I knew about bitcoin in 2010-2011 and it was not really lack of skill or existing capital that I did not invest, it was because of hard work. I was working too hard to have time to seriously consider Bitcoin.

Stone is hard to get in the swamps so Avitohol is buying some for his new house. He'll also need additional stone for further fortification of the swamps and his house. Total of 150-250k depending on the price and transportation. Someone selling stone? PM me with your offer.

The typical way to get stone is to wander to the Lucky Lion building, 4th floor. There is a plush but aging office of Luigi's Stone Dealership, which has been converted to a generic den for stone dealers and their offers.

In the Game Database, it is located in the tab /trade_stone and the procedure is as follows:
- buy the cheapest offer in the Borough you need the stone
- if there's none available there, but it from somewhere else and make the transport yourself
- for both, you need an admin to conduct the trades/operations.
2883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 26, 2015, 09:01:40 AM
Assuming someone really wanted to buy like 200BTC worth of XMR when the price was low, he couldnt do that without obviously pumping the price. Even more so when half the sell orders were his own.If you dont say anything people will think that, well, the time they were waiting for may be coming indeed and wont sell. They may even buy more.

So what is best to do? Tell the people that you are manipulating the price. People dislike that. They play along but stay alarmed and sell when they feel a bit scared. After all its just manipulation. So i would argue that you actually manage to buy the coins you wanted at better price by stating that you are manipulating the price.

And this way also has a plus. Your words gain more trust if you say something and that happens. You can use that in the future. Maybe really near future too.

Only thing i really dont think you are going to do is to wait 24h to buy. You actually buy the moment you said that you are going to buy.

Oh and remember, it is also buying when people (from a wannabe syndicates or not) dump on you Wink

I wait 24 hours if I say I wait 24 hours. If I don't say, I can do what I want. Those 24 hours have already expired.

What I currently have said is that:

- Monero price will rise (from the starting point of 115k);
- I will aim to focus the marketing to investor-minded people who have significantly more money than currently invested in Monero;
- I have money under management that is about to flow to Monero;
- I hope that the small guys who already know about Monero, get back on board first.

If you project other wishes of yours to me, hoping that I make them true, you will be disappointed. I have explained what I believe is the best investment approach towards Monero here in this thread, and will probably do it in a dedicated website soon as well.

Both the core team and the MEW are cooperatives, because those aims can only be reached by networks of people. The coming Monero Investment Group (MiG) is largely a one-man effort (to eliminate the possibility of collusion). The aim is to dispense facts for people to act upon, for everyone to make his own decision. Let the MEW take care of the social aspect.

It's becoming tiring to explain the same thing the 4th time in 4 days, and getting accused of untransparency. These are my plans, and as long as Monero stays cheap, no one can stop me from achieving them. When it goes up, they are achieved.

We are changing to the "money talks, bullshit walks" phase. The power that the current holders have against the influx of new money is to sell. That power can be exercised only once. Use it, but with caution, since the target value of Monero is not 10x or even 1,000x, it is 100,000x the current value.

These updates have been applied at the NEW HOME OF THE LIST:

Community Hall of Fame

Wow, that seems nice. My offer concerning the ingame hosting of the list seems needless, but the bonuses I will of course give to everyone who registers in CK in the appointed timeframe!  Cheesy

That looks pretty good.

Yes, it is optimized for smartphones, 15x10 plots/quadrats per screen, just the right size that you can see and touch them easily. In the PC screen we want it to look the same, which of course is heavily pixelated  Grin

Clicking any of the quadrats (the current extent is 8,100 quadrats, so there's some exploring) will get you to the main screen for that building. The owner can use it to try to sell stuff to you, or host dice games, or a tavern, or just a chatbox.
2886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 25, 2015, 09:50:13 PM
There is now a 30k bid at a very reasonable price of 0.0014.

If it does not get hit, it is hard to deny that the uptrend has started, don't you think so?
2887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 25, 2015, 08:10:50 PM
OK, let's put the end to the "silly pump" talk.

So, let this be the official announcement that the price of monero will now start rising.

Exactly this has happened. Minutes after the announcement, the price started to rise from 0.00115 to now 0.00140 (+22% in less than 3 days).

Everyone who reads this is asked to keep calm and buy at most a very small amount per day, but instead be very vigilant in selling at the best opportunity. Large holders are entering in, we need them, and they need the coins! Smiley

This did not work as intended. I haven't increased my position at all yet, for the reason that I decided to wait 24 hours and then the price was already toppy. So people have bought more than very small amounts, and sellers have been fewer than hoped. Don't claim that I am asking people to buy when the exact opposite is true.

