2861  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Receiving Bitcoin on Coinbase from ledger? on: January 27, 2023, 08:45:10 PM
It took 59 minutes in the end for the transfer to complete.

I don’t mind that just didn’t realise it would take soo long!

I am 22% up on Bitcoin so time to take some profits and put elsewhere.

I am gambling on Bitcoin having at least one more crash when I will then buy more.
How much fee did you pay for that transaction? As they say, the speed depends on the pay that you'll fee and the amount will depend on how clogged or empty the network is. Now, if it's ever received then the better test that you should make is how long it will be able to send from Coinbase to your Ledger wallet, and since you'll have the idea about how the fees with, you'll have to increase the fee then to avoid this experience again.
Well, congrats on your gains!
2862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We lose on the long run through return percentage on: January 27, 2023, 07:17:32 PM
They are numerous stories of people who won the jackpot and ended up spending the whole money back on the casino within a short period, 1 or 2 years, they lost the jackpot.
I've heard countless stories that those people who have won the lottery in my country ended up with nothing just after a few years. Note that they've got a huge winning around $270k in today's time and they've just spent it all within less than five years. It was from several years ago and then inflation back then wasn't that much and that amount is really quite big to spend with. The saddest story that I've heard, that lottery winner spent all of his winnings from luxury and didn't even managed to save for his future.
2863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of accepting bitcoin in business on: January 27, 2023, 04:00:59 PM
For example, so people may accept bitcoin to show support for the technology or to do transacting business with people overseas easy or maybe because of the zero-transaction fee.
I think transaction costs are not zero but they are cheaper and faster than using fiat currency, especially when making transactions using inter-banks both domestically and abroad.
Before I've seen times where it's most likely zero transaction fee but now, it's no longer zero fees. But yes, the fees are not that expensive and they're cheaper today.
And there was a point of time during the 2017 ATH wherein the fees were too excruciating for the majority because if you won't pay for the higher fee, you'll get stuck for so long.
2864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will BNB Coin Hit $300 Mark in 2023? on: January 27, 2023, 01:58:01 PM
Or simply that BNB is pumping just like the rest of other crypto because of the domino effect that bitcoin has to other altcoins.
That's for sure, it's because of bitcoin when it pumps, the entire market pumps along with it and BNB is one of it.
And with the price range of OP is asking and we're in 2023 already, the price has already been $300 and until we go back to the bull run then definitely that we'll be able to see another price that's gonna be higher to $300.
But don't be too confident because no matter what the situation of the market is, BNB is also another highly volatile asset.

In general naman most tokens ay crap.

Di naman highlight ng statement niya iyong crypto as a type of casino. Lawakan ang isip. Smiley
2866  Local / Pilipinas / Re: WORTH IT PA BA? on: January 27, 2023, 11:09:58 AM

2867  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your successes over the past 5 years on: January 26, 2023, 10:59:01 PM
Yeah, and it's not a scam like those that we've seen and those pump-and-dump altcoins that we probably managed to have in our portfolios. I'm happy that I've kept still a lot in bitcoin and now regretting that I've used a few from my original holdings just to buy those altcoins that did become nearly as of typing this. We're all hopeful to the bull run and we don't know when it's going to happen but most likely, after the halving which is we're just 1 year and a couple of months far.
Im guilty with this one on which i have lots of shit coins inside my bag specially on erc20 specially into those times where ICO run is really the main thing which everything is hyped up,
but seeing the value of those coins and trying to check it out on which i do make myself that get depressed because of it but there's no other way to deal up with things but to move on.
Doesnt matter if we've been able to commit out those mistakes in the past, the important thing on here is that you do learn out of those experiences and make yourself much more
wiser and aware on how things do works.
Those were the day's man when we used to pick anything that we think will be hyped by its own market. And then it has come to reach that point but we never sold because we're too greedy and think that there's more to it until it's already forgotten and the value has dropped and we're no longer onto that point that we're in profit because something bad has already happened to it and most likely abandoned. Those were the expensive lessons that we've learned from being one.
2868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins dead? on: January 26, 2023, 10:31:01 PM
Those altcoins stated by OP weren't dead coins. Yeah, he didn't mention or asked about if they're dead but they're not those altcoins that are near to their end.
Despite the controversy that some of it are with, those are still at the top and look at ETH compared to the time when this was asked. It's been pumping together with bitcoin.
You are right, there are lots of top altcoin lists so surely people know that he wants to discuss specific altcoins in the category of coins dying due to various scam issues and definitely not the top altcoins he is referring to.
Yeah, when someone highlights some names of the coins then for sure that it's the main reason of the topic.

It's that just feel bad because I've sold most that I've got and didn't maximized the profit but yeah, gonna take the profit is profit subject.
Even if you have taken profit in the current price increase phase but it is not too late to buy it again during the correction, there is still a chance to take high profit in the long term
I'm feeling the same thoughts as those people that have been saying that they're already too late in buying bitcoin because it's too expensive. But we go with the fact that it's quite a lot for those that don't have that much. And it's sort of a guilt feeling if ever you'll buy when you're looking at it while it increases.

