2901  Economy / Reputation / Re: I could be wrong but what if? on: June 26, 2022, 06:21:19 PM
Actually, the problem is bounty managers are looking for mass workers, not quality workers. If only quality work is accepted I can bet 80% of participants will leave this work after a few campaigns. Also recently some low-rank bounty manager appears who doesn't care about their reputation and ready to promote scam project if they got money for them. I also think we should leave that matters for now.
The usual bounty campaigns are just numbers in social media. Shill in Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Medium, and may other platforms. There are no genuine conversation but all misinformation. The bounty hunters even do not understand the project. Project team, campaign manage know it but they do not mind, they are not paying anything for it at all.

It's the market that turned wrong. It was a lot better in late 2017 at ICO peak time. Because these tokens had at least some value back then. A user who is a little informed they know it's waste of time now. Only the new people who heard that they can make money from bounty, they try. After few participation probably they realize the reality or why do we see many newbie fresh accounts in bounty campaigns.

The bright side is, from these newbies sometimes we get some people who find the forum interesting and continue. We have so many such examples.
2902  Economy / Reputation / Re: User: Unknown01 threatens me with a forum ban for saying my opinion on: June 26, 2022, 05:52:50 PM
He also said that he already has a list for of "suspicious" accounts that refute his Russian propaganda and that he wants banned by theymos. In short: I'm told to either shut up or get banned by the admins.
Forum staffs, admin do not involve with members' affairs. The ban happens if you plagiarize contents but in other occasions it's very rare case.

If there would be a ban, Unknown01 would be first. Unknown01 is providing no value to the forum and now he's starting to attack new accounts.
The user seems known to me, I mean I saw him many times in posts like I see a lot of you. I did not see his recent activities (may consider a look) but the name sounds familiar to me and I get the feel that he is not a shit poster. Anyway, I will look at his post history shortly before making any bad assumption.

Is that me only seeing another complain in local board after the Arabic section? Feels me so many hates and bad arguments in local boards between homies.
2903  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] DT2 Status; how many net inclusions should it take? on: June 26, 2022, 05:11:59 PM
I think it should be Net 1 but with 2 inclusions minimum (i.e. like the current formula but bumped up by 1).

I really like this proposal, so I reset the poll and included this option.  If you've voted, please vote again.
I like the proposal too. At least it's better than having just one inclusion. But I will always like to have higher number of net inclusion. It reduce the chances of spam DT2 members. Right now it is too easy to be in DT2. No disrespect to anyone but many users are using it in their favour very easily.

Voted again but unfortunately I pressed the wrong option LOL
I wanted to go with Net of 3 or more DT1 Inclusions 😂
2904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are the Miners acting as the biggest whale! on: June 26, 2022, 03:17:26 PM
Consequently, their every move has a strong impact on the market.
This may impact for short terms but in the long terms the market stables and it moves on with its own terms.

2012 bottom was $3
2014 bottom was $300
2017 bottom was $1200
2020 bottom was $5300
Is there any sequence in the numbers?

2012 to 2014 the percentage gain is super high, 2014 to 2017 is not much higher compering to the first but close to 2017 to 2020. It's 300 to 350% gain. From 2020 to current rate it's around $21000. We have under $18k few days ago. Shall we consider it as already a bottom?

I understand it does not make sense though 😂

You need to sign the address to prove the ownership. Many non-custodial wallet will give you easy access to sign an address. You can check this tutorial. Electrum was used in this example.
2906  Economy / Services / Re: Campaign project on: June 26, 2022, 01:52:20 PM
I’m looking for help with my project building a block chain for an app and developing the app for the market please let me know the app will be just to jump Off point.
First of all this is a wrong board to ask suggestion.
Second, unless you are serious about what you are saying, at least not giving much useful information I do not think anyone will really be interested to spend time to write you back.

Project Development board could be a good choice for you. Please move it there.

Sorry I needed to delete the post. I will suggest to share it on the discussion thread if it is necessary. I removed one more posts too. This topic is about celebrating the ranking up or any achievement you are excited about. I appreciate to limit the discussion. It will be easier for the readers.
2908  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: I am panicking on: June 26, 2022, 01:32:38 PM
Probably not. Wiping a drive doesn't actually delete the data on it, it just tells the OS that the data is unneeded and it can be written over whenever needed. Unless you actually write over the data though, then it still exists after being deleted. There are pieces of software out there which will write junk data to your hard drive to make it safe, but the best option is simply to remove and keep/destroy the hard drive and sell the laptop without it.
I went to a hardware shop to consult with an expert to understand basics and suggestions. According to him there are no reason for me to panic. If I want to recycle a laptop then I can just take the SSD the storage component and sell the device or throw away without any worry. In my imagination I was expecting a huge box connected to the motherboard but when I saw the size of it I was surprised, it's even smaller that those RAMs back in 2000s 😂

He does not have much knowledge about hardware wallets but in general according to him there should be a storage and I need to destroy it for safety if the device is not in use.