The least I can do before starting to buy en masse due to these wonderful new developments, and before allocating my carte blanche wealth management clients' funds to it, and promote it to the larger circles that I advice concerning wealth management, and before reactivating my gold/silver/BTC/XMR/fiat dealership enabling XMR to be bought with fiat, etc. is to announce all of it beforehand.

QFT.

Right now is the time to start getting back those people who were burning for Monero last summer but have since sold due to the depressing market and development taking time.

If you believed that the time allocated for "getting back the ex-Moneroholders" was a few hours, you are mistaken. The rise is planned to be gradual, so there will be more time to buy. Don't buy too hastily, do sell if it feels overextended (but not out of boredom), and always keep the core position.
2888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -> Monero Community Hall of Fame <- on: February 25, 2015, 02:32:53 PM
I thought it was locked and decided the following. Since the King's words cannot be taken back, I humbly suggest that this is what will happen:

The Most Ancient and Wise Community of the Monero House

The first organization character created to the game, Monero House, is feeling the renaissance.

The organization was established and the House was built in 1-C-A3 in 1450, almost 14 decades ago. The House was designed to be 2-story with 2 mezzanines, but due to the haste in constructing it for the Golden Jubilee, only HG The Bishop and the King were contacted for donations. They split the cost of construction and the lot was donated by the Town. Only the lower half of the House was constructed, and it stands to this day.

The House has a Monero Info Center, a Tavern with a cabinet, and some offices/hotel rooms. The Monero House hotel was the first hotel in the town, closing after 100 years of operation in 1550. The Monero House is proud of its shrewd manager (MGR-5) who is currently leased to HM The King, and is administering the Royal Household, one of the largest households in the game with a 10 NPC strong management and 67 million annual expenditure.

What is happening now is that the Hall of Fame, formerly residing in BCT, will be transferred to CK with all its prizes and privileges. The people who have a rank in the BCT HoF, will be credited an equal rank in the CK HoF. To make the transition possible, the holders of the ancient titles from the BCT era, will have to register to CK. Well, that is as easy as contacting the nearest administrator. For the ones that register during the Ancient era, approximately 10 real-days, the following bonuses are credited:

- 1 CKG (currently valued at about 0.3 XMR) for every 10 XMR donated during BCT HoF, + 10 CKG directly from His Majesty
- CUL points based on a formula tba
- CUL points spawn Ancient items later in the game
- Titled Ancient in the game + the rank gained in the HoF is Ancient

So yes, based on your earlier donations, you now get bonuses, valuable items that are soon listed to an exchange. That's how Monero works! Smiley

Crypto-Kingdom's logo, by fluffypony and his designer

Nice logo. You guys have been very quiet about the online version. No screenshots or trailers or anything. I'm curious to see what it'll be like.

It will not be completely unlike the current version. This game is not graphical by design, we aim to create the early-1990s feeling remember? Smiley

The change will be that currently doing anything at all, either requires you are an admin and know the spreadsheet database function by heart and are willing to spend up to 5 minutes for doing a thing by inserting code rows to up to 4 different tabs, or need to contact an admin and explain what you want done, (and pay for it).

In the coming version, there is a button that you press, and behold - it happened!  Cheesy

So, let this be the official announcement that the price of monero will now start rising.

We would hope the rise to be gradual, but it is very difficult to cap once it starts. Not many want to sell their precious stashes below cost. In fiat, we are still at 10-15% the cost of most holders.

Everyone who reads this is asked to keep calm and buy at most a very small amount per day, but instead be very vigilant in selling at the best opportunity. Large holders are entering in, we need them, and they need the coins! Smiley

Trolls want to know what I think exactly concerning the timing of the rise. That is however reserved for IRC only.

Very good stuff from the core team. +1  Smiley

So, let this be the official announcement that the price of monero will now start rising.
I understand "official" here as a figure of speech because:
  • Monero Core Team did not decide on making this official
  • No MEW vote had been proposed on this matter
  • I do not see any other Monero body that could emit such a statement

I'm sure trollers will delight to reuse this announcement. The core team and the community as a whole pride itself in not succumbing to the price drama - I'd like it to continue that way.

