Nutcoin users have class and dignity. This isn't a meme.
I started a new topic on Nutcoin to make it more well known. Funny you mention the classy part, because the first thing somebody mentioned was the connection to male body parts. Join the discussion to get the coin more noticed and keep it on the first page of new discussions! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=512248.msg5671496#msg5671496

Wow, Oakpool down and can't log in. What a huge surprise. First was mining-road, the "Official Launch Pool" and now Oakpool, a "Preferred Pool". Anyone else seeing a bit of a pattern forming? I still have coins at both pools that I can't get.
You should have received an email, but long story short -- we got hit hard with the GPU coin launch that effected all of our pools. While all that was happening, we've been having a very crazy week with our full-time jobs (launching a new iPad app, finishing a motion graphic video, starting 2 new websites, and wrapping up 2 other websites). Not looking for sympathy, just being candid and transparent. Mining-Road had legitimate issues and just went MIA overnight -- so I understand your frustration -- but we are in no way affiliated with the Duck Coin Team. As explained above, they had nothing to do with our pool going down. Your coins are safe and we expect to be back up hopefully tomorrow. And when we are, I'll personally come back and PM you on here since you perhaps are not getting our emails. <3 OakPools Nice you guys are so transparent! You seem to be dedicated to the coin. Any connection to the devs?

You should never leave coins on any pool, no matter how much you trust or believe in the pool. Leaving coins on a pool is exposing yourself to unnecessary risk. The pattern you are seeing with pools going down has nothing to do with any kind of conspiracy or ill intentions, it is simply a lack of motivation for pool operators to pay enough attention and devote enough time to keeping their pools running properly. Pools require some degree of maintenance and upkeep, and when there isn't much profit motive to do it then people stop doing it and pools go down. DuckPond.io is committed to DUCK, we believe that in a couple months each DUCK will approach $1,000,000. We are in this to win and we are not bailing out when DUCK has only actualized 0.5% of its potential. Come join our pool, we won't let you down. There may be bumps along the way, sure, but we will stay the course. Title says.
It would be better it is presented as
1. POS : Pos is .... 2. POW: Pow is ... 3. What makes the difference is?
Thankyou.
1. POS : Pos is Proof of Stake. This is a reward for having your wallet synched with the network. This prevents it from 51% attacks (majority holder tries to bend the rules to change transactions). This is like interest from the bank and coins like MINT and Blackcoin use it. 2. POW: Pow is Proof of Work. This is the reward for mining coins (creating new coins with hashing power). This is the way Bitcoins are created. The hashing power is used to enable transactions between users in a decentralized way. 3. The difference? See 1 and 2

How's the fix for the fork coming along?
The dev seems to be away so Im working on compiling a Win QT and gonna test sending funds from Mine Big to my personal wallet Comms guy from Frycoin, here. It seems the blockchain is working again and we hope compiling the wallet will fix it. We want to have a new version available soon! http://fry.coinminings.com/ seems to be running and the blockexplorer is reporting payouts!

LOL. Free exposure! The fake +3800%... it must be a sign! $0.14 would put us around 23,000 satoshi. I wish it were that price today, haha. I have a fake fortune

"No block source available". is this coin dead? can someone sync the wallet?
I think the network is slow due to low hashrate. The pools seem to still be getting blocks. It seems most hashing is from one miner at phi.poolto.be is the hasrate the only factor that can change that? Not sure

For whatever reason, I still can't shake being tempted to purchase a gold plan right now. I don't want to purchase on the exchange and their price may be fair considering the overhead of electricity and cooling etc... Even if I lose money, the only way I'd end up disappointed is if BTC does not endure as a primary cryptocurrency. Does anyone have an opinion on the odds of this? Is there anything right with my thinking? I just like being in.
I had the same curiosity and did it with money I could miss (1 BTC). If you can miss the money, why not? I switched my silver 20GH/s program to a 100% reinvestment. I just want to see what happens and see the money as lost already. Untill now, it has been enjoyable. I get extra mining power every two weeks and if it is actually profitable, I will benefit from it lateron
