2861  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I coded a bot that buys bitcoin every time Elon Musk tweets about bitcoin and op on: April 06, 2021, 03:53:48 PM
This bot is designed to buy bitcoin every time Elon musk tweets about bitcoin with the following parameters:

The bot will open a buy position on bitcoin every time Elon mentions bitcoin in his tweet
Take profit is set to 10% and stop loss to 5%
The bitcoin bot will not place another trade if there is already an active trade (can be adjusted)
Well, this is really nice but everyone has their own ways that they are trading cryptocurrency, not everyone would like to buy bitcoin just because Elon Musk tweeted about it, there are a lot of people who would prefer that they dig in properly and be sure that they are actions they are about to take in their trading is accurate.

But, you still have a good idea and I know you did this because a lot of us believed that Elon Musk’s tweets were part of what pushed bitcoin up. What about this time, does it still work, and has the price been moving up all this while? There are so many things that are being considered when talking about the price of bitcoin and I think you should build your bit in a way that all these things are out into consideration.
2862  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anybody here sell their Gold to buy Bitcoin? on: April 06, 2021, 02:04:01 PM
btc can surpass golds value but not its other characteristics
What other characteristics/values of gold that you are bothering? In my understanding, gold cannot be transmitted smoothly and securely like how we are transacting bitcoins. It means bitcoin has already surpassed gold in such characteristics. Probably you are referring worldwide momentary of transaction? I believe one day all the countries will be accepting bitcoin as preferred momentary of exchange, I am very much confident about that.

at a lower price, selling gold to buy bitcoin is a good option but right now, keeping the position is still a good way to avoid risk
Yeah, right bitcoin prices has grown to big levels and right now trying to buy more bitcoin by selling gold may not be an option for many people including myself. But for the people who are strongly believing into $100k or $150k levels for bitcoins, might be thinking that must be a right approach.
2863  Economy / Speculation / Re: Despite six months of rising Bitcoin prices, Peter Brent says up to $ 50,000 cor on: April 05, 2021, 06:50:32 PM
Corrections will always happen, it happened in all throughout the history in every single asset, nothing goes up forever, as long as it is not a bubble it is just healthy and corrections are a proof that it is not a bubble. There will always be some people who will say things like "bitcoin will be under 1k again" and on the other side "will bitcoin be a billion dollars?" as well, both of those people are wrong but for some reason they get a lot of people interested in what they have to say.

There are tons of people who claim bitcoin will go down, and they are famous finance people who talk about this to public as well, and all news websites publish it like he knows what he is talking about, and even on the opposite side people like Elon talks about how they will plant doge to literal moon, and people see that as fun as well. I think both sides should calm down and talk a bit more realistic but realistic doesn't sell news (or get clicks).
Obviously correction was a scary part for many, but this steady increase should probably give some people some ideas. I wasn't scared of this because of my experience, however there will be a fall where it will scare me as well, no matter how veteran you are, unless you are rock solid not moving for decades type of investor, some falls will definitely scare you.

So, maybe this fall wasn't it, I didn't believed it to be neither, but after we break over 60k, and after the price reaches a point where it will not fall anymore, I think there will be a moment where it will fall so much that we may see another 50% big fall again. I am not saying it will happen today or tomorrow, maybe it will take 6 months before we see a huge fall, but I am 100% sure it will happen one day once again.
2864  Economy / Economics / Re: More bullish news: Paypal will alllow crypto checkout on: April 04, 2021, 08:48:27 PM
This one is another good news and these good fundamental news can have some effect on price. However, I'm not surprising to see them doing this. But, I'll not use bitcoin on paypal or any other centralized unit. Because they will usually ask for kyc and this can be against protecting our privacy and put my identify in danger. The whole point of bitcoin is to be border-less and no kyc otherwise we could use other payment system such paypal in the first place.
That is something people do not really understand,  we should be focusing on our freedom and be able to use bitcoin however you want without caring about government trying to meddle with your moves but unfortunately that is getting harder.

