why is there no news from Luke-JR on his trip to BFL yet?
You mean: Why has there been no communication at all from anyone at BFL since Luke arrived? One possible answer is: There was an accident where Joshs plane did not land where it should have, but instead in the Bahamas. The real question then becomes: How did they fit 22 people into a Diamond Star?

Oh good, another card scammer.
Oh, wait, I debunked this one already, hu.
|
|
|
Yet another one of these?
Isn't that how it always goes? Something works once and then the retard mind goes: "Hey, if it works once, it'll work a hundred times as good if I repeat it a hundred times." And the result is the Internet.

24 what? Dollars? Euros? Zimbabwean shells?

I'm noticing a distinct lack of Luke posting anything but pictures of neon signs.

I'm not talking about your security measures. I mean the whole concept of lend/loaning minuscule amounts of BTC just for the purpose of "building a rep" is severely flawed. It stinks of building cred to scam all the better in the future.

|
|
Yes! Lol, I wont use it. This is just so newbies can get more rep
Confidence loans are an idiotic concept that needs to die. Fast.

Even better. So that system is already in place.

Well I know less than you on this (and it shows how well used a feture it must be) But if I understand correctly, There is no way to varify a new user, As there is no "history" of the signature? So at some point someone has to take a first gamble? Which instantly make me think of shill acounts and fake build up, We have to keep using coins to keep the system alive, But the way things are going, Everyone will be to scared to spend them for feer of it not arriving to the person they wanted it to. ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Yes, the repository would only work reliably for established users. The idea is specifically preventing things like your situation where an established users forum account is taken over. I think you are very right in assuming that these things will be happening more often now.

Not much point in I.P's mose scammers use TOR anyway, We need something else.
If we're dealing with identity theft do we not already have a solution for that with the signature function in the client? I thought that just ties up the client with a address, If an account is hacked, Could it not come from any client? Now I don't claim to understand the signature thingy completely, but the way I understand it it is possible to sign a message with the client. This signature depends on the context of the message and the wallet keys and can be checked for authenticity in another client. The following should then be possible: - Build a central repository of signatures for users (yeah, yeah, I know, centralization bad, but bear with me) - When a user requests a loan, have him sign that message with the client. - Now you should be able to check that signature against the signature in the repository via your own client and determine if the person is indeed who they claim to be. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. I'm not good with the signature stuff, it breaks my brain, but this is how I would assume it works.

Oh boy, slow support from a hobbyist website over the weekend. Now how could that happen?
Btw, how much do you pay again for your service level contract?

Shouldn't have given up on bitcoin! If they had simply held onto the bitcoin they earned for meals, could have possibly kept them in business. Don't convert your bitcoin back to fiat! HOLD
just imagine if the Meze Grill owner had saved all the BTC paid to him since day 1 of opening his doors to Bitcoin. he might have been able to retire by now.
I don't think you can retire on 17 BTC. Meze Grills' Bitcoin account (the one they had as "a QR code on a big laminated card": http://blockexplorer.com/address/1MTbKpYWnzqmsLvCjdTtwrvuX81g3HCgC
