2882  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchanges dont allow third party transfer, a friend cant send btc to my wallet? on: December 14, 2021, 09:05:15 AM
Please somebody enlighten me here.
Exchanges do not accept so-called third-party transfers when trying to fund a wallet.
But does that mean when I already have a wallet, say a friend who owes me money, could not send bitcoin to my wallet address?
If that was so, how is it then possible that hackers could send the stolen funds to their wallet address, as the stolen  funds were of course kept under a different name?
Or how can people ask for donations by giving their wallet address, as I have a different name than the owner of the wallet asking for donations?
So what is the deal here if an exchange claims that third-party funding is not allowed?
Its all about depositing fiat from your bank account and there is no such thing called BTC from third party since no one can verify who is the owner of the address so exchange will never have such restrictions. And also you can withdraw BTC to your desired address but you can't do that with fiat and actually this is why we have cryptocurrencies.
2883  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: [Help] Failed Message While Buying Bitcoin via Blaochain.com( debited) on: December 12, 2021, 03:16:03 PM
I hope the blockchain.com will resolve this and if they never replied to any of your requests even after waiting for a week then I would prefer you to claim chargeback for the particular transaction from the credit card issuer which can be a bank or private finance company but you can dispute the transaction and they will contact the payment processor and you may find some solution there.
2884  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whats the point hodling, if you can't risk it all? on: December 12, 2021, 12:02:22 PM
Being smart is more good than being an agressor, I will look to save my asset value if I am not seeing the progress in it. But before all these things we have to only invest what we beleive that it has potential to show progress in the future so we trust it and take the risk, either it may goes to 100 or zero when it comes to HODL altcoins. Well, I might follow a strategy if the price fell 50% I will not take the risk anymore better I will go with the proven coin which js Bitcoin and make a bet on it for long term.
2885  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful of lies on: December 12, 2021, 07:33:25 AM
This is just a promotion from my point of view so I won't blame binance for doing promotions about what they have in their platform, Margin trading is nothing but trading without the money we own so we are putting more risk which should be realized by the trader because for the exchange they will concentrate on their revenue and that is the ultimate goal of every company.
2886  Other / Meta / Re: User Generated Most Merited Thread(OP)|| Post Your Most Merited Thread(OP) Here on: December 11, 2021, 09:34:45 PM
Am I the only one who started to feel, we can see more related topics related to merits in the recent times which wasn't like that for a while now started again. What is going to be the purpose of a thread to collect most merited first post of threads in bitcointalk?...

And you know, the list will become too long if everyone started to post their threads here and it is also not real fit in the meta section to discuss here better move it to B&H. i am not discouraging you but I don't understand the purpose of this because a first post of a thread received more number of merits doesn't mean all other threads were useless to discuss and what about the replies which got most merits which may contain more merits because it may give the actual solution if the thread is created for asking any query related to cryptocurrencies or others.
2887  Other / Meta / Re: Would be nice to have a dedicated space to exchange on the NFTs? :) on: December 11, 2021, 02:28:59 PM
Hi Support,
Any chance to add a section dedicated to the NFTs?

I will support a section for discussion related to NFTs. They might be the next big thing and it will be better if the forum is prepared for it in advance.
Did you have same thoughts when ICO, IEO, STO, DEFI and now NFT? So bitcointalk has to create new section for every few months because their hype only lasts that much longer. Cheesy
2888  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: TA190 SCAMER !!! MODERATORS PLEASE TELL HIM GET MY MONEY BACK OR BAN HIM ! on: December 11, 2021, 03:33:30 AM
"Scams are not moderated here", so no mod or admin will ban him for scamming someone here but we have trust system here to find the trustworthiness of the people you are going to trade with so its your responsibility to make decisions about whether you want to trade with someone or not and you have to face the consequences.

And you also can open scam accusation against the person who scammed you on the scam accusations section and DT members will tag them if you got valid proof to claim your accusations. But you lost the money and no one can do anything about it.
2889  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF I SEND BTC TO A FRIEND/FAMILY, DOES IT MEAN THEY CAN KNOW MY WALLET BALANCE? on: December 10, 2021, 03:32:10 PM
and to the extreme it is also possible to find the wallet ID and find all other addresses belongs to that wallet if I am not wrong.
There is no such thing as a "Wallet ID" when it comes to the bitcoin protocol. Any centralized service which provides you with a "Wallet ID" is simply using it to process logins to their website or system. It is not recorded anywhere on the blockchain. Further, knowing a single address from one wallet does not allow you to calculate any of the other addresses within that wallet. You might be able to work out (with some assumptions) other connected addresses by looking at different addresses being used as inputs together in the same transaction, but if someone is careful not to link addresses in this way, then you might not be able to tell anything at all.
Most people don't really give attention to the spend from one specific address and that is why the dust attacks are still happening to trace the wallet balance it can be only avoided by freezing the particular address if we are using the non custodial wallet. But still there is a possibility to trace if the inputs are coming from multiple addresses so we can assume that it belongs to same wallet, sorry if I am kind of messed with because whenever I am talking technically I get confused what I am really trying to say  Roll Eyes
2890  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can I get my address back? on: December 10, 2021, 02:52:26 PM
You will never get the same address back again as far as I know, these kind of wallets will always give you a new address but it doesn't mean that you can't use your old address to deposit to the same custodian wallet but you have to make sure that do they provide any time frame for expiry of previously used address. In LBC old addresses will exists for 12 months after that you may not get funds if you send money to them but with coinbase it never expires you can see all the previously generated address when you login to the desktop version of your wallet.
2891  Economy / Economics / Re: The gold confiscation of 1933 on: December 10, 2021, 01:27:39 PM
This is an episode of the US history that is known yet perhaps not widely enough. The executive order 6102 signed by the US president Roosevelt, basically confiscated all the privately held gold in the US giving a clearly insufficient compensation.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Order_6102

Actually I didn't know that, something like this happened in the history so yes your thread is going to serve the actual purpose of creation.

