2861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: October 05, 2020, 10:55:15 AM
I don't think anyone will  be unhappy if the test match between Australia and Afghanistan is postponed . Because the match will be one sided . A team like Afghanistan is like a child in test match against Australia . May be Afghanistan played well in the ODI match but they still could not good enough in the test match. I would be happy if Australia played New Zealand or India

This is not a proper justification. Currently the big 3 teams are far ahead of the other test nations. We have one-sided matches whenever these nations play against smaller nations such as West Indies or Sri Lanka. But that doesn't mean that we should limit test cricket to just three nations. We have 12 teams with test status and they should be allowed to play against each other.

I checked some of the articles. The pay rate is not that high. It ranges from $0.10 to $3.00 per article. A lot depends on your luck. The more upvotes and views means a better pay rate. I don't need to do this right now, but a few years back I could have participated. Although the pay rate is low, it means a lot for many of those in developing nations. And now a lot of people have lost their jobs as well.
2863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can I 'delete' useless tokens from my wallet? on: October 05, 2020, 10:36:29 AM
I think there's no deleting of tokens or coins in our wallet. The only way is to make another wallet and send to that address only the tokens that are valuable and leave the ones that has no value, but the thing is you have to use eth gas for the transaction. I also have several tokens with no value even about 3 years, and i just left it behind my wallet.

Is it that difficult to keep these tokens in your wallet? Apart from making the wallet a bit clumsy, they don't cause any other harm. You always have the option of moving to another wallet. But with ETH gas fees at extremely high levels right now, this is not something that I would be recommending. The ERC-20 algorithm doesn't give you the freedom to delete tokens. You need to live with that.
2864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 05, 2020, 10:29:33 AM
You never know. IPL is so freaking unpredictable. DC is a very well-balanced team, but they ended up losing comfortably against an unbalanced SRH recently. Many didn't expect that, but I did due to the nature of this tournament.

This is why balance doesn't always matter in this league. RCB have recovered their form recently which is why they could win comfortably against DC.

RCB has a habit of being inconsistent. If they perform well in one match, then you can be more or less sure that they will perform in a pathetic manner during the next match. They do have some of the biggest names in their squad, such as Virat Kohli, Aaron Finch, AB de Villiers and Yuzvendra Chahal. But with such a strong squad, if you check the stats then you can see that they have underperformed.
2865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 sportbet.one 🏏🏏 [IPL 2020] Prediction pool and discussion 🏏🏏 on: October 05, 2020, 10:19:25 AM
They did mess up indeed. The big blow was Bhuvi's injury recently who is their primary pace bowler. He probably could have brought the target down by 20-30 runs.

Krunal Pandya destroyed Kaul at the end. I was surprised to see Kaul in the squad since I hate his bowling. In the CSK vs KXIP match, I bet on CSK and loved the outcome. Punjab is back to its losing ways.

Bowling is the weakest department for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Apart from Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, none of their bowlers have been consistent. Thangarasu Natarajan bowled well in the last match, but he is inexperienced. All their other bowlers, including Siddarth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma and Abdul Samad were terribly expensive. And to make matters worse, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is injured.
2866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US 2020 Elections data, polls and bets on: October 04, 2020, 01:58:51 PM
Anyone know if there are prices for VP Pence assuming office in 2020 or the (post swearing in) VP assuming office in 2021?
What odds would that be?

You should have made the bet before the COVID 19 diagnosis of Trump. Then you could have got odds such as 1/200 or 1/300. But now the odds have changed drastically. I checked Bookies.com. Pence was at +50000 last week. Yesterday they revised his odds at +1700. Biden went form -121 to -200, while Trump is now +190 (from +100 last week). Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton are unchanged, at +10,000 and +25,000 respectively.

2867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Ripple (XRP) might be the future of digital payments on: October 04, 2020, 01:30:42 PM
A centralized shitcoin like XRP will never be a future of anything but Ripple company.

It made millions of dollars making promises and selling them to gullible investors and it's going to keep making money as long as they have their premined coins to dump on the market.

