Hi,
I recently started to use some basic indicators like EMA to make my trading decisions.
Since I know how to make a bot, I already backtested some basic strategies.
I noticed that just with EMA cross, you could easily make 50% profit from December 2016 to now.
But of course the overall trend was upward or at least sideways in this timeframe.
When I test this or any other basic strategy I saw at timeframe eg. January 2014 to April 2014 (to keep the timeframe small), it always ends up in a big loss.
The overall trend was obviously downward in 2014.
All the bots I saw you can purchase at bitcointalk or cryptotrader have the same weakness. They make profits while the price is going up anyway. But you are warned by developers of the bot, to not use it in downtrends, cause it will result in loss.
What I would like to know:
Do you know any bot at cryptotrader or elsewhere, or a indicator strategy that can prove by backtest, that it would generate profits in 2014s downtrend?
Are you talking about bitcoin? because in this case we are obviously in an uptrend. $1000 is the new psychological barrier/floor where everyone is making money at by buying every single dip that goes below $1000, so keep buying the sub $1000 dips. I would not bother with bots. If bots worked then everyone would be rich. Im yet to see a bot that gives you consistent profits. Bitcoin is currently trading at $1038 which is a signed of upward trending from $550 as at October last year 2016. MA crossing is a laging indicator as is hardly predict the current happening in the market. What I think traders should focus their minds on is those stories that actually move the assets and crypto currencies price and pin bar market action strategy for entry and exits. |

I mean do you find yourself more successful in trading cryptocurrency than penny stocks?
I mean even bitcoin is an experiment than a $5 stock like $NOK $MNKD
Crypto currencies trading is far more better than penny stock as crypto currencies margins trading is more liquid than penny stock margins trading. For your information trading assets' are all the same as technical analysis and fundamental analysis are what determined the inflow and outflows of fund into The market. |

Investment like what? Ponzi, lending or hyip.when you talk about fixed deposit there are many investment companies related to bitcoin and crypto currencies such as cloud mining and other investment site online and many advert on bitcointalk every days. But I will advice we should concerns ourselves with trading than investment as its has a long-term benefits.

The way people bank of china are controlling bitcoin and other crypto currencies as if Satoshi is a Chinese is bad. My understanding of what they are doing is, creating unnecessary panic to keep bitcoin price below $1000 and this is bad for those buying and holding bitcoin. But very soon their effect on bitcoin will fail as many people will understand they tricks.

What do you think about the fact that cryptocurrencies will literally be the future ? In a few years, it will exploded and, be rich if we hold many ?
I have been thinking along this line this wide and for those that have many bitcoin they should keep holding as bitcoin and others crypto currencies is gaining popularity. I do believe that one day bitcoin will be trading above $10,000 and by then if you hold little amount of bitcoin you will be a millionaire in others currencies. |

I don't think satoshi will ever reveals his Identity for security reasons. The satoshi hide himself or herself is better for bitcoin community than coming out to Rob shudder with those evil world elites and destroy the fundamental nature of crypto currencies. March 11 will be a good or bad day for BTC. Do you guys think BTC should be part of Exchange Traded Funds by Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)?. I have read some articles saying this will make a boom in the BTC price in case of good news because Big traders might participate and invest high amounts of dollars.
my opinion concerning sec approval and disapproval on bitcoin to be trade by security and exchange commission is not a good omen for bitcoin as it will affect it decentralized nature and also it will affect it nature as money. We should see bitcoin and others crypto currencies as money. dollar cannot be trade as assets in stock exchange market the same way bitcoin should not be trade there. |

Bitcoin as a decentralized cryptocurrencies is far more better than being control by one country. I will not pray that should happen as America elites will used it to oppress the mass because they will try to buy all the coin and enslave their fellow citizens. But as a decentralized currency, the elites can't do that as no one knows the owners of individuals account.

I will not believed this news as there are a lot of propagation to demonized it. Bitcoin is money and we have to know that money is a medium of exchange for goods and services. Hi guys. I m new here. I have a question.. Everyday in the news we hear about a platform or project or even currency is built on etherum. One would expect Etherum price as result will shoot. But it is moving very slowly, regardless of whatever project is using etherum. Any explaintion ?  Bitcoin has over shadow all others coins. I have reasons along your thinking before and what your observed was a great observation. Every day we hard different types of Etherum project and good news from Asia, Europe but the price remained were it is. Another thing I have observed is that any news concerning blockchain, fluctuate bitcoin prices, this is a sign that bitcoin has dominate others altcoins including Etherum. |

Won't happen because then gold hoarders would lose all the value of their holdings  You have said the truth. The gold or other precious mental holder will not allow that to happen as greed will get on them.
