2901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: eBay to be pursuing crypto payment options for its customers. Thoughts on: May 03, 2021, 10:40:54 PM
eBay as a place to pay for NFTs? that's crazy.... I don't think a lot of customers on eBay know about bitcoin and cryptos, most of their users buy real stuff and not digital ones... But for sure eBay don't want to miss this party, I mean if the half-million house would be sold on eBay they would take a nice piece of that cake, I think that's the main reason they are interested in adding that technology to the site.

But if they add NFTs that doesn't mean the users will use their platform to post their digital work, lets see how high will be their fees for this service.

it's a place for bidding where prices are getting on top of the roof, it should make sense where we could sell NFTs. ebay, however, is not becoming popular anymore i'm not sure if there are still users buying there. but this NFTs and accepting crypto might just revive them. anyone right now can make an NFT art. we've seen the "disaster girl" was sold for $500K.
2902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Haney vs Linares - May 29 on: May 03, 2021, 07:53:57 AM
Latest odds for those who are curious:

Again, odd makers are putting Haney as outstanding favorite here, not good for ML.

Better wait for other betting options, not worth for Haney, unless you have a big money to gamble as that odds. But for ordinary gamblers like many of us here, not very attractive.

A Linares odds though, if he can only upset Haney here.
No doubt about that ML, I will not bet on that, better to throw some money on Linares, at least he beats Haney, it will be a big win for us.

Or as you just said, better wait for options, I'm sure bookies are going to open more choices for us. I'm curious as what could be the odds of Haney winning by decision.

there's gotta be a knockout in this match. they lightweight but they are heavy hitters. the knockout rates is astonishing. haney winning by knockout or linares which i guess a big win for you.

the odds however is disappointing. if they add some options like which round will linares will fall, that's going to be a big winning odd to bet for haney. I'm guessing in 3rd round?

That's the betting options that I'm waiting for this fight.

However, I don't think that Haney will win by knockout in the 3rd round. Of all the 4 champions, Lopez, Davis, Garcia and himself, he is the one with the pillow fisted. He is somewhat boring but technical and doesn't have the one punch power like the rest of champions. So probably it can go to distance and him winning a close UD. Or if Linares gets tired and then hit with a perfect body shot (his weakness), it could be over in round 10 or less.

That's a good prediction mate, I don't also expect that Haney will KO Linares in the early rounds, his style is different from other aggressive boxers who would want to end the fight right away, he is very careful, follow his plan with discipline but the end he would still win.

I guess the best bet is Haney to win by UD.. that if you want to stay on a safer side, otherwise the opposite of that bet would give you a better odds.
if the fight doesn't end early, linares is going to be defeated.

round 10 makes both fighters weak. most probably both their gas tanks are exhausted before they could throw a knocking punch. still not a punching power that we could consider, it's just that they got tired already, body is going to be a lot heavier to pull up by the 10th round. it's good to watch if they both brawl in the beginning rounds.

2903  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Chinese Crypto Exchange Paralyzed After Suffering Serious Cyber Attack on: May 03, 2021, 06:28:15 AM
It has been proven again and again that centralized exchanges are not to be fully trusted when it comes to both your money and your personal information.
There may be more than one side to the story, here we are seeing from the customer perspective.

There is serious lack in security measures among centralized exchanges and every few months we see one new exchange getting hacked and the owners are probably ramping security up but not going up to the mark.

Likewise they rarely store the coins on a hot wallet beyond a max value. Most cold wallets are not directly connected and therefore the theft of funds are not immense. Still this sector lacks a lot in legal concerns as to how they protect their customers and those who are putting their trust in them. One thing I hope will change if in future we can see a regulation in crypto.

The idea that you should not store coins on exchange is an ideal one. What happens to the ones who left trades open overnight and went to sleep? Their money gets locked up for now. Hoping that they become operational again and take proper measures to prevent such incidents again.

every time this happens, it will remind the users of mtgox or cryptopia to once again withdraw coins from the exchanges as part of precautions to attacks like these.
but it's good to know they are guaranteeing to be liable to users, unlike other exchanges. i thought this hotbit is a Korean exchange. i never use it though, it becomes popular during the IEO time in 2018-2019.

if it was Vindax or p2pb2b exchange that is hacked, i wouldn't hope fund to be returned.

2904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum price will now go down again after reaching 3k? on: May 03, 2021, 05:51:58 AM

Winklevoss says something else about ETH.

