2941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many scammers have you funded by putting your money in? on: April 28, 2021, 08:55:21 AM
I don't think there's no shame admitting that we make mistakes, that's where you learn from. Sometimes even with DYOR, legit looking projects turn out to be scams. And sometimes we just want to risk it.

During last bullrun ico frency 2017-2018 many people were saying that ICO scams are now over and next time people will be smarter. However now there are more scams then ever, especially rug pulls in uniswap and pancakeswap. We just don't call them ICOs anymore.

My failures of judgement contain 2 icos from many years ago which were obvious scams in hindsight : Swiss Alps Mining, Envion and one latest where Dev disappeared after i aped in to some BSC shittoken for the hopes of 2x-10 flip (i can't even remember the name of it).

Luckily i haven't invested anything i couldn't lose (to scams anyway), and i have even made money with investing to something that turned out to be scam later on. But still they are obviously annoying.

So i would like to hear your stories on how did you get scammed. Was it because you aped in without research or something else?

My very first investment in the crypto space turned out to be a scam. That was back in August 2017 i think and i invested into the ICO of DimCoin. It was an african project and they managed to raise a huge amount of money (14M USD). Shortly after the ICO the CEO of the project left which was already a bad sign. Then nothing at all happened for some time. Suddenly a part of the team left DimCoin and created their own project, probably with the money they got from the DimCoin ICO. To make a long story short the project was and is a complete scam. Thank god i only invested 150$ because it was my very first investment and i didn't want to risk more money. Other poor people invested thousand of dollars and lost it all though.
2942  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: April 28, 2021, 08:45:10 AM
Chelsea had a great start into the game yesterday and Timo Werner had a huge chance to bring chelsea in front very early but he failed to get the ball past curtois. Then chelsea managed to score in a pretty simple way with a long pass to pulisic who then managed to score. It seemed to me that Real needed that longshot from benzema onto the post to wake up and then pretty soon afterwards they managed to score after the corner and benzema made a beautiful goal that many other forwards probably would have not managed to score.
It is now still completely open who will advance into the final but chelsea looked slightly stronger to me yesterday.
2943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: April 27, 2021, 04:14:04 PM

Is Real Madrid fuel almost empty ? They kinda need a break as Zidane didn't manage the important players because they're still fighting for LaLiga.

I don't think that the real players will be tired today. Real has probably the most experienced team in europe in terms of managing your energy for important games. That is probably the reason why Real didn't play that well in the last games because they had there focus already on the game against chelsea. I think this match is completely open and it really is 50/50 which of those two teams will advance into the final. No matter who advances will probably be the slight underdog in the final though as the others semi final is the "stronger" one in my opinion.
2944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If Musk doesn't tweet Dogecoin, can it still soar? on: April 27, 2021, 04:08:35 PM
Dogecoin is a coin without team and core technology, but Musk made it appear in the general public. Many people who are not cryptocurrency traders are buying Dogecoin, just like buying BTC. Why does it succeed? Is it just because of Musk? Dogira, Shibi, HOGE, who will be the next Dogecoin?

Or is there only only one unique Dogecoin?

I think dogecoin needed that public attention that came form the musk tweets back then. Now that Doge is already on the radar of everyone inside the crypto space and even of a lot of people who are not involved in cryptos yet i don't think that Doge needs constant tweets from famous people to remain at the current price lvl or to even rise in price again.
To you second point: I believe that there is only one Dogecoin out there and i was kinda irritated that people really bought all those clones like shiba, akita, husky and so on. Shiba has still a large trading volume but the other ones are pretty much gone again already. Elon is trending today on dextools though.  Roll Eyes
2945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 27, 2021, 12:44:38 PM

After the HSV (Formerly Dinosaurs) the next traditional club will be relegated this year, which is a shame about Schalke so not only is another traditional club including the fans missing, but also the derbies with Borussia are history for at least 1 year. But I don't think that Schalke will make it back up so quickly.

