What do you guys think, Retire or play on? Magnolia expects Pingris decision by next month

For me, I think Pingris should retire, he already created a good name in the PBA, time to rest now and give the young guns and opportunity to make theirs. Even if he will play, he will still be injury prone, and he is not getting any younger, so I'm saying he should retire.

With the Beast around, i think Magnolia will be good even without Ping but it would nice to see him mentor Abueva and remind/advise him on what to do in order to win a championship ring. There is a news that the Beast is going wild again so maybe Pingris could tame him if needed.

To avoid injury, he could play limited and quality minutes for the Hotshots.

His future in the PBA is on him as he can play whenever he wants as he always has a place in SMC teams, let's not forget that he is Bossing's son-in-law lol.

Calvin has to avoid being stupid in the court again, 2nd suspension could possibly end his career, not good because he will be missed by the fans and it will affect him financially. Now that he was given a max contract, he should act professional and all he does is jut for the interest of the team.
2882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Failed as Money? on: February 20, 2021, 03:29:17 PM
In my opinion, Bitcoin is not intended to be used as a currency from the very beginning. Even its limited number of coins is indicative of this. Rather, Bitcoin is an asset that bases its value on interest in it. And it is the basis of the crypto market.
You've got be wrong man. Satoshi created Bitcoin with the intent to use it as digital currency, an alternative way of sending and spending money but it was not is a good start, most people consider this as an investment up to now.

I can't say it was the failure of Bitcoin because we don't consider it as money and only a few establishments are accepting this. It can't be an instant adoption and people don't make use of it if they don't about it. Well, of course, it takes time to finally reach the stage where Bitcoin is fully adopted and that can acceptable globally. Let us see how it changes 10 years from now, I think it was long enough to expect huge adoption.
2883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No year of altcoins coming. All the big money is pouring into bitcoin. on: February 20, 2021, 02:43:40 PM
With the stratospheric rise of Bitcoin the altcoins should move big time as well.
But they do not and will not move, as all the institutional money is pouring into bitcoin.
We won't see a "year of the altcoins" for a very long time, at least not before bitcoin has reached one million.
Maybe you neglected to see the increasing price of some altcoins. Don't focus on shitcoins because you can't see them moving.

Anyway,
I know that many people are so tired of waiting for their altcoins to move high and seeing Bitcoin will give them some hopes but unfortunately, it gives no chance that their coins remain stuck. I was also having some (shit) altcoins and it was accepted for me that it doesn't have any room for this new ATH happening in crypto now.
2884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are your Bitcoins safe? on: February 20, 2021, 02:09:26 PM
I am more sure that storing it on paper in a safe, I think storing on Android and Leptop is not safe, can be hacked, do you agree with my opinion?
But you should have to keep that paper in a safe place, probably in the bank, or make a vault for this only and so it will not be worn out. Just kidding...

I'm storing my private keys on my personal laptop, I don't let other people use this, and it was fine for me. And can say myself I was safe, but the truth is that, it guaranteed nothing. Though we think it can't be hacked as we are using an offline wallet but what if there is something bad that happens to your offline wallet (accidentally lose), I'd never think it will bring back to you.
2885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 20, 2021, 11:10:14 AM
Thanks @wheelz1200 for the pick, I tailed and won it easily.
The total score was 246 points, and you guys are right, they are playing a face pace game and that makes it easy to hit the over total.

Looking forward for a new pick, I'll gladly tail again.
2886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 20, 2021, 10:43:55 AM
If you missed the Anthony Edwards dunk tonight, do yourself a favor and look up the clip. They’re calling it the dunk if the year and while I think that might be a bit of a stretch, dude jumped really high and definitely got himself a new poster.
Holy crap!
That was one hell of a jump.
Did he just look at the surface of the rim before slamming it down?  Grin
It's like he had himself equipped with a jetpack.  Cheesy
C'mon Baynes at least help poor Watanabe to get up quickly from bad posterization.

Thanks for the reminder.  Wink
I was watching Clippers vs Jazz.

