Article in German on the NZZ (New Zurich Newspaper) one of the Major Newspapers in Switzerland, due to this and the FUD Character I'm Posting a (mix of machine and manual) translation of it: The economic and financial crisis has resuscitated the interest in alternative currencies. This includes Bitcoins. Due to their relation to dealing in illicit drugs their are watched more and more suspicious.
The economic and financial crisis has enhanced the interest in alternative currencies. This includes Bitcoins. The digital cash is distributed on the internet since early 2009. Since its introdution it has faced varios scandals. This led to the fact that the virtual currency has always been considered suspicious, but it has survived. The course has risen recent months and it has left all the other currencies of the world behind. On Friday, 22 December, Fri 12:34 were required to purchase a unit of the artificial currency. In the beginning of the year not even full 4 Fr where needed.
Bitcoin may be a brilliant idea, a currency independent of governments and central banks in parallel to introduce other means of payment and use. However, it has one big problem, namely the anonymity. The fact that transactions can not be traced, seduces to all sorts of illegal activities. Thus, for example on the website "Silk Road" - it is not freely available, but only on private, encrypted networks - one can buy products that may be paid exclusively with Bitcoins. There, various goods are traded, among other prohibited drugs and intoxicants.
A study by Carnegie Mellon University shows that in the first half of this year, nearly 2 million dollars have been exchanced on the platform. The trading of marijuana led to peak sales. Finally, the drug has a market share of just under 14% of the popular products.
The analysis also revealed a remarkable correlation between the demand for illegal drugs and the performance of Bitcoins in comparison with regular currencies.the scientists from the American University explained pragmatically "The increasing demand for drugs on the "Silk Road" have assumed quasi-inflationary character and driven the price of the currency used there up". They think the easiest thing to do to prevent illegal drug sales is to disrupt the trade of the virtual currency. For this reason, one must probably expect turbulence on this international market in the coming months.
Very surprisingly the the Author Christof Leisinger was a Financial consultant on a international Bank before becoming a Journalist. Might have got a call from a former college to make an article on bitcoin? Source: http://www.nzz.ch/finanzen/uebersicht/portfolio/vorsicht-vor-bitcoins-1.17918461

I really want to go in jail for 4 years in exchange for $7 million. Any ideas? Otherwise in next 4 years I expect to earn only about 8000 USD if I'm lucky and work really hard.
What, where do you live? You would have to live in one of the ~10 poorest Countries in the World for that. Which is meaning you would probably not have Internet.

Yes, I was still sleepy from listening.

The police officer sounds like a cool guy, but you have NOT solved the problem.
You need to start verifying the identities of depositors and people withdrawing money from your exchange like Mt Gox and other operations do. Not only is this your protection against being an exit from the fiat system for criminals, but the law may sometimes require it too (depending on thresholds, etc).
Whilst the police officer was obviously nice to you, don't take it personally if they come back and charge you with something. You clearly know there's abuse of your service and you will be expected to stamp it out. ID verification is the way to do that, so get on it.
Months ago I started requiring ID of bank transfer depositors I suspect of being fraudalent. But even if I required this from everyone it wouldn't be a foolproof way to avoid this specific type of scam. If the "seller" successfully convinces the buyer that he needs to provide identification documents to get his iPhone then we're still vulnerable. I agree it would very likely make the risk of this happening smaller. Wouldn't the save way just be to require everyone to have Bitcoin Nordic or something similar in the purpose (or how ever it is called in English) field of every transaction. everybody would wonder, why he has to put Bitcoin Nordic in there for his iPhone. And if you get transactions with the words Ebay in it this is clearly a warning sign.

The funnies thing about this statement is really that figuring out how to use binary newsgroups is a lot harder than to learn how to use Bitcoin.

Yup, it was getting boring lately, so I missed a few episodes. Seems like the producer has noticed the decline in viewer ratings and has chosen to add back some drama.
When did Dank get a arrest warrant? That's something I've missed.
My wish for the next season: The return of Rarity.
But the Dank lost his soul plot, could also get interesting.

The "asian company" thing is a point.
As for the delivery Time. Even if BFL really has a working prototype now (as they claim). And even if their production line is ready. I personally see now way how they could ship in January (as they claim).
I would say, keep a little diversity in the portfolio of Nasty is a save thing to do. Maybe this is a good opportunity to test the poll function of Nastyfans?

Well Dank seems like you Soul is now owned by Squall Dank Soul Guarantee - Danksurance The Dank Soul Gurantee is my karma based system of insurance. I acknowledge and respect that karma would play a negative role on me if I were to steal anybodies deposit, thus, offering an incentive to not perform such an action. Dank Bank, as with many other investment opportunities, is largely trust based. I hereby give my word and my soul that I will perform as an honest trader, no exceptions.
That raises the Question, can a Soulless Being still express love? So we couldn't kill love, but you did it yourself.

I will pay everyone back with love, all those that are accepting of it. Those that understand and believe my words will make a loving transition to the new world rather than a fearful transition to confusion. If the world that is ends, you have the choice to allow fear direct you to death, or for love to lead you to heaven.
When you understand the universe is infinite, you understand you can explore this plane of reality in any manner you believe, as a point of consciousness, when all doubt in our mind is abandoned. This happens at death, or when humans learn how to consciously stop killing. The later is much more peaceful.
Year, just print more love as you need it. Inflating the worth of love to nearly nothing by giving it away in the millions. As long as People like Dank have the power over creating love, it will become more and more worthless. We need something different, something with a limited amount. I'm thinking about a LoveCoin with a Proof of Care concept.

When will you start accepting "inverstors" (just kidding)
Nice attempt and hell about time that someone starts inflating this ridiculous high interest expectations here (5-10% is still high, though).

What a fantastic clip.
WOW I never heard about Katherine Mangu-Ward before and she will definitely be on my radar from now on :-) Exactly. Fantastic Interview. The first 10 Seconds are hilarious. Psst. Want to buy some secret stuff?... I didn't know Stossel either (not from the US) but I will look into some of his online shows now.

Thanks to my awesome settings of Google Alerts I found this (Or should I say Google found this for me?): http://forums.radioreference.com/community-announcements-news/257379-ask-rr-would-you-pay-subscription-bitcoins.html Default Ask RR: Would you pay for a subscription with Bitcoins? I'm curious - how many of you out there would pay for a premium subscription using Bitcoins?
If you aren't familiar with Bitcoin, please see here for more info:
Bitcoin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'd love to hear the communities' thoughts. There seems to be no interest from the users, though. Quite the contrary, some of them seem more or less offended by even considering it.

Subforum is OK, IMO. If not, a Mod can always move it.
For the reply:
If they are already made a show on Bitcoin, I would focus on the transition Bitcoin has made from beeing (more or less) nothing on the time they made their first cast, to the speculative bubble shortly after, to become a really usable tool in the last year.
Mention all the (positive) things that have formed around Bitcoin since their first show:
Bitpay: over 2000 merchants Bitcoin-Central The Bitcoin Foundation. Bitcoin Magazine Wordpress 4Chan Coinabul expand its gold-selling business from nothing in October 2011 to over 120,000 BTC of gold sold this year. Marked Capitilazion broke 100 Mil USD.
Also Mention Entrepreneur Wonderland to add diversity:
GLBSE and it's shutdown Bitcoinia ASIC
If you sell this right, than you can put it like "Everyone can try to make a BTC Business, some rise and some fall, but it's free for all".
