2921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter Hackers Arrested! [Updated] on: August 02, 2020, 09:24:53 AM
Well, this boy is computer wizard and high probability he is not working alone just to pull off that kind of big attack from famous people and waiting for others to be arrested as well. Too sad to see his hacking skills got wasted again due to fraud attacks but justice must be served at all times because it's a crime he must face it for a long sentence in jail to repent of his wrong doings.
I have reviewed the case and it is not about the intelligence but the lack of security in dealing with sensitive tools by the twitter officials. All these kid did was to enter the twitter slack channel where the back end tool was pinned and then collect all the database of the employees and then bombard them with phishing emails and there is nothing intelligent about it, i am not specifying which tools they used to bypass the 2 FA to gain access to these accounts but it is not that hard. The stupidity of their actions leads to them as they never used anything to bypass or hide their tracks nor they had no idea how to remove those logs.

To everyone who is calling them intelligent

Intelligence is one thing and clearly these kids did not have when it comes to hacking, they took the opportunity presented and ran with it and got caught.
2922  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Putin signed a law on the regulation of cryptocurrencies from 2021 on: August 01, 2020, 11:04:24 PM
The law prohibits dealing, but it does not contain any penalties. The idea of punishing BTC investors with fines and prison terms has been suspended for the time being.

A law is expected to criminalize trading or impose severe penalties, but it is unlikely that it will be passed soon.
I do not think that they will pass a law that will criminalize trading because when a similar bill was introduced there was an outcry from ministers and cryptocurrency investors and now they are passing a law which allows companies to issue digital securities in blockchain if they are registered with the bank of Russia and if you pass a law like that then you cannot make a U turn and then ban everything. I am expecting strict regulations but not banning and imprisonment for users who abide by the law.
2923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia legalizing Bitcoin and cryptos but not allowed as payment method? on: August 01, 2020, 06:20:14 PM
There is one thing to keep in mind :
The Russian Government understood the fact that Bitcoins is going to stay here for a long time and if they keep doing this , ignoring the existence and banning it for the long run , at the end of the day they will be two steps backward from everyone else.
They understood the fact that even if they ban the entire cryptocurrency market people will overcome the ban and it is better to have some sort of control by the government and they can identify this as a alternative option during the trade wars.

Therefore they legalised the cryptocurrencies. First they weren't even sure about legalizing it , give them time. Given the right opportunities I do think soon enough the people will privately try using Bitcoins as a payment and grow their business in the shadows and Government might display fine or even KYC .
Even the US was not sure how to handle the cryptocurrency market and that is the case with many government around the globe and it is a good concept that many of the countries could accept, not allowing them as a legal currency but an investment option that can be traded in legal exchanges.

ICO's and startups needs a good platform this it's very essential that they try and think about the impact it will have on people , the opportunities they will get therefore let's wait and see how it turns out.
It will be and should be completely regulated and then we can get rid of the scammers.
2924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: August 01, 2020, 04:10:07 PM
Ireland batting first again seems to be close to their previous score only. Though the good point is that they will end up batting either full 50 overs or close to that. Curtis is playing on 42 . They should be targeting crossing 200 runs atleast and try to pick few wickets of England team rather than losing this game one sided.
What ever score Ireland is going to make from this point will not be competitive and the odds are lopsided from the start when they lost a couple of wickets and i do not understand why the Ireland captain is fixated on deciding to bat first when their batsman are struggling to make any impact or may be because they are worried that England will post a huge total and humiliate their bowlers  Grin.

Now wait till people start dumping cryptos and stocks ...then the blood bath starts ...
I think i am going to start a cheap booze/liquor biz   as 1929 is back ...
If the economy is going to doom as you think it will, then there is no point in starting a business as you will eventually fall into that cycle. There is a recession we will be facing in the near future but the extend of that is not yet known because i am really surprised when the stock market was held up when everything was shut down and in my experience anything of this sort would crash the market and we are still sustaining and whether these things will spiral out of hand in the coming years is to be seen and the recent rise in gold price is evidence that something bad is going to happen.
2926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 31, 2020, 11:29:30 PM
I think you mixed things up, and I was not talking about his fight with Justin Gaethje but about potential fight that comes after that with Georges StPierre. Smiley
We are going to see what happens in near future.
When Georges St-Pierre expressed his interest on becoming a three division world champion the UFC especially Dana White was against it because he knew that GSP will not defend the belt and he broke the promise that he will defend the Middleweight belt but ended up vacating and retiring again but now the situation has changed dramatically, Khabib wants to fulfill his fathers dream of retiring at 30 fights which i personally do not want him to follow that and the final fight would be against GSP and he even said the date to be April 2021 to be his last fight and now Dana White accepted that he is willing to grand the wishes of Khabib if he wants to fight GSP.