Don't know him, I think he is not popular but upon seeing his dunk highlights, I'm so amaze by what he did so far.

Here's the highlights I watched.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jpxdQ0cWYg

I hope he can joined the all star dunk contest.
2887  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull run: will it end in May? on: February 19, 2021, 10:46:12 PM
I mean, there is no certainty for this. The only thing I will say is that you have to go at whatever price satisfies you. When you say that you will earn more, you can lose your savings in an instant. Set yourself a price and get out there. If it rises later, there is no point in being sad.

Damn that's true, greediness will come when we see the price so bullish, but we should learn how to be smart and always take profit and not carrying a shitload of coin once this bull run is over. I wish I still have a lot of coins to sell, but all I have no is just the learning in the past bull run, can't sell anything,  so sad and all I do is just watching how bullish the market is.
2888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 19, 2021, 10:29:20 PM
My pick tonight is the pelicans/suns game over 230.  I pels play at a fast pace and can see them scoring 130 on their own here.  Only thing is if Chris paul slows the game down.  Going to go with suns money line as well as a hedge.  If they are winning they will slow the pace they won't want to run up and down with the pels

I'm gonna tail, no way Paul will slow down the game, this is a battle of good shooting tonight, 3 point shots after 3 points shots this team will be running so 230 should be easy, previous games of respective teams, total points was 250 and 252, so this is right on spot.
2889  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1XBIT.COM ᐉ Bet online ᐉ BTC Betting ᐉ Online betting odds on: February 19, 2021, 09:58:33 PM
Everybody knows that 1xbit is a scam

But this is still advertised on Youtube by some bloggers and there a lot of people (maybe bots?) in comments who tells that everything is fine and they using this amazing service  Grin

So i wouldn't be so sure about "everybody knows"  Smiley

Everybody in this forum knows, but not in other platform because they can hide the comment or advertise in on a certain site by paying the admin, they actually have a lot of budge for advertising, but they can't settle their obligations to their customers. OP has a lot of red tag, that's what the community sees about this site.
2890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: taking profit can be hard sometimes. on: February 18, 2021, 01:36:36 PM
Sometimes traders are in good profit but they could not decide whether to take profit or continue to hold it is just because the market is booming and mind says the market will rise more so we should wait some more time and while deciding this sometimes end up in a loss of profit so the target should be set in advance and when achieved should not be greedy for more. Apart from this one can sell that much amount that returns its principal amount of investment and rest can be hold for long.
They look undecided because they don't have a plan. That is simple, they will somewhere and it might be the reason for their big losses.
Because for me, I'd never waste every opportunity I saw. Just selling it for at least a 5% incline, I'll surely take that. In fact, we can buy back again once it drops again.

It is all about the strategy we use and it is sometimes we need to sacrifice. We can't be a long-term holder always, we have sometimes to look at what is happening to the market and to our investment. If we are already in profiting, maybe we are not so hesitant to make a sell rather than to miss it.
2891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 18, 2021, 12:29:45 PM
And the Portland TrailBlazers continues to roll with the win against Zion's team.

They have the 2nd largest win streak in the league at 6. Congratulations to another win, this team is still a good even without CJ, but maybe during the playoffs they'll not win like what they are doing now.
2892  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull run: will it end in May? on: February 17, 2021, 01:46:02 PM
Frankly speaking, this is not a "bull run". Lots of institutional investors are thinking to buy Bitcoin or many of them already bought it. I am saying this because the market is not crashing for Fake FUD news like the one which we saw the day before yesterday. If it was just the crypto community who were behind this run then we would have seen a significant drop even for a piece of fake news like that.
What do call the current situation? Bearish season?
Anyway, I appreciate what you are thinking about. But for me, we are in Bullrun already and this will hard to stop if these institutional investors never stop accumulating Bitcoin. And besides, many were still coming.