Look at exchanges, they are asking for KYC and that is making it harder in nations as well, I do not even agree with governments getting taxes from crypto, why would they do that? I mean don't get me wrong if you sell something and get crypto for it, you should be taxed like you would do on a regular sale, however nothing extra for being crypto. Like if I own 100k bitcoins because I was here 10 years ago and bought at very cheap, that doesn't mean that I should be paying a huge sum of money for taxes just because I have al ot of bitcoins, that was an investment and as long as I make smart investment decisions that should not be punished with a tax.
2865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: New to this on: April 04, 2021, 08:16:54 PM
Hey, I just started looking into all this and slowly figuring it out. About a week ago, I stumbled on a shitcoin that is literally bouncing back and forth from 0.0000007 to 0.001. I want to drop a little money into it, but definitely seems to good to be true. The coin is called Netkoin and it's been going up and down dramatically for weeks. I know there's gotta be some kind of risk, but can't figure out what it is and wondering if I should just go for it?
I don't know if this is a plug or not, there are way too many people who shill their favorite coins, I have seen people selling a "service" as writing about a token on bitcointalk 10+ times a day from 10+ different accounts to shill it and make people like it, that's a real service.

But assuming it is not, I am going to just talk about general idea, if you find a coin and you do not know what is wrong with it, try to find what is good with it, I can't see anything great about netkoin, that makes a no for me and I would not invest into it, if you want to list something you can do with it, I can clearly show you a way to actually find something in everything, you should not be doing that, there are huge things in the crypto world that actually worths money and you should try to find something in those. That's why pick something that has great potential, not something that has nothing bad going on.
2866  Economy / Economics / Re: Archegos Capital Management - How to burn $20 billion overnight! on: April 04, 2021, 06:28:20 PM
A few days ago, news emerged that a large US fund (Archegos Capital Management) had caused quite a stir in the financial market, and that large banks such as Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and Japan's Nomura were in trouble, and the latter has already admitted a loss of as much as $2 billion. Namely, due to non-fulfillment of obligations towards investors, a forced liquidation of as much as $20 billion took place, which included shares of companies such as Tencent, Baidu, ViacomCBS, Discovery and some others.
I do not think that him being guilty of insider trading back in the day and him getting this much richer overnight because of what the companies did is different. Those companies took out a short and failed to pay the margin call and that is why it ended up being 20 billion dollars, that is basically the same thing Wallstreetbets did as well, it could be profitable or not right now, but it had a moment when real wall street companies lost as much as 7 billion dollars (estimates go as much as 70 billion total but that's not proven, 7 billion is guaranteed notified) because some redditors decided to fuck with wall street.

This is why I think it is quite important that we do not care what's going on with wall street's financials, they can lose all of their money all I care, they will get bailed out with our money anyway and that's why I hate them and why I am in crypto.
2867  Economy / Economics / Re: U.S. rent has increased 175% faster than household income over past 20 years on: April 04, 2021, 05:57:16 PM
The thing is... rental properties in prime areas are becoming a huge problem. Most people want to stay near to where they work and the inner city is probably the area where most people work. So it does not matter if suburbs are expanding... because those people still have to travel far distances to get to there work.

City planners should develop traveling alternatives that will make it easier for people to live further from their work place, but still easy to commute to work. (Then employees can rent or buy cheaper properties that are further from their work)  Roll Eyes

Crypto currencies cannot solve this problem.  Roll Eyes
In those prime places if you have a house that you can rent to someone, you can charge a very high price and it still gets rented, that is the issue why things are very expensive, because it will be rented anyway. I know a person who rents his house for nearly my whole salary, it is not like an incredible unbelievable house, it is just a regular flat in an apartment and dude rents it for about 80% of my salary, when the previous renter moved out it took him 3 days to find a new one, and that is why it is very expensive.

I think as long as people keep paying for things, life will keep becoming more expensive, cars are being sold for a lot more these days for example but they are sold more as well, those type of things are the reason why we have very expensive life and our salaries are shrinking compared to purchasing power it used to have.
2868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If a project gets too complicated on: April 03, 2021, 07:22:56 PM
people need to learn more about blockchain technology my friend
especially for new people, for me there is no complicated project
read the whitepaper carefully and ask to the team if you don't understand about the project, simple right ?
You are right but sometimes understanding a new project can be hard. I was learning about some launchpads recently and I was seriously confused. I think it lies more on the project owners to provide explainer videos and writing the whitepaper such that an average investor and even enthusiast can easily understand and explain to others.

Some aspects require education like you said understanding the blockchain but really it is more on the team to explain the functioning than on the questioner for asking it.

