2921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 23, 2022, 11:47:44 AM
West ham team was one of the teams that disapointed their fans considering how they started the season they were in a good position until the last rounds even though they ended up in the seventh position its not good enough they should've been higher than man united in my opinion.
Manchester United lost the last match which West Ham supposed to have used as an advantage to take the sixth position and qualify for Champions League, but it lost to Brighton, it was surprising me it made it difficult and not possible for Manchester City to win but lost to Brighton. But it is still good that it qualifies for conference league though.

We watched a great competition for the league title and Manchester City made it at the end. It was a really epic finale for them undoubtedly. Although they played the game as 2-0 behind for a while, they still did some magic in the last moments and made the comeback they wanted finally.
It was becoming a surprising match for me when Aston Villa was winning with two goals in about 69 minutes of the match, I thought it has ended for Manchester City and thought my opinion wanted to become wrong. But it was a good come back for Manchester City, the club deserves to be the winner of this competitive season.
2922  Economy / Economics / Re: World has just ten weeks' worth of wheat left after Ukraine war on: May 23, 2022, 07:43:18 AM
I have not consumed wheat for some months now, although it is sold in my country. If I can do without wheat and many people that I know can do without wheat when there are alternatives, then the countries that lacks wheat import can do without wheat.

What I just see is that wheat will still be available but its supply will reduce which would make its price to increase. What I am mostly concerned about is for this not to result in other food price increase but which is very likely.

We hope the war in Ukraine stops as soon as possible so that everything will become back to normal.
2923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! on: May 21, 2022, 07:19:00 AM
I believe President Bukele never claimed their summit among South American central bankers to be all, and just about Bitcoin. Bitcoin is merely part of it. Read the Twitter post, it said "talks about financial inclusion, banking the unbanked, AND Bitcoin". It's not a "Bitcoin conference", but Bitcoin is obviously one the main topics to be discussed.
That is true, it is not only about bitcoin, it is about financial inclusion, digital economy, banking the unbanked the bitcoin rollout and its benefits in their country. But according to what was posted above, some central banks do not know that bitcoin was even part of summit, while some do not care, while some like it and saw it amazing. All I know is that bitcoin can not be accepted by all central banks in just one day, and if some do not accept it, that does not mean bitcoin adoption will not continue. What surprised me most is that China that its mining operation and hashrate went to zero during last Chinese government crackdown on cryptocurrencies are producing the second largest hashrate now if the news I read it from is saying the truth though.

Following El Salvador there were few countries on the path of bitcoin adoption. One amongst is Panama where everything is done and waiting for the president's approval. The president have taken a stand that bitcoin adoption happens along with AML policy tied to it. Maybe this can take few months for the development. Little by little something happens positive and Countries will stand out for adoption.
That is true, it remains Laurentino Cortizo which is the present Panamanian president to sign the bill, Panamanian legislature has passed it to the president to sign. The president support some aspect of the bill but saying illicit use of cryptocurrencies should be addressed. I thought the legislature should have done that. Only little time remains, Panama president would most likely soon sign the crypto bill into law.

People should wait before making out some conclusions on what El Salvador had done which it isnt right on making out direct assumptions on a short span of time. They are fully aware on what things
attached with Bitcoin specially into its volatility.

You can read this:

Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender!

Also in the research, 71% of bitcoin sales are mostly converted to dollar, 17% stored as dollar on Chivo wallet while 10% stored as bitcoin.

Citizens are not also force to accept bitcoin for payment while many of them accepts it and convert it to USD.

