I'm seeing some impressive decisions so far here, I'm still quite a few drafts away from my final team, but I'm considering taking a calculated early risk if it goes my way then good, if not I just might have to use one of my chips very early and especially with some prospective transfer looking to be completed. I'll be having just one or two premium players, Salah is locked, still can't decide between Haaland and Kane, if Haaland is assured and fit, I'll be going with him, but if not I'll have to stick with Kane because he's going to play every minutes so far he's fit.

Can you guys believe I'm likely to miss watching the first 2 games at least?  Shocked

Unless I find some dude with something for me to watch ha!

By that I suppose you mean some streaming service ? If that's the case when I'm on mobile or on some journey, https://score808.com have always been my goto platform, they down for some months, but are back now. They cover almost every football match possible even that of lower tier leagues. The only down part might be it's not of the best quality, probably some between 320-480p I'd say, but almost perfect in case of a fluctuating internet services.

It asks you for username when you verify your email. At least that was the case for me. When I clicked on the link in email I was redirected to kicktipp page where there was empty box to fill my username before clicking register one more time.

A bit strange for our superbru regulars, but it is what it is.

I see this pool has maybe highest number of local participants so I hope we will be getting some nice tips during the season to take some money away from the bookies. If you guys have that sort of the content in your German pool, let me know and I'll try to make my way with google translate. That is one aspect of the pools that I feel is very underutilized. We should all do our best to take some money from the bookies Smiley

Thanks, I eventually figured it out.

I didn't know I'll only have to choose a Username when I'm trying to joining the pool itself as I didn't see the link to pool at first, I thought all that would have been a pre-entered upon the initial signup for the website.

I like the fact the site very light and highly responsive compared to Superbru, just still going to take a minute to get used to as native suprebru user.

Let's get rolling  Grin

oi oi! this thread was in the 3rd page, Wtf?  Grin

I really don't know why but my interest have been on a consistent decline, I'm literally short of updates on the league at large, almost every other team seem non-existing to me to say the least, I don't know who signed who or sold who, other than Barcelona transfer details, and the Tchouameni deal with Real Madrid, that's as far as I can tell on La Liga prior to coming season.

This year we will not have free bet challenge.

I guess the Yellow cap makes up for that right ? There was no reward for yellow caps last season...

We'll probably just need to keep tabs on CasperBGD this season, I don't think I won a single yellow cap for entirety of last season, hopefully I won't be as shitty as I was then.
2926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 01, 2022, 09:04:04 PM
An offer from Chelsea in my opinion is much more attractive for De Jong than from United - he will be able to play in the Champions League, this is a very serious plus.

Any other offer from the another top club is pretty much more appealing compared to Manchester United offered. For some reason, De Jong doesnt want to move with no clear reasoning on that although Barcelona has explicitly shown their interest on selling him even after stating that he needs to take a pay cut for him to stay at the club.

Other than probably not being competitive enough as club for him, I think Man United might serve De Jong's best interest as a player with Ten Haag in charge, and Man United are pretty much the only club with serious intention to sign him, afaik the only problem so far is De Jong's not being able to reach a final on personal terms with Man United, I'm not so buying into the payment owed over 2020 Covid wages deferment, I'm not claiming he might not be owed by Barcelona but I'm just being rather objective that since Barcelona need to sell him to register new players and looking at the amount being used so far to sign these new players I'd assume it's only reasonable/logical that Barcelona should be willing to pay him what's he's being owed in as much they can guarantee a sale would be finalized.

2929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: August 01, 2022, 02:53:24 AM
The French super cup is due today between PSG and Nantes,  PSG are by all means the heavy favorite, valued at @ ~1.35 odds, but I've got better offer from Duelbits that I feel like considering, they're offering Lionel Messi to score at anytime for not the normal 1.90 Odds, 3.0 Odds, I think that's some huge valuable bet, I'll however wait very close to the game time before making my decision.
You bet early maybe one day before match begin and still given higher odds 1.90, I think will be different right now if you open several sportsbook. I did check on Stake just give @1.32 odds for PSG and you were very lucky because got @1.90, no doubt I think PSG easy win against with Nantes although have bad head to head last season where Nantes success defeated PSG. But have changed situation right now for PSG with new manager and will bring new tactical playing games than Pochettion, actually will looks stronger PSG for next season than Pochettino era although still not have change with player composition.
Odds @1.90 is for Lionel Messi to score but not for PSG win and since yesterday the odds for them hasn't change at range @1.3 and this quite low although some people said this is safe bet because PSG is going to win the match and this is could be first trophy under Galtier if PSG win but if you want looking for the higher odds i think you can make head to head statistics between both of teams as the reference and the records showed since 2020 final score everytime they met always have 3 goals margin or more so over 2.5 goals seems good too

It would have been an easy bet for me in the end, because Messi PSG's first goal early in their triumph against Nantes, I had no doubts they were going to win the game pretty much convincingly, even without Mbappe in they looked really compact and Sergio Ramos still has it in him and could he be the missing part of what PSG needs to conquer Europe ?? It's probably not enough to have one of the most deadliest attacking lines in Europe, but Sergio Ramos brings a whole new level of energy to the team defensively and he'd rather die on the pitch than give up on a tie, like what happened to PSG last season.
2930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betnomi's Premier League Fantasy Pool ⚽ Discussion (Prize 0.06 BTC) on: August 01, 2022, 12:56:11 AM
Only 8 entries with less than a week to go? Shocked   This is far below my most pessimistic expectations for this fantasy pool, given that we have three active Premier League topics with hundreds of posts weekly, but only eight guys have decided to put their money where their mouth is, with the majority waiting on freebies and shit.