Quote
If the implementation of top alts continues like this then we might see a future where we use crypto rather than money. But we need more promising projects and better implementation.
I think there no need anymore to have another set of projects. We already have a lot of promising projects, we only need them to have a sustainable market demand which is somehow many have missed up.
2893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 17, 2021, 11:26:25 AM
I may be the first one to bring this news here  Wink.

I don't see this coming as i think that Calvin Abueva have already found a home in Phoenix but i'm wrong.

Seems to me that Magnolia is dead serious on capturing a All-Filipino title very soon.

https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/calvin-abueva-traded-by-phoenix-to-magnolia-for-banchero-draft-picks-a793-20210217?ref=home_featured_big

I don't get why Phoenix traded him, they just threw away a gem, I don't know maybe he still has the attitude?

I guess this is the time that I believe Magnolia will become a championship contender, they are now a better as a defensive team, honestly, I think they are now better than the SMB teams.

Really surprising! I saw some post from a friend from facebook a picture of abueva and Sanggalang together wearing stags uniform. It never came to my mind that they will be seen again with the same uniform, not sure what Phoenix is thinking for trading him' as we know what impact he brought out from the last bubble.

But knowing what really influenced this league, is no longer your sincerity to play but the right amount of money that will offer to you and the secureness of your career while you are still in active and playable status.

Letting him for Banchero and a draft pick is truly a gamble for phoenix, not sure if still the attitude or something behind,
lets see if this trade is for the best interest of both side, looking forward to see the hotshot competing back for the title,
really an exciting season to come.

Phoenix needs a good point guard and I believe Banchero is playing the point guard position and if Banchero will be effective with Phoenix, that would lessened the load of Wright, I guess that's their plan, their big 3 (Banchero, Wright, and Perskins) will blend well with a good PG.
2894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk changed the market circles on: February 17, 2021, 11:09:06 AM
yes, Elon musk changed the market circles, He can pump any coin he wants up to the percentage he wants he only needs to invest and buy those coins and it will have a sudden price value increase. Look what happened to dogecoin, I believe he doesn't just hype and advertises it, but he also bought a huge amount of dogecoin. He can change how crypto market works in an instant and that is the true power in whales.

Changed temporarily I guess, this was his first time so people got hype on it, but if he keeps doing it, I doubt if people would still follow. That's normal, when a company or person is popular, they can influence the decision of the people, and that's why it causes a pump as what we have witnessed, but, it's not only for pump, there's also a possibility of dump when there are some negative news involving on the person who influence the market to pump.

Bong Ravena: TNT looking to become better defensive team with new signings

Quote
TNT’s desire to improve its defense prompted the Tropang Giga to sign Glenn Khobuntin, Dave Marcelo, and Ping Exciminiano for the 2021 PBA season.

These are known to be defensive players, and hopefully with a new coach they will be utilize wisely.
Having coach Chot back to TNT and the team shall be one of the strongest teams to come back. The PBA website should also update the rosters and changes to have in their list of teams. I'm searching for updates there and it's not published about coach Chot Reyes' back to TNT as head coach.
The list of the roster for the teams there isn't updated yet but I guess they'll do it once the season starts.

PBA website is not like the NBA website where they do a timely update of the information, sometimes other sites have even more news about PBA than its official website, Spin.ph is mostly what we are using here, right?

Yes, coach chot should be a big help to the team, his experience would hep to improve the TNT.

Maybe the management are already tired for making an experiment, so they get back their old coach to once again lead the team.
2896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 16, 2021, 10:52:32 AM
You are right, as long as Embiid is there, Sixers has a chance to win this game. I don't know, maybe Jazz are just too hype now since they are winning games easily, but sixers had 2 loses already, this should be an interesting game, I'll be putting my money on the ML.

Joel Embiid is questionable on that game due to back tightness.

It's just that Embiid is the only one listed as in question but the Sixers become heavily underdog because of that. Sixers are still complete I guess.

Ben Simmons is waiting for this match;

Quote
We want to play these teams. We wanna play the best teams. You know, we want that competition, that competitive spirit when we go out there. Especially when we play teams like [the Suns or the Jazz]. We want to have those tests and be able to see where we're at."