If you are looking with the current condition  then lots would really be saying that the decision made was wrong because it do really mainly affecting
their economic status specially on a bear market but we know on how recovery works or possibility.
Probably you haven't been posting here or reading what people have been posting here as you just brought back what as been talked about here, you can try and go back some pages like on the beginning to read than bring up what ha been posted here before. I can not go back much but will just tell you that before El Salvador adopted bitcoin as a legal tender in their country, El Salvador has been in foreign dept and fiat was never also still the savior for them.
2924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 21, 2022, 06:41:16 AM
Especially after Real Madrid started the game with crucial starting eleven players like Benzema and Vinicius Junior, I waited for seeing at least one goal by them. But this was a really boring finale to the season in the La Liga. Betis didn't have much to do against them too.
I was not expecting any team among both to win, although I may be expecting goal or from Real Madrid and to win, but also I know the match may ended draw and even with no goal. To make it not long, I was expecting anything to happen. Real Madrid players can play, but I believe Ancelotti would have told the players that it is draw they wanted or they may win if their is any chance for win with ease, the players know that also because they would not want to lose on their victory day, but they can win or draw which was what that happened. The match that Real Madrid is mostly preparing for with all their energy now is Champions League final.

Real Madrid players play very carefully, they don't seem insistent and have more motivation to win games even though they are playing at home and in front of their own fans. this draw is very bad for them.
but apart from that we have to appreciate Real Betis' excellent performance, they were able to match Real Madrid and make the match fierce.
You appreciate Real Betis or not does not matters, Real Betis remain in the position it is after the draw, if to be appreciated, it should have won the match. Real Madrid players needed to be careful because they have an important match ahead of them, if they play yesterday with all their strength, waste much of their energies and have injuries, it would be foolish of them. What I saw that Real Madrid did and how they played is very wise of them because Real Madrid had won the league (La Liga) already.
2925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 21, 2022, 06:25:33 AM
Fiorentina vs Juventus match might be interesting. Juve experienced a slight decline in performance in several matches. although tough for Fiorentina, they have a strong motivation to win. because of the struggle for European competition tickets, they will only get when they get a win.
Never mind I take it to Spain but this is Italy, you can see Real Madrid and Real Bestie match yesterday, it was draw mostly because Real Madrid does not need to win the match. Juventus playing with Fiorentina today is not a match Juventus needs because Juventus has secure itself for Champions League in next season. Although, no one knows who would win, but it should not be a match that can easily be predicted, Florentina really needs this match for not to be replaced by Atalanta for Europa Conference League.

Atalanta is indeed superior when it comes to facing Empoli. but this could be a bad situation if Empoli let his guard down. Atalanta must learn from Napoli's mistakes against Empoli. Napoli lost 3-2 to Empoli.
The match for the European zone ticket is always interesting.
I see Atalanta to be superior too and I am expecting Atlanta not to find it difficult to win Empoli or if found it difficult, it should try all possible means to win as it really needs to win this match.
2926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: future of terra luna after fork on: May 20, 2022, 12:21:34 PM
everyone already knows about the approved fork luna v2 proposal. and 27 may, the new network can be used. the question, regardless of speculation about airdrops and compensation for old holders. does $luna v2 have a future? will concerns about crashes not affect the $luna v2 ecosystem later?

and what do you think about this solution? is this an attempt to solve the problem or as a way for the developer to evade responsibility?
It is altcoin, it is risky, there can be a good outcome it may remain just the same as luna. What I just think is that some people will buy Luna, wait for the airdrop, they will be given luna classic and sell. Nobody knows what will happen to luna classic, but I think luna has dropped very well, luna classic can be a profitable coin, but invest what you can afford to lose. I was shocked some people committed suicide because of luna drop, invest what you can be able to lose that will not affect you.

https://twitter.com/BitcoinMagazine/status/1527061821932421120

apparently, an excellent idea to adopt bitcoin now, especially in salvador, and to explain it to others.
Only seven countries mentioned by BitcoinMagazine but I like that Venezuela which is the last on the list is included among because it has the worst inflation rate in the world. But if you want to check the full list, you can use the site below.

https://tradingeconomics.com/country-list/inflation-rate?continent=world

On the site, you can check the inflation rate in each country in the world, you can check for countries in each continents and also for G20 countries.

