2881  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Before getting into trading on: October 23, 2021, 06:21:21 PM
I don't think is really necessary. Although, is important for someone to have at least a little knowledge about the Crypto world, before jumping into trading. You can do research on Cryptocurrency on the internet, read articles about trading. It will help a long way. Then, when you have gotten into trading, with time you will basically learn new things. For example, I started learning about trading through watching trading tutorials on YouTube. Also, one thing to note is that been a Crypto trader involves patience.
I also agree that learning trading should not be costly in the first place because the best resources are already found in the internet and they're free so its up to you how to explore them and make them useful and helpful to you. Not just you but a lot of good traders have started learning in trading independently, with no professional traders to lend on. Well, its a bonus for you if you have a friend that is good in trading and will offer to help you, but for those who are just dependent on the internet alone, without getting any course, i know things will really work out as long as you know how to apply those basics in real trading. Once you have the experience, then it will be your best teacher then.
2882  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $100,000 in December? on: October 23, 2021, 05:59:42 PM
We will see if it will. I'm excited to see it goes $100k in December but also I'm good if it didn't. In short period of time, bitcoin has proven that it can increase as much as it can and that usually happens while we're sleeping.  Grin
That's what happens to me when the market goes bullishly as I'm sleeping most of the time and don't see it actually happen. Everyone is optimistic about bitcoin $100k not only in December but to be stable and reaching that price soon.
I also believe that the price of bitcoin will reach the price of $100k in December. that means, the price of bitcoin in october - november should hit a price of $80k to $85k, so a $15k price push in december might be really easy to happen.
The thing that needs to be asked is, are we really ready to welcome that time? I also think that I don't want to be so hopeful with a $100k price in december, but I've now set some things up for a $100k price tag for bitcoin.
Honestly, i don't see bitcoin reaching $100k this december, maybe in the first quarter next year it will. My prediction by december is only $80k-$90k but if this really happens before december, then it's more than good. Bitcoin has been bullish since the start of October and if we can't witness any price correction or market crash until this year ends, then i guess you're right in predicting $100k by december. After all, what we have are just predictions or speculations, anything could happen when we least expect them.
2883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jamel Herring vs Shakur Stevenson on: October 23, 2021, 11:21:10 AM
Here's the link for the official weigh-in:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcpe1pJDsag

Go forward to 16:22 for Stevenson and Herring.

Stevenson - 130 lbs
Herring -129.8 lbs

And probably be rehydrating 10 lbs after the final weigh-in. Shakur keeps flexing, while Herring is very cool with the belt on his shoulder. And as I have said previously, look at Herring's camp they know Shakur's trainer very well. And Shakur is the first one to crack, touching Jamel's belt, lol.

Thanks,  Jamel Herring is the defending champion here and yet he is a heavy underdog, as I checked on my bookie the odds now for Herring is already 8.20, I don't know what's happening, could it be a gift or just a trap so people will find it attractive?
2884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 23, 2021, 10:51:46 AM
Game 3 betting lines are now available,  bet early if you like TNT to win as they are only -2.5.
over/under is 181.5...

If Magnolia will indeed be swept by the TNT, then I think even if the line is -5.5, TNT would still be able to cover it as they have been dominating the Magnolia in the last two games and they still don't have an answer.
2885  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon musk now the richest man in earth on: October 22, 2021, 11:31:56 PM
Quote
Elon Musk has entered rarified air in the world billionaire rankings. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO is not only currently the richest person in the world, but is now worth as much as fellow billionaires Bill Gates and Warren Buffett combined.

Can he sustain it for how long?

My question is can Elon musk sustain this new found financial spot for how long? We have seen bill gate coming back to this spot from time to time and occupying it for a longer time. Now that Elon musk is said being the richest in the world , is he going to keep to this status longer or we are yet going to hear another story of selling off assets because Elon musk is now known as a public stage man Grin Roll Eyes So what do you think?

We don't know how long he will maintain being the wealthiest man on earth. But what I know for sure is that it will not be permanent. The position whatever it may be, is replaceable. Anything can happen any time. There's always a possibility that someone will dethrone him from the spot he is currently in depending on the perseverance of the person and the resources as well.