If it doesn't work anymore, then what do you have to lose by destroying it?
On the video the wallet device was not destroyed then?

In the case of PC wiping, you can simply use any software that wipes the entire hard disk with a Gutmann 35-pass algorithm, so that tere is no chane for the data to be read except for possibly a very powerful electromagnetic reader that is only available at data recovery labs, and are most likely very expensive. The average user isn't going to bother with that hassle right after bying a used PC.
Formatting the entire drive means wiping out everything in it or still it is possible to recover data using proper data recovery tools?

Code:
[img]https://ibb.co/pxMr66S[/img]
Added "code" to explain better.
This is not image link but the web page link of the image.

Code:
[img]https://i.ibb.co/wRPrZZf/imgbb.jpg[/img]
This is an image link. Notice the file extension (.jpg) at the end of the URL. You can also call this "link for the image file".

But why? In my experience, imgbb always worked properly without requiring an account.
You do not need to. Even after uploading the file mouse hover on the image > right click > click on Copy Image Address. The URL of the address will be copied in our clipboard. Put the URL in between the "img" ([img]) tag. 😉
2910  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / I am panicking on: June 25, 2022, 06:40:12 PM
I just saw this video. He hacked the hardware wallet and restored the seed. Goosebumps experience for me.

Consider, I created a bitcoin wallet. I have back up seed stored in physical form.
Situation 1. My desktop has broken and I can no longer use it. Which part of the device I need to burn to destroy all information from it or keep for safety.
Situation 2. I am not going to use the laptop anymore, I have reset my windows to remove all files. Is it safe to sell it or give it away to someone to use?

Consider, I have a hardware wallet and seed is backed up safely in physical form.
Situation 1: The hardware device is not functional anymore. Should I panic and burn it to destroy the data completely?
Situation 2: How safe it is to hand out a used and reset hardware wallet to someone else who does not know the seed I had for it?

How the fuck I never considered to think of these before?
2911  Other / Meta / Re: Trouble posting images? on: June 25, 2022, 05:28:30 PM
Doesn't work (invalid proxy image):

The link is working valid:

Testing by removing the "code" tag. I will update the post with result 😂
Technical: For browser I am using Firefox with tor connection.
Preview works fine for both with and without image URL link

Update: Like I was expecting image with url tag and without url tag works fine 😂
2912  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin drops to $8k on: June 25, 2022, 05:04:49 PM
You will also find people who were crazy to buy when Bitcoin was at ATH. But now that the market is giving them a chance to buy at a lower price, they are waiting to buy at a lower price. They don't really want to know about Bitcoin and they don't want to think about the bright future of Bitcoin.
You never know where is the top and where is the bottom. The best course of action is DCA. Whenever you have money for shopping buy bitcoin. Accumulate as much as possible without worrying about the price. But if the price drops significantly then push your buying habit and rest of the time just practice the regular buying habit.

For example, a bitcoin nerd would still buy bitcoin when the price was $60K up but not pushing it hard, over $100k is fine or even more does not matter. But when price dropped to $40k, he will push a little hard to buy more than usually he does. When price is dropping more and at this stage when its under $22k he gives his best. However when price drops further he collects more money (however it's possible) and buy even more! Always have a spreadsheet to know your average price. After few years when you think you have enough of it and the price is obviously above your average price, enjoy your vacation. Life is very simple.

Depositing money in the bank is not going to make your rich, the inflation rate will eat up your gains.

What id the the “grammarly ” like score for this post? 😉
This is not an English learning forum but bitcoin forum but adding some cool feature to help correcting grammar will be helpful. Although a Firefox extension works just fine.

Imagine if all the spam on this forum suddenly had to meet a grammar score standard, lmao..
You want the staff to be fired? 😂
2914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador loses more than half the value of its reserves in bitcoins on: June 25, 2022, 03:21:05 PM
$50 million is really a small sum for any country, even as small as El Salvador. If they had 10% or higher of their foreign currency in Bitcoin, this would be a problem. I'm actually surprised that despite all the Bitcoin maximalism rhetoric, El Salvador didn't go as much all in on Bitcoin as Microstrategy did.
The government of El Salvador should be in buying mood now. This could be an opposite news if bitcoin value against dollar was $100k. There are no time for bitcoin network to care for a value against a fiat. It's always 1BTC = 1BTC. Whatever reserve El Salvador has it's still the same if they have not spent it.
2915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why Bitcoin will never go to zero on: June 25, 2022, 03:12:04 PM
It is just so easy for them to move markets with just few words.
They are doing it since the birth of bitcoin or safe to say since they noticed bitcoin for a threat for them. Free people do not care them and we are enough or bitcoin would not survive over a decade.

There will be 21 million of bitcoin. Being the chance of zero became invalid when satoshi had the first transaction. There will be no zero.

