This is the problem when people are starting to be political and labeling other people just because they have Bitcoin or a supporter of cryptocurrency. Sure, there will always be people with extreme beliefs and convictions who can be using Bitcoin but all of these people are also using the US Dollar. Granted that Bitcoin can be utilized by people who have evil intentions but these people are also using any fiat money on their pockets and their bank accounts. Just because extremist are using a form of money does not mean that the type of money they are using for transactions can be part of their evil design. I remember that in a study, only a small percentage of all the money laundering activities are actually conducted using Bitcoin majority of the transactions are still using the fiat money...so how we are not associating the fiat money with money laundering or the people who are into this illegal activities? BECAUSE LINKING SO IS ABSURD! The same thing with Bitcoin.

Well, in the world of traditional business no matter if it is very corrupt just like the government, I don't think he can have the same chance like before in getting the trust and confidence of the people as we are talking here of money. Maybe he can start another business that does not involved other people's money so he can redeem himself. In the world of legalities, there will always be instances where the decisions can be hard to swallow but that is the law...if there can be enough evidence to convict a person then there is no choice but to let the person go anyway he had already served some time incarcerated. This should be serving a BIG LESSON to all people involved in the same industry he was in...

This is my first time to ever heard of the name of this man and I think that with his position and stand against Bitcoin then soon he can be creating a name for himself outside of the world he is playing with. I am not anymore surprised why there will always be people in the world of finance who can be strongly against Bitcoin because in the first these people do not possess the full understanding of cryptocurrency and secondly these people will be trying to use their influence and clout to make sure of the status quo. However, we know that eventually cryptocurrency and the blockchain are two unstoppable trains...there might be some challenges and there is a possibility of big delays but things will later on be good for cryptocurrency in general. Let the man speak whatever he wanted to speak...maybe he also have some points actually.

Thanks for this bit of information. I have been wondering the same thing why would a single person be allowed to have total control of the name Bitcoin.com when it could have been used as the educational site for it. Now, it is even used as a staging point in Roger Ver's many ideas that can be working against Bitcoin. Of course, if a person will just be searching for the stories surrounding this incident he can easily understand that Bitcoin.com is not really for Bitcoin but for another coin claiming to be the real one. It just so happen that even up to now with the explosion of many new domain extensions, .com seems to automatically what can come up to one's mind. anyway, this and more are what can be making the ongoing saga of Bitcoin more exciting and colorful.

I actually agree with this assessment. Bitcoin is not money that is if we use the same definition existing for the fiat money circulated all over the world...and in this case I am sure they can be using that definition. Bitcoin is a different category but at the same time it has many attributes that the usal money has because it can be used as a medium of exchanging value from one person to another or to another business. Banks certainly have their own perception of what money is so I guess let's leave them at that and let them have the right to show whatever power they might have over the financial system existing as of today...because time is coming when they can be required to adopt or just perish.

I am hoping that 2019 can be a better year for cryptocurrency in general and though there can be lesser chance that a big bull run can happen within this year am optimistic that the industry is laying down the much-needed infrastructure foundation that can be playing a big role for its expansion in the coming years. There will be good times and bad times and this is what we have so far experienced with this market. The more positive we are the more chance that we are actually helping the very industry we are in. A wise investor will always look for the best time to lay down his money...and this is where successful investors have really talent with as they can feel when is the best time to say YES and of course to say NO. I don't believe anytime is the best time as the marketplace can sometimes be unforgiving with many unplanned actions. In my view, education is always the best key here. Newbie investors should seek the right knowledge before jumping into anything...of course there can sometimes be success out of just luck but those are not guarantee can also happen to anybody out there.

We live in a very competitive world so I am not wondering if something a good idea like Bitcoin can be receiving its fair share of critics, detractors and overeager competitors out to overtake the King of Crypto out of its share of the market. Sadly, majority of these people are still struggling right now them without noticing that they are actually trying to destroy a good industry with many without realizing that if they can take Bitcoin down they are actually killing the very industry they are in...hello Roger Ver and company. Anyway, am sure that despite of so many things not so good that happened to Bitcoin it remains to be strong and the one with the brightest future ahead and will even be the one to be helping many new entrants into the market...even helping the many new projects out to compete with it. We are in a very dynamic market so all of these things are not beyond our amazement...

I think I love this story which is not as unfortuante as we have heard similar situations where the hard drives could not anymore be found. I am happy that you eventually recovered what you had lost and though the price of Bitcoin is not the same as it was in 2017 still that is quite a big blessing and you have some to play with if you want to. This is better than those who decided to sell their Bitcoin when it hit $15 thinking that it was already big and afraid that one day it might fall back to just cents. The lesson here is that we should never give up and just pray that eventually things will be working out fine for all of us.

In 2017, there were many ways one can be able to ahve some Bitcoin. I know that at that time the ICO projects amde big headlines and joining their bounty promotions and then later on exchange the tokens/coins for Bitcoin can be easier...those where the exciting times to get into Bitcoin and we usually just use the time and some ahrd work to gain some. Nowadays, the best way to get Bitcoin is to buy them and since we are still in the dip then today can be the best time to just hold except if one is more inclined to be trading cryptocurrency which is also another option one can use to grow more Bitcoin and money in this industry.
