Announcement: BFL ASIC - Release specifications
Butterfly Labs reveals final performance specifications for it's revolutionary ASIC hardware.

BitForce Jalapeno - 4.5gh/s @ 4.5w
BitForce Single SC - 60 GH/s @ 60w
BitForce MiniRig SC - 1,500 GH/s @ 1,500w

Power figures are +/- 10% of those listed while we finish optimizing our power subsystem.

NEW An as yet named 'Little Single' device which will hash at a rate of 30 GH/s and cost USD $649.00.

You may notice that these performance figures exceed that of our previously published specification by approximately 50%. Our intention was to eventually over deliver while also being conservative during development. We had planned to reserve this performance increase for a future firmware update and was one method we planned to use to protect our customers in the event of a price war. However, due to the maturity of our development and competition in the market, we felt it was time to clarify what customers will actually receive both in speed and particularly in power consumption so they can properly evaluate their options and make good decisions. We hope it's now easier to understand the closed lip approach of our ASIC line product development.

A pledge to our customers: Butterfly Labs has always been committed to our customers. With the transition to ASIC from FPGA, we offered a 100% buyback program on the purchase price of your FPGA units towards the purchase of one of our ASIC units. This is an offer currently unmatched by any other manufacturer. People have asked why would we do this? We do this because our mission is to stand behind our customers and preserve the value of their hardware investment through all market changes, now and in the future. Simply put, you can count on us to protect your mining investment.

In summary, all current orders are automatically 4.5 GH/s - 60 GH/s or 1.5 TH/s devices. You need do nothing, just wait for delivery.

Our Value pledge: As always, our focus has been on offering the most competitive product, both in terms of initial price but also the most competitive TCO in the industry. Our current power consumption targets for our first generation ASIC products are approximately 1 GH per watt, far and away the lowest power consuming units available at any price. Not only will our products perform faster than any other product currently available, it will also cost less to run now and in the future. As with our FPGA products, when the time comes for our second generation ASIC products, we will not forget our customers and will make every effort to transition you, the customer, to the second generation ASIC as easily, quickly and in the most cost effective manner as possible.

lol looks like the bASIC is worrying BFL?

More likely they're getting later into the development process, and they're getting more realistic numbers.

They were conservative (same way bASIC was). Competition arrived, now they are less conservative.

Way to meet the competition head on and not leave those who have pre-ordered rethinking their investment.

I still want to see what the MH/s per Watt will be on all ASIC offerings.

Interesting times ahead.

Inaba would rather act like a 5 year old then defend his companies products. Makes me wonder, does he even know the tech behind what hes responsible for advertising. From the looks of it, hes just a paid for mouthpiece.

Before he or anybody else comes back with a "neither do you", need i remind you, i'm not the one pre-selling...

Whats there to defend?

DO you know something that WE Don't?

We being the ones that are customers?

WE BEING THE ONES THAT TRY TO KEEP BITCOIN from being taken over by select groups???

Please help us out and stop picking needless fights.

EDIT: This is not just for CJGoodings Smiley its for all trolls

This is amazing news. Faster and cheaper than bfl.

In all fairness, time will tell what Mh/s per watt will be on the different ASIC devices.

True. Assuming the cost of hardware per hash rate will vary by a factor of 2 across the various competition,  the power per hash still seems like it will be the arguably as important (if not more).

I really woud like to see the specs for this hardware.

||bit

If I were to speculate on power consumption based on past offering would be at 60 watt to 80 watt per 54GH/s device..

P.S. Carbon credits anyone?

Where did fairness ever come into the equation?

The BFL people themselves i.e. BFL, not the paid fanboys, keep saying theirs is the fastest yet they don't have any numbers to make that statement ...

Technically, bASIC IS the fastest and cheapest - since bASIC's is the only one so far anyone has actually run and tried to make it clear that they have run and tested an actual working device that can give them a reasonable estimate of the final device (with details of their process up to that point)
1TH/s is the fastest available, technically. Wink

Well true at this time based purely on claims that I have no doubt are true. The bASIC offering is leading Mh/s per $.

Edit: 19 of these devices at 1069.99 every 54Gh/s = 1026Gh/s for only  $20,329.81

So they have around 9% network hashing power...

How massive of a supercomputer would they have to use to get 2 TH/s?  And does anyone know if they HAVE a supercomputer at that university?

4 more weeks and their efforts are in vain.

Geez man.  Freaking tanked.  Rate of namecoin domain names went with it.  Geez.   Would be nice if be able to get a few dollars for each coin.  Im gathering a decent stash.
Someone needs to come a long and buy a sh/tload of the market up.

you got your wish.

2892  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: "Avalon" ASIC, announcement & pre-order start. VERY important notice updated on: September 22, 2012, 05:45:30 PM
Will you accept MtGox codes for payments ?

I've already sold my BTCs in preparation of a big sell off.

19 hours to go  ... Cheesy

I did something like that at 6.4 getting ready for my SC Preorder.... Look were the price went after that! Cheesy

I truly thank you for your efforts. However people always seem to criticize everything "haters gonna hate"

There is no way to 100% co-oberate anything that is posted on the internet.

Only time will tell.

Sonny, there are optimists and pessimists. You are an optimist much like myself.

I would like to add that your post will help me to avoid the difficult to please, "Negative thinking People" on the forums.
2895  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Announcement] Butterfly Labs on: September 20, 2012, 04:44:04 PM
I hope BFL will not bother responding to provocations and accusations - that is not what this forum is for.
+1

Yes. With the newer version 8.2 the BAMT rigs are now happy campers.

Using 0.8.3 and yes happy campers Cheesy
2897  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2500 GH] BTC Guild - Pure PPS Merged Mining, now testing STRATUM Mining on: September 20, 2012, 04:03:22 PM
With new 8.2 I am not having anymore problems with the slower miners or the BAMT rigs.
Same
running 0.8.3 and working good.
2898  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2500 GH] BTC Guild - Pure PPS Merged Mining, now testing STRATUM Mining on: September 20, 2012, 03:27:23 PM
Sitarow - I just released 0.8.3 which suppress annoying message about share below difficulty. Update, if it will scary you, otherwise 0.8.2 is fine :-).
I seen that lol
2899  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2500 GH] BTC Guild - Pure PPS Merged Mining, now testing STRATUM Mining on: September 20, 2012, 03:13:59 PM
Ok, so the diff is for the farm not the individual worker? On the proxy I get a share aprox ever 5 sec. So I guess this is correct.

Exactly. Difficulty is per Stratum connection, not per worker.

Quote
Just for kicks. I started a windows Stratum and connected the one worker I was having problems with. Now it is working nicely with no errors. This any help?

Are you sure your first Stratum proxy is on latest version? I'm doing some tweaks many times per day (there are so many stupid bugs in various miners!), so updating stratum frequently is quite a good idea.

I'll release 0.8.2 in few moments, where higher difficulty won't be propagated to the miners.

Okay I will download and run that see if it helps.
2900  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2500 GH] BTC Guild - Pure PPS Merged Mining, now testing STRATUM Mining on: September 20, 2012, 03:12:14 PM
Some of my slower miners (215MHash/s) are taking 15+ minutes to turn in a share.  This does not seem good. Also getting HW errors on cards that have never had HW errors before.

I am having the same HW Errors. They are a pain to keep ontop of.

Also are you using phoenix miner?