If GSP accepts the fight it will be the biggest fight in MMA history. GSP coming off another 4 years lay off and returning for a third belt and the last fight of the undefeated king from Russia Cheesy.
2927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 31, 2020, 06:09:32 PM
Pathetic performance by the Irish side, they need to rethink their batting strategy.
They need to spend more time in the crease rather than going for the big shots before settling down.

Also, Ireland has some potential to make match tough as seen in the past, only thing they do not play much cricket so that experience might be lacking with them.
Ireland is playing cricket, they had a series with West Indies this year in January, if i remember correctly they defeated West Indies in T20 and leveled the series but they lost the ODI series and before that they were playing T20 World Cup qualifiers. I am not expecting Ireland to upset England in T20 but they can compete in the T20 format.
2928  Other / Archival / Re: [sportsbet.io] Responsible gambling failure, not honouring their own t&c's. on: July 31, 2020, 03:34:28 PM
Having breached my self exclusion multiple times, I believe they should be voiding my wagering as per their terms and conditions and of course return my funds to me, although it states “at their discretion”!!.

Regardless of the above terms, the ethical response of this would be to return my funds. I asked them for help, I self excluded from their platform to offer me protection, because I needed it. I believe their attempts at blocking my accounts have not been sufficient and that they are just as responsible as me for me losing everything I have.
If you had this much clarity on what you were doing, what stopped you from getting a real help rather than asking the house to own up to your ways. It is good to own your misfortunes rather than finding a way to put that blame on someone else's shoes.

It’s so crazy that a company can allow me to lose so much money without even asking me to KYC once, having proper KYC in place would have protected me and prevented me from being in such a bad situation.
You did this to yourself, how crazy it would be for you to keep on placing bets even if you are loosing millions and you do now you identified that it was the house to blame because why would they allow you to loose this much, the answer is simple, they are not a charity and they do not mind people gambling and they are not checking your state of mind as you are responsible for your actions.

I appreciate that Sportsbet.io would have incurred costs from this incident such as commissions to their game providers and I would be willing to accept some of the responsibility and have a reduced sum returned to me. I hope Sportsbet will eventually come to the right decision as at the moment I feel this has been handled very badly and unfairly. I have been completely truthful with sportsbet.io throughout and I have not attempted to defraud them at any point, all I ask is that I am treated fairly.
Since you have the patience and asked everyone to see both sides, what happens if everyone who looses big comes with the same claim and ask the house to own up and ask to play fair by your standard, what would be the situation for online gambling sites, would that be a fair assessment ?.

If you won they would have given you the funds you deposited Wink, since you were chasing those loses with multiple accounts all you can do is own up and fighting for that will not give you any reward, sad to see your situation but its better to get some serious help.

but there were precedents of other cases where the gamblers won
Not heard about a precedent where someone lost to the house online and then winning a legal case, but i have heard about a case where the gambler won legally because of intoxication and the case was won because they could provide evidence that someone spiked the drinks and he was not in a situation to gamble and yet the house allowed him to gamble and lost millions.

2929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 30, 2020, 10:04:49 PM
I guess everyone would be surprised by Ireland's comeback after losing 5 wickets for 28 runs. I honestly didn't expect they would post a target of 173 runs. I would be more surprised if they somehow manage a win even though it's highly not possible  Tongue
If the Ireland batsman can score some runs then we might see a good battle because England is experimenting with a new team and the way in which they batted chasing a small total loosing 4 wickets, it is possible to see an upset in atleast one match and the odds are really good for Ireland as they have done that in the past and those players are still playing in the team who could pull off the upset Wink.

