Bump... The source code was released, so I don't see anything wrong with giving the reward out now.

Half the number of SP in 7970 -> ~280-350MH/s, 130W TDP
4 of these in a rig will do >1GH/s at ~500W TDP

GK104 will have 1536 stream processors clocked at 1GHz.
Here's my totally speculative math:
A GTX 570 with 480 SP at 732MHz gets about 150 MH/s, or 0.3125 MH s^-1 SP^-1.
Scaling linearly with clock speed, we would expect 0.4269 MH s^-1 SP^-1 at 1GHz.
For 1536 SPs, that's 656 MH/s at an estimated TDP of 200w.
Of course, it's likely that these new SPs will be a little slower than the old ones, but even if they're 30% slower they should still be competitive with AMD cards.

This is the final full version that includes the source code and not the limited "demo" version. This is the real thing. People need to switch to LTC right now because it is much more profitable than BTC ( especially for Nvidia cards ).
Can someone publish some numbers for Nvidia please (especially interested in seeing GTX580 numbers)? Sooo depressing mining at kh/s instead of Mh/s though... A 580 will probably get about 160kh/s

Something is definitely up with Litecoin the last few hours. This afternoon, my litecoin client on my workstation was making tons of connections and downloading an awful lot of data. My P2Pool node on a different server that runs litecoind is also doing a lot of disk IO. Not sure what to make of it, but it is abnormal.
It's a massive DoS attack, multiple pool owners are apparently reporting it now on BTC-e

update: dextrosomniac: is that [dos attacks] what's going on with pool-x pooler? pooler: dextrosomniac: yes, and my pools has also been dos'ed Apparently all litecoin pools are being DDoS'd right now, including p2pool nodes: Boognish: yea it's not just pools, my P2Pool nodes were effected too

Then either you have completely misread the chart or the chart is wrong.
It was buggy earlier tonight and was showing LTC pool at 61%+ of the network... it may just be a problem on Pool-X's chart.
|
|
|
pooler your pool is 51% attacking the network It may just be some kind of wacky bug with Pool-X, which now indicates I'm mining at 1200% capacity (?), but it does highlight the importance of p2pool in protecting the block chain.

Coblee. If you're working on something can you at least let us know? I'm starting to think that litecoin has been abandoned.
I've been working on putting p2pool in the client, but I'm no longer sure if there's enough demand for that. Let me open this up. What do people think needs to be improved with Litecoin? If the chain lasts longer than tonight that p2pool default mining should definitely be implemented... According to the pool-x pie chart all the pools except litecoinpool.org and p2pool appear to be getting DDoS'd right now. Having the bulk of mining in a decentralized pool should mitigate the likelihood of a single pool host 51% attacking by DDoSing the other private pools.

|
|
um Oh look, litecoin.miningpool.com is on the verge of a 51% attack... I guess everyone should switch to p2pool before it's too late.

Anyone else having big problems with their servers lately? Round Shares Your Valid: 5828 Your Stale: 3289, 56.43% Pool Valid: 133361 Pool Stale: 28856, 21.64% That's with my miners that have been on constantly with no change to the hardware or disconnections/power offs...

Hey guys, There are reports coming in of fried cards from the memory overheating on them. Be careful mining litecoin if you have no heatsinks on your memory (most reference designs that are rear exhaust do), check and make sure with a thermal diode that your memory isn't at a really high temperature.

What was your parameters for kernel?
default, i didn't play with it all.

Litecoin BotNet edition?
Just wait until he implements the new "remote installation" feature.

Okay, updated to the beta drivers and it compiles now.
I get about 55kh/s with a GTX460 and 120 kh/s with a GTX570.
Kepler is coming out soon, which is supposed to have about 3 times the amount of stream processors. This should put Kepler GPUs somewhere competitive with AMD ones.

Could you boot into Windows, compile a binary for that card, boot back into your Unix distro(?), then let it go on that end? Bitcoin miner does work, just not stably with VLC in the background. Still cannot connect to servers with Litecoin. Tried that, same difference. This is with both GTX 460s and 570s.

I'm on unix, I'll let it hang until it takes up 16GB of memory but it did that yesterday and nothing happened. A CUDA native code miner like bitcoinminercuda.cu would be nice. :/ Hopefully mrlrt can fix this.

Compiling beta 3 with nVidia card again, still doesn't work. I get: List of platforms: 0 NVIDIA CUDA Using platform number 0
Using all devices 0 GeForce GTX 570 Compiling kernel... this could take up to 2 minutes.
...same as before. The program hangs here and then just leaks memory like crazy (~5MB/s).

Yup... Got a 6870 undervolted to 1000mV @ 850MHz and it's doing 280 kh/s and stays in the 60C's at only 50% fan speed.
What are your litecoin.conf settings? stock