Sarcasm aside, we are talking about value. Bitcoin will become zero when there will be no buyer for it. As long as there will be a single person to buy bitcoin the value is never zero. At this prize I am looking for cash to buy bitcoin. I know many people are doing the same. Right now the price is $21,100. If we have lines of people to buy bitcoin at a price of $21,100 then imagine how many people will be in the line to buy the same bitcoin when the price is even going to under $10k or $5k or $1k (unlikely)

<snip>
You can market out a thing if you have control over it. An individual, a public or a private organization is not controlling bitcoin.
2916  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777, Bitlucy and long story in brief on: June 25, 2022, 02:23:52 PM
You could have asked nicely, you are too late to the show, I've been on this table from day 1.  Grin
Apology if that offended you. Being with it from the day 1 does not guarantee you are well informed. Hanging out does not mean that it was a dinner date in person. Bad choice of words to make the situation convincing for your argument. Process information without adding your imagination.

Disclaimer: I had access of some information that I was able to verify.

I see where is the problem. I expect Liverpool to win all their matches. I consider them unbeatable. Only in EPL, in a season they play 38 matches. I expect them to win all. Because I am a crazy fan. The expectation from Liverpool is so high to me that when they lose an ordinary match which is not gonna effect their point table at all, I feel upset. But when they lose an important match that cost them the title race, I feel devastated. I feel good by blaming each of the players on the ground to everyone relating to the club. Do I consider the pain that the players feel? They give their blood and sweat to win a match. Each of them are world class. I don't consider the hours they give to be in a match, I do not see the sacrifice they make to stay fit and be the footballer. All I have the result of the day. I don't know how appropriate this example was but I have a point.

Royse paid many users and worked with many projects. He organized many pools and non-profit events including a charity. None of them seem to go wrong. With the reputation he had, he could have easily collected money from many users with any excuse. Create a fake project, walk away with the funds. He could easily do that. You don't know when was the right time for him to pull the plug, you were not in his shoes. Lower your expectation. It's a person with flesh and blood. No saint.

2917  Other / Meta / Re: [SUGGESTION] A Confirmation POP-UP Message Before Publishing A Post on: June 25, 2022, 01:07:43 PM
After creating your post, when you click on the post button to publish your post, the system can be made to pop-up post confirmation message asking the poster "Are you sure you want to publish?" then the poster can have the option of clicking "YES" to publish post and "NO" to continue editing post, this would help  prevent publishing a post by mistake.
How many times you made this mistake? This one time or safe to say more once or twice.
I did not have such experience yet if I can remember the entire time with the forum. Many will say the same. So writing some extra line of codes to prevent something that happen once or twice in a life is not a good idea. Each line of code takes a fraction of time to execute on both client and server side (depending on the side it's executing). 10000 times 0.0001 seconds is a lot of time and it needs a lot of resources to be used.

You also need to consider clicking another button before making a successful post. Which takes time too. I hate it when a PM notification pops up while I load the site. I would like it to be notified with a notification icon like they do in Facebook or most other forums. I hate tool tip popup that needs a click event.
2918  Other / Meta / Re: Trouble posting images? on: June 25, 2022, 12:53:24 PM
They are tracking you with IP address tracing while you upload the images and for imgbb also this is privacy statement for them so using them over TOR is fine with the postingimages.org as it's working fine at this time.
On the internet don't trust anyone. I mean all the site set cookies to collect customer information and they make money out of it, they improve user experience from it. When you are in clear net checking up your email, you are giving them away your information. Even when you are browsing a site without entering anything, by just loading it you are giving them information. It's hard to avoid. That's where TOR helps. But since not everyone wants to be TOR friendly it's hard to use it for most of the service we use. So you make a choice. It's a choice like being with android or iOS. Some apps are not available in both platform so you sacrifice when it's not available for you or you have both.

I use clear net for many service but when it's cryptocurrency, I always like to break connections the possible way I can.
2919  Economy / Reputation / Re: dont trust in arabic people on: June 25, 2022, 10:55:55 AM
As soon as negative trust for being “racist” around here is an acceptable thing, this forum is over..
I do agree with you but I have some other point to make.
I think you're still embittered about the OP's choice of words regarding the alleged racist comment and not adhering to the subtle advice from eddie13. I checked your reference in the tag and it still pointed to your comment #16 on how racist the OP was. You may want to revisit and review your tag. We don't have to kill a fly with a sledgehammer. 👇

I over reacted anyway. But I explained my point in a post on this thread. These newbie accounts are here to spread lies and defamed information to create a chaotic environment between the users. An account with two posts and already successful to create arguments between few of us. Isn't he successful in it?

I removed the red tag though.
2920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I lost my trust wallet! Pay reward! on: June 25, 2022, 10:49:34 AM
@aecio1987, place an ad in the newspaper and on the radio or put up posters that you look for your mobile phone because you have some things in it that you are sentimentally attached to - of course offer a reward to whoever returns your mobile phone, and the reward should be higher than the price of the mobile phone.
At current price it's $346K (blood market). It's a lot of money. The investment for a big publicity could help to get the devices back. If the reward is high then even the thief could consider giving it back for the reward. This is indeed a good proposal.