If i had known we'd have this many entries, i would have proposed giving this pool a holler on Twitter earlier. There's a huge FPL community there, and maybe we could have persuaded some to register here and play....idk. Literally, nobody knows what SuperBru is, the global Prem League pool has just over 42k entries, while FPL is nearing 5mil teams at the moment....and besides fantasy leagues are just so much more fun imo.

Anyways, with the pre-season over i think i'm almost set on my team and formation but i'll wait for press conferences on Thursday and Friday before the deadline, to see if i can get some more info.

With quite an amount being dropped for the pool already, I expected more people, it only shows how many people are interested in this sport, perhaps it's gambling they're somewhat against ?  The premier league prediction pool itself which less tricky and not  too time consuming is still a bit short of 50 users, but once the league start you can check how many unique users will have opinion about every single game, lol.

I've only used FPL original platform twice before or so, but I'm using this as an extra motivation to at least play until the end, I've actually never understood most of the chips, at least until this time around, I just use them whenever I remember to, I know FPL is rather more popular at least due it being the official one, but vast majority of the pools aren't paid ones (at least most that I've seen over the years), rather sponsored, but the turn ups are always indeed massive.

Hopefully, we'll get 2 more users to make it 10 right ?

I found it very difficult to choose my midfielders and attackers, but I will try as soon as possible to choose a group before the start of the season. Not much time left. I guess I wouldn't bother with allocating a huge budget to Salah. I'll look for another player. Any hint?

If you're not going for Salah, you wouldn't want to waste the Liverpool players allocation, you know they'll be title contenders so it would only make sense to get all 3 players you can from Liverpool, I'd fancy Luis Diaz, Mane's gone so he should definitely secure the spot on the left wing for Liverpool, and he's 5m cheaper than Salah that'd give you some budgets to work with.
2932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betnomi's Premier League Fantasy Pool ⚽ Discussion (Prize 0.06 BTC) on: July 31, 2022, 06:13:15 PM
is there a team without him?
Salah, of course, would be a diamond in my team, but to be honest, I’m thinking about spending free money on strengthening midfielders.

I don’t want to pay 13% of the entire budget for Salah.  Cry
I believe that is wrong way to look at it, it is all about points in the end and there is about 65% Salah ownership. Vast majority of those who have Salah will captain him in the first few feeks. That means if you go without him you risk falling behind and that is not easy to overcome in fantasy.

You have to have some other premium to captain then, do you trust Kane, Haaland, Son or De Bruyne more than Salah? That is all that matters.

Only position I have problem with this season is 3rd striker, I would prefer 4.5M one but they are all extremely bad and will not get any minutes. In the end I will just settle on one with low ownership. Don't want to loose money on bench filler position when people start to sell them.

I'd probably (currently do) have Salah in, but not having Salah early on might not be overly costly, it will depend on other premium member he'd rather have and its effect on his entire team plan/budget, because once you have Salah, you're likely not going to sub him out all season long regardless of his performance unless he gets injured or you need another premium member who have better sets of next couple of fixtures.

My major problem is from the midfield department, some relatively average midfielder seem rather too costly but I'd like to have one or two of them, since I've decided to do away with KDB.

Finally, the UCL Pool would be getting the attention it duly deserves, the last 2-3 seasons have been a complete mess, especially due to nature of the game and lack of interest, having over a month of time to join should give us around 50 users innit ?

Needless to say, you know I'm definitely going to be playing!
2934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: July 31, 2022, 03:36:17 PM
We have 47 people paid for the pool. Only a week to go so lets try to get it at least to 50 and we can add extra places as consolation prizes.

I can already see we will have another bad season with regards to VAR. I can give them long time to react with City goal, it was difficult situation to judge and draw lines but why the hell they needed so much time for Liverpool penalty? It is as clear as it gets and then after quite long time they call main ref to check it by himself. If VAR ref can't call this one, then VAR room does not need ref, just technician to draw the lines.

I don't think it's ref or technical rooms fault in that very occasion, If you ask me, but the first problem was both team players being an utter distraction for the referee, in most cases of handballs or foul in the 12 yard box, the VAR crew probably always have a verdict of their own imo, but the players just need to allow the referee breathing space, it took the referee way less to come to a conclusion after checking the replay, probably around 5 secs or thereabout from him looking at the screen, when it comes to goals being ruled or not for offside that's the VAR team decision to make, but for handballs,  fouls, and red card worthy offences the referee is sole decision maker, VAR crew are just meant to call is attention to it if he didn't make the call at first glance imo, but the team players all ranting at once wouldn't even allow the referee communicate properly with the VAR team. If you look at Matip's low header that looks like it touched his hands some moments before Man City equalised, the VAR probably looked at it and since there probably no contact to his hands, the referee had no reason to come into play, the scenario didn't get replayed all through the end of the game, so It made me pretty sure there was probably nothing to be looked at in that case. More so, the players are always the ones begging the referees to take a look for themselves.