Exactly. They have one of the best PR campaigns and they managed to fool millions of unsuspecting investors in 2017 and 2018. XRP made many of its founders billionaires. Brad Garlinghouse, Chris Larsen and Jed McCaleb are among those who reaped billions from XRP. If you ask me which one is the biggest cryptocurrency scam, then I would say that the honor goes to Ripple. It ranks well ahead of PlusToken and OneCoin.
2868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miami Dade to open Casinos and Restaurants for the third time. on: October 04, 2020, 01:24:07 PM
For long those who had just being waiting for this moment when the casinos will get open so that they will start gambling there will be lots of such people who would have gone to the casinos on reopening and played there. It would have been very difficult for those who do not like or cannot do online gambling and only prefer casinos to gamble.

Those who prefer physical casinos don't prefer online gambling sites. This point was stated manytimes before in this thread. So you can't ask those gamblers to remain at home, by offering them online services. And you also need to think about the duration. It has been more than 6 months. Even the most health-conscious gamblers may be losing their patience.
2869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you trust, BNB or ETH? on: October 04, 2020, 01:18:10 PM
Those who invested in ETH during 2015/16 got good returns. The same has happened to those who invested in BNB, during its initial months (Q4 2017). But now I have a feeling that both these coins are not worth investing in. ETH is plagued by high transaction fee and other issues. Binance is doing well right now, but they are increasingly having issues with the regulatory authorities.
2870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 sportbet.one 🏏🏏 [IPL 2020] Prediction pool and discussion 🏏🏏 on: October 04, 2020, 01:12:22 PM
You forgetting Natrajan? Only fast bowler in this season perfecting his Yorkers ( 21 so far). It's first game for Sidharth so willing to cut him some slack.

Overall SRH bowlers did fairly good job, last 4 balls messed it up the momentum but 208 still chasable at this venue.

Yup. Natarajan did a pretty good job today. Having an economy rate of 7.25 runs per over at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium is phenomenal. I think I saw him bowling a few times for the Kovai Kings in the TNPL last year. He was pretty ordinary in his first game in this IPL, but then he bounced back quite well.

Pandey got out two overs back. SRH are on track, with Warner and Williamson at crease. Priyam Garg had a good outing in the last match and he'll be their no.5. Then we have Abhishek Sharma and Abdul Samad. Now it's SRH's game to lose.
2871  Economy / Economics / Re: Does China plan to go communist? on: October 04, 2020, 01:06:29 PM
Tiktok is not owned by Chinese government, its privately owned and created by a Chinese billionaire, But I still believe on a communist party, the government still control everything so if Tiktok can't just sell it as easy as that. Chinese government are getting stronger, economically and politically and since then they are already a communist country who aims more power along south China sea.

Tiktok was banned in my country (India) a few months back. Now other countries are also banning it, due to Chinese links. Even if it is not directly owned by the Chinese government, I think the other jurisdictions must ban such Chinese apps. A lot of people claim that these apps leak personal data to the Chinese authorities. Even if that is not the case, Chinese apps should not be allowed in other countries, since foreign brands face a lot of restrictions in China.
2872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: (Yes or NO) The 2020s belong to DEXs on: October 04, 2020, 12:59:17 PM
I think the kucoin hack is only going to accelerate the movement towards DEXs. The only issue I see now is the high transaction fee and the user interface which can be made simple for novice users.

There is not a single cryptocurrency exchange out there, which we can trust 100%. I have lost my cryptocurrency holdings with multiple exchanges. The mainstream exchanges also need to understand this. Why can't they allow us to own our coins. After all, these exchanges are just trading platforms. Why they should always ask for keeping the coins in their hot wallets?
2873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs. Conor McGregor on: October 04, 2020, 12:53:03 PM
There's one listed in the OP but this one which is the latest is different.

https://www.oddschecker.com/us/insight/boxing/boxing/20200927-boxing-odds-conor-mcgregor-vs-manny-pacquiao-betting-breakdown

image album upload

There's a little improvement of the odds if you'll favor Manny Pacquiao to win this fight, though not so attractive but if you like making easy money, you should go for Manny Pacquiao here, all the time.

