Hi all,

After hard working and collect some BTC's (lot of time) when i tryed spend money, the other part not got the money and at blockchain show's "Unspent" status.

Anyone can tell me if him will receive this money? Because the amount was already removed from my BTC wallet. The transaction show's 77 confirmations from now.

When you say "blockchain" do you mean blockchain.info? If so, keep in mind that its just a service and can be faulty. Always check with other blockchain explorers[1].

In other block explorer this transaction doesn't appear and as expected I didn't received any bitcoins Sad And now its a double spend transaction (my first time to experience :l ) Thanks anyways for the replies, I've been just fooled Grin

Never accept payment without a confirmation, these long chains barely confirm and they are hard to detect unless you check for them. Later TX in the chain can pay a high fee, so you cant look at the receiving TX alone.

2925  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum- New Version whats needed? on: February 07, 2016, 10:07:03 PM
Hello,

I very seldom use bitcoins and have electrum wallet. Now I wanted to make a transfer BUT it says something changed and I have to have at least Version 2.5.1(I have currently 2.3.2).
Okay, now the real Question, I do know my Password and thus I know what I wrote above.BUT I dont know my Seed right now at least.Im sure I have it somewhere at home but no idea where.
And, unfortunately I dont know if Im gonna need it if I install a newer version on the same directory or not.I googled a bit but didnt find information.
I dont have much on it, but 1btc is 400usd so I dont really wanna lose it unnecassarly either.
So yeah, would be much appreciated to know if you can download and simply install onto same directy without entering the seed and then still not needing it when transfering or if I do.
Because then obv. I have to look and find it first, which would suck.

You should not need the seed, but if you click on the little seed symbol in the lower right corner, enter your password you can write it down to be safe.
2926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin qt fail on: February 07, 2016, 10:05:29 PM
It worked! Thank you man!!!
You have no idea how much I love you right now haha.
Thank you for your help!

You are welcome. Send the coins to a wallet you properly secured, be that multibit hd, an electrum wallet that is covered by a seed or any other wallet you prefer. Dont keep the coins on that temp wallet.
2927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin qt fail on: February 07, 2016, 09:49:43 PM
Sorry for the spam, im just really worried because 100 euro's is not nothing for me. Apologies.

They are not lost, calm down.

I will download electrum now and try to copy wallet.dat

You cant just copy the wallet.dat into any other software.

I did not exported the private key yet. I used the commant and typed my password but what do you need to do next?
It says this:
walletpassphrase "passphrase" timeout

Stores the wallet decryption key in memory for 'timeout' seconds.
This is needed prior to performing transactions related to private keys such as sending bitcoins

Arguments:
1. "passphrase" (string, required) The wallet passphrase
2. timeout (numeric, required) The time to keep the decryption key in seconds.

Note:
Issuing the walletpassphrase command while the wallet is already unlocked will set a new unlock
time that overrides the old one.

Examples:

unlock the wallet for 60 seconds
> bitcoin-cli walletpassphrase "my pass phrase" 60

It means you are doing it wrong. I will make an example. Lets assume your password is "passw0rd" and your bitcoin address is "1LKwwbZZ3XtTznqTKZVnDgj8M59r2QACnv".

Open core, goto the console[1] and enter:

walletpassphrase passw0rd 120
quickly followed by:

dumpprivkey 1LKwwbZZ3XtTznqTKZVnDgj8M59r2QACnv

it will show something like this "5JC3aq4x63vzX4MMt1CKTymUeadZqFtoWAy9YyyzLrLiDv7CyAQ" - do not share this with anyone. (this key is just one I created for this example and is not used otherwise)

Now to import that key into electrum, do:

File -> New/Restore -> (select a name, e.g. temp wallet it does not really matter) -> select "Restore a wallet or import keys" and "Standard wallet" and confirm with next -> enter the private key like this:

and confirm with next.

Set a new password, wait a little bit til its synced (green light lower right). You should now be able to see a balance. If not let us know.

No one that can help me?
I tried copying wallet.dat to the Multibit files but it did not worked.

You might want to calm down a bit, just because you spam posts every 10 minutes does not mean you will get an answer sooner.

