2921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where have you saved your bitcoin keys? on: April 24, 2022, 08:56:07 AM
Personally, I dont use paper, paper can get wet, can be eaten by insects and can catch fire,
the ink can even fade.

I use a stainless Steel plate similar to this > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5323755.0 which is secured very remotely.

Well, that is why you should laminate the paper wallets and you should store them in a dark place...away from direct sunlight. Not all people have access to the technology to engrave a Private key on Stainless Steel.  Roll Eyes

It is simple to print several copies of your Private key or Seed phases onto a piece of paper and then to get it laminated. I have books that are over 100 years and it is still in a very good condition and it is not even laminated. The secret is simply in how you are storing it....  Wink
2922  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you prefer lots of promotions over better RTP? on: April 23, 2022, 06:16:34 PM
So, from what I have read in most of the posts.... most people want a balanced mix between a good RTP and also some promotions. The VIPs want Rakeback and promotions that are geared to wagering volume and the casual gambler just want to prolong their gambling experience ...so they will prefer a better RTP.  Wink

The marketing teams of some of the bigger casinos out there have a huge challenge to balance RTP vs Promotions, because they have to retain current users and they have to draw new gamblers to the site.  Roll Eyes
2923  Economy / Gambling / Re: The most rewarding referral system on: April 23, 2022, 04:06:38 PM
The 3 that I enjoy the most is Stake.com and Bitcasino.io and also Freebitco.in ..... but the problem with them is that all of them have aggressive advertising and signature campaigns and the chance that you might bag a gambling whale will be very small.

I will rather go for the new casinos ..because not a lot of people know about them, so you have a bigger chance to get some good referral income. Just make sure it is not a scam site, because that will ruin your reputation.  Roll Eyes
2924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any unexpected incidents - Bitcoin on: April 23, 2022, 03:55:26 PM
Nah, I just think they added it to be trendy.... because Bitcoin and Crypto currencies are trending and also Blockchain technology. If you just mention that you have "Blockchain" technology in the IT Industry.... then people think your company are cool.  Roll Eyes

So adding this to the calendar just shows that it's a cool vibe and rich people playing with Crypto currencies and extravagant holidays. (You see a lot of hype in the media with Rags to Riches stories in the Crypto space..... and over-night Millionaires)   Roll Eyes
2925  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold and precious metals should scale to buy coffee on: April 23, 2022, 11:12:26 AM
Are you listening to yourself? You saying it should be weighed at the time of minting and that should be the price forever? That cannot happen with a precious metal with limited supply.  Roll Eyes  The price of 1 ounce Gold does not stay the same after it was minted or melted and placed in a mold.

Here is a 100 year historical price chart for Gold ===> https://www.macrotrends.net/1333/historical-gold-prices-100-year-chart .....so you can see the price fluctuations and Why it will not work to have a fixed price.  Roll Eyes
2926  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — NEW GAMES FOR YOU! 🚀 on: April 22, 2022, 09:33:55 AM
Hey everyone,

>>Image removed

With the weekend just around the corner, we have another set of NEW games for you.
Remember, you can also try these games in the FUN MODE!

Which game are you planning to play?

Forge of Gems - bit.ly/ForgeOfGems
25000 Talons - bit.ly/25000Talons
Sakura Fortune 2 - bit.ly/SakuraFortune2
Khan's Wild West - bit.ly/KhansWildWest
Drill That Gold - bit.ly/DrillThatGoldBC

PS:  You can also play our GAME OF THE WEEK here - bit.ly/GladiatorLegends

Cheers,
Karl,
Bitcasino.io

I took a shot at "Drill that Gold" and having a reported RTP of 96.49% which is in line with most Pragmatic Play slots... I thought it would be an easy Slot. Well I was wrong.... the variance/volatility are very high ...so you not going to get that win very quickly.

It has the "Fire in the Hole" from Nolimit City feel, but it is slightly different. The Drill feature activates and transforms into a drill symbol and it expands and transforms into a wild reel which reveal a cash prize.  Grin

Hunting for the Golden Drill can become a bit boring or mundane ..... but it is rewarding when you eventually get it.  Wink

2927  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Features - Less is More on: April 22, 2022, 07:36:14 AM
I have to agree with you .... I will rather prefer a slim version of Electrum with all the basic features you need... than a feature rich version of Electrum with bells&whistles you almost never use. (Make those add-ons for the people who wants to use it)  Roll Eyes

As you said in your post.... loads of features increase attack vectors for more exploits and that is not what we want. Now you have a feature rich wallet with a lot of holes and weak security. (This will also force regular updates and fixes and newer version of the software.. that will open up opportunities for hackers to exploit that too) - Solarwinds hack was done via an update ==>  "install the malicious code into a new batch of software distributed by SolarWinds as an update or patch." 2928  Economy / Economics / Re: How Capitalism defeated socialism? on: April 22, 2022, 07:15:39 AM
I am not a Socialists ...and I will probably never be one, but I can tell you one thing.... Capitalism is not perfect in any way. Take this example for instance... In some Capitalist countries you will find that the Mega farmers will start to buy out the smaller farms and they will totally dominate the whole agriculture scene or parts of it. (They will then use that power as leverage to manipulate food prices)

The gap between the Super Rich and the poor are widening and the Middle Class are being wiped out. Now you have the situation where millions of people are living in absolute poverty and a few individuals own most of the land and wealth of the country. How can this be better than a more equal distribution of wealth?