Bitcoin is built on such a complex yet robust mechanism that despite thinking I know every bit of how it works, I learn something new every now and then. But that could have been easier had there been some videos along with the whitepaper. Now a lot of people make videos to explain particular functions so it is easier though.
2869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cheapest way to turn usd or eur to usdt trc20 ? on: April 03, 2021, 09:12:10 AM
Hi , based on your experience what is the cheapest way to turn usd or eur to usdt trc20 ? bank transfer / online wallets / p2p
You should also mention where you have the USDT/EUR right now. I mean if you have them in skill then obviously find a P2P trader and exchange through them. If you have them in the bank then the best option is to buy from a trusted site which is charging the lowest fees. I have heard of moonpay but I don't know what fees they charge and how reliable they are.

The cheapest option also depends on the amount, if you going to buy $50-100 worth of coins then I think P2P traders are best because they don't charge any fixed fees most of the time, while if you are buying from a website they will charge minimum fixed fees. If you are transacting a large sum of money then always best to go through a trusted website because you don't have to worry about minimum charges.
2870  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you think crypto trading can help nation with no Job create jobs? on: April 01, 2021, 08:25:41 PM
As a trader, it is a must for us to adjust base on the market condition and I think this is not seasonal. No matter what it is, we have to go along with it. Either be a bearish or bullish season, the results of our trades will also depending on how you interact with the market.
What's more important is, to have the ability and control yourself from trading when market is not moving according to how you want it to be. Once you see there is an opportunity only then you must trade, trading too much and within unfavorable conditions is actually similar to gambling. I sometimes feel that is it much easier to actually invest and sell rather than trade which requires deep understanding and knowledge about reading charts, candles and all.

While choosing to trade as a main source of income or in times that we are jobless, I can't say it was a good idea, not unless if you are really sure of what you are doing. It is a need of time to make it right, to get familiar with trading as a whole. Because if you are in a hurry to make money, nha this is not the price place to stay because that only leads to emotional trading and puts you into an easy loss.
Indeed and emotional trading is such a dangerous prospect because it is quite similar to emotional or problem gambling where you are chasing losses and trying to recover what you have lost while forgetting the essence of trading.

Make sure whenever you are opening any sell/buy order, you have a solid reason and some data to back it up, if you don't have any reason for the trade, you are just trading emotionally.
2871  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Everything you need to know about trading – the rest is up to you (blogpost) on: April 01, 2021, 08:05:30 PM
What OP has said is TRUE. All the results will matter to our decision-making.
Right and the decision making is influenced by our knowledge and our risk appetite hence more than what we do, we must focus and emphasize on learning about all the possible outcomes in trading and how much risk we should take because being too conservative is not going to work in the crypto markets while being careless might wipe our bankroll within a few days.

If only we stick to what we have planned and applying our strategies, achieving our goal is very close to it. I said "it was close to it" because we are not sure that 100% we hit our target and not all the time we are lucky to our trade. When I do the trade, I ask also to have luck aside from those things mentioned by OP, I ask to have perfect timing when buying and selling. We can't ignore the volatility and that is why I have to do it.
Knowing the perfect timing to buy and sell for BTC might be near impossible because honestly, I have failed to ever predict it correctly but that said, I can easily say it is going to rise only in coming time. The easier thing to do is, to buy altcoins that you deem have good potential like now the ETH blockchain is slow and costly, it was obvious that people would move to other chains and people who realized this invested in BNB. You just need to keep a keen eye on the market and react quickly.
2872  Economy / Speculation / Re: Understanding Bitcoin price as a beginner on: April 01, 2021, 06:21:08 PM
The thing with bull market is that every correction has a chance to actually not be a correction, but rather the beggining of the crash. I remember how when Bitcoin was hitting $20,000 in 2017 and then started falling, everyone was saying "HODL" and that it's just another correction on the road to $100k. People who buy deep into the bull run should really be careful about it, otherwise they'll have to endure years of being in a loss on their positions.
Yeah, buying in ATH is of course not a great idea, I would hope that people get in earlier and lower instead of at ATH prices however we should also realize that last people who bought at ATH in 2017 made a 3x return in 3 years, that is actually a good good amount of money to make in 3 years, very rarely anything gives you that kind of return. Sure it wouldn't be great in midterm, it could go up to 100k this year and crash to very low numbers, or maybe it can crash even today, but in the long run it should be going higher than 60k for sure eventually.