Winklevoss Ethereum Price Prediction Tyler Winklevoss on Why ETH Will Hit $100,000 GUARANTEED!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8AXY1oK2GU

it's not really that believable but these guys are really trying to help the cryptocurrency to be known to regular people. Raoul Pal also has his eyes on ETH that will probably exceed BTC. now he is sayings it's better than BTC because it's a lot more executable and programmable money.
2905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi Projects on: May 03, 2021, 04:40:02 AM

DeFi activities to draw financial backers since financial backers have interest in DeFi projects like many guaranteed, recall what happened when ICO entered crypto space. on the off chance that we will base on Defi's publicity over the most recent three months or something like that, however nothing has transform, it is still promotion, sorry to blast the air pocket for altcoin financial backers. The best thing about that will be that paying little heed to how much the Varus blockchain rewards excavators far beyond the pre-decided coinbase reward.

true that. it's possible that banks will actually apply the same principle. i use to read replies about Defi just hype but now even the centralize platforms are already applying the same concept. blockfi seem to become a good one for example. and then now we can now see swapping platforms of such awful names already.

the new defi that i have tried investing is the SOVRYN. its DEFI on top of Bitcoin.
2906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Puzzle from a California professor on: May 02, 2021, 07:12:22 AM
great idea and it's a good promotion for his book. It's a 12 seed words which is too difficult to really find. all the words are there in the book. with that, he wouldn't have to prove that there really is a bitcoin seed hidden there.  and if someone finds the key already, people will also stop buying?   Grin

with this idea i think a lot of writers will follow this kind of promotion.
2907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bad advices regarding Bitcoin on: May 02, 2021, 05:46:55 AM
we've done terrible mistakes while we are new to this industry. I've been using blockchain.info wallet when i first started. worse is that i forgot the password of the email, i can't recover it and then also forgot the password of blockhain wallet. a small amount is left there that is now worth $200. it's going to be funny if all we practiced today that seems to be right could turn out to be wrong after all in the future like installing wallets on phone.
2908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla and market manipulation crime on: May 02, 2021, 05:15:48 AM

If it's not Tesla or Elon who bought 1.5B worth of BTC and sold 10% and then bought again, would there be someone we identify he manipulated the market?  it's the same situation that we buy at a low price and sell at ATH.

the laws may be different in some countries but a rich man like him could get away if he really violates such law. it could be something else if he sold 100%.
2909  Economy / Speculation / Re: How risky do you feel investing in Bitcoin is in this point of time? on: May 02, 2021, 05:00:44 AM
Just want to see a general consensus of how risky investing in Bitcoin here is in this point of time.  Me? I feel it's on the verge of being hardly risky at all.  So my answer is a little risky.   I know, controversial poll but oh well.

I have almost no risk at all, I trade with very free money, get it from the results of the campaign, trading casually is my happiness, Once doing scalping it scares me.

If you are using free money to invest in bitcoin and trade, then you have no tension because even if you lose the money, you know it was not your hard earned money. OP is asking for those people who want to buy bitcoin at current levels above 55K with their fiat money. Its always scary to buy bitcoin now because when you look at the past few months and thought you could have bought bitcoin at 20K, 30K, 40K but didn't buy.  Cry

the ones who had free money are the ones who joined the signature campaigns like us. the ones who actually invest thru p2p with their own money are feeling the risk when were lured to invest near the peak of BTC price. these are newbies in crypto, if they see the price dips over $1K a day, they tend to panic and sell. lose amount and then after seeing the price went up again they buy.

2910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Trending on China on: May 01, 2021, 08:23:55 AM
I think that's a good thing, but it's not something special. Here in my country many social media business account talk about bitcoin and it seems that many countries are more familiar with bitcoin. Although China has big number of population but bitcoin is currently used by many more people across the world. I think the effect that china can give to bitcoin is not significant.

it's going to be significant because by allowing people to invest in BTC, they might also allow people to mine BTC as well which we all know they previously were regulating and busting bitcoin mining farms. when they do allow them, more virgin coins will only be created in China which the government and the institutions based in China may even buy from these mining farms. they could dominate, corner and control the market
2911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JUST CURIOUS on: May 01, 2021, 04:27:37 AM
seeing top influencers buying into bitcoin and some going public to talk about shows bitcoin is a step ahead in the expected direction. everyone is probably buying and holding to sell at a higher price later. just curious to know how long these guys will hold bitcoin and what price they will likely sell ? is it even possible to know their mind ? but i am sure they are in for long term. what do you feel about this. ?

you won't know what is in their mind until they sold already. rumors spread like wildfire after they sell.

but you got to put in mind that the world monetary system is being reset. they won't waste a good covid crisis to take the opportunity so once it's fixed and covid stops there could be a slowdown and stable prices and then selling as well. things will change and could be permanent as well like covid passports and so on.
2912  Economy / Economics / Re: “You don’t spend money now, you can’t spend after you died” on: May 01, 2021, 03:58:56 AM

that's the worse advice you could get from someone. you wouldn't do that if you still have plans to live because once you don't have funds after covid, you will not live long because we don't even know if covid will end soon. whether covid is true or not like what conspiracy theorists claim, it's here already.