Imagine, what will happen if same kind of law has been passed in 2021 or 2025? It will create a chaos for sure among the people and there is possibility of such law can be passed at any time because government solely hold power to do anything as what they want. Yes, bitcoin may save but governments already broke the anonymity by stick KYC regulations for the exchanges so they will know who actually have bitcoin in their portfolio or can sentence the penalty if the people didn't obey them.
2892  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Source Aplication for Local Board Indonesia- skarais on: December 10, 2021, 09:20:13 AM
Indonesian board is one of the very active local board of I am not wrong which I noticed from some of the statistical based threads but personally I don't understand the bahasa (language) but I have/had a lot of friends from that country who were working with me in my past so I just know few words but don't understand it properly.

Still I will support it if its really needed, and already lot of others shown their support so hopefully theymos will have a look at it and decide what will be the best.
2893  Other / Archival / Re: Self-moderation in topics with financial relations on: December 09, 2021, 03:34:37 PM
I support this idea because for all the years I have been here I watched lot of self moderated threads managed by scammers to deceive the newbies especially in the digital goods section if I am not wrong. Newbies may not understand the trust system completely that is why they are still falling for them.

If we think that spam messages may annoy with such feature still the thread creator can use the report to moderator button to remove them. Yes it add more job for the mods but atleast some people can be saved from losing money to those scammers.

Anyway the flag system may work as a warning for now, if newbies are trading by avoiding those warning then they may deserve to get the lesson by paying something.  Roll Eyes
2894  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many people are using bitcoin wallets? on: December 09, 2021, 11:34:53 AM
Are offline wallets safe?
Yes, but it depends on what kind of wallet it is, there are some shady wallets available which claims that they are the best but they simply steal your money so choose your wallet wisely. One person can hold million wallets so its not really possible to find how many people are using ir having Bitcoin wallets and even if we find the answer for this question its really useless.
2895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Q:Why isn't the Shocking Ethereum Fees discussed more in Media? A:... on: December 09, 2021, 09:43:36 AM
I believe because most 'Investors' in the space that have just arrived from Wall Street or Sherwood Forest are buying and selling nominal Ethereum on the Exchanges without ever performing an onchain action. Ethereum is utterly broken and 2.0 may never come.

Do you think this is a fair appraisal?
It isn't a new thing that is why its not really shocking and most whales never cared about even the fee is $100 because they are dealing in millions so only the small investors are affected and get stuck with their token value is less than the gas fee required to transfer. ETH 2.0 is expected to come and solve this issue for sure but until that investors will stick or move on with some loss.
2896  Economy / Economics / Re: I think most people still trust the USD more than Bitcoin on: December 09, 2021, 08:28:40 AM
Still bitcoin is new so it will eventually takes time to fade away the influence of fiat which exists here for few centuries but the bitcoin and cryptocurrencies made an impact already that is why we all are talking about it and government is trying to suppress the bitcoin with the ban of exchanges, huge taxes, high regulation, deanonymizing via exchange KYC procedures.
2897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF I SEND BTC TO A FRIEND/FAMILY, DOES IT MEAN THEY CAN KNOW MY WALLET BALANCE? on: December 09, 2021, 07:32:30 AM
Bitcoin blockchain is publicly available so anyone have your address can enter into the blockchain explorers and find the history of the address, remaining balance and all and to the extreme it is also possible to find the wallet ID and find all other addresses belongs to that wallet if I am not wrong. So if you don't want anyone to know your address then you have to mix the coins before sending for that lot of ways are available or simply you can send funds from an exchange so that they will never know your personal address.
2898  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please, help me understand. on: December 08, 2021, 02:12:14 PM
~we should wait until our expected price to reach but with lack of patience the panic sell button will be kicked so we choose to sell the altcoins for a loss which can be avoided with little patience if we have.
That's the problem with altcoin market, there is no "expected price". For example for the past 4 years a lot of users have been waiting for their "expected price" to be reached in the large number of shitcoins they've bought such as ETH reaching 0.15 again and none of them have been able to reach any of those "expected prices" and anyone who had "patient" has been a 4+ year old bag holder who has lost between 50% to 98% of their money already.
I remember ETH was at $100 or little above but after that it reached new height of crossing over $4K which is actually 400% rise that is what the investors should look into. But if they purchased other shitcoins which cost a dollar year ago doesn't even have any value now that is why Bitcoin is best ever for long term than trusting those cheap coins.
2899  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise or fall. on: December 08, 2021, 12:18:07 PM
Its just a December offer you will get 20% discount on $60K so its actually 50K at the moment actually this is inspired from someone's Avatar. Smiley

Bitcoin may rise or fall which can't be predicted by anyone to be honest, next question please.
2900  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will there be no more topics to write about? on: December 08, 2021, 08:25:49 AM
We already discussed a lot about bitcoin and the blockchain technology a lot, technical knowledge and trading strategies etc but this is not the end because I beleive the real adoption is yet to come so we will have lot of discussion about the adoption, regulations and how governments are approaching the Bitcoin discussion, etc. Probably less topics but with more actual reason for discussing not just for the sake of discussion.