This is just crazy. Given the odds, I don't think that anyone will make a bet in favor of Manny. If you put $100, then you may get around $10 as profit. But there is always a chance of an upset. McGregor is a very talented fighter and he do have a good chance in this fight. It is up to you guys to decide whether you want to risk $100, just for $10. IMO, the risk is too high and the potential returns are too low.
2874  Economy / Economics / Re: Not enough Corona Virus Vaccine until 2024, at earliest on: October 04, 2020, 12:47:26 PM
I am from India, and I would say that this Adar Poonawalla guy is a fraud. He is a relative of a well known opposition party politician, and he has been making useless statements such as this for sometime now. Actually no one here in India takes this guy seriously anymore. First of all, Serum Institute is not the only manufacturers of the vaccine. Even in India, we have other manufacturers such as Bharat Biotech.
2875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: October 04, 2020, 12:40:20 PM
I’m reading a lot of chatter saying that Trumps positive COVID announcement is a publicity stunt after the “debate”. Thoughts on these claims or fake news?

In that case, what about the countless senators and bureaucrats who tested positive along with Trump? If Trump wanted to fake his infection, then only he and Melania should test positive for COVID 19, right? And now a lot of the senators and other high ranking people needs to be quarantined. And this comes at a time when the SCOTUS appointment is to be taken up next month.
2876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will another altcoin rise to overtaken Bitcoin? on: October 04, 2020, 12:34:47 PM
Bitcoin is now more than 12 years old and the current market dominance stands at 58%. The remainder 42% is not just comprised of altcoins, but also of Bitcoin Forks and Stablecoins. With every passing year, the Bitcoin dominance seems to be increasing. And this is despite the fact that Bitcoin was hard-forked multiple times in the past. And look at the competitors such as ETH and XRP. They don't look to be in good shape currently.
2877  Economy / Economics / Re: Trump's Economy or Biden’s Economy - which version is better. on: October 04, 2020, 12:27:25 PM
I have to agree here. As bad as trump may look with his idiotic ideas like that one with the president of Mexico financing the wall, but socialist ideas are much worse. Most of the EU is already liberal socialist because it's fashionable. Socialist ideals are the best when you want to buy your voters in a democratic system because the majority usually doesn't earn a lot and people are greedy in nature. You offer them some money for free they'll sell their souls.

If Biden is not bad enough, there is always a chance of Kamala Harris becoming the next president within the next 1-2 years. Biden is close to 80 years and I don't expect him to complete his first term. If something happens to him while he is at the office, then obviously Kamala is going to succeed him. And she is far more liberal and left-wing than Biden can ever be.
2878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 04, 2020, 12:19:17 PM
Although it a risk but i would suggest you to bet on CSK. They may have lost many matches and are not in good form at the moment but this is a do die match for them and they cannot afford another loss. They will make sure they win todays match and i will be betting on them today. It's worth taking the risk.

What's the point in making a bet in favor of CSK, when they seems to be in bad shape? Absence of Suresh Raina, and to an extent that of Harbhajan Singh had a negative impact on their team performance. And CSK is perhaps the only franchise, where the openers have not performed well until now. To be frank, a lot of people had pointed out the issues with CSK, such as the high average age of the players even before the start of the tournament.
2879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Was 2017 the "Golden Year of Crypto"? on: October 04, 2020, 12:13:09 PM
What happened in 2017 was once in a blue moon event. I don't think that it will repeat ever gain. Bitcoin went from $900 per coin to $20,000. Many of the altcoins went up by 100x and even 1000x. This created a lot many billionaires and millionaires out of thin air. The media coverage was mostly positive and as a result a lot of people invested in cryptocurrencies. Unfortunately, some of them made their investment in shitcoins and lost all of their capital.
2880  Economy / Economics / Re: Will African countries be developed? on: October 04, 2020, 12:07:28 PM
China is one interesting exception economy-wise, but they may project prosperity a lot more than may be experiencing it. For one, they have built giant ghost cities as a way to spur economic development, but there is not enough natural economic activity to support populating those cities and it may take decades to grow into them. Their control on information makes it difficult to assess. But for sure they posture like every other country to project strength that may not actually be there.

Yeah.. there are ghost cities in almost every province of China, and the Western media has covered some of these stories. The demand was there when these housing units were being constructed, but a sudden economic slump meant that there are few takers. And this is also one of the reasons why China is focusing on Africa. For them, Africa is a glowing economy, compared to China where it is at near saturation level.