If the current trend continues, it is quite possible that werder bremen will also be relegated to the second division. Bremen just confirmed today that they will not fire their coach florian kohfeldt and that they will try to stay in the bundesliga with him. As of now Werder Bremen is the club with the most matches in the Bundesliga with 1927 even before bayern with 1901. If bremen has to play in the second division than this record would be gone too of course. A bundesliga without Hamburg, Schalke and Bremen would be pretty bad for the fans in my opinion but in the end only the points decide if they stay in the league or not.
2946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is the gas price so high on Ethereum? on: April 27, 2021, 12:37:02 PM
Seems like the effects of the ETH berlin upgrade are now showing. The gas fees of the last 2 or 3 days were on average around 50 gwei, which is way lower than last week and before where 150 gwei and more were the standard. I really hope that the gas fees will stabilise in this area or maybe will even go even lower. At the moment we are at around 3 dollars for an ETH transfer which is quite ok already, but 6 dollars or more for an ERC-20 transfer or even 15 $ for a swap are still way to expensive for small traders. As far as i know the Berlin upgrade was a rather small one and bigger ones are still to come of course with the transition to POS.
2947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Previous Projects in 2018 again Pumping to All time high on: April 27, 2021, 08:59:52 AM
I have noticed that 2018 best performed projects

Lots of these coins have performed very well on 2018 bull trend. In 2021 also slightly they are moving. I dont know they move to previous high. I guess 50%  of ATH can be performed.

Most people got These coin from All time high and they still regret and they are expecting return too. I think for it Pumpers will pump these coins. Its still continuing.

What is your thoughts

There are a lot of coins that have not reached their ATH from back in 2018 during this bullrun even though BTC and ETH hit new ATH's. Some examples for bigger projects that haven't reached their ATH yet are Monero (pretty close now though), IOTA (still only at around 50% of ATH), NEO and Dash (only at 1/5th of it's ATH). If i remember correclty all of those projects i mentioned were also in the top 10 or at least top 15 in 2018 in terms of market cap. Since then 3 years have passed and a lot of new projects have emerged. So there really is no bonus for older and established projects out there (apart from BTC and ETH) and those projects need to improve their marketing and development to stay relevant.
2948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 27, 2021, 07:56:48 AM
Sky sport news just reported that the bayern officials agreed to Hansi flicks wish to leave the Club after this season and that Julian nagelsmann already signed a 5 year contract with bayern and they expect bayern to make an official announcement about the signing today or tomorrow. Bayern has to pay between 20 and 25 million € to leipzig for nagelsmann which makes him the most expensive Coach so far.
2949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eth Berlin Upgrade and Gambling on: April 26, 2021, 10:46:13 AM
I know most of our crypto casinos and sportsbooks support ethereum deposits, but with the upcoming ethereum Berlin upgrade which is most likely to push transaction fees down, are people going to gamble more knowing that most of us are familiar to the coin and expect lower fees from today?

I don't really think that we will see a massive increase in gambling just because of the ETH-Upgrade. I mean for small gamblers and betters it was a real pain that you had to pay 20$ fee for a 50$ or 100$ transaction, but i still think that if you really want to gamble than even those very high fees will  not deter you from doing that. In the last 2 days the Gas fees are almost constantly down to around 50 gwei now, which means like 2,50$ gas fee for a ETH transaction. This is of course way more convenient for everyone using the ETH network including gamblers.
2950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC still wants XRP so badly on: April 26, 2021, 10:38:39 AM
U.S SEC don't plan on letting XRP escape it's grab, maybe probably they are XRP winning? Maybe this will be the first time that SEC lose a case? Read the new information surrounding XRP vs SEC that leaves investors trembling in fear

https://cryptoslate.com/ripple-faces-new-hurdle-in-legal-battle-against-the-sec/

Seems like the SEC won't let go off XRP so easily. I guess they are not used to losing a case or if not everything goes in their direction. The SEC probably never expected, that the judge would deny them access to the bank records of the XRP executives. That the SEC themself claims now that they are being harrased by XRP sounds kinda ridiculous to me as they are usually the ones who are harrasing the crypto market.
2951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Burn? on: April 26, 2021, 09:18:51 AM
Hi,
What happens with coin burning?  Im guessing it will decrease the total available but not sure

I read this could be happening with TRX (Tronix)

Could this push its value up?