Yes I know Super Rich people are creating jobs and they pay most of the taxes, but monopolies and total domination of certain industries are bad for a country. (Price manipulation and no competition create opportunities for misuse and over pricing)  Roll Eyes
2929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A simple proposal for an environmental-friendly regulation for Bitcoin mining on: April 22, 2022, 05:30:18 AM
The problem in many countries are not the high consumption of electricity by PoW mining, but rather the local governments incompetency to provide enough power to their citizens. In some countries where Coal mining are being used as the primary source of electricity, the government gave State entities the monopoly over electricity generation.

So you will find that only a small percentage of "Green" power are outsourced to Private companies to allow them to generate electricity from other methods. (Wind/Solar etc...) Those governments want to have control over Power generation, because it provides work for corrupt officials and also opportunities for those officials to get Billions of Dollars in tenders. (where they receive kickbacks and bribes to give those tenders to specific companies that are willing to pay these bribes)

So this is not going to work in all countries, because the governments are corrupt and they are not going to allow for "Popup" Green projects Roll Eyes
2930  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Turn photos into Bitcoin wallets on: April 21, 2022, 10:18:06 AM
Well this project actually gave me an idea to hide a 12 word seed, by simply creating a Coffee table book with pictures that has all the words in the Seed in front of you, but not actually showing that it is a 12 word seed.

You can tell your family in your "Will" to take the Coffee table book with pictures on the shelve to decipher your 12 word Seed for your coins.. and they will be able to get access to your wallet.

Just leave instructions and clues in your "Will" ...so that nobody else with access to it, will be able to use it. (Example : My first Coffee table book are left to my brother John" ..... John will know what to do with that information, because he knows about the Book and you have shown him in advance how to use seed phrases.  Wink
2931  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you like to become a co-owner of a world bank? on: April 21, 2022, 10:01:12 AM
Do you think the average Joe (Public) are ready for the complexity of managing Smart contracts? The whole goal is to bypass any intermediary or third party and to be "Your own Bank" as an individual.

The complexity of projects like this will necessitate that centralized 3rd parties will have to get involved to assist these people and that voids the whole... "Be your own Bank" idea.

If the Software developers can simplify this process into say a 3 step procedure... projects like this will work. Do you think it is possible to reduce the steps to make it "idiot" proof?
2932  Economy / Gambling / Re: Question for regular casino players. Will you use Lightning if available? on: April 21, 2022, 09:44:29 AM
That depends on what situation the crypto is in. As of now, the transaction fee is cheap or almost free if you ask me and there are altcoins that have very low fee so, if you ask me right now if I will use lightning network then my answer is no but if the transaction fee right now is very high then yes, I will surely use lightning network to have fast transactions and low fees. Who wouldn't want a high transaction fee if you don't have lots of money?

You are actually making a very valid point.... some casinos like Freebitco.in and Stake.com have original games where you can gamble with a few Satoshi... and it simply does not make sense to pay say $5 in fees for a Legacy Bitcoin transaction... if you want to gamble for fun with very low bets.

I can see a situation where small gamblers will want to use the Lightning Network to save on fees.. so that they could do these micro betting with a few Satoshi.  Wink

Bankrupt?

Most people with around 90% are gonna play the bonus balance, and we all know the chance of losing is always higher than winning. Even they paid a huge bonus for event around 70-80% are gonna back again to stake.

So, not losing anything. Their user also growing as well, now we have around 9,000-10,000 online people ~XD

Yes, but if their expenses become more than their income... things might become a bit dodgy if they have to pay out some huge wins that was won with those bonuses. Not all the money given out as bonuses are lost, some people win some money and they withdraw some of those winnings.  Wink

The question is.... How many of those online people are bots or people playing on Alt accounts? We see a significant spike in the online users when there are extra "reloads" ....which shows us that there are Alt accounts being used to farm these "reloads" .. Roll Eyes
2934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is it bad to leave crypto on exchanges? on: April 21, 2022, 05:42:57 AM
Never use an Exchange as a wallet for long-term storage, because there has been loads of incidents where Exchanges got hacked. Here are some of the biggest Crypto Exchanges that got hacked ==> https://crystalblockchain.com/articles/the-10-biggest-crypto-exchange-hacks-in-history/

Also, governments are still busy with legislation and laws regarding Crypto currencies and they might clamp down on Exchanges with changes in laws and regulations and that might cause a forfeit or blocking of coins on Exchanges.  Roll Eyes
2935  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-02-26] Kazakhstan ministry halts illegal crypto mining operations on: April 20, 2022, 03:12:41 PM
Let's just see this in context with the bigger picture.... In 2021, China banned all cryptocurrency-related mining activities and Miners scrambled into crypto-friendly Kazakhstan. How many of these operations registered themselves to pay Taxes and/or to operate a business in a foreign country?