what is needed now is to earn more and invest in BTC because it could be the only that will save you. you don't even have to die yet.
2913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be a Responsible Gambler on: May 01, 2021, 02:32:37 AM
yes, for those who gamble only for entertainment and pleasure, to be precise only for those who have a lot of money, he will not feel worried if he loses in gambling. of course they are able to take responsibility for the consequences of the risks that will be faced. Most people who make gambling their source of income will easily give up when they experience losses and will not be satisfied if they get a few wins.
That's why gamblers should play with money that they afford to lose, never gamble with borrowed money or hot money what I mean is it will be used on other things or to buy daily stuff. I suppose it's fine if sometimes do gamble on purpose to earn but to fully rely on gambling as of the earning incomes are the wrong mindset.

Situational awareness is a must, because most of the time what we start for fun leads towards disaster. Myself too never had the thought of making big money out of gambling, but the winning made me spend more and more. Finally when I've lost everything I don't have any other way to get it back. This is where we do stupidity. Taking a break and analysing well with alternate plans is the wise choice.

just be responsible in gambling you just can't spend everything on gambling. remember that there are millionaires that actually turned their lives as miserable homeless because they spend it all. some men just don't know when to stop. showing off pays.

after losing it all, you'll gonna have to look back and say what if and then feel the weight on the shoulder when the people who use to be on your side now are gone because you don't have money as well.

2914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My crypto portfolio, please give me some feedback on: April 30, 2021, 11:49:36 PM
jezz you have followed all those tokens?  that's a lot to keep track if you keep trading them if you somehow follow trend to trade with the fundamental news.

well the percentage in your portfolio doesn't count because it's the quantity of the tokens you keep. if you have 0.15% of VET then how much are those if it's about 100K VET tokens then it's a lot of money already assuming you bought them at a price below $0.10.
2915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will governments destroy stablecoins in the long term? on: April 30, 2021, 11:20:56 PM

the US government will favour the use of stablecoin because it will still put USD as the reserve currency despite the crashing economy.
It's yet not clear how they could take advantage of the market but if one day the government-backed stablecoin will be one of the stablecoins used in crypto, it's going to be clear that they like it being part of the crypto ecosystem. the government can easily get tax from it.
2916  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase Adds PayPal As Payment Option For U.S. Users on: April 30, 2021, 12:47:01 PM
Have Binance already done this or are they just going to do it?

not sure. credit and debit cards are already given but not paypal. they only allow it p2p.

well now that coinbase started it binance might also add it so paypal users will have the chance to  withdraw their btc to their btc wallets. its what is needed for paypal users. i agree that this is targetting the retail investors, small investors.
2917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sovryn - price prediction when public sale will be open on: April 30, 2021, 09:39:55 AM

its dropping to $40 https://coins.green/ shows its marketcap $ 95,344,128.16, they should also be adding the 24 hour volume. marketcap is really big for a project that's new. the price however is dipping, could this be because there is a signature running?

i bought few, thought it's gonna go up way further than 10K satoshis. someone should make CMC update its data.

It's not even caused by signature, the first-week payment is not even happening and how can you say like that? pump and dump was a common thing in the crypto. Once there will be big news to come soon and it will increase again.
This is a hidden gem. CZ was even following Yago's Twitter since a few months ago. It looks like CZ is still monitoring this project.

that's just one assumption though. interesting to know CZ is also following Yago. i first found out about the project when they did a campaign and then they mentioned Pomp on their website which he lends a number of BTC. very trustworthy people following the project.

it looks like the fluctuation is giving a good opportunity that within a week it skips right to $52 from $40. i only have less than 50SOV should it be worth staking or just keep trading it?

2918  Economy / Speculation / Re: 6 reasons why you should buy Bitcoin right now (at USD 50K-53K) on: April 30, 2021, 08:27:00 AM

most of all. the profit to make which OP didn't add as one of the reasons. the bullrun isn't over just as we had expected and since it had already crossed several times to $60k i guess it will once again try that resistance which i guess many of us will still be selling by the time it crossed that price again. the money to make still is a good profit while you stack BTC.

he isn't the only that lose over time the seasoned traders sometimes also lose his position overnight but not entirely his funds its just the way it is sometimes you lose sometimes you win.

now when it comes to being an advocate against crypto trading, the crypto trading doesn't end. lets say he is the most popular influencer on the internet, can he stop people from trading?  ofc not. all he needs is to get back his feet and try winning back his loss.