A good reason to use bitcoin is the inflation of fiat in each countries, the governments are only centrally controlling their fiat to make inflation possible and citizens are holding fiat in bank in fixed deposit account and get devalued.
2928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 19, 2022, 07:49:35 AM
Yes, it's true that Sassoulo is not an easy team to beat, but I'm sure AC Milan will put all their effort into winning this match. Moreover, this match has a very important meaning to ensure the Scudetto title. Ac Milan only needs at least one point to win the Scudetto.
Sassoulo is not a weak club that will not be able to give top coin like AC Milan tough time even if AC Milan would win, though what I am expecting that day is for the match to begin and AC Milan to win the match, and win the league. I checked the club Inter Milan is playing with, playing with Sampdoria, Inter would most possibly win Sampdori. AC Milan would have speculated about this and will not want to miss a chance to win Sassoulo even as Sassoulo would give AC Milan a tough time.
2929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 19, 2022, 07:32:48 AM
You're right, and that's why I can't say Frankfurt are the best even though they won the title. Rangers and Frankfurt are both good and unfortunately we only have 1 title for the team to ensure victory. Luckily Frankfurt did not make many mistakes during 120 minutes, and they were able to convert the penalty into a goal. Rangers just had no luck.
When I saw how Rangers are playing and the extent they have gone, to win Europa is very possible. It was Rangers that first scored yesterday, but Rafael Borre made Frankfurt lucky as the match went further beyond 90 minutes as it was a draw. Penalty was played and Frankfurt won. I count penalty as a lucky match but the winner ( the club that wins) is in record which is what people will be saying, but Rangers truly tried.
2930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 19, 2022, 07:25:00 AM
In my personal opinion, Real Madrid will not field their core players against Real Betis, Carlo Ancelotti will definitely give their back-up players a chance, because Ancelotti will never take risks, because there are still very important matches waiting for them, they have to face Liferpol in the Champions League final, Real Madrid wanted to win against Real Betis, but they didn't want to take any risks, especially until their players got injured.
Real Madrid has wan the league already, Real Madrid do not need to win the last match, but I doubt even if Real Bestie would win the match. What Real Madrid should and is preparing for now is Champions League final as it will be meeting with Liverpool in Stade de France on 28th May. Real Madrid may want to win Real Bestie but it is just a match that is not necessary to win, but at least, I am not expecting Real Betis to win either. It is good that Real Madrid coach is not making use of his main players, resting them for bigger competition that is not far from now.
2931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no future as a payments network, says FTX chief on: May 18, 2022, 09:08:29 AM
The fact that you or me may send transactions mostly Saturdays with lowest tx fee is not the topic here.
Bitcoin transaction fee can be cheaper on Saturdays and Sundays if the mempool is congested. I send during weekdays and the fee is low. The last time I remember the fee to increase was when whales were moving their coins to exchanges to sell recently, that was when bitcoin price fell below $30000 recently. After that, the meepool is not congested again. The mempool congestion did not even surpass 20 to 30 sat/vbyte and it was not for long time.

I checked the mempool now and this is weekday, the fee is very low.

https://mempool.space/

1 sat/vbyte, $0.04 for transaction fee, that should be for 1 input and 2 outputs transaction.

The fact that in most days tx fees are far from big is not the topic here.
The fee is not big, memory pool congestion does not happen often.

The topic is, imho, that if we want to have half of the world pay in the supermarket with Bitcoin, on-chain, it's not possible, because the next block may come in a minute or in an hour and because if so many people would transact so much the fees would go over the roof.
It is possible, it depends on the approach used, setting a fee that can make confirmation fast and making the transaction not to be RBF.

Am excited that through El-Savador, many countries will have a new approach to bitcoin and it adoption, among the countries that will be in attendance, i want to specifically speak about Nigeria which has it government ban any cryptocurrency transactions through it financial authorities and now going to be in attendance in El-Savador sending delegates, not only that but the goodnews is that the government for the first time is giving serious consideration about Cryptocurrency Nigeria’s SEC Affirms All Digital Assets Are Securities in New Rulebook

2933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no future as a payments network, says FTX chief on: May 18, 2022, 08:01:20 AM
I read this news few days ago and it made me laughed, but what I am just disappointed at is that I did not believe someone that created one of the leading exchanges can say such trash and mislead people. Bitcoin fee is still cheap than thought and there is lightning network which has low fee and help mempool to maintain not being congested to some level.