@OP
do not be upset that you didn't hold your coins, nobody knew it would be this high, even the maximalists did assume it would go up but not this high and this quickly, so you were doing the right thing at the time I am sure.

So cool to hear that your Majestic 7 is coming again,,, I have taken part in most of the Jackmates and while did not win anything in Champions League format I think what you guys did for EPL was truly awesome so cannot wait for it to be back again. Maybe you can spread it to other sports too for sure!
I do agree that jackmate 7 for premier league was awesome. I have never on anything from it but I liked playing it a lot, even talking about it was very fun, it is a shame that it got removed but I am quite happy to hear that there is a chance it could come back. If it comes back I can guarantee you that both this place will be better and there will be a lot of people talking about it and there will also be a lot of people who will want to try it as well.

Of course it is not going to be as simple as just do it and many will come, but it will definitely be good enough to get a few in at least. It is going to revive everything here, I remember when it existed people wrote 10+ messages a week just on that every week about who could score, and this season will not be very different for sure. I believe it is good marketing and it should be done for sure.
2874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BNB still undervalue on: April 01, 2021, 03:45:34 PM
People moved to BNB because of high transaction fee. Also Binance burns some of BNB periodically. One day BNB will be bigger than Ethereum.
How that works if BNB burns portion of its total supply periodically doesn't that also means the market cap to be stuck since lesser total supply means lesser market capitalization if the coin price can't keep up with how much coins burned in hope of increasing the price.
I know that BNB is promising but I don't see it can be bigger than Ethereum seeing how the coin's burning model.
CZ keeps promoting BNB as well, he keeps writing about how awesome it will get and how great it will be too. We are just seeing the start of what makes BNB great, we are going to see a lot more stuff in the future, he realized that the biggest weapon he has is BNB and not binance exchange, you can actually delete all exchange and just have BNB and he would still be a hugely rich and wealthy person while BSC keep making BNB worth a lot, obviously binance is a big reason, probably the biggest reason but its no longer the only reason. That is why I think he will keep pushing BNB instead of binance and he will make us all rich meanwhile as well, that is going to be something very valuable for the future if you are holding bnb.

I do have both bnb and eth so I am the winner in this fight, both of them will try to out do each other while we make the profits.
2875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to win at roulette? on: March 31, 2021, 08:44:50 PM
My advice is to enjoy it when playing Roulette, because there really isn't a specific strategy to be able to win at Roulette. Just do a strategy that you are good at and you feel comfortable using it, because whatever the strategy is, it will also lose money in the end. So let your luck determine the outcome, but if indeed you are lucky and manage to win. Immediately leave the game and make a withdrawal right away, because if it continues, the profit you get will be lost with your capital.
Enjoying is important and you're right there is no way to assure profits in gambling whether it is roulette or any other game. The only times when you can actually win money from gambling is by playing skill-based games like chess or some table games where skill can outperform luck.

Sorry but it's better and good to beat the table of baccarat or Poker than the table of Roulette mate because that is a game in which pure luck is what you need to consider, Imagine how many numbers to choose while the price is far little from the wins?
meaning that the House always has the advantage and you can only beat them unless you are very friendly with luck.
Exactly what I also want to say, there are some skill-based games where you may be able to beat others because you have better skills and win but even then most of the time people who are against you will be near your skillset.

When I am betting on the roulette game, although rarely, I just bet on color of the next ball which I decide based on how the last few balls have poped. If the last ball was black, I will bet red or vice versa.
2876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will TRX go to new ATH on: March 31, 2021, 06:52:41 PM
Justin sun is working hard on tron and now soon we will see NFT on tron.
Binance is also doing a trading competition that has pushed btt and trx price.
Will trx hit ots new ATH this time?
What are your predictions?
Well when one coin doesn't go up drastically, it doesn't drop drastically because people are not looking at it too much. When a coin goes up a lot, that means there is a lot of people with money that wants to buy that coin and that is the reason why it goes up so much, that's the main reason at least, there could be some news or something but that's still comes down to making people want to buy that coin in the end. And when it goes down, there are people who care about it enough that they own it and they follow it and they want to sell and get out, they want to cash out, it could be any reason but it needs to be a situation where it goes down.