The star of Khamzat Chimaev exploded after his two fight domination ten days apart in different weight class which is a record and now there are talks about him fighting in the next fight card as well and his visa procedure is undergoing as we speak and it will be crazy if he dominates the next fight as well.

^  Chimaev competes mostly in WW but moved up a couple weeks ago at MW.  So it's prolly him wlaking around heavier then fought at UFC Fight Island 2 then lost the weight to fight again at UFC Fight Island 3.

But yeah..  He's gonna be a contender in a couple of years or less.
Khamzat Chimaev was a freestyle wrestler and was completely dominating the wrestling circuits in welterweight and middleweight division and 3 years back he started MMA because of the money involved as he was not making a dime in wrestling, his first fight in the UFC at Abu Dhabi in the fight island recently was a short notice replacement and he will be fighting at welterweight in the UFC. The only doubt i have about him is his endurance and stamina when he faces high level competition.
2931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal to Offer Crypto Trading on: July 28, 2020, 01:05:58 PM
As the topic says the payment giant company was reportedly plans to introduce crypto trading through a new brokerage service offered by United States stablecoin operator Paxos.
Good luck with that but most of the customers who had their funds confiscated in the past will not dare to trade in their platform and there are other good trading platforms that are doing a good job. It is not a big surprise that these companies are planning their trading platforms because the amount of profits companies like binance and other trading platforms make are really huge.

Theres also a rumor that the payment giant company wrote a letter to EU commission just for the development of their own crypto but when they were confronted about it they said "PayPal does not comment on rumors or speculation.”
I wish the EU commission will shut down these stupid tokens, we just need BTCitcoin and i do not want to see every company coming up with their token.

Anyway, the Indian government is going to lose somewhere between ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 crore, if the IPL is held outside India. That's why I am still doubtful whether the Indian government will give permission to the BCCI, to hold IPL 2020 outside India. Perhaps the BCCI can reach some sort of a deal with the government, especially since Sourav Ganguly is considered as very close to the ruling party.
Do you think the Indian government is in a position to allow the BCCI to conduct the tournament, there is a certain funds the government is collecting in the name of disaster funds and they started collecting in the name of corona and i have no clue what they are doing with the millions they collected as there is no auditing in those funds and the situation there is no way the pandemic is under control even with months of lock down and there is no clarity on what the government is going to do and with all these there is no way the government will be crying about the money.

Probably they think that Stuart Broad is close to retirement and they wanted to give chance to some of the younger players (such as Jofra Archer, Mark Wood and Chris Woakes).
Stuart Broad is actually the highest wicket taker in the past tournaments and i was actually shocked to see him not selected in the first match and now he played the next two matches and yet he is again the highest wicket taker by a long margin in this series in both the teams and he just need 1 more wicket to reach 500 Test wickets which is incredible and 14 wickets in this series and with the way he started the day he will pick further wickets.

But IMO, Broad has got a raw deal from the selectors for the last few years. Despite being an all rounder, I have seen him batting at the no.11 slot. The younger bowlers on the other hand, are being given a flurry of opportunities, despite their bad form. Jofra Archer is not performing well for almost an year. But even now the English selectors treat him like he is some sort of divine invention.
The dip in batting form happened after Stuart broad was hit in the head by a Varun Aaron bouncer and broke his nose in 2014 and after that he himself said he lost his confidence in batting and in this series he wanted to perform again with the bat and he was training especially to change his batting and to start attacking rather than defense and it worked.
2934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH is going up day by day.. on: July 26, 2020, 04:08:39 PM
I have noticed many of the alts but ETH is truly a strong competitor in crypto market, over the past few days ETH is showing some great signs which means the price is pumping.
It is not just ETH rallying there are other coins joining the rally which includes BTCitcoin, Cardano and XRP. I am not expecting a separate rally just for ETH but there are other coins as well with much lesser valuation that can rally when the entire market moves up.