Always remember that the world is round. You could be at the top now, but there's still a chance you will hit rock bottom the next second. It may sound negative but it's true. You can always bounce back though. Getting up and doing better the next time is always a choice. After all, we learn valuable lessons each time we stumble and fall.
Only Elon knows if he will be able to maintain his position or not. Maybe for now, we can totally say that Elon is capable of sustaining his spot because he has the wealth and has variety of investments that keeps giving him huge returns. But there is no permanent in this world. Somehow, things will change when we least expect it. Even Elon i guess knows that.

However, if he can see things more in positive ways, and he can multiply his investments through rolling his money, then maybe in the future he will still occupy the spot for the richest man in earth.

I will go with the flow, let's hope that Magnolia will even the series so we have a happy day with our wins.

I have some bets here that I like the odds, if this hits, I would enjoy drinking tonight. lol

Wish me luck "mga kabayan".

None of these bets had a chance to win, maybe I will still replicate this bet in game 3, that's going to be the last I will do it as it's a do or die game for Magnolia.

@goaldigger, I'm using bitsler as they have lots of markets and lots of special odds with higher possible return on my bet.
2887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: October 22, 2021, 08:24:14 PM
I'm lucky enough with these picks, my first day was good, so let's continue this for the succeeding games.

1- Clippers +4
2- Bucks -2.5 (After a huge win at home against the Nets, there's no reason for me to bet against them)
The bucks did dominate the Heat in the playoffs, so even if the Heat added Lowry, I still have to see them play before I start believing in them.

1-1 for last night, Clippers almost win so it's a + factor for me, unfortunately, my analysis for the Bucks vs Heat game was wrong.

Anyway, for the upcoming games, I got the following.

1- Boston Celtics -6.5
2 - Brooklyn Nets -3
3- LA Lakers -1

All these 3 teams lose in their previous game, I'm expecting a win here.

Risky picks  Roll Eyes I exactly understand your point and most of the time those teams who came from a loss will try to bounce back and win,

Celtics after that double OT loss against NYK, the chance is high since we've seen how they work
and play together just a luck and a good rotation from NYK that sealed the win.

With those two remaining picks, Sixers with questionable Embiid, Nets may take that advantage, and so with the Lakers, hopefully both
LeBron and Davis will play that same level against GSW plus a good game from Russ.

Those picks for me are good, it's not they are coming from a loss but these teams are really good, they are a playoffs team and need to start winning. Celtics beating the Raptors should not be a problem as they are playing at home and we know how good they are at home.

About the Lakers, I think Davis and Lebron do not have a problem, they have already good chemistry ever since Davis joined the Lakers, the problem here is Westbrook, if he still struggle, then most likely  Lakers will have a losing streak early in the season.
2888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful with new meme coins on: October 22, 2021, 05:38:44 PM
Be careful in every coin, meme coin can be beneficial nw due to hype but once it’s over it will just be like other altcoins who loses their value. Its good to take advantage some popular meme coin for short term but not to the point of holding, doge might be a good long term investment to those who bought before but it may not be in others meme coin or even in any coins. There is a need to monitor all coins we hold and eyeing to buy.
If you can ride with the hype, meme coins would be profitable for short term. And sell them once the hype is over because for sure the price will just drop down suddenly, and worst it may not recover again. So its always best if we can be more careful when it comes to meme coins.

However, if you don't like the idea of investing into meme coins, then focus on solid coins like ethereum and bitcoin. They may be affected with price corrections but never will their value go to zero. That's the big advantage if you can have them in your portfolio.
2889  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elon Musk Sees Bitcoin Price Reaching $69,000 on: October 22, 2021, 07:09:53 AM
He thinks himself as smart or proclaimed genius but he's trying to become oversmart with his moves and want to regain his tweet image with all bitcoin influence again like posting these $69k images and relaxation but we don't care about clown Musk anymore because for btc growth his influence is not required and it will surely reach above $70k also soon.He is primarily promoting shitcoins and using his twitter more for this purpose rather than sharing his tesla news feed and organizing carbon competition. So now we don't need to care what he thinks.
However we can't deny that Elon Musk has deeply affected the market using his influence, I am not against him hyping bitcoin because there's a real potential for bitcoin to grow in the future due to the increasing adoption, but I don't support it and I condemn him promoting shitcoins as it will only make some people lose their money who just blindly follow him.