Okay, first:
- I had no explicit knowledge of the massive release you were about to make the hours following my statement.
Second:
- The MEW (where both you and I are officials), is not working on the paradigm of voting. We have had very few votes or control of any kind, yet have been able to accomplish a lot on the paradigm of empowerment. I don't even know how much, and none of it has required my approval to get it going. I do take pride of developing the structure that allows things to happen without my approval, because the structure was my design. In CK we are struggling with this issue still..

If I have the resources to make XMR price go up, and the intention to (commit actions that will lead to) do so, I can officially make any announcement I feel right. Until now I haven't even taken advantage of low price myself, due to a self-imposed 24 hour delay from the announcement to action.

The trolls are accusing me of manipulating the price, and they are absolutely correct. I am one of the approximately 1 million people on the planet who have enough funds to (currently) do it (and unless others of the same caliber actively step in). There is no denying this fact.

At face value, it looks like I am massively shooting at my own foot here, after all my stash has been bought many times higher than the price now, and buying more just became almost impossible with the supply drying up. But I have the understanding that the value of the currency is in the network of people who use it, and right now is the time to start getting back those people who were burning for Monero last summer but have since sold due to the depressing market and development taking time. The longer we wait until revaluation, the more violent it will be and again people will get burned. Abrupt and spectacular surges always happen with the coins, let's see if we can avoid it this time.

Everybody is invited to prove me wrong in the field. To fire a bullet, enter any amount in the box and click SELL. That'll teach me  Cheesy  I also have a kitty of customer funds for buying OTC, contact me.

I may have a problem in writing clearly enough for everybody, so some reading comprehension is required. Above, the plan is described in sufficient detail to answer the questions presented during the last hours, and enable everyone to take timely action, if they believe me.

If not, my advice is to wait until the next pump in the exchange rate, and use the big red buttom that removes your right to participate in XMR economy and value appreciation, but credits you a (currently) meager amount of BTC in return.

The options market may open again if there is enough interest.

Last time the downtrend just started and all the options bought were calls.

the daily turnover ("GDP") of the game is about 500 XMR (180 USD). In addition is the investments to land and buildings: the total value of buildings constructed during the Ancient Era is about 50,000 XMR (18,000 USD) and the value of land in the game currently is about 100,000 XMR (36,000 USD).

This is actually very impressive. There are very few altcoins that have non-speculative uses, but here with XMR/CKG we have gaming activity worth tens of thousands of dollars. Litecoiners would probably be happy to see that someone in the world bought something with litecoin once a week.

Questin: How will CKG be transferred from player -> exchange? There's no private key, right?

Thank you. A certain Prince in the game just ordered 2,000 XMR (700 USD) worth of buildings to be constructed to commemorate the ending of the Ancient era. The buildings are very work-intensive, about 25% of the cost is architecture work, so 500 XMR (170 USD) pays a lot of virtual architecture  Wink

The number of cost & profit items that is calculated daily to get the "year change balance" payments to characters is 500+. Naturally the calculations and even the resulting payments are in the game database, ie. "offchain". With any luck in finding new players, we are easily talking about 100,000s of offchain XMR transactions per day (and quite many onchain, as well). This is more activity than with most coins.

Sending CKG will happen the same way how internet banks, etc. do it. Your signing in to the exchange website / signing in to the game, and the passwords involved, are the key to using it. Then you can just send gold to your game account->exchange account and vice versa. The CKG does not have a private key.

The final ancient years: 1589

We have continued with good meetings in the taskforce, also called Town Council. Things are falling into places. XMR started a sudden rise only minutes after my announcement that it would, and has shown remarkable resilience staying much higher than where we started, and given me some work.

We are proud to announce that the negotiations concerning the addition of CKG to a major crypto exchange have been successful, and trading will commence when the new version is released. CKG Announcement thread. To corner enough supply, just buy the gold as you have done so far. Prior to the trading commences in the major crypto exchange in the faraway land, you will have a chance to transfer all or part of your gold from the game to the trading system there, and later after successful speculation, repatriate it to the game.

Clothes

The reason we need clothes is that we can have a fancy background color in the trollbox. The trollbox will start operating only in 1600 in the Economy era, and there has not been any production of clothes for almost 100 years. All existing clothes will be converted to Most Ancient items, which may possibly be worn in some later version of the game.

The Prince of North Face has served the King faithfully over decades, and shown remarkable scientific progress. The Prince has found (upon spending of enough SCI points) indigenous methods for production of certain dyes that used to be very expensive and could only be imported. In the Economy era, the Prince will have an edge in fine clothes production.