The price have also break new yearly high, eth is absolute gem for Investment. I am sure it is all set to break $300k barrier some interesting story is about to come in this crypto market, let's wait and watch...
Lets see how the ETH 2.0 comes out and the transaction value is not getting better either to expect a break and rally to an all time high valuation and why are you so sure that it will break $300k, i am not even sure BTCitcoin will reach those valuation in the near future and here you are predicting that ETH would reach those valuation  Roll Eyes Tongue.
2935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 26, 2020, 12:53:19 PM
The decision to not play Stuart Broad by the selectors and the captain Ben Stokes was critical in the first match and they lost and learned a good lesson and his importance in the long format is proved by his performance in the second and now in the third Test. As expected England is batting and they will try to score over 300 runs and with plenty of time left in the match, there is no way West Indies can make a comeback in this match unless there is weather interruption.

~
Ben Stokes is not 100% fit to ball and definitely can't ball long spell according to English camp (reason: stiffness/niggle during 2nd test). Its safe to assume that  English camp don't want to take any risk.
Oh i was not aware of that.
2936  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is $10,000 on: July 26, 2020, 10:58:05 AM
It looks like there's a FOMO, but if we are in the bull run already, I think I will not conclude yet, I will observe the market first, if bitcoin will reach at least $11k, then I guess I'll be convinced that the bull run is here.
The price jumped 4.4% today and it is a big jump in some time, there is a lot of selling pressure over $10k and the exchange i am trading touched $10100 and we had a lot of sell off and if we are able to see some have a good support and a good buy wall then we will be able to overcome the resistance we have for months and once we cross the resistance then we will see a rally, it all depends upon what happens in the next few hours.
2937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 26, 2020, 07:56:38 AM
I don't think they are able stand in front of England's seam bowlers. Because England's seam bowling line up is one of the hardest lineups in the world. I think, no one are able to save West Indies from losing this series except rain  Wink. let's see what will happen.
England bowled 47 overs and we are yet to see Ben Stokes and Dom Bess bowl in this match, they have many option for bowling in this match and i do not think that England will enforce a follow on and all they need is to score a few runs more quick runs and then put West Indies back in the last two days.

Yesterday i was surprised to see a huge man on the West Indies side and his name is Rahkeem Cornwall and i was really surprised to see someone of his size in an international team who is 6.5 and weighing over 300 pounds and he was strategically placed in slips but dropped a catch and the butter hands of Ben Stokes continues as he is missing catches every match.
2938  Economy / Economics / Re: Will India be more progressive in the coming years? on: July 26, 2020, 04:43:09 AM
India is a very large country in terms of population india will be more progressive in the years to come if the effects of the virus diminish as the system of good governance in India is very strict if it was under the control of crypto, it would have progressed much faster.
The economic struggles in India started well before the covid situation and the government will blame everything on the global pandemic and try to convince people about it as they know how to fool the general population. If you take a look back the major slowdown started with demonetization which was a big blunder and then the GST which harmed many industries directly and indirectly and then the Modi government was busy selling all the Public sector undertakings and it will be a big problem in the future and basically the government was destroying everything step by step and it will have a big impact on the economy.

Initially it legalized the adoption of crypto but later they imposed strict restrictions as there was no control of any third party if anyone accepts strict action will be taken against him it will take some time to control everything.
When it comes to legalization they did not do shit, all we have is rumors of bill and i have heard stupid perception of the BTCitcoin market from some of the ministers under his government and i think it is the general perception of the party and i do not believe we will see anything good from a party who has identity politics as their main agenda.

@eaLiTy did you check the odds for Khamzat Chimaev, 1.08  Tongue.
I did not check the odds but look out for Khamzat Chimaev in the next two years as he will be a title contender during that time period if he is not injured. I always look for young fighters who has the potential that could be title contenders just to wage during their earlier days and now there are two fighters which is Khamzat Chimaev and the next is Edmen Shahbazyan who is fighting Derek Brunson in August.

2940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal are reportedly planning to bring crypto to it's users using Paxos. on: July 25, 2020, 06:51:03 AM
PayPal is notorious for freezing the user funds without giving the user much clarity and BTCitcoin is created to overcomes these sort of centralized payment system and now these payment systems need to grow according to the innovative new markets and they are providing BTCitcoin to its customers when we have a payment system that do not need a centralized companies to send the funds. It might introduce new users to BTCitcoin but i do not think anyone who used BTCitcoin will be using these services.