2870  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could this be the reason for the recent rise in Bitcoin price? on: January 26, 2023, 09:15:10 PM
I'm from the Philippines and it's said that the problem with the airport/flights which made the sudden outage of power was due to the outlet box or something like that. And even if that's true that they've been hacked and asked for a ransom or whatnot, that won't be disclosed by them.
But I want to believe what they've said that there's nothing related to ransomware or paying the ransom in bitcoin and it's just a coincidence that the outlet or gearbox suddenly needed a change. And these incidents doesn't have something to do with bitcoin's rise in price.
2871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 26, 2023, 06:05:23 PM
if Bollick will become a free agent.
I've seen the news that he's about to become a free agent or is he already signed again by North Port? But nevertheless, yeah it seems that NP is already a farm team.
And whoever gets the trade again will be SMB or Ginebra that will be taking Bollick soon. But just like the other good players from the PBA. I just wish that he gets a contract outside PBA as he'll get more salary and become more known outside the league if ever a foreign team signs him up.

If bollick will go to a tough team and he has a good time then for sure he can show us who is he. As we all know that bollick is one of a good player all he need is a good team with a good teammate cause when bollick play In northport all I can say is that he can not carry his team into finals  even though they have import and arwind Santos but not sure if they can advance to the finals as we all know that thier team is one of the farm team in PBA nowadays.
He's genuinely one of the best players in the PBA right now but because the teams are the ones who decide on who they're going to allow who's their mainstay. There's a possibility that even for a long time of their stay and loyalty, it will just be reciprocated by trade by their respective team management. Despite that the team might be at its best, I doubt it now and maybe the others too are doubting it that they'll be able to reach the finals.

2873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any news on Sui ICO or launch ? on: January 26, 2023, 01:29:51 PM
Seeing how Aptos is pumping like crazy, I wanted to see of I can get in in on the ICO of the project of the other team from Meta preparing a crypto.
Any newd or infos on Sui launch or ICO ?
I have never heard of that project. If it's another ICO then that's most likely not going to get much attention. And not jus because that Aptos is pumping and there's like a hype that's happening with it, I don't think that you should ever compare it with other project that gets you interested with.
2874  Economy / Economics / Re: Keeping money and keeping bitcoins? are they similar? on: January 26, 2023, 11:22:25 AM
The massive awareness to keep bitcoins for as long as possible promotes people to develop the attitude of saving, just like saving money. Do you agree with this that people who are very good at saving money become very good at keeping bitcoins when they finally start doing cryptocurrency? Or do you feel that there is no similarity between keeping bitcoins and keeping money?
I believe in that because of the principle and practice that has been developed. If you're good at saving money then you should also be good in keeping bitcoin and any other asset because you've been through with it and had an experience on how you should keep it.
It's about the discipline that's been made for which it's going to be applicable to anything that you're seeing of a great value and you'll be keeping it for good.
2875  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has someone tried to use ChatGPT to help in trading? on: January 26, 2023, 10:13:12 AM
I see a lot of people are using ChatGPT for various reasons and with that there are now so many videos how it can help it with writing trading scripts etc. Has someone tried it until now?
It's clever but I've tried asking some predictions and trading tips through it but it seems not helpful to me. But due to the hype that chatgpt is getting, almost every question is being asked there. Do you guys remember the yellow chick named Simsimi? That's the same as chatgpt but it's not named as an AI. I think anything that's attached to ai is becoming popular due to the interest of everyone. It's a good thing that there's still some restrictions to what it can say and answer.
2876  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: ETH - 1ST QUARTER PRICE PREDICTION FREE (2023) on: January 26, 2023, 09:43:56 AM
Dollar price magiging basehan?

Ahh ganun ba, my bad.

2878  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How bitcoin supply can be more than 21 million on: January 25, 2023, 11:24:35 PM
It is what you're thinking that's happening and that's why it's hot on the news these days there's an implementation that these exchanges want to have and that's about proof of reserve.
It's to prove that they're holding this xx amount of bitcoins onto their reserve and they're far from being bankrupt and this is like the mechanism to avoid what has happened to FTX.
2879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CEX deserves all criticism but not the hate on: January 25, 2023, 10:52:52 PM
Trusting them is subjective. You can use them yet not trust them because of the issues that you're aware of. Yeah, you can trust them at the same time have doubts about them as you use them. Getting the hate that they've got is all due to the outcome of what FTX has made and it's not limited to just last year's timeline. We may still see some of it in the future but hopefully, most of the users are aware of it that when they say trusting these exchanges, it's not up to the point that you'll store all that you've got in them.
2880  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your successes over the past 5 years on: January 25, 2023, 10:23:31 PM
But when I look at my portfolio, I'm happy to look at it every time even if the market isn't that good at all,

I think it is the same story and we share the same measure of scam to it. Investing in Ponzi scheme is a scam already because it will eventually fail. Also back in the past ICO was all over the place and investing on it then seem like it was a sure way to financial independence but it never happened, it all ended in scam. This is the story so far but there is still light at the end because some investment still give you hope for increase soon during the bitcoin bull.
Yeah, and it's not a scam like those that we've seen and those pump-and-dump altcoins that we probably managed to have in our portfolios.