The Economy era clothes are a major cost item and do not last long (well, several years, that's what they last - a year is 12 real-days)

Luxury level producing Ancient Items

All Ancient buildings that have 40% or higher Luxury rating, will yield an Ancient Item Credit (AIC) as follows:

year = building_year; credit_amount = sqm*(lux-30%)

We do not have Items management just yet, nor in 2 months. The Items will be implemented from the credit later, so that more expensive items during the conversion will be naturally more scarce, and likely command a higher value in the aftermarket as well.

Other Ways to Gain AIC

If you thought Culture was useless, think again. You will get AIC from all the Culture you have accumulated. It is still not too late to get some Smiley Culture points are given for writing in the thread, chatting in the IRC and inviting and helping new players, for instance. Or by having Special institutions.

Every character will get a small amount of personal AIC based on the year they came to the town, and based on every subsequent promotion.

The Town gave CUL dividends some years ago. How nice! Smiley They went in the proportion of gold owned, since gold is the share of the Town. Another round is coming most likely, so one more reason to load up on gold.

Lots - Buildings - Rooms

Be it announced that we will not have the buildings implemented to the Room detail level in the DB yet. Administering that manually is too much work. A building can be divided to separate parts that may have different lux%, desire%, repair% etc. It is unlikely that renting is enabled yet, because it would require Room-level implementation.

New building projects

There will not be a new Building Cost Calculator for the remaining Ancient era. The update costs are more than the benefits. Instead, the old one is used with the following modifications:
- Both Labor and Services go to Special Services Pool.
- the Imports-Windows(3 cells) go to the Town as default. You have to note how much this sum is and manually transfer it from Town to RWWC.
- the Labor Cost is set to 100% for all projects and it cannot go lower, and may go higher only in extraordinary circumstances. The buildings are ridiculously cheap right now as they are Ancient, unaffected by the Earthquake, their lux stakes items, etc. (It is possible that the next revision of the Cost Calc is adjusted upwards.)

All building projects must be submitted to BI latest 1598. All buildings that require Architect design must be submitted by 1595, which is only 5 days away. Contact Roopatra.

Farewell, my loving people.

@rpietila

what is your opinion about the price for 1 xmr in about 2-3 Years and the same for DRK?

Thank´s for your answer

"My opinion" can only be defined as "my estimate of the probabilities of various scenarios", and Expected Value can be calculated out of it. The problem with this approach is similar to someone asking a poker player: "What is your opinion, do you win this round?" Poker is not played out of opinion, but out of rigorous mathematical probabilities, coupled with psychology concerning the read of the opponent. Predicting the prices of Crypto is even harder since there are no rigorous probabilities that all would agree.

That said, I give about 50% chance that XMR will totally fail (be valued essentially at zero) in 2-3 years. The other 50% would be about:
- 10% valued at the same as now
- 10% valued at $1
- 10% valued at $2-5
- 10% valued at ~$10
- 10% valued at much more.

I cannot really give estimate on DRK. It currently has a higher marketcap than XMR but I haven't invested anything in it. I am not against premine but the way DRK is presenting theirs is unethical to my standards.

The listing to the major crypto exchange is scheduled to happen when the Online version is released, or possibly before.

Since the ingame gold market is continuously operating, it is possible to buy gold already, which might be a good idea as the current number of owners is only about 80. Buying gold now requires the following procedure:

- Contact saddambitcoin (above) for registering your character to the game. You need to tell your BCT id, name in the game, sex and age at start (default=20 years).

- He will give you a XMR payment ID.

- Maximum amount of gold that can be bought at once is 3,000 CKG (~1,000 XMR / $350) but there will always be gold for sale, the price will just be revised higher (similarly King's coinshop is always buying gold but continuous dumping lowers the price).

- Contact administrator (in the game thread, or game IRC, or saddambitcoin, ...) to make the purchase.

- At present, all gold balances are public in the game database (CHAR tab, column "F"). In the Online version, they will be private as a default, although if your gold is in a form of a public item (such as a gilded dome of your palace), it will be public.

I'm not trying to be rude - only state that no one knows.

Hey man, we agree.

The difference between difficult and impossible is that I can jump 1.5 m high with difficulty, but 2 m is impossible.

XMR can go to $1 (BTC0.0045) with difficulty, but even $100,000 is not impossible.

If you change that to always sell half (upon successive 10x), you won't feel bad with your 40-ft yacht when the others have private spacecraft...
