2881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: January 26, 2022, 02:13:05 PM
<...>

Chess is actually a very popular sport and its popularity is often overlooked. Actually, if you open twitch right now, you can see 35000 viewers watching people play chess right now. And this is also a really good way to learn and study.

yes, it's quite impressive to check number of online players on lichess too, usually it's never less than 50 thousand people sometimes reaching 115 thousand connected users ready to play (or playing)

Chess game is one of the best indoors sports even though this is not that type of physical but mental is the best weapon to defeat our enemy this sports also is the best way of trained our mental health and develop our strategy. That's why I salute all the chess players cause they are have a higher critical thinking .
That is true because in chess you have to think about every step that you are going to make. One wrong move can be in the game in an instant. And it takes an unbelievable amount of patience to play chess and also the view as need to be patient who wants to learn and get good on this game.

this is amazing, since chess have a huge amount of games that are recorded somehow (even if just text notation) one can observe how a player style evolve and change over time
quite good material for studying and learning
It is that with chess you can study all the time, there are moves that are masters and that are difficult to understand, sometimes I start looking and I start thinking what I would have done instead of the other player, and the possibilities that they open are too many, they are very calculated because reason, routine and invention must be combined a lot, it is something very global and that only the brain of each person is capable of assimilating, I have 2 friends from the university that I have never been able to beat them because They know a lot of theory and they always buy magazines and analyze the plays, the experience they have is unique and the most important thing is that when they play they do it very quickly while I try to go to their level, but it is very difficult.
Obviously to you learn in any game or sports you have to think about the mistakes and what you could have done better. Imagine if a pro is playing and he ends up losing against another pro, you have to think about where the mistake was made and what could have been done differently to avoid the outcome of losing. That's how people get better.

on lichess you can run your games through an AI after they happened so the AI can show you what were your mistakes, blunders serious errors, it's quite nice and you can learn a lot with it
you can even see how the advantage of each player changed during the match, sometimes you move a pawn that looks like something that won't hurt at all and this simple movement makes you lose 6 points in advantage (because you put a rook or queen at risk, as an example)

Oh, this has already happened.

Rollbits have their own Rollbot NFTs and I'm fairly sure that BetFury is also trying to dabble in that space.

I actually think that the DAO model makes a lot of sense for casinos - the people who own the bankroll should have a say in how the site is run through a governance token.

In my opinion, the DAO management model does not work the way users would like it to. We have seen more than once in more than one project, when project teams could influence this or that decision, which in their opinion should be made. So in my opinion DAO model is only creating the appearance of decentralized management, which is actually a deception, to put it mildly.
That's right, the concept of DAO on a gambling site is just a 'subtle scam' that the owners may intentionally set up for their customers. why I say this because when you have problems playing, depositing or withdrawing then the site owner can easily say that 'we are not involved with the business because we adopted the DAO concept' this is a subtle scam.

Yes, this situation is unfortunately possible.

DAO is a relatively new innovative management tool.  Therefore, various abuses are possible.  However, DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is a very promising form of online casino organization.

This may resolve government regulation issues in some jurisdictions.

People can organize DAOs and host poker tournaments on their own.  Acceptance of bets and fair payment of winnings will be guaranteed by a smart contract.

A fully decentralized online casino is a very interesting concept.

the casino DAO could have their own token and distribute part (or all of) their profits to stakers, a bit like what Looksrare marketplace is doing right now with NFTs and the vampire attack on opensea

interesting ideas to think about.

yes! I also prefer to find my own way and try to avoid copying
each person has an unique path, we can learn with others but it's impossible to live their lives or know 100% what they are going through

regarding control, when I see I'm getting to a repetitive pattern I try to break the behavior and stop doing it for a while, specially with games.
Developing your own way of gambling is best what will help us to go in this line otherwise copying others might be costly sometimes. For example if i try to copy some big gambler and bet high say $100 and loose it instantly then what will i do at that point because it's far more than what i afford to loose. So play according to yourself and enjoy it within limits.

yes! in gambling, investing and even in art I find it's more interesting to follow your own path instead of just copying

when it comes to money, you don't know others bankroll, position size and entry/exit points, information that can change everything.

Getting merit just because an artwork is incredibly done is not an issue. In fact, they deserved to be recognized and praised by others who were blown away by their work, especially for an artwork that required the integration of a brand and a roobet mascot. It's no problem
Exactly the artist who has put in efforts for that artwork only needs appreciation for them and it could be any format like merit or simply by saying it in words. The next big thing come if they win the competition then it's immense joy for them.So we need to appreciate the good works in any manner we like.

Yes, any appreciation is better than none. Take me for example. I've taken part in every RooBet art contest, and I've never won a single prize. But the process of creating something which can be called "art" is so pleasant that I participate in another contest, and then in another one. Now I know from my past experience that getting any money prize is highly unlikely for me, so I'm saying to my wife "I hope to earn some merit with it, at least". And I mean it. I value merits a lot, and I feel really happy when getting them. Smiley

totally agree with Betwrong

the day I received more merits here on the forum was on the 10th anniversary art contest from Theymos himself

I joined some contests by Roobet too and it was really fun, my main motivation is not only to get merits but these are a really nice extra incentive for participants.

Round 68 Payments have been sent out!

Thank you all for yet another great week, keep it up Smiley

We have 1x Hero Member position open, apply now!