A coin burn is a really interesting method to decrease the supply of a coin. I think that projects that have a coin burn mechanism as part of their tokenomics and business model are particularly interesting for investors because the supply will decrease over time and therefore even with a consistent demand the price should move up at least in theory.
The Exchange KuCoin does this too for example. They take a part of the trading fees that they collected during a certain period and use that to buy KuCoin Shares from the Market. Those Tokens are then sent to a burn-address which is an address that no one has the private keys of, which means no one can access that wallet and those coins are basically gone then.
2952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You can't always hit the right target on: April 25, 2021, 06:28:53 PM
The word "bounty" means getting paid for capturing or retrieving something right? There is no much difference with bounty hunting on this forum too, the meaning of bounty shows that you can't always catch things right, there will be times when failure will occur but some people wants reward for every single projects they promote, even if you are a pro bounty hunter who's very smart at choosing projects you won't always make the right choice.

start acting like a real bounty hunter, if projects don't work out then move on because it's bounty hunting

It's true what you say but i think that your advice is not as easy to follow in reality as it sounds now. Just look at all those altcoin bounties. The problem there is, that you can't really know in most cases if you have chosen the right bounty to join until the bounty is over, because most altcoins are not even listed yet while the bounty is ongoing. If you are part of a BTC-paying bounty that has weekly pay-outs than of course it is easier and faster to find out if the bounty is good or not. If you don't receive your payment for a week or two than it's time to investigate and if you don't get satisfying answers than it its probably time to look for another bounty.
2953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You won today, but then you will lose often on: April 25, 2021, 02:44:37 PM
If you want to start gambling or betting or whatever game where real money is involved then what you need most is self discipline. Only use money that you can afford to lose. Let's say you have 200$ that you don't need and you want to try some sports betting with it. You picked your favorite teams but you were unlucky and despite good odds you lost your bets and the money is gone. The worst thing you can do now is to try to make up for that loss by risking more money with the next bet, because you may lose this too and maybe that was already money that you actually needed for you daily needs and is now missing.
So never get carried away. If your budget is gone, wait until you have some spare money again until you place your next bet or you will end up like those sad old dudes that are sitting in front of the gambling machines in the gas stations the whole day long.
2954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH and BSC on: April 25, 2021, 02:35:42 PM
One of the reasons why binance smart chain becomes this big right now is because ethereum gas fee is very high and this force some projects to switch to BSC but what do you think will happen once ethereum gas fee goes lower in near few months? Will BSC faced same fate as binance DEX? Or BSC will remain the better option over ethereum?

It seems like the move from many new and existing projects and therefore users made the ETH network less congested and the ETH gas fees are now down to around 50-60 gwei in the last 2 days. I wonder if this is caused solely by the increasing use of BSC or if some other things also played into this like upgrades from the ETH team or simply less trading and therefore transactions going on. It will be interesting to see in which direction the gas fees will move in the coming days.
2955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GAS fees on the ethereum network are slowly falling on: April 24, 2021, 06:51:15 PM
In recent days I have seen the price of GAS go down. which was above 100 is now starting to get closer to 50. This is very good for the future, what's more, the problem of the high cost of Ethereum transactions has been quite a while. The question is whether this will continue until the gas fees return to normal, or will there be an increase again as transactions become more intense on the ethereum network.

for those of you who want to see the latest GAS prices you can see it at https://ethgasstation.info/

