2921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US 2020 Elections data, polls and bets on: September 28, 2020, 12:01:23 PM
I wonder what will happen to your bet if the result takes weeks/months to be decided, or is never decided (with someone else becoming president) ? Since Trump is already saying he might not accept the result...

Trump never said that he'll not accept the result. He said that he will not allow the democrats to rig the election process through fraudulent ballots. Both Trump and Biden teams have already recruited dozens of lawyers, anticipating a long legal battle during the counting process. Both the Democrats and the Republicans have a history of manipulating the postal ballots and therefore these precautions are required at least in the swing states such as PA and FL.
2922  Economy / Economics / Re: I have discovered Something about covid 19 on: September 28, 2020, 11:33:53 AM
I am not sure which country you are from, but if you look at the debt according to the countries GDP Japan has the most debt and Greece and Singapore comes in the top ten. The data is available for everyone to cross check and can you very well tell one country that is not affected by the pandemic, every country is struggling from the pandemic and it is not smoke and mirrors but there will be smoke and mirrors in the sense that the politicians will blame their failed policies on the economic struggle entirely on the pandemic.

Japan always had a very high debt-to-GDP ratio and there the economy is used it. The other countries that you have mentioned (Greece, Singapore.etc) doesn't even rank among the top-25 countries as far as GDP is concerned. And the high debt-to-GDP ratio forced an economic meltdown in Greece a few years back. None of the major economies apart from Japan and the US have such a high ratio.
2923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The bounty scam will gradually go away on: September 28, 2020, 11:19:51 AM
First of all, the number of active bounty campaigns have declined very significantly.

It is that obvious too I think it has. The scammers have really taken a lot of money and time from investors and hunters. But the good thing is as you have observed too. Hunters are tired of being scammed and are being careful. So they are selective which has really reduced rate of new scam bounties.

There are two things here. First is that the number of ICOs have been on the decline, partly due to the low success rate in the recent times. Less ICOs mean less bounty campaigns. Secondly, as you pointed out a lot of users are no longer interested in participating in these bounties. They are fed up of all the scams and delayed payments. Only a few desperate ones, mostly consisting of new users now participate in these campaigns.
2924  Economy / Economics / Re: US economy will continue to recover - Powell on: September 28, 2020, 11:00:15 AM
Even if the US can borrow huge amounts of money, that will not be the solution to prevent the crisis. I think the US government still figure out how to stimulate the economy to grow as before. The US's impact happens to all countries, and besides searching for the way to solve the economic crises, the government is trying to work hard to prevent the new case. It still needs time to recovery everything, including the economy, even if the vaccine is found. I think that the US will use tight regulations in any sector to prevent the situation from getting worst.

No immediate solution is available as of now. The US seems to be suffering from a double whammy. First of all, they have the largest number of infections in the world (even higher than Brazil and India, and that too by a distance). And secondly, the fatality rate in the US is much higher than what they have in countries such as India and Pakistan. On top of that, things get complicated there because there is a very vocal section of the population which refuses to adhere to social distancing and other precautionary measures.
2925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 sportbet.one 🏏🏏 [IPL 2020] Prediction pool and discussion 🏏🏏 on: September 28, 2020, 10:52:35 AM
Bhai, you are being too hard on them, you are neglecting Mayank's ton, Samson's inning. Mayank and Pooran's excellent fielding efforts and the important one Rahul Tewatia's blinder.

For Tewatia i would say it was one of the best individual comeback in the T-20 cricket history. Imagine management promoting you as a hitter but you missing out every single ball while chasing mammoth target, millions of million people cursing you and praying for you to get out. Opposition fielder literally making fun out of you and your own team mate (Samson) refuse to give you strike by saying no to easy single, its embarrassing at all level.