If bitcoin withdrawal fee on FTX is huge, then another means to let people to think it is bitcoin fee that is costly, not knowing it is the exchange withdrawal fee.

I don't want to take his side, he may be only after profits and not a believer in bitcoin, but it doesn't matter here, he is not as wrong as some see it.
All I know is that he is absolutely wrong and one of the people that is misleading people about bitcoin transaction fee. Exchanges are the idiots that is making people to think bitcoin fee is high. When many exchanges are supporting lightning network now, FTX has not yet supoort it. I have begin to dislike this FTX exchange, we do not want criticism but to support lightning network and reduce bitcoin withdrawal fee.
2934  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason why I put all my money in Bitcoin as a newbie on: May 17, 2022, 11:30:22 PM
Yes, it's stupid to not own any fiat. Any investment can crash, especially Bitcoin, with which it happens regularly, so converting it to fiat might be forced to be at a loss. A strong fiat currency like USD and Euro is not going to lose its value overnight. Inflation is predictable.
What I just see is that it is ignorant of people that are leaving money in fiat because the government like to do one thing to fiat, to decrease its value. For spending, you are right, but I can not call it stupid, I will call it necessity because it is hard for some people to buy directly with bitcoin and they do not have option than to convert to fiat.

Risks should be managed in a way that a potential reward is higher than the downside. With altcoins there's only downsides. They have no future, no one uses them, no one will use them. In 10 years globally nothing changed with altcoins - they have no adoption.
I will agree to this, if I invest in altcoin and I am lucky and make profit, I will sell it for bitcoin, definitely.

personally, I am no longer sure that the euro and the dollar are more stable than Bitcoin. I'm even in a big dilemma whether it's better to keep savings in Bitcoin than in Fiat. the strength of the euro has been much lower than just two years ago. (all triggered by the Covid crisis, now deepened by the war)
To be sincere, bitcoin is a speculative asset, its price is volatile, but I understand your point, after long time, bitcoin price will have more value but fiat will have less value, which means you mean safe haven, not stable. For any fiat, what the amount of the fiat can buy today, it can no more buy it in 10 years more after, 10 years is even long, in 2 years especially in countries that have high inflation rate.

it would be very interesting to see some analysis of BTC vs FIAT in the last 2 or 3 years.
Next 2 or 3 years, I am expecting bitcoin to hit all-time-high above 100k.  Cheesy
2935  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason why I put all my money in Bitcoin as a newbie on: May 17, 2022, 10:53:24 PM
Putting literally all your money into Bitcoin is not a good idea, not in a sense that you should buy some alts, but in a sense that you should have other investments and free cash. Rule #1 is to never invest what you can't afford to lose, and no one can afford to lose all their money.
Free cash? You mean fiat, he can be able to convert some bitcoin to cash if he wants, I can easily convert bitcoin to cash if I want. Also he can easily convert bitcoin if he wants to invest in other assets like gold. I do not see anything bad to leave his asset in bitcoin but it will be good for him to know how the price of bitcoin can be volatile but leading to all-time-high again.

And as for alts, no one should be touching them, newbie or not. Fundamentally they have no value.
Some altcoins have value but just that we do not know the next that will follow luna, people should only risk what they can lose on altcoins, that is how I see altcoins.
2936  Economy / Economics / Re: A decision to make on: May 17, 2022, 04:37:56 PM
Would you rather buy a house to live in or rent an apartment to invest in bitcoin  Since bitcoin is experiencing bear what decision will you take make use of the season or let it pass.
Is a house an asset? Yes. Is it an asset that increase in value? Yes.
Is bitcoin an asset? Yes. Is it an asset that inceease in value? Yes.

Left to you to choose the one you wish.