Tron has neither of them, which is why one can't happen without the other, if people didn't get hyped and bought a lot of tron, then how could they hype and sell a lot of it as well? That's not going to happen.
2877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cardano Price Predictions For End Of 2021 on: March 31, 2021, 06:12:33 PM
What are your price predictions? I bought around ~100 at $0.40. Wondering if I should throw some more money at it. It hasn't been one of my main cryptos.
I remember there was a topic about whether ADA is on Elon Musk portfolio or not. But, honestly I do not like that kind of situation where people who hold a coin wants Elon Musk to tweet about their coin so that they could make money. That is not why we are in crypto, first of all you should not be buying any crypto just because you want to make money, we all want to make money if that was the case we would all pick just one coin, pump it, and make a ton of profit and be happy, that is not the case, a coin needs to be good and have a good potential in order to go up, so even if you want to only care about your profits, you have to care about how good that project is, bad projects do not make you money.

If you think cardano could go up all by itself because it is a good project, that means you do not need Elon since price of ADA would go up even without him, that should be the aim, however if you think the only way ADA could go up is Elon tweeting about it, you should not be in it to begin with.
2878  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing only for the rich? Think again on: March 31, 2021, 05:46:53 PM
For me, Investing is for the rich but I'm not talking about your financial capability. What I'm talking about is investing is for the rich mindset. Your money will be a waste if you are investing without a rich mindset. Actually mindset is everything you need, you can become rich by having a rich and positive mindset. Investing doesn't just require a capital because you need to have a good mindset that will guide to become good in what you are doing. Focus also in acquiring knowledge first before putting your money in some investment in order for you to prevent suffering from major losses and for you to able to earn huge amount of money.
The thing is – it’s not a must that every type of investment will be the same with another investment, they are all going to be totally different, if you know what works for you then you should just go for it. The world is changing and the internet is taking and Bitcoin is the money of the internet, and I don’t see anything wrong with being part of the new trend and definitely if you invest in bitcoin now and decide to leave it for the next ten years, one thing for sure is that the value you have there will continue to increase for sure and that alone is a good reason to invest. So, you may grab those opportunity even you are not a rich right now.

I mean other investments maybe meant only for rich people and profitable only at times but bitcoin is not that category yet as it is still in its early stages. Even you can invest $100 today and it may grow 100x in next 10 years as per the past records of bitcoin investments' performances.
2879  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin mining in Texas - new trend - will Tesla follow on: March 31, 2021, 05:30:02 PM
Let’s see what’s going to happen in the years coming, if they are going to start mining bitcoin or not. But it’s not really necessary, we already have a lot of bitcoin mining companies. Though if they decide to go for it and become and Bitcoin mining company that wouldn’t be bad, I know very well that they are going to be among the companies that will be the biggest in the industry, because they already have lots of money to invest and build it to the level they would want.

Considering that Elon is planning to build a city called Starbase in Texas, I think that there is a real possibility that they will follow this trend and he might become the biggest and most green bitcoin mining in the region.
Wow, this is the first time that I’m getting to know about this Starbase you’re talking about. What’s it all about? I don’t live in the US and I don’t really follow him on any social media platform, so I am not able to catch up with any of the news that has to do with him.
2880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the point of so many cryptocurrencies? on: March 31, 2021, 08:41:24 AM
Adoption from retail businesses that we can use using blockchain. that's why there are so many altcoins with various concepts. I think this is a good thing because with so many sectors that can get adoption from the blockchain, it's not just transactions. because now in particular cryptocurrency has been in the spotlight of many people for investment preferences. this is a great move for the future
With the plenty of cryptocurrencies develop we will be able to choose among them which works better, though it’s quite risky but we really need to be motivated in studying them and to know whether they will be able to get much of what that business really needs. They have specific purposes that may not suitable in other projects, we just need to know whether we really need that crypto or not.
I do not think that retail would mind, as long as we can grow on online place that would be a lot more important. Think of how many websites in the entire world where we do not have crypto accepting just yet, even the huge biggest ones like amazon and google and facebook do not accept crypto payments just yet, that is why the best place to start would be to get crypto accepted in the online world if we can achieve that we can start thinking about what we can do with the rest of the retail world.

Going to a place and paying and waiting for 30 minutes is not something that we can accept, but if we could actually make that online world work that would be simpler because you are at home buying something and you can wait 30 minutes or few hours just for it to get accepted, not like you have any rush, it would be better of course if it was quicker but bitcoin is slow and expensive unfortunately.
