Cypherdoc is definitely part of the problem.  so it's not surprising that sheeps holds him up as one of his Daddy's.

his problem is that he's had a problem with GMaxwell going back years on end so his current position on opposing GMaxwell's ideas are unsurprising.  it's just all the other whoring he does on Reddit and Twitter that really make one suspicious.   he's a much smarter version of <insert troll>.

edit:  Cheesy I see ICE beat me to it

This litecoin rise won't break anytime soon. Couple of other interesting btc-e coins will see even bigger gains in the close future.
This was all predictable if you knew more then to buy one type of coin and then just sit on your ass, trying to pray for success.

 Cheesy
2903  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: July 10, 2015, 01:12:33 AM
is possible LTC rise to 0.1 BTC?  Huh
I heard bitcoin getting stronger because there are two countries that go bankrupt  Shocked

if we weren't being crippled by iCEBlow and his Cripplecoiners, we'd have had the huge LTC rally here.

Yep. This is my take:

 Roll Eyes

I really feel sorry for anyone that falls into the trap of this narrative.

the exit starts slowly at first and then will morph into a stampede; especially if the price starts plunging.  the mempool is a problem that does have to be fixed so that ordinary users can start getting their tx's through.  they won't be as patient as some of us here.

It looks like the bull cycle has already started and investors are looking for alternatives, likely because of the 1mb attack that has gone unresolved for years now.  Hopefully its not too late to increase the limit and let the bull run... or maybe its time to jump ship.

Or maybe it's just another trick whales are using to get the last weak hands to dump their BTC. This "attack" is just part of their schemes.

You people need to stop with the paranoia and the scare tactics. All this money is gonna end up flowing back into BTC in due times. Lots of people are going to end up holding the LTC, PPC and NMC bag.

There is no problem with Bitcoin.
2905  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin goes to 1200-1300 within a month. on: July 09, 2015, 05:59:19 PM
Mehh ... there is no way on hell that the price will reach that much on one month , Ireally don't understand where those predictions comes from , I mean no prooves or informations or whatever ...
Price will most likely won't reach that much on next halving block reward so ... next month ? just forget about it .

It happened once. How can it not happen again?

What network disruption are we talking about here?

2907  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $50k before Xmas on: July 08, 2015, 05:00:54 PM
it can only reach such heights after it has been adoped by the whole world.

Fortunately it really doesn't work like that.

For example 1000$ was reached with likely less than a millions Bitcoin users
2908  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: July 08, 2015, 01:37:08 AM

What did I miss about China ?
2910  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 07, 2015, 04:42:42 AM
Anybody worried about this yet?

Thanks flat earth 1MB maxblocksize aficionados!

Nah...

A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System*

*A limit of less than three transactions per second occurring on planet earth may apply.

Bitcoin is not here to compete with visa. It's not here to make banking better, it's not about buying coffee or micro payments or any of that crap. It's not about mass adoption.

 It's about monetary freedom.

If three transactions per second is not enough, then there will grow an ecosystem of alt coins to pick up the slack. We will see exchanges grow that allow for easy transfer of value from one coin to the next and through this multi-coin environment, we can scale without limit.

There is no solution for one chain to hold all the transactions. Any proposal that suggests compromising the security, integrity, or distributed nature of bitcoin in order to gain some kind of imaginary "adoption" is an attack and should be treated as such.

FOMO in action
2912  Economy / Speculation / Re: [prediction] Next spike $560,000 14 months from now on: July 04, 2015, 09:28:23 PM
I don't think the next spike can be $560,000 14 months from the date of the OP. That's next November and would have to go up from today's price by 2240x. It's never done anything like that since it went from 10 Bitcoins a cent to $2 when it started off. Those kind of price increases would need billions of dollars throwing at Bitcoin to happen today. In the early days a few thousand dollars would pump the price crazily.

So the number I have picked is probably not that accurate. The magnitude, and the colossal unbeleivableness of it, is what is important. That's the black swan that nobody sees coming. That 90% of the people in the world will miss 90% of the bitcoin

Probably my timescale is wrong, probably my target is wrong.

Mostly though I'm still confident the underlying hypothesis remains solid. When it happens people will be utterly bamboozled.

Anyone's number is as good as the others'. The point of this thread, as emphasized by OP, is to get ready for such high valuation so as to not panic when it inevitably happens.

Today we announced a major step forward in the execution of our vision and product strategy. We've closed a new $50 million strategic investment round co-led by Goldman Sachs and IDG Capital Partners.

And for the first time, we're giving Circle customers the ability to hold, send, and receive US dollars as well as bitcoin -- instantly, securely, and with no fees. In addition to sending and receiving dollars, customers can also enjoy the benefits of the Bitcoin network without the risk of price volatility.

Interesting moves from Circle.

Goldman Sachs investment sure to raise some eyebrows

are you noticing a theme here?  don't bother to really credit Bitcoin as the plumbing underneath enabling the intl transfer of dollar balances:

Circle’s robust support for Bitcoin also gets even better. If customers choose to hold dollars instead of bitcoin balances, they can still pay any person or merchant who accepts payment in bitcoin, without ever holding bitcoin themselves. Circle will handle instant conversion from dollars into bitcoin at the time of the payment. The reverse is also true: customers can accept bitcoin and expect Circle to convert it instantly into dollars in their Circle accounts. This gives customers the benefits of bitcoin payments without the risk of price volatility.

This way, customers can choose to view Bitcoin not as a new currency to replace the dollar, but as an Internet payment network that enables secure, instant, global and nearly free payments.

The only theme I'm noticing is you letting these absolutely inoffensive distractions bother you.

Gentlemen, get your engines ready

Whoa. You would have been called a dreamer predicting this kind of news "in three years" in 2012.

Wait till you read this:

New Dollar Features

We’re also introducing new US dollar features that enable customers to hold, send, and receive dollars. Customers with dollar accounts gain all of the benefits of digital currency -- instant, secure and free payments to anyone in the world -- without holding or explicitly converting dollars into bitcoins. Dollar account balances held by Circle customers are FDIC-insured.

Actually, I wasn't agreeing with his whole concept of just depending on headers and a hash of the UTXO set for a full node. I still think it's important for every new full node to download the entire block chain initially to build a valid UTXO set before discarding  any blocks. But I do like the idea of adding a  hash of the UTXO set into each block to ensure it's integrity.

You don't seem to quite get it.

From who do you suppose you will "download" the entire block chain initially.?

I don't care if you stick "validating" nodes on every USB key you can get your hands on. This does not improve the number of COMPLETE copies of the transaction log from which nodes can sync on the network.

Did you bother reading the last link I posted? To quote

Quote
Finally (for the purposes of this piece), there is the immutable transaction log. The log demonstrates incontrovertibly the complete heredity of each and every satoshi, from coinbase to unspent output. This globally-shared, append-only log cannot be disentangled from that which is Bitcoin. Nodes that run with "pruned" blockchains will still always depend on the existence of nodes with unpruned blockchains from which to sync. Perhaps in some idyllic (for the fiat shitgnomes) world, the entire Bitcoin network would switch over to this "headers first" synchronization method, bypassing the all-important verification of each transaction in each block.

So much for inclusion and "nodes" propagation when only people who can afford petabytes of storage can run the only nodes that matters and that are foundation to the Bitcoin network

These things will be plugged in everywhere as full nodes:

I don't think 64 GB of storage is gonna cut it.

Long term, pruning.

Full nodes needs all blockchain on disk. No place for "pruning".