Embiid did not play but I'm surprise with what Simmon have done in the game, he had a career high of 42 points but unfortunately it was ruined by Clarkson's stellar performance.

Anyway, my concern here is why Simmons can't produce big numbers when Embiid on the floor, I think they will be better if they will also give Simmons more touches on the ball and give a freedom to make more attempts, this guy is a real superstar.
2897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling? on: February 15, 2021, 10:23:17 PM
I've been seeing people who are sharing their predictions about sports and if they monetize on it, they're likely to be paid with membership fees or with commissions from the people who are taking their analysis.

But they could also be an agent by a bigger agency that hires analysts to do the job.

it's a tipster job, not a gambling analyst.
however, the more I read, the more it makes me confused.
not sure if tipster and gambling analyst are the same jobs or not.

some say gambling/betting analyst is a job for the gambling companies.
because they analyze users, platforms, data, fraud attempts, performance, and more.

meanwhile, the tipster's job is giving advice regarding outcomes of a bet for the users of those gambling companies.

Tipster gives what team to bet and the odds you'll take, but they can't give that without analyzing the game first, whether it's  company or just one person, it's all the same. here's the real scenario, the tipster analyze games to come up with a pick they will give as a tip, and you as the receiver should not just follow blindly, you also have to analyze on your own before putting that bet.
2898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 15, 2021, 10:09:41 PM
Jazz have no intention to stop, they have a great 7 matches run. Today they are playing with Eastern Conference leader Sixers to get 8th win in a row. That will be a good test for both teams.
Donovan Mitchell is having a good season as usual. Conley and Gobert do their jobs. Players share the ball, Jazz is one of the teams that have contribution to scoring from all players. Team chemistry is good. I'm surprised honestly, I didn't expect them to make a big run. I should follow them closer.

Don't forget Clarkson as well, I forget, but I think he has a record or something that still continue with the Jazz. But yes this will be a great match against the Sixers, as they are the in the first spot in the Eastern Conference. So two number 1 seed, although Sixers is on a two game losing streak, but for sure they want to break it and then stop Jazz seven winning streak.

Although it's not easy to bet against the Jazz as they are the hottest team now but I can't refuse the odds in this game.
Sixers are +7.5 and that is a great value betting on the number 1 team in East, let's go and stop this win streak again, good luck everyone.

I hope Embiid will still play.
2899  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much would you say one could realistically make a month trading? on: February 14, 2021, 01:54:16 PM
If doing it full time, starting from let's say $10,000 to play with, and btc being in between the same volatility now and how it was about a year ago when it was at around 6k..what could you net a month, realistically?

Trading is mostly losing than winning, and it is the truth that is very hard to swallow, though through experience, we can reverse this.

Given by the OP statement, and only a month of day trading, you will prolly get about 10-20% of your overall capital as:

1. You won't trade all 10,000$ in one coin, so even if you've invest in doge, pretty much you only invested somehow 2-3k of the capital in it
2. Some of your trades will results to a loss, thus decreasing what you might gain in some other trades.
Maybe you are right saying trading is mostly in losing but you can take it back if you never quit. I may not so lucky this time, but maybe it changes by tomorrow. That is all about and we can make all the times in winning, but sometimes we experience losses as well.

Many traders did not continue in trading because they find themselves out from it. And of course, he can't take back their losses for that leaving. And if OP is already prepared for this, backup with knowledge, I think he can do it. He can probably make a 10-20% profit or even more depending on his capabilities and his chosen coins to trade.
2900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold Could be Next Bitcoin on: February 14, 2021, 01:26:11 PM
Next Bitcoin?
Just forget about that coz whatever it happens in the future, no other altcoins ever replace Bitcoin. All coins that have been made after Bitcoin are called altcoins, which was clear enough to understand and there is no need to ask again.

Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Cash...maybe we can call them next to the line. That is really acceptable.