2891  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto will rival or replace fiat in 10 years? on: October 21, 2021, 11:28:13 PM
Bitcoin could indeed come in par in terms of usability with fiat in due time, but to suppose that it could do so in as small a window as 10 years could be ambitious. Marketcap and all-time highs don't necessarily tell that an asset is suddenly becoming rampant across the world. there are certain parameters that you must meet along the way for something as big as what OP is saying to happen. Then again I'm positive that we'll get there at one point along this journey and once we do get there things will go hard for crypto.
76% of finance professionals believe that digital assets “will serve as a strong alternative to, or outright replacement for, fiat currencies in the next 5-10 years,” according to Deloitte’s annual global blockchain survey.

Is there any possibility that this could happen or this was just another speculation that is impossible to believe, but if we are going to look at the percentage of finance professionals that believe on the possible replacement of fiat with digital assets I think we are in 90% basis in favor of rival or replacement of fiat. Show me your comments about this news guys if you believe or not with this possible replacement?
I think it's possible that the survey will become a reality if crypto is to rival or replace fiat in the next five to ten years. Because in the future there will be changes in the way global finance looks at new businesses with digital assets and how it shapes the financial infrastructure to create future economic growth. In fact, El Salvador made history, being the first country globally to make Bitcoin its official fiat currency. Therefore, it is possible that many other countries will follow in El Salvador's footsteps in the future.
If we are to assume that technology will progress exponentially just like how it is going so far, I think it will at least be possible within our lifetimes, to make such massive claim without proper backing other than the fact that some countries are already doing it could only disappoint us when things go south in the future, so let's take into account everything, even the ones that may sound undesirable for us, to make us prepared for what's about to come. That's basically what I have to say about this. I love crypto as much as the next guy, but sometimes a little bit of realism doesn't hurt.
Well, i guess everyone of us here in the crypto community would to love to end up crypto replacing fiat in the next 10 years. But its more of a day dream. The reality is fiat cannot be dethrone by any cryptocurrency that is not centralized because the government will always protect fiat from all those decentralized currencies that will give threat to fiat. And if ever the government will adopt a crypto not literally to replace fiat but to be a reserved currency, it might be a centralized one wherein they can control it like fiat. I have sense that they will develop their own crypto rather than adopting a decentralized crypto.
2892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HELP! My metamask is not showing me coins out of nowhere please tell me a fix.. on: October 21, 2021, 09:58:19 PM
YES! I did that out of respect because I know many people online one even emailed me he was ready to commit suicide because his coins disappeared.  I have many tiny coins so it may have taken longer for mine to reload but let others know this happens and it may not be a problem. Smiley
I assume that the problem has been solved already since you are not active anymore in replying to this thread.

It's important that we don't panic right away, we can always check what's inside our wallet by simply checking the address in https://etherscan.io/, then the next step would be to access our account and if we are able to access it, then there should be no problem to worry about.

I guess OP had already been fed with information that he needed, if the problem is solved already, this thread has to be locked as it already serves its purpose.
2893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: October 21, 2021, 09:45:25 PM

Although this fight is unfair to him but yeah this is determinant factor to him since once he win this fight for sure he's rank or morale increase on this fight and also he will be notice by other stronger fighter so Casimero should really work since if he finish this and fight Inoue after that for sure he could be earn more praise and be respected more in his division. I strongly believe that Inoue vs Casimero fight will be buyable knowing they already created a hype for their upcoming fight.

Before this mandatory fight of Casimero to Butler came into picture boxing fans were expecting to see Inoue and Casimero both in the same ring fighting for a title but this fight is an ordered fight though the winning cut for Casimero is unfair but he must need to push this fight and hopefully win because this will be his ticket to have more big fights in future. Either a rematch of Casimero to Donaire or the anticipated fight between Casimero and Inoue will be big enough for him.

Truly unfair knowing that he can lost everything if he lost on this fight so its kinda suicide fight to him that's why he should do his best not to lost so that we can still see him entertaining us by mocking his opponent and create crazy noise on social media  Grin. Anyways as many discuss many point out that they want to see the fight between Inoue so maybe we can see this came true if Casimero win.
It's also possible that the management is doing it for a purpose. Despite being an underdog here, we can't deny the fact that Casimero still has a huge potential. It's just that it's too unfair since he couldn't really choose his opponent. I guess it would be better if he would just take this chance to do better and take this as an opportunity to build a stronger name in the industry.
Unfortunately this is the price they have to pay for being the champion, sometimes they have to hold out fights they do not want just because they are ordered to and it is not as if they can refuse because as we know being the champion allows you to charge more money for the fights so they have no choice but to accept, and this can become a real pain when a boxer has several belts as more than a year could pass before he could select an opponent he wants to face.
Actually, that's normal in boxing, because without these mandatory fights, champions will just choose to fight a fighter that they think they can beat and that they will make a lot of money at the same time, they are getting greedy without the boxing council implementing the rules.
2894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 21, 2021, 09:21:49 PM
Game 1 the total was only 158 points, now the total is over/under 174.5. I think this one is easy, although we might not be able to see a high turnovers of Magnolia in this game ( I assume), I still believe they will also play a physical game and they will put more defense in game 2.