Thank god the days of 200 gwei and more seem to be gone.. at least as of now. At the moment we are at around 55 gwei which means around 3 $ for an ETH transfer, 6$ for an ERC-20 Token transfer and around 15$ for an uniswap trade. I don't really know why the gas fees are dropping at the moment. Maybe because recently a lot of projects and therefore users switched to BSC which reduced the network congestion of ETH. Making a swap is still too expensive in my opinion, because little trades with a volume of 50$ or less just don't make any sense at the moment when you have to pay a third of that amount as gas fees.
2956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on SafeMoon? on: April 24, 2021, 03:36:32 PM
I personally would not touch safemoon especially now that the hype of those meme-coins seems to be over now or at least coming to an end soon. In the last two weeks there were like 5 such meme-projects in the top 10 hot pair of dextools and everyone of those had huge trading volumes. Some people that got in very early in one of those projects made a huge amount of money and of course all those influencers on youtube and twitter that got those coins as payments for their shilling, but i feel very sorry for the "normal" guys that bought into those projects in the last days because i am pretty sure that most of these meme-coins will be dead in a few weeks.
2957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 24, 2021, 03:30:44 PM
I've already placed a bet on Bayern Munich -1 but I'm a little worried, as you know Mainz is at its best recently and whether that good form will continue or not. Because Bayern Munich are confirmed to be champions and that is my concern, maybe Bayern Munich will still win but I hope that the win has high gaps and my concern is Mainz will try so hard to make the final result a draw, who knows.

I wouldn't worry to much about your bet. It is true that mainz is in great shape at the moment and bayern are almost confirmed champions again, but as i said they are not yet officially the champions again and which is even more important in my opinion is the fact that hansi flick leaves bayern after this season. He has a great relationship with his players and i am pretty sure that everyone wants him to be as successful as possible when he leaves. So i expect every bayern player to show full commitment in the last games of the season and i don't expect them to lose any more matches this season.

Well i was completely wrong there  Roll Eyes. I watched every minute of that game and Mainz really deserved to win this one. In the second half they completely dominated bayern and played extremely impressive. They were very aggressive and attacked bayern very early so the 2-0 lead for mainz in the halftime was not even lucky for them. In the second half bayern had close to 80% ball possession but still did not manage to create good chances. The goal from lewandowski was basically a present from a mainz defender but that did not matter anymore because that was already in the 3rd minute of the extra time. I am pretty happy though that Mainz is now pretty much guaranteed to be in the first division next year as well.

2959  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Erc20 tokens send fee on: April 23, 2021, 07:09:34 PM
I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I want to know if there is some way to send erc20 tokens with low fee.
Current gas fee is very high particularly if one has to send too many transactions. Please if someone know any other way to send erc20 tokens with less fee, share with me and I will appreciate it.

You can check the current gas fees at https://www.gasnow.org/ for example. What i like about this site is the fact, that if you scroll down a little bit it also shows you the network fees of ETH in the last 7 days, so you have the possibility to check at what time of the day the gas fees are usually the lowest. For the european timezone that is usually in the morning and from noon on it is usually higher. So if you don't need to make a transaction immediately than you can plan it according to those numbers.
Other than that you can't do much except for waiting for ETH updates or switching to BSC.
2960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 23, 2021, 11:42:22 AM
Hugely important games coming up during this weekend. First we have Wolfsburg - Borussia, followed by Bayer - Eintracht. Wolfsburg would all but confirm their CL qualification with a win, leaving Borussia with minimum chances in the process. Both teams are highly offensive and it should be a great game, especially with such high stakes.

Bayer is catching the last train as well, even with a win they would be still far away from qualification. Eintracht is still ok even if they lose, but with a good result they can potentially get away more from Borussia.

Really a crucial weekend, can't wait for the Wolfsburg-Dortmund game.

Those are really exciting games coming up this weekend with 4 of the competitors for the Championas league positions playing against each other. Wolfsburg has the best positions of those 4 but also the hardest opponent this matchday with dortmund. Eintracht frankfurt is still 4 points ahead of Dortmund but now they have something to lose and the pressure rises from matchday to matchday. They face bayer leverkusen which are 9 Points behind a champions league position so they don't have much to lose anymore and can therefore play without much pressure. So 3 out of those 4 team have to win basically  Smiley that will be interesting.
