2881  Economy / Speculation / Re: 512-qubit Quantum Computer on: June 22, 2013, 06:47:28 PM
A QC is either useless for hashing (if it is too small) or can determine the right nonce for any hash (if it is large enough).
There might be some indeterminate use but since it makes difficulty increases a linear problem out of an exponential one once it is useful it would make difficulty useless soon after.

Alex Jones / InfoWars.com is crazy.
Bullshit!

I understand that they are unable to create inflation.

But to say we currently have deflation... I don't see it.

Quote
i think they invented a new term for that called stagflation

That's inflation and stagnation.

Not entirely, nearly every luxury item is decreasing in price, new cars, electronics, real-estate. Of course that doesn't affect people who can't afford luxury items...
2884  Economy / Speculation / Re: Projection this autumn on: June 22, 2013, 06:20:24 PM
That is just plain wrong, the best choice is mostly to mine, only during rare events with negative mining profitability it is better to buy than mine.

Mining profitability became negative only when the market bottoms out, and I can't see that changing just because ASICs vs GPUs are used now.

Final nail in mtgox coffin?
2886  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: June 22, 2013, 11:17:40 AM
2887  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it worth it purchasing ASIC right now on: June 22, 2013, 11:14:35 AM
Yes, it's worth it. You got the same responses in 2011 and they were not only dead wrong, but purposefully so. People saw their own profit margin diminishing and were starting to recommend: "No buy Bitcoins instead."
All in all: If you can get an asic, have the space to run it, and the nerves, do it. It's probably best to set a sell order at mtgox at the lowest price you are willing to sell and transfer the coins directly from the pool to the account.

haters gonna hate.
2888  Economy / Speculation / Re: Friday's jet down on: June 22, 2013, 11:08:53 AM
It's not coming this weekend. Too many want cheap coins on Gox.

I also have sensed the overwhelming bearishness.  So much certainty.  They've quit believing there are other possibilities.

Somebody make a version where it shows the BTC logo instead of the video.
2889  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: mtGox nicht mehr liquid? on: June 22, 2013, 10:59:56 AM
Na dann schieß mal los was du weißt, was sonst keiner weiß  Shocked

Ist da wirklich was dran?

Nein absoluter quatsch.

2893  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox wires ARE delayed on: June 21, 2013, 04:33:47 PM
I've read Euros can be withdrawn just fine and quickly? Is it is true how does that fit with the automated wire transfer system outage? Wouldn't they be processed by the same system?

Let me correct you.

I have a request in EUR from 23rd of May... Still no money.

you can read Mt.Gox support's bullshit over here:

sorry to see that.
But thanks for the info.

5) Mt. Gox is certainly not a martyr, but it would be hard to argue that we aren’t "taking one for the team" as far as Bitcoin is concerned.

team.

Uh I really like this one.

Wow... Bitstamp in free fall.

Now, when will MtGox follow?   Grin

I just know there will be several posts regarding a reason that it supposedly will not happen at all.
2898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] eMunie (EMU) - NOT a BitCoin fork/clone - call for beta testers on: June 20, 2013, 11:29:07 PM
Nobody has received any notice, at least I haven't.

Lets hope this doesn't turn into a vaporware project.
2899  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold and Silver tanking HardCore on: June 20, 2013, 11:18:27 PM
Dude the "out of stock" situation was reality in 2008, except it wasn't really out of stock just the dealers wouldn't give away any more at these prices.
2900  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold and Silver tanking HardCore on: June 20, 2013, 09:58:49 PM
There is a local bullion dealer which allows me to place limit orders for individual coins with guaranteed delivery. I am considering doing this, then walk in past the disgruntled folks staring at the "out of stock" signs and smugly receive my cheap gold.
I have a feeling it's not that easy though, where is the catch?
