Will people start mining if it takes an hour per block and 894 blocks or 37 days for the difficulty to go down? Currently the diff is around 2, but the next diff will be 0.03. Is there a way to speed it up?

The dev is planning on working on the wallet this weekend. We hope he is able to compile new wallets to have a working one again. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Hope he can fix it. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I can't get this wallet to work. The conf file is properly named and in the proper appdata folder. Never had a problem adding conf files for other wallets before. I have disabled antivirus and firewall. I have added nodes manually via the debug window and it tells me the nodes are already added. Still it won't sync or acquire an active connection. This is on both vista and 7 machines.
Ok, please restart your wallet again. We've refresh our node. It has more than 20 active connections now. Sorry for that inconvenience. Mine works! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

did anyone speak to the dev? any news?
What do people want to talk to the dev about? News regarding what? The dev's already made and launched the coin, the coin has a faucet, video, give away, website, pools, is listed on exchanges, has a block explorer, the source code is available, there are pre-compiled wallets, unclaimed bounties, links to stand alone mining applications, links to some social network sites, the dev has outlined a plan and provided direct contact details. What more?? @derrend First of all, thanks for your understanding. We strongly believe QuarkBar will be the next big thing, but we can't do it alone. As known,we have already done most of things which a cryptocurrency needed. What QuarkBar needs now is the whole community work together. Every little thing counts and small actions will add up to make this coin a huge success. In addition, we will also buy some QB as the bounty for your help. So send pm to us about what exactly you would be able to do and let us work together to make QB a real huge success! I would like to take on the challenge to help this coin. I have a pretty good idea why this coin isn't catching on: There is no story or reason behind it. It needs a short description to promote it. I would say it is the following things: - Secure: 9 rounds of hashing - Rare: Only 15 million available - Fair: No premine and Kimoto Gravity Well - Quick: 30 seconds per block From this I made a banner that hopefully better explains the coin ( you can find it at https://i.imgur.com/B87XMoN.jpg): ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FB87XMoN.jpg&t=663&c=iaAOUWixozMH9g) The downsides: - Hard to mine for noobs. They are more used to renting rigs and mine scrypt, Scrypt-N or SHA-3 coins Solution: Get a clear explanation on the website to explain how it works like: http://www.quarkcoins.com/mining-quarkcoin.html- No Premine, so no marketing Solution: Get the community involved and reward them in a Hall of Fame on your website. This is free and considerate to the amount of time they invested. - Nothing wrong with it. I know, a perfect coin is nice, but does not create a lot of discussion on bitcointalk. SOlution: Get the community involved and let them discuss the future of the coin. Implementing proof of stake could be a good next step for example.

Is there a later wallet out there for WIN other than Feb 6 2014, 21:35:42
I don't think so. Hopefully somebody will stand up and compile a wallet with the source. Nice bounty, but I have no clue how to do that. We have 200k available for this! Great this is nice ! It should be enough!! I hope so ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) 200K at its current value is 0.022BTC = $13.57USD A value that will likely increase once there is a new wallet. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Got the same conf.
Where did u put the genesis.conf? It has to be copied to the same directory as the wallet.dat. Maybe open it as windows7 compatible?
I tried renaming the conf, open the wallet in W7 compatibility and it all didn't work. I have a lot of wallets and never had this problem.

No problem here with the wallet qt in windows xp.
I have Windows 8, so maybe that causes problems. What did you put in your conf? I have: rpcuser=genesiscoin rpcpassword=genesiscoinsecretpassword rpcport=44669 rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 server=1 listen=1 daemon=1 addnode=123.18.212.164 addnode=49.107.103.108 addnode=113.168.151.242 addnode=46.0.33.176 addnode=42.118.144.33

I bet it fell because no one knows about it. The only reason I found it was because I was buying a different coin and had a small fraction of a BTC left. The transaction fee was going to kill most of it so I said what the heck lets buy a coin that is cheap and has a low coin cap. To me it is a hail mary I was not planing on getting my BTC now I almost have 10000 of this coin and if it goes up I win.
The market cap for the total amount of the coin is 0.00000063 * 15,482,880 = 9,7 BTC and for the current mined amount 5,600,000 it would be 3 BTC. Very strange that is so low. I think I will add this coin to my thread at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=519170.msg5741964#msg5741964 to give it more attention ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Please share your experiences there to support the coin.

I have never seen a coin so underpriced. Quark alogo, kimoto gravity, two week block halving (one of which has happened already) and 30 second block times. $15 million market cap put's them at $1 each which in not a totally unrealistic target within the next few years as the crypto currency scene becomes more popular. Amazing.
Why did this coin fall so fast?

I tried getting the wallet synched with the nodes from the site and placing the conf file in the directory, but nothing is happening. Sorry, the market pair DUCK/BTC is offline. Anybody knows what's going on at cryptorush? I believe it has to do with them removing dead coins, i.e. coins with little to no volume. Cryptorush tweeted earlier, "We are currently in the process of weeding low volume markets out." Market is back up! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Thanks guys. clearly "makemebeat" has no clue about what he is talking about. I did the math, read the order book and sold it all. If i want, I can buy it all back for cheaper than what I sold it for. Not a bad return for a few days of mining.
exactly... I've been a contributing member of this community for a while, but I know a good business decision when I see it. The price was artificially high and unstable. The price is now too low, but stable for the moment and will eventually rise again. I sold and I'm buying back now. I will end up with the same number of coins, plus a new mining rig. Dumping means selling and getting out of the game with your profit. Selling high and buying back low is just good business. That being said, its almost time to buy back in. I've been watching coin trends for a while now and I've come up with a pattern that surprises me how often its true. Coin enters a first exchange at value X. In this case ~100 satoshi were the first large legitimate sales Coin gets pumped to 2-2.5 * X. EBT peaked at ~200 Coin gets dumped to hell, bottoming out at 10-20% of X. In this case, 10-20 satoshi After a couple weeks when community starts getting restless, a second pump brings value back to ~ 50% of X. Last, for many coins it is a slow painful death after second pump. I believe this coin will make it back to a stable 50-60 satoshi in the near future, but if you want to keep it from dying like the rest, you better have some plans that separate it from the rest. You cannot compare to other successful coins and say thats the price you should be at. Those prices don't just happen based on total coin supply. Those coins have massive communities and massive efforts to build price. I don't care if there are 50 million or only 50 of these coins. You're never getting back over 60 satoshi unless you start doing something BIG with your efforts. I think that is a pretty good analysis! I made a ton with this coin. Bought 800.000 for 14-40 Sats and sold 1/3 at a 100 and 1/3 at 270. Invested in a lot of other coins and bough 600k back at 30 SAT. The coins are safely back in my wallet to gain Stake.