This influx of energy intensive mining operations has put pressure on their electricity network, according this this BBC article : https://www.bbc.com/news/av/technology-60148754

"Kazakhstan's crypto mining farms are mostly powered by aging coal plants, which are a headache for authorities as they seek to decarbonise the economy." - Source : https://www.reuters.com/technology/kazakhstans-bitcoin-paradise-may-be-losing-its-lustre-2022-01-14/
2936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin privacy? on: April 20, 2022, 02:46:44 PM
I see it like this...... Not EVERYONE will know you are linked to a specific Bitcoin address .....just the people that make it their business to acquire and store that information. You can mess with their plans, if you do not re-use the same Bitcoin addresses and/or if you use several Bitcoin Mixers.

The thing is.... The average Joe on the street will not have that information... Only if that information are hacked or leaked on purpose. The same goes with all centralized FIAT businesses and even Banks.  Wink
2937  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - 🦉 DRAKE x STAKE 🥩 - Watford FC & UFC Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: April 20, 2022, 02:35:52 PM
We are free to have opinions and make decisions what we think is appropriate and what is not it's okay if someone is still disappointed
Maybe they are expecting too much to get something because it was promised in advance via email there is something big during easter
There are 2 possibilities that they misunderstood the content of the email or were expecting too much.

I think most people were waiting for another free bonuses but in fact there is no other free bonus code during Easter, that's why they feel disappointed. I cant deny that I was expecting another bonus as well but I'm not that disappointed if there is no bonus because I did not take the content of the last email as a promise. It is obvious that they are free to express their feeling but they should also need to accept the fact what they expect is not coming.

Same with you waiting for the bonus code too but the last code seems to be shared in a live stream that not everyone can participate
It's okay we end easter with no extra bonus we know stake has been generous some time ago with the announcement of new sponsors
It's just that not everyone understands it.

If Stake had promotions for each "Religious" holiday or event, they would surely go bankrupt. We have Christmas / Hajj/Eid-Al-Adha / Hanukkah / Diwali / Easter / Makar Sankranti / Ramadan / Chinese New Year / Halloween etc.... etc...  Roll Eyes

Also, if they celebrate say Christmas with bonuses and not Diwali .... then people will have things to say about that. All of these bonuses are funded by players losses, so it will result in lower RTPs being implemented to pay for all these bonuses.   Roll Eyes

Edit : higher - lower
2938  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — 1st licensed crypto casino 🥇 Change the way you play 🚀 on: April 20, 2022, 02:12:35 PM
Talking about bitcoin predictions, it looks like the current movement of bitcoin is starting to look good because the price could touch $42k again but this is still a question mark whether the price can continue to rise and return to $43k-$44k or go back down. What we're hoping for is that the price can bounce back and even break through back at $45k. This year there is a possibility that bitcoin will return to the price of $50k-$60k moreover we still have about 7 months before the end of the year so anything can happen, including if the price becomes unstable again.

Well, the movement on the Exchanges are not supporting your predictions. A lot of the large whales have moved their coins out of Exchanges, which is telling me that something is happening or it is going to happen soon. The only reason why they might be doing this, is if there will be increased regulations regarding centralized Exchanges.. that will endanger their coins.  Roll Eyes

It can also be Russian users that has not be identified yet, that might be shifting their coins to cold storage to prevent a situation where their accounts might be locked or withdrawals blocked.  Huh Roll Eyes
2939  Economy / Economics / Re: U.S. links North Korean hacker group to $600 million crypto theft on: April 19, 2022, 04:30:18 PM
The thing is this.... How do you prove that a specific group are linked to a Bitcoin address? They have to re-use a Bitcoin address and you cannot tell me that a sophisticated hacker group will re-use Bitcoin addresses.  Roll Eyes This can just be one more of those "conspiracy theories" that could be invented to serve a specific agenda for the US government.

In this case it could be an agenda to "blame" Crypto currency for something horrendous, so that it gives them ammunition to over regulate it. (Like 911 gave them FREE pass to use surveillance on everyone, even if they were not linked to terrorism)  Roll Eyes

United Rugby Championship

It is just unlucky that the Stormers had those two draws, because they deserve a spot in the top 4, but they are playing the Glasgow Warriors in their next match on the 22 of April, so they can push for a top 4 position on the log.. if they can win that one.  Roll Eyes

The Bulls and the Sharks are not having a bad season either, so I will not be amazed if they end up somewhere in one of the top 4 spots at the end of the championship.

Just great to see that the South African teams are doing better in this years championship.... so far.  Grin
