Thanks for the discussion, everyone. This has been an interesting thread. While we're talking about profitability, I will use this soapbox to try to dissuade people from buying the ASICMINER USB miners. If you think you are going to make a profit with those, I believe you are sadly mistaken. I think they will make about 1 BTC over their useful life. Granted, there may be other reasons to buy them (they're cute). ASICMINER blades are also questionable due to their high prices, but at least you can get them NOW while difficulty is still relatively low. Those have a much better chance of breaking even than the USB devices.
Disclaimer: I own ASICMINER shares LOL
LMAO! Agreed! Those devices are 2BTC each, and will NEVER break even. There are a few group buys that have been put together to order 100 at a time, and it's all novelty buyers, or complete idiots who cannot do math. Luckily, most of the imbeciles and novelty buyers trying to organize group buys on these things are about 200 units shy of a 300 unit minimum order. Good luck with that, ASICMINER. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) You think GPUs are a bad investment? The ASIC USB sticks are 1000 times worse. Not only will they never break even, they also have ZERO resale value/utility outside of Bitcoin mining. The only way they're gonna sell many unless they drop the price to .25BTC or less. currently they are priced 2btc plus shipping, this is even worse

better to buy HD7990, for density
1000 of those overcloked can reach 1500GH
cost $1M
@500W/card you better start building that nuclear power station you always wanted ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) 500kW not to mention PCs and other loads: lights, A/C etc. it is 400watt at max anyway i was just answering to the guy above me

they are here yes, but they are a scam, too overpriced
lol at 50 btc for 10Gh or 2 btc for 300MH, this is the definition of legal scam
ah damn, if only i had discovered btc in 2009 or 2010...mining was profitable with everything, in that era...
you should already place an order for asic blades, they are expensive but at least they are ready
they all start shipping from july, so too late...

I don't think it will massively improve things though. It will be the flagship part with availability, so the new $1k part. Aka same hash as current 7990s just lower power.
And lower power will allow for higher density. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Of GPUs that are already unprofitable? not in the scrypt coin department also not only lower power but lower initial investment , comapred to a 7990

@ $35 and 280mh/s this device would return the investment in 26 days.
That's a pretty good deal. I'll buy a few the day you release them, as long as they take <1.5 months to return.
I couldn't get my head around those people buying the 10gh/s block eruptor boards for 50btc (roughly $5,500). Those would take over 119 days to pay for themselves, and the hash rate on the network has been increasing, devaluing the reward for mined work by 15%+ in the last month. That's a lot of incurred debt for a long time.
These USB sticks are just plain cool though.
this the point to buy all this things, is to make profit(any investment that doesn't make roi in 2 months, is not good for me) asic blade and other usb product are garbage, they cost too much and it is just better to sell your btc instead at 35 i will surely buy 10, but unfortunately i think that it will too late by the time they will be ready

i just watch youporn, and it is free..
would have been better if she come here and let me fuck her for 0.25 bitcoin
i still don't understand why the price is so high
1 chip + 1 mini pcb + one usb connector = 2tbc, really?
it would have been much better if they were priced 0.50-1 btc, much honest price...

i'm still a newbie in this if i buy one share what profit can i expect?