As you posted earlier, Tewatia went from zero to hero in a space of around 10 minutes. Actually it was Samson and Smith who laid the foundation for the successful run chase by the Rajasthan Royals. But in the end, no one was talking about them. Tewatia just overshadowed everyone else. And with such a strong batting lineup, it is difficult to believe that the KXIP has lost two out of their three matches so far.
2926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 27, 2020, 01:47:06 PM
The latest news regarding test format is the postponement of the match between Australia and Afghanistan, which was originally scheduled for November 2020 in Perth. It would have been Afghanistan's first test match in Australia, but unfortunately CA decided to postpone it due to the COVID 19 related scheduling issues. As of now, it is not known when this match will be played.
2927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The bounty scam will gradually go away on: September 27, 2020, 01:34:25 PM
First of all, the number of active bounty campaigns have declined very significantly. Even those bounties which are active now no longer have senior members participating in them. Most of the participants are newbies and junior members. Unless the bounties are able to attract high ranking members, they will not be able to attract the investors in a big way. And despite this, they still refuse to listen to the bounty hunters. They want to go ahead with the exploitative terms and conditions.
2928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you trust, BNB or ETH? on: September 27, 2020, 01:25:07 PM
Voted for ETH in this poll, but if "NONE" option was available then I would have gone with it. It is difficult to completely trust BNB, because it is just an exchange token. And history has taught us not to trust any of the cryptocurrency exchanges. But is Ethereum any better? Ethereum, as a second-generation cryptocurrency was a revolutionary invention. But is rapidly becoming obsolete now. The developers are delaying their work and the ordinary users are struggling to deal with high transaction fee and other issues.
2929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: September 27, 2020, 01:19:16 PM
I couldn't believe it when I heard the news, he was a great person for cricket and helped a lot of young players in India where he did coaching for many years and was well respected by a lot of players. He will be missed by the cricket community.

The younger generation remember him as an expert commentator. He played his last test in 1992, and only the older generation remember his playing days. That said he was very active in the commentatory teams and as you mentioned in the coaching department. He coached the Islamabad United in PSL, and they won two championships during his term.
2930  Economy / Economics / Re: Can legalisation of Cannabis help US economy? on: September 27, 2020, 01:13:17 PM
Does that mean that they can't actually use cannabis?

I mean they couldn't use cannabis even if it is for medical purposes? Isn't that bad since there are a lot of people that needed cannabis and without that they would be exposed to other things that could affect their health just like you said about the overdosing to synthetic opioids? I thought people could use cannabis despite the ban of it as long as it is for medical purposes.

No. It is not legal.

Only in countries where it is legal to use medical marijuana, you can do that. In countries such as Malaysia, Cannabis is banned. And this ban covers both medical and recreational usage. If I am not wrong, Malaysia recently sentenced a few people to death for using cannabis oil as a painkiller. In such cases, you will be forced to use the alternative (synthetic opioids), although they are not 100% safe.
2931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum fees are crazy... on: September 27, 2020, 01:07:04 PM
ETH 2.0 is also unable to solve the problem as people use ETH more and more in the future.
ETH confirms transactions in the form of cost auctions, those who send more costs get confirmed first, and those who send less are confirmed later. Priority is given to the rich. It is necessary to change this form of confirmation, not to auction but to comply with the standard time, whoever sends first is confirmed first. Only then will the Ethereum network get better, the costs fixed and the congestion stops.

ETH 2.0 is not a magic bullet which can solve all the issues associated with Ethereum transactions and blockchain. And Ethereum is not the only cryptocurrency which have been facing scaling issues. For Bitcoin, this issue has persisted for many years (and even now, a permanent solution is not available). Let nature take its way. If Ethereum is unable to cope with high volumes, then it will be replaced with another cryptocurrency, which is more efficient in dealing with this issue.
2932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miami Dade to open Casinos and Restaurants for the third time. on: September 27, 2020, 01:01:27 PM
In my city in the subway all the people are without face masks! And in rush hour this huge number of people have no social distance... And if you believe the statistics, COVID get 200-250 people per day!
That's why I don't think that at the opening of the casino the probability of getting COVID will be more than in the subway!

Even here that is the case. Now it is known to everyone that the younger people are very unlikely to get sick from COVID 19. The mortality rate is less than 1 in 1000 for under-30 age group. That may be one of the reasons why some people are so careless about following the precautions. But even for younger people, it is not 100% safe to roam around like this. The fatality rate may be just 0.1%, but you never know when your luck runs out.
2933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust USDT? on: September 27, 2020, 12:55:20 PM
as USDT tether always claim that there token is pegged by 1:1 USD dollar. but in the last few months, there is an increase in printing of USDT which is suddenly increasing in the supply of USDT. and people doubt that. if they going to scam it will hurt more crypto world. because mostly investor secures their funds in USDT as it is a stable coin and support many blockchains. as a suggestion, you can keep your fund in multiple stable coins BUSD, DAI,USDC.