Looking back on the Bitcointalk 10th Anniversary contest, receiving a fuck ton of merit from various members isn't an issue, whether it's from solicitation or organic appreciation. Still, a well-received piece of art is preferable than a shallow and meaningless post that was created out of thin air.

totally agree here
the problem would be people exchanging merit or trading it, probably not about the art or quality of the posts

isn't it a common ground that quality art/posts should receive merit?
seems like this is the reason for the merit system to exist

realmente @joker_josue

Vamos a segunda etapa...
Instalar o jogo e testar.  Roll Eyes

legal!
2889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: January 23, 2022, 04:48:34 PM

Well, I also support this motion, because I have seen that many chess players in recent times are very young and have great potential, even when I was at the University there were many children who always came and played in the chess club, under which they had a great level for their age, that is why I also assume that age does not matter much here, the intellectual level, strategy and plan that they can establish is unique, and each person thinks differently, and anyone from a young age he sees clearly what he will be as an adult and more so in any sport.

I think over time, your game will also evolve. Look at Carlsen for example: when he was young, he was a much more attacking player (sometimes maybe too attacking) but now he is more an allround player. It all comes with experience.

this is amazing, since chess have a huge amount of games that are recorded somehow (even if just text notation) one can observe how a player style evolve and change over time
quite good material for studying and learning

Attention > intention > desire > action

2891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: January 22, 2022, 11:41:04 AM

add to that the fact that many countries have regulations against gambling and don't even allow physical casinos
but would have no way to make online gambling forbidden (or phrasing it better: they can forbid it but have no way to enforce people will follow the rules)
but if you look at it now even though it is indeed prohibited but there is always access and there are lots of opportunities to gamble because, as you said, a ban might just be a ban without any real enforcement and this prohibition is just like a passing wind for people residing in countries where gambling is prohibited.

yes, the main point is that it'll be easier to enforce regulation on physical places than digital ones
in reality if there's no such thing like the great firewall or something like that it'll be almost impossible to enforce it on the digital realm
2892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who’s who in the gambling subforum? on: January 21, 2022, 02:28:19 PM
You are right, not all the time we have the same luck, one day we can wake up enlightened and with great luck that only in a few moves we can make a great winning streak, 'but other times we can have our mind at 1000% and we can still lose everything, nothing is written in this, gambling is like that, many times by leaving everything to chance you win more than playing with reason or patterns, in the case of poker it is different, because it focuses a lot on the technical part and I think there are more possibilities of achieving good results if the main theory we have is applied well.

This is why I do believe that being a gambler we should not only stick to our skills because luck is still there, and be confident enough and expecting to always win on the area that you know in yourself you are very good at it because if it's not your lucky day then man this will surely not your day. Being an active gambler we would definitely be going to experience losses and winning. So it is better that we already have a skill to ourselves to accept any circumstances, losses, and failures because this is all part of the game.

the thing is observing the difference between skill games that have a luck component and pure luck games
I prefer the former
each person will find their way on a different style, this is life
it's nice

Gambling on FIAT casinos don't even make any sense anymore. It is funny to say this but playing on crypto casinos is somehow not as risky.  There are many crypto casinos with a good reputation and the chances of getting screwed over by them is nearly non-existent if you play on one of those good casinos. FIAT casinos are too problematic and even if the casino didn't do anything wrong, their regulators will keep bothering them.

add to that the fact that many countries have regulations against gambling and don't even allow physical casinos
but would have no way to make online gambling forbidden (or phrasing it better: they can forbid it but have no way to enforce people will follow the rules)

bem legal a ideia!

2897  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: O preço sobe e desce, eis o que fazer on: January 20, 2022, 02:16:19 PM

Unpopular opinion, if your portfolio is < than $1000 you shouldn’t be spot buying BTC.

Might as well go hard on solid alts or go home.

this number should be a lot higher, prob 30-50k is when you should stop jamming all of it in single degen plays
<...>
I will say tho at this point if you're sub 100k you should be putting all of it to work in NFTs.

well, OP is anon so he/she could have many reasons to share it here
from building reputation to making connections... maybe?

here is a good place to find like-minded people in terms of gambling.

I wonder if you are able to win hundreds of thousands of dollars, then why do you need a reputation anywhere and any connections? Why do you even need publicity? If I was capable of making that kind of money betting I wouldn't brag about it either in real life or on the forum, I can't think of any reason why I would want to do it.

I wouldn't either
but remember that people have different aspirations, just because we would chose not to do something it doesn't mean that other people would do the same choice.

the best way to learn more about @NAPK1NS_RA3 reasons is... to ask!

Actually I don't what will the regulators next approach on the next generation Online Casino since most of them is moving toward Web 3.0 format which is a completely decentralized. I wonder how can they still regulate or required KYC procedure for gamblers that playing on exceeding amount of the required for the KYC.

Web 3.0 sphere.  may also be subject to regulatory restrictions.

Creators of Web 3.0.  they are living people.  They may be fined.  They can be repressed.  They can be put in jail.  web 3.0.  it is a direct competitor to the modern financial system.  Currently, online casinos can plan to work in web 3.0.  without KYC, AML, etc.  However, this may not be possible in the future.

Perhaps there will be an anonymous and confidential web 3.0.  based on Monero and Tari.  There will be no KYC and AML.

this will happen both ways and we'll also have bridges between both worlds.

I don't know Tari but remember that there are also obfuscation tools for transactions on many other networks, even the big ones like BTC and ETH