It's getting silly. It's a coin toss as to what is handball these days. It's also really annoying how they delay the kick off after almost every single goal whilst VAR checks every possible parameter they can to possibly disallow it. They need to scrap the ref going over to have a look at the little screen as well. Why do you need him to go over and decide when you've already got several officials watching the game on several big screens? Just let them decide. If they think something is wrong then it's likely the ref will as well.

This I completely agree with, they need to maintain a standard and just go by the book/rules, it the decision is out of the ref's hands then players would not be so all over the ref after every whistle, they should take these decision away from the referee, except the ones he had to call himself from the very first instance, it is going to be very faster if they just communicate the decision to the referee, they made the rules guiding the play but still act as though it's rocket science to follow the rules. You can hardly see any game with less than 4 minutes of added time these days because of the need to review every goal even when it's clear as day from the first glance and no protest whatsoever for the opposing team.
2935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betnomi's Premier League Fantasy Pool ⚽ Discussion (Prize 0.06 BTC) on: July 31, 2022, 02:41:59 PM
I don’t know about you guys, but I slowly began to form a team (so far I have decided only on the defenders).

Quote

I spent a couple of hours on it earlier today, and I thought pick a team would pretty much easy for but it was far from it, I guess that's got to do with playing for something, I really couldn't come to a clear decision about both my choice of formation to start with a couple of other players, I'm glad I didn't wait for the final minute before trying to put a team together, it would have been a nightmare to say the least.

GL all, I know only 2 guys I'm having in my team, the rest I'm going to try and be real smart about.

Same here with, at least for now.

Between selling 25% of their tv rights for the next 25 years, and selling their merchandise company BLM's half, and getting a spotify stadium naming rights, they made close to a billion dollars if you include the loan they got.

Definitely this means that they are dead out of water if they do not find a way to make extra money, but between 600 million loan over 10 years, a tv rights deal that only see them parting with 25% of it, and sponsorship, they are actually doing fine. This allowed them to spend this much, and they also did it all at once because they needed new players and since the past few years have been hard, they couldn't get the players they wanted.

I agree that at least this time around Barcelona actually went and are going for the players they actually want or need, the last few seasons, it has always all been about saving face with one big transfer or the other, from Dembele to Coutinho.

Getting these players is just the first phase of their battle, the major problem might be being able to register them and time isn't on their side, they've got to rid a loads of players to afford them register the new ones, and that might be the major task yet that Barcelona would face despite seemingly being a grand winner in the current transfer window, I hope it all don't just amount for nothing at the end of the day.

So after the first half Bayern lead 3-0 and I think the game is already done.

https://i.ibb.co/ypJwKST/bets25.png

Grin I wonder if anyone would cash out in such a situation? I know that anything can happen in football, but I am ready to see a miracle in one of 100 matches (while losing my bet), but I don’t see any point in depriving myself of part of the win in the remaining 99 cases.
ah good to see i wasn't the only who saw some value in Bayern Munich @1.9,

Bayern at those odds vs. a bundesliga side is literally free money  Smiley  i always locked the moneyline whenever they play against Leipzig or Dortmund, people love to underestimate Bayern

and if i were you i wouldn't cash out, you'd be doing the bookie a favor, if you think there could be a comeback that can ruin your bet then go low on Leipzig draw @20, but imo the game is over

I literally would have considered the game a done one with Bayern Munich being 3 goals up at halftime, but the match almost went down the wire even after Bayern Munich made it a 4-1 lead, Leipzig scored 2 goals to make it 4-3, with the 3rd goal coming in the 89th minute.

There would have been some for of tension watching the game live and initial thoughts of cashing out, but at the end of the Bayern were able to tidy things up, it still ended up being a free money from the bookies at such odd.

1. Btw @buwaytress, you seem keen on Tottenham having a great season or at least a better one than Chelsea so, I'll take your side bet of Tottenham not finishing above Chelsea in the league, for a risk of If I lose I'll pay 3 mBTC while if you lose, you pay 2 mBTC

Done! That's how it's done, simple and straightforward, and if Spurs let me down, I definitely deserve it. I'd take your second one as well in another lifetime, but I don't like losing too much money to the same person in one sitting. You'll remind me if I lose, I hope? Wink

Trofo happy with the goal? TAA seems to have been given it even though I wasn't sure it'd have gone in if it didn't get that nice big Ake (?) deflection.

I'll probably just leave you feedback as a little reminder for the bet, because the post will get buried quickly once the new season gets underway.

I missed the first half but the 2nd half have been fairly even, with Nunez having had the best chance of game im the 2nd half so far but, got the better off by Ederson.

Edit: Alvarez gets us level and uncharacteristic spill from Adrian, I'd say he's made a couple of questionable saves, that perhaps Alisson wouldn't have.