USDT is increasingly looking like a scam to me. During the past few months, the market cap has increased by at least 4 times. How can they increase their market cap like this at a time, when they are still under investigation from the New York appeals court? There is no independent audit of their backup and if the ruling is against the Tether foundation then you can expect chaos in the market.
2934  Economy / Economics / Re: Will African countries be developed? on: September 27, 2020, 12:49:06 PM
It isn't just Africa though. You see bad economies and underdevelopment in a lot of countries that have autocratic and corrupt leadership. Usually, they go hand in hand. The governments are autocratic because the corrupt leaders are looting the countries resources for personal gain, and the autocratic nature of the country prevents political opposition that might make things free and fair and based on meritocracy.

In most cases, authoritarian countries will be having weak economies, but there can be exceptions. A perfect example is that of China. Democracy doesn't exist in that country, and yet they managed to achieve staggering amount of economic growth in the 1990s. On the other hand, their democrat neighbors (such as India, Philippines, Vietnam, Laos.etc) grew at a much smaller pace during the same period.
2935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 27, 2020, 12:43:06 PM
I was not aware about this tournament, on wich platform is it bein streamed?
Most of us are busy watching IPL this month and I do not think many of us here were aware of this tournament.

Actually Sony SIX HD is the broadcaster, but I am not sure whether they will be covering the matches. In India, Jio TV is having the online streaming rights. So if you are having a JIO sim, then you can watch these matches live. I don't know the last time I watched a women's match. I tried to watch some of the WBBL matches, but they were not as exciting as the men's matches.
2936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forget bounties and Airdrops on: September 27, 2020, 12:37:18 PM
During my early days, I used to participate in a large number of airdrops. 95% of them used to be scams, but then the returns from the remaining 5% was like gold for me. Because back then, they represented by first cryptocurrency holdings. And I don't think that the situation has changed very significantly now. Even now, I would say that for the new users airdrops represent one of the easiest ways to get hold of some cryptocurrency.
2937  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: September 27, 2020, 12:31:24 PM
Common scenario in this global pandemic. Some merchants are giving reason of difficulty in transport, etc. But the problem is, the consumers are finding it difficult where to get their money to support their families. No jobs everywhere and yet these businesses are still screwing their clients.

Lockdown restrictions are mostly gone now and therefore they should not be facing any travel-related restriction (apart from the usual bureaucratic hassles). But the demand hasn't picked up. The reason is that large number of people have lost their jobs and they are surviving on savings and handouts now. They don't have the luxury to spend the way they want. Also, people are still avoiding non-essential travel and this means that they are stepping out of the home less often.
2938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: September 27, 2020, 12:25:13 PM
Few years back, the Indian team were only known for its batsmen. All the bowlers around the world fear from their strong batting line up but they lack quality bowling due to which they lost many matches. Current Indian team have improved in bowling too and now they have world class bowlers in their team.

I would recommend a small correction. The Indian team was known for the batsmen and for the spin bowlers. The Indian spinners were among the world's best. In the pace bowling department, they were really weak. Back then, they had only one genuine fast bowler (Javagal Srinath) who could bowl at least occasionally at 90mph plus. The remaining bowlers, such as Venkatesh Prasad, Debashish Mohanty.etc were just military medium. Compare it with the case we have now. I can count at least a dozen bowlers, who can be considered as genuine fast bowlers, including Bumrah, Umesh, Ishant, Aaron and Shami.
2939  Economy / Economics / Re: Why criminals prefer cash (Fiat) on top of crypto? on: September 27, 2020, 12:19:07 PM
Physical cash is the only currency that is 100% anonymous. None of the other forms of currency (including anonymous cryptocurrencies) can match physical cash as far as anonymity is concerned. I have used anonymous coins such as Deep Onion, Monero and Veil. All of them have some vulnerability, which may make it possible to trace back the transaction. Even if that is not possible, at some point the holders need to convert their anonymous coins to fiat cash. And this is the most vulnerable phase.
2940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KUCOIN Hacked on: September 27, 2020, 12:13:12 PM
It feels really devastating reading that kucoin has been hacked. I'm only happy that the hack would not affect the users funds, but 157 million dollars is not a small sum to walk over. Something really needs to be done about these incessant hacks. It's less than a month since we heard EterbaseExchange was hacked. I'm really not finding this hack issue funny. Every exchange should guard their assets more this period.

Well.. there is no quick fix solution. Exchange hacks have been regular occurrences ever since the first cryptocurrency exchange came online and it will continue to be so in the near future. The semi-anonymous nature of cryptocurrency and the ease of transferring funds from one country to another makes recovering the stolen amount even more difficult. And this, in turn attracts even more hackers and thieves.