So I'll follow the trend, should be under 174.5.
2895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Shiba Inu Coin a better investment than Dogecoin? on: October 21, 2021, 08:20:39 AM
Whatever your opinion about these two coins, I think it's fine, because only you can decide to buy these two coins or not. Doge started as a joke Coin Coin, but escalated after Elon Musk tweeted about this coin. As long as influential people are still in it, the coin will continue to advance
So how long will this influencial people keep hyping this shitty tokens? And if they stop the hype what would be the fate of investors? We all saw the crazy pump of safemoon, how is it fairing today? I think it's type we face reality, these tokens are just for making short term profit and so bad most people might get in late and loose funds, so it did be better to invest in an institutional coin which got good use cases and solves some problems in the Ecosystem, tokens like $Fida, $Flm, $Ref, $Near (my best alt), $Oct.

Invest in long term, in the future you will be proud of the step you took
Meme coins will never be good for long term as they eventually break out and dump after the hype will be over. So why take the risk investing in them in the first place? Although i understand how some investors get profits from them even for a short term, but IMO time is very precious so why not invest earlier in those well established coins and have real use cases, so that if those coins will reach their ATH, we will gain huge profits for sure.

I don't see Shiba and Dogecoin as good investments so i don't think investing in them is a good idea. Good luck for all those who believed in them, it will be  a win-lose scenario in the end.
2896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is your best investment tool recommendation??? on: October 20, 2021, 11:11:25 PM
In my opinion, gold and coins are the right investment tools to make profits in the future, but at this time coins are the right choice to invest considering that the price of altcoins now can go up drastically
Now Altcoins are not experiencing a drastic increase, only Bitcoin has experienced a drastic increase so that it has got a new ATH again this year, so you also need to look at this consideration in terms of choosing because Gold also never drops sharply.
If you are still in doubt with crypto coins, i suggest study first the crypto market before doing such investments. You should not rush into an investment which you don't understand in the first place. Have your own preference from your own research and do not just rely on what others are saying about such things. When you think you are now ready to invest, i suggest consider bitcoin first because its the most secured investment in crypto that will also give you consistent profits. And when you are making profits already, start investing in those potential altcoins on the amount you can afford to lose. But never leave behind gold too. It will always give you small but consistent profits.
2897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 20, 2021, 12:54:35 PM

Sorry for your loss man, this is the first time I saw the Magnolia getting dominated by an opponent, TNT is really something and if they will sweep the Magnolia, I would understand it because they have a lot of options on players that will generate points for them and Mikey Williams just proved his worth again and he deserved to get a max contract, not a rookie one.
When the PBA didn't start, Williams demanded for a monthly salary that is more than what is usual in the league and it seems like it is worth it because he is a very big piece in the team's rotation.
Anyway, these are the 3 reasons why Magnolia got defeated by a huge margin in that game.

1. Free throws - 26/44?? You are in the PBA Finals and you shot that low? In the first half alone, they shot less than 50% from the free throw line causing TNT to have a huge lead. TNT got so many fouls but unfortunately, MAG didn't convert those free throws into points.
2. Turnovers - 28 turnovers and TNT scored 26 points from their turnovers. We already saw SMB having these much turnovers and they lost against TNT and now MAG is doing the same. They can't afford to have these much turnovers or else, they might get swept in these Finals.
3. Paul Lee - special mention for him at least for me. In his last 3 games against Meralco, he scored way less than his usual points per game and this game he only scored 12 with 3/12 shooting. He is one of the main scorers of the team but he has this bad performances for 4 straight games already. Kudos to the defenders of TNT still because they manage to lessen Lee's production.

