2881  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Satochip] Limited Edition - Hardware wallet on a chip card + NFT. on: June 01, 2022, 10:37:51 PM
I would like them better if they worked without the card reader - but I do hear that is supposed to be solved soon? if not already?
2882  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] Krypto Keepsafes on: June 01, 2022, 10:36:47 PM
Oh I got all the ones I ordered as well - the packages were crushed but I removed them from them anyways and put them in airtites - but my question is more about the statement about replacing the polkadot ones with the updated and valid ones as the ones sent have invalid addresses.
2883  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Auction - Papersafe Wallet and Cas Coloured Aluminium coin set on: June 01, 2022, 12:25:34 PM
No need - i checked its balance by scanning the address on it so was aware prior to my bid

2888  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcoin/Crypto sticker collection on: May 28, 2022, 09:31:22 PM
I don't see this sticker in your Moparmining & cygan collection and I know you have it haha  Grin

mine is still in the box Smiley I wouldnt break up that set just to put it in a frame with the others.
2889  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcoin/Crypto sticker collection on: May 28, 2022, 12:11:18 PM
my stickers are loosely framed (they are not peeled/stuck but have a small pieced of double sided tape on the back of each to hold them in place) I dont have them sorted or named in any fashion though - some are by some well known Bitcoin artists and others are just generic stickers handed out from conferences or that I received with various shipments. In with some of the stickers are also Pins (most from btcpins) and doodles done by Bitcoin Penny. At the end there are comic strips I kept from a 2021 Dilbert calendar where all the comics were about "Bitcoin"

Some of them are even from companies I detest (Binance for example) - I have them simply to collect/preserve

The final image is my biggest "sticker" its 2 foot by 2 foot and is more like a sign but it is quite sticky on the back so I am going to call it my largest sticker.

I apologize for the pics quality/angles/lighting these are all up on my office walls

2892  Economy / Collectibles / Re: DO NOT BUY FROM BCMINT.com on: May 28, 2022, 02:05:44 AM

To me, the loaded coins/tokens/objects have an allure about them that the others just don't and typically won't.  Also, for the most part, a DIY loses tradability once assembled, really no fun in that.  If one is going the route of cold storage and being their own bank for their sats, then DIY makes more sense.

I wont disagree on that aspect of the allure. But really, the tradability is the same - you still have to trust that the person holding it (not the manufacturer) did not tamper with/compromise/replace the private key - while not super easy, it is also not impossible to remove a holo, scan the private key and replace the holo without someone able to tell - can the average person do it? probably not. But it has been done.

Basically, unless you buy from the manufacturer you have no way to know it is still intact and untampered with - you go from trusting the manufacturer to trusting every single person who laid fingers on it.

To each their own - I guess maybe a compromise would be to offer it both ways - the manufacturer loses nothing to sell it as a DIY.

edit:

"Not your keys, not your coins". Stay vigilant, never put more on someone else's keys that you can't afford to lose.

I whole heartedly agree with the above.

Every key I have generated for anyone - I have said the above to - almost verbatim.
2893  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Interesting new coin for sale on Etsy - 3d printed. on: May 28, 2022, 12:39:28 AM
my concern would be the keys - they generate them and save them to files and convert to print files then send to printer and then delete - that means there are at one time possibly 2 files containing the keys and they are deleted. I wonder if either the machine that generates the keys or the one that prints them is ever online.
2894  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [2 DAY AUCTION] 1 YEAR EDITION MOON PASS Fine Silver 999.9 on: May 28, 2022, 12:37:01 AM
never saw where the moonpass holders could buy one - missed it though I would have probably passed unless it could be unloaded.
2895  Economy / Collectibles / Re: DO NOT BUY FROM BCMINT.com on: May 28, 2022, 12:35:45 AM
Ad MrCryptHodl:

It occured to me, that solution to this whole issue might be simply stop selling your coins and ingots loaded... I mean even Max Mellenbruch (Kialara, IMHO the very top tier of DIY coins) sells his stuff unfunded and it's upon a buyer whether to load it or not. I personally trust you (hopefully rightly ;-) but doing this would stop the discussion as a whole. <- Just an idea, feel free to disregard it

So yes the next step was DIY and/or "buyer funded" such as Kialara or AlpenCoin! But the replacement is not planned!  Grin If one day I stop making loaded coins, it's because no one wants them anymore, but not because someone isn't happy, someone who has never bought one of my collectibles.  Grin

Btw thank you for your trust and support ! always really appreciate !

I would prefer all makers to offer DIY versions -after all, bitcoin is about "dont trust, verify" so everyone should really make their own keys and not trust the maker of any keys. That being said, we all have at one point or another done so and/or still do so.

Me personally would prefer all to be DIY

thank you for the raffle and congrats to the 4 winners!
2897  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Interesting new coin for sale on Etsy - 3d printed. on: May 27, 2022, 04:42:57 PM
this process is not like typical 3d printing as seen on yours krogoth - it does a layering system where it lays down a layer of "powder" or "filament" like dust and then uses lasers to precisely target and melt the filament together. once completed you then have to sweep away all the left over filament from the item.

My guess is that somewhere during the process they pause it and add the key and then continue the print - thus truly enclosing the key and requiring it to be broken to expose the key.
2898  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Interesting new coin for sale on Etsy - 3d printed. on: May 27, 2022, 02:28:03 PM
I hope this is OK to post here.  I found this on Etsy and thought it was an interesting concept, a 3d printed coin:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/1228356797/bitcoin-wallet-with-unique-serial-number?ref=cart

I ordered 2 out of curiosity and wanted to share for others to see. I was wondering if anyone knew of the company.

Thanks!
Mark

saw these thru some where else - interesting. very expensive printers used for this as well. I would not buy their loaded ones though. just the unloaded.
2899  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] NastyPool 1g .999 Fine Silver Collector's Rounds (2014) - 0.001 BTC on: May 27, 2022, 04:36:48 AM
I've received a good amount of interest in these coins and I do still have a small bag of them left.  I guess people have been selling them for enormous markups on eBay recently so I've decided to update the price (reduced it by x10) and officially offer them for sale again while supplies last.  I'll also be updating the other 1g silver coin thread in the near future, but you can find them here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=273629.0

PM me if you're interested in purchasing.

I would like to purchase 2 of these - but cannot pm you as you have my pm's blocked and may even have me on ignore.

The way he is suggesting is fine with me - it is his raffle after all. As long as it is fair and unbiased and you cant get much more unbiased then using a block to determine winners.