If it is bear market already, I can decide to buy bitcoin and wait for the next bull market. I can decide to build house after instead of buying a house, but it depends on individual and environment.
2937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 17, 2022, 03:48:42 PM
I don't think winning the champion's league is the reason Mbappe is deciding to join Real Madrid, I strongly doubt that.
Real Madrid is the number one club when it comes to Champions League, no club like it, it is the Champion. I see no reason a football player wants to join Real Madrid than to be part of the team that win Champions League, we take it or leave it, it is part of his ambition and he is playing excellently.

I think in the next two years, PSG will be able to win the UEFA Champion's League and Mbappe is pretty very young so his motivation could be playing for a bigger club in Europe with rich history and heritage.
It is very possible Mbappe join Real Madrid not long after the end of Champions League final.

Let us hope so, but PSG has been so unlucky about Champions League, with their squared this season, it did not go as far as I thought it could go, but it was defeated by Real Madrid which will play this season final with Liverpool, so I think it is worth it.
2938  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My first novice view towards Bitcoin on: May 17, 2022, 09:43:11 AM
Bitcoin of 75 $ reduce greatly to 47$ I was so scared I knew not that it can reduce too...so I immediately withdrawed everything having a loss ..and since then I am conscious with anything Bitcoin..
If you want to buy bitcoin as of this time, just know that you want to hold, holding it for two, three or more years will bring you profit, but not that you should panic and sell because the price decrease, that is the mistake you did, you buy during bull and sell during bear. All I can advice you for now is to use that money to buy bitcoin again when the price is still low and wait for 2 or more years before you sell but you may see profit before that time. You will see that people that told you that your money will increase are not lying by that time. But know that what can make your money increase can also make your money decrease, even in business, your money can increase or decrease. If investing in bitcoin, the profit is more after long time while short time investment prediction may not be accurate. It is good to buy during bear and sell during bull.
2939  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A question bordering me and need opinions as a newbie on: May 17, 2022, 09:33:13 AM
The invention of the crypto currency backed by blockchain have bring about many questions and debate If bitcoin is a currency or an asset or just a virtual currency that can be used as a payment system it is very difficult to decide which or contain both features
You have a friend, both of you know about bitcoin and you are both using it. You can send bitcoin to your friend and your friend can send you bitcoin. You can send bitcoin to anyone that accept it as payment. You can make bitcoin to buy items on some online stores that support it. Bitcoin is a legal tender in El Salvador, Centralized Africa Republic and an island in Honduras. Russia is considering to make bitcoin legal and regulated. Definitely, bitcoin is a virtual means of payment.

The value of bitcoin will increase decrease and increase again and hit all-time-high. It has a finite supply of only 21 million coins, it is compared with fiat that are inflationary. Then, let me ask, is bitcoin an asset? Yes bitcoin is an asset. Which I think is the question you asked.

If you look at what pooya87 post, even fiat are assets, but they are assets that devalue, unlike bitcoin which is an asset that its value increase and decrease but later have a net increase which makes it an asset that increase in value.
2940  Economy / Economics / Re: Is TERRA/Luna kickstarting a new Bitcoin Standard? on: May 17, 2022, 09:22:46 AM
Did these morons actually sell their BTC for their stable coin which was going down in flames and still not manages to keep it afloat?
Why didn't they let it go all the way down and then buy it back when there was no more printing involved?
Yes, they buy more UST, one of the major problem of Terra Foundation Guard is because of their stable coin which is algorithmic stables coins which was not stable but unstable coin, it is not new that algorithmic stables coin are problem and that people do sell more in bear market and lead to it to be an unstable coin, they still created it and what was expected happened, I do not know what they call the problem but it would have been better for them to have just gone just for Luna or not have gone for algorithmic stables coin or they should not have made it algorithmic. After creating the shit stable coin, it brought up problem and they are just trying the take a pig from a dirty place to a clean place, but a pig is a pig.

Sir I just posted it here to get advice from experienced guys that whether it's good to invest in LUNA at the moment or not? Previously we have seen many coins coming back to original prices after falling to ground. Still efforts are there to revive LUNA.
People that invested on the coin at $1 are now regretting it, some people can invest and make profit from it, but know that it is extremely risky to invest in coins like Luna.