Overall, a win for the TNT and it is now 1-0. Second game will be on the 22nd. Adjustments will be made on MAG and I hope that they will come back in the 2nd game. I would love to see this Finals into 7 games Smiley.

The turnovers were a huge factor why the Magnolia had a loss in this game, also, Paul Lee has not gotten his game back yet, I don't know maybe he is still feeling some injury because he was injured when the PBA was paused temporarily before they transferred to this venue now.

Anyway, regardless of how dominant TNT is, it's still one loss for Magnolia, and just like the game with SMB, we saw how they adjusted and beat the TNT in the 2nd game.
2898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gervonta Davis vs. Rolando Romero - December 5 on: October 20, 2021, 11:42:37 AM

What do you expect? This is part of the strategy to sell the fight but we can always look at their previous fights and see who is better between the two. Based on the record, it's obviously Tank Davis who is better but Romero is going to be a good challenger, so the chance for an upset is possible and I'm glad that he's been hype by some boxers betting on him, hopefully, he will not fail our expectation.

Of course, and based on the record, Tank Davis is almost unbeatable in most of his fights, and his record is very impressive which has 25 wins and 96 of the fights are won by KO. I think that record alone would already tell how good this fighter is, and for Rolando Romero to match Tank Davis, he has to have a solid chin and a strong stomach so he can last in a toe to toe battle.

You have a type error the 96 should be 24 knock out, I agree Tank is a monster his monicker is right he is indeed a tank he can ram anybody in the ring, as for Romero this is the first time that his chin and body will be tested but another big thing that will be tested on Romero is his defense, his offense is good but his defense is questionable.

I agree, he always talk about his power, but can he also play defense?

Tank Davis shows that he can have a good defense in the Barrios fight and one thing that goes with him is that he has a good chin, never been crack in all of his fights. So we will see how Romero will react if he gets tag by Davis, left hook or body punch, for sure he will feel those punches as Davis has power in both hands. And if ever he got knock down or knock out here, then the hype is over for Romero.

Defense is one of the most important in boxing, no one can be successful by simply relying on his power, look at Wilder, his defense is weak although he has the power, so he never won a single fight against Fury who was the smarter boxer and who played defense very well. In this fight, we know who is better in defense although we must say that Rolly also has the power.
2899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How reasonable is the long-term investment in Altcoins? on: October 19, 2021, 11:14:58 PM
As long as choosing top altcoins, the risk of holding Bitcoin and altcoins for the long term is almost the same, not really different. So, don't worry if you want to hold top altcoins such as Ethereum, BNB coin, Stellar, Tron, Cardano, Polygon, or Theta. What you must do is to always keep attention on their social media or telegram groups. You need to check regularly how the project development and the price movement.
Yes. The risks are just the same. But if you are investing into altcoins that surges only when hyped, then those are good only for short term. Once you see the price is already good for selling and you'll eventually make profits from it, then sell them. Do not wait for another price increase because for sure the next thing will happen will only make you lose. Prices will dump eventually. But if you are holding potential altcoins, then you should not worry even if how many times price correction happens, they will always bound to recover just like bitcoin do.
2900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we accelerate the mass adoption of crypto? on: October 19, 2021, 08:41:59 AM
I just saw this topic "What problems in Bitcoin's infrastructure prevent it from being adopted more easily?". All the answers were really interesting, mentioning the lack of regulation, volatility, ignorance, etc.

My question is: How can these problems be solved? And is it ever possible, what do you think?

In my opinion, regulation, practicality, and stability are definitely required for the mass adoption of crypto as a payment method/currency.
What are your opinions on this?
Regulation? Its not needed but with some service correlated to it then we do need that but of course KYC be a big problem.
Volatility? Deal with it because this is actually the one reason on why people do love to invest on not only basing up on real use case.
Ignorance? This is a personal problem because anyone could deal if they do just know on how to jump on whats the current trend.

For now it could really serve as a method of payment but wont completely able to replace fiat no matter what.
Bitcoin will never be able to replace fiat and i think that would never be a problem. Bitcoin being a currency is already good enough because that's the goal exactly of having its mass adoption. And to think we are already enjoying its process, in few years from now, majority of the developing countries are already using bitcoin as a payment method. The only thing that i think can also help bitcoin to accelerate mass adoption is simply using it as what it is intended. Spend some of your bitcoin, and maybe keep investing the rest so you will definitely enjoy using bitcoin and investing in it at the same time.
