The most recent OS X wallet doesn't even sync. The link is incorrect I think because it still shows up as the previous beta version rather than version 1.1! It displays the "you may need to upgrade or other nodes may need to upgrade" message at the top of the wallet.

110 on Mintpal now - lets get it higher - keep voting every hour. Also we need to get on CoinMarketCap - is there a working blockexplorer?

It's still very early days for this coin. As long as support for it continues it has a bright future. People are dumping coins to buy BTC/DRK etc - whatever is up right now. Those same people will be buying NAUT when it goes up. The initial price explosion was artificial anyway and never sustainable. Rather than panicking those of us who see a future for this coin should use the opportunity to buy it up cheaply. There are no guarantees but the old rule of buy low and sell high generally works.

It's dead and it's not coming back. There are too many altcoins already vying for people's attention. Once a coin dies theres virtually zero chance of bringing it back.

I think we should look at the implementation of anonymous transactions as that seems to be an important feature for a lot of people in crypto. Also if the block explorer is working we need to get featured on CoinMarketCap.

i think the dev Team are honest, let see their next post with any surprises for us I hope you're right but the complete silence is not inspiring confidence.

"WATCH OUT!!
Block time: 1 minute Difficulty retarget: every block Total coins: 40,000,000 UVC Coins per block: 80 UVC Block reward halving: every year Premine: 1.77% for bounties, future development, and merchants adoption
Considering the 1.77% premine, the OP instantly gets 708000 coins. The block rewards are so low that this is a big deal. The market price will start out relatively high. Think about 2000 satoshi as a minimum and (if the coin's popularity increases) the value could be above 10k satoshi. The OP is probably going to dump the moment there's a high buy order and will then stop supporting the coin since he's made a quick buck. Do not accept premines like this. The OP could dump a total of 141BTC worth on all markets this coin is traded on if the value is 2000 satoshi. (Expected value for this amount of total coins with such a reward)
If it wasn't for the premine this would be good. Stay away or demand OP only accept donations."
Prominence seems to have been spot on.

New wallet installed and synced successfully on my mac:)

This is what works for me on OSX wallet builds & sync issues: Grab the lastest OSX wallet. http://pcmerc.com/files/VeriCoin-Qt.dmgMake sure wallet is not running. cd ~/Library/Application\ Support/ cp -rp Vericoin Vericoin.last00 cd Vericoin mv wallet.dat wallet.dat.last00 rm -fr .lock blk* database db.log debug.log peers.dat txleveldb vericoin.conf: irc=0 addnode=supernode.vericoin.info addnode=supernode2.vericoin.info addnode=supernode3.vericoin.info Open the wallet & let it create a new wallet & sync. Once it completes sync, close the wallet & copy your old wallet.dat.last00 to wallet.dat Run the wallet again. This works for me EVERYTIME. pcmerc~ Thank you so much this fixed my wallet:)

There are far too many more sensible coins that don't have all those hurdles in the way and they aren't doing very well so XXL has no chance.
And just like that everyone has gone quiet. That's the end of that then huh? Yeah this coin is dead. Botched hard fork and coin reduction. Useless Developer who is now AWOL. Too many coins. No value. No buys. No interest. No future for XXL.
The coin seems to be another scam. Lesson learnt:(

I suspect I will need to read that white paper again more carefully because it just sounds too good to be true.

Yes - but why do POW at all when you can just do POB?
I'm definitely interested - if I haven't missed a huge point - here and the jokes on me:)
I'm not sure people would psychologically accept the burn concept - although if the POW supply keeps compensating it shouldn't matter. I suppose the point then becomes why would anyone do POW when they can just do POB? You can't have POB without the POW supplying the coins in the first place. The compensation for POW would need to be greater hence creating the same kind of imbalance you're trying to solve.
So what happens with the burned coins - are they compensated for by the proof of work part?
If somehow this isn't a joke then I would put forth the point that calculations involving incredibly small numbers can be just as computationally expensive as very large numbers.

Very funny Almost as good as my new Y96 algorithm which uses the "AMNESIA" hash function (which is itself a combination of hedgehog, starfish, X13, X22, SR71A, fugue, mullet, dandelion and Mr T). Maybe the final implementation can use the Y96/Amnesia algo for POW?