#1 multibit hd does not allow you to import keys, you need a different wallet or a wallet inbetween that allows you to send your funds to multibit hd.
#2 I suggest you use electrum for that. You can find it here -> https://electrum.org/
#3 Have you exported your private key from bitcoin core yet?

If sync took long, click on the symbols (where the green dot is), turn of auto connect and select a different server. Its usually syncs quickly if you do.

what the fuck ? remove -ve feedback, NOW ! i'm not a scammer  Angry.
The account doesnt deserve any feedback at all. You didnt do any of the trades.
Yes of course, I don't deserve any feedback 'cause it's a fault of the original owner.
He hasn't paid back the loan before the deadline.
You neither deserve any positive feedback (at least not yet).
And the negative from Danny Hamilton is only to counter the current 2 positive feedbacks from DT your account has.
You also don't deserve the position on DT3 your account currently still has.
I don't think negatives are suppose to be used to counter positive feedbacks.

A negative feedback means that you believe someone is a scammer, and I have not seen any evidence of this.

Ratings are used as counter since the last change to the system. They have been used in that fashion several times now. Danny also clearly states that the negative rating is just a counter and will be removed as soon as the positive ratings are gone. The account has no overal negative rating either.

I am drawing a blank as to when a negative rating was used to counter a positive rating....I know that positive ratings have been used to counter an unjustified negative, and the trust system was setup in a way to support this, but not the other way around.

potayto, potahto; ratings are used as counter. Does it matter which way around? The intention is the same, nullify the existing rating or at the very least make others aware of a trust dispute.
2931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core vs. Bitcoin Classic on: February 07, 2016, 07:26:57 PM
There is something I don't understand.

Bitcoin core is the name of the program used to validate transactions and mine coins no?
It means that if two programs like bitcoin core and bitcoin classic are launched, they're both creating coins and validating transactions no?

Doesn't it mean that each transaction is duplicated? And that we thus can spend each coin twice?

I probably misunderstood something though :/

if the majority of the nodes are not running classic, then clasic is simply an altcoin, that some miners are deciding to use

so no there is no double bitcoin ever

Ok. But what happens if majority of nodes run classic?
Will I just you know, lose my coins? If I don't expect the success of classic, bitcoin might just disappear and be replaced by... Bitcoin2?
And it may be an altcoin but it's an altcoin named bitcoin no? ^^

If the network splits you have coins on both networks. Depending on the split it might be possible that both networks survive in which case you would have the same amount of "classic btc" as you would have "core btc". This is only true if you actually hold the private keys. If you are using a service you will have whatever they decide you have.

Ok, thanks for your answers and your explanations.

I think I miss some technical/practical knowledge. I've the basics of "don't put money on online wallet" but I think I'm going to see how wallet like Electrum works. I've got absolutely no idea of what are the private keys ^^
Thanks again.

It might be a bit difficult for you in case of a split if you use electrum, because with electrum the question is which version the server you connect to runs. If you connect to a server runing core you have "core btc" if you connect to a server running classic you have "classic btc". Once you start moving the coins of each network around the balances for the same keys and wallet will be different for each network. You are however on the safe side even if no server has the version for the network you want as you can just export the private keys.

Goto the addresses tab, rightclick on an address and select "private key". It will ask for your password and show you the private key for that particular address. You could use that private key and import it into a wallet for your wanted network and you could use the coins. Be careful and dont show anyone the private key as it alone is enough to spend the coins on that address.

2934  Other / Meta / Re: Public Agreement for this account to be virtually deleted on: February 07, 2016, 06:56:04 PM
Sorry for your loss, but while account trades are tolerated here, they are strongly discouraged, in part because we do not enforce/broker account sales. In most cases, the original owner of the account is the legitimate owner forever as far as forum administration is concerned. (Though if we happen to come across some pretty clear evidence that an account is sold by its owner, we're not going to intentionally help the original owner scam the account back. But neither are we going to put much effort into preventing this.)

I restored Jude Austin to its original owner. I don't see any evidence for or against the original owner scamming the buyer out of 0.6 BTC. It's possible, but on the other hand the password hashes are known to have been leaked, so if Jude Austin's password was weak, it is possible for it to have been cracked.

Didnt expect that! Well, rating removed.

-snip-
Wait.. Sorry I'm not exactly the best with this lol but thanks for trying to explain it
Maybe I could ask the question in another way

Let's say I have 1 Bitcoin.
I then send 0.1 Bitcoin to 1swag
1swag returns 0.2 Bitcoin to me and then does something (double spends?) that doesn't allow it to confirm
I send the 1.1 BTC I have to 1Lol
The 1Lol and the transaction I received are both unconfirmed, but the one I sent confirmed.
What happens to the unconfirmed BTC?

Code:
you swag else
1 0.1 0
--- you send .1 to swag (tx1)
0.9(u) 0.1 0
0.1(u)
--- swag send 0.2 to you (tx2)
0.9(u) 0 0
0.2(u)
--- you send 1.1 to someone else (tx3)
0 0 1.1(u)
0
--- swag also sends 0.2 to alice (tx4)
you swag else alice
0 0 1.1(u,c) 0.2(u,c)

tx2 can only confirm if tx1 is confirmed and tx3 can only confirm if tx1 and tx2 are confirmed.

tx4 can only confirm if tx1 is confirmed.

If tx4 confirms, tx2 and tx3 are invalid, they never happened (you still have 0.9 btc).

If tx3 confirms, tx4 is invalid.

It would not have been hacked if the original owner took more care for his "beloved" account. That is something I could not have prevented.

Yes, but they are not the only person that made a mistake here. We already established that. You both fucked up, blaming each other will do nothing.
2937  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Double slending? on: February 07, 2016, 12:45:33 PM
Let's say you have 0.025 BTC.
You give it to someone, and they send you 0.026 BTC.
They double spend it, and you have around 0.5 left in your wallet.
If you send the 0.5 while the other transaction is unconfirmed, what happens to the 0.5?
Just something I've always wondered about

I doubt the 0.5 would even be a valid transaction, because it requires conflicting inputs. In any way, as soon as once of the competing TX confirms the 0.5 TX is invalid because one of its inputs became invalid.

So would you eventually get the 0.5 BTC back and lose the 0.026?
Or would you end up with nothing left in your wallet.
Thanks.

I probably misunderstood where the 0.5 btc came from on my first answer, let me try again.

It depends. Lets say you have a single input of 0.75 BTC and alice has a single input of 0.26

Code:
you	alice
0.75 0.26

You send 0.25 to alice (the (u) marks unconfirmed coins)

Code:
you	alice
0.5(u) 0.26
0.25(u)

Alice now sends you 0.26.

Code:
you	alice
0.26(u) 0.25(u)
0.5(u)

and the same input to bob (the (c) marks conflicting transactions)

Code:
you alice bob
0.26(u,c) 0.25(u) 0.26(u,c)
0.5(u)

Now, if the first TX confirms, we have this.

Code:
you alice bob
0.26(u,c) 0.25 0.26(u,c)
0.5

If the double spend to bob confirms, your 0.26 from alice are invalid and will disappear (or still show as conflicted/pending depending on your wallet).

Code:
you alice bob
0.5 0.25 0.26

If the TX from alice to you confirms, bobs 0.26 from alice are invalid and will disappear.

Code:
you alice bob
0.26 0.25 -
0.5

So the 0.5 change is unaffected by alice's double spend. This is also true if the 0.5 was a different input and not created by the TX sending 0.25 to alice.

Moin Leute,

Thats not the point. The point is that its very likely that neither of you will get the cake and eat it as well. Meet in the middle or somewhere else you two can agree on.
I'm already going way beyond halfway for him...why?

I purchased this account when it was hero....the account value with +10 +2 trust (which is what I worked it up to from +10 +1) makes the account worth 2+BTC with the post quality, trust, posts, etc.

For one you cant have increased the rating by 10 in two weeks, thats not how the trust system works and the only positive rating from someone off DT 2 is by wardrick.

If I decided to resell the account I could have made a LOT more than I bought it for. The whole community knows this.

You cant resell it though.

As well as this, I spent 0.2BTC and then got access to the account....sent the remaining 0.4BTC and then poof, he was gone.

I would have used an escrow, though escrows here mark accounts when they are sold. Which in itself is a huge issue.

Never heard of a less convincing reason to not use escrow.
