Bittrex Message  This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on November 7th unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.2 BTC.

Happy Halloween everyone!
2943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Blocknet-Gate] The inquisition Begins NOW ! on: November 01, 2014, 12:19:39 AM
Well Archcoin seems very similar to MarineCoin, same premise, big boats and living on the sea and very similar writing style from the Dev's. The guys that brought you MarineCoin also did the AsiaCoin premine scam (they used the same forum code) and I bet a bunch of others, possibly Whitecoin among others before people fixed their mess. So many of these are soo similar that it is very likely to be the same people or person but I have no names other than the MarineCoin guy is likely from Turkey.

Hopefully someone will take the time and get CockCoin tested, wouldn't want to get an infection from contact....

Where is the POD!?!?! (Proof of Dick)

Is there anything unique to help layers of protection?

Cryptoasian is taking it right now from one of the priests at his church.

Oh you like Pinkcoin! Maybe they should do a merger with CockCoin and create a new Coin?

I'm not sure how it could be done, maybe we need a visual representation....
2945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New reputation system integration on bitcointalk. Questions for people. on: October 31, 2014, 05:15:56 PM
If you have a marking system, you could buy and build accounts in order to boost your rating so you could get some kind of pool of accounts as a paid marking service to boost rep which is not really any different than it is now.

The point of developing the algorithm is to mitigate things like that. It's one thing to buy ten accounts, but it's another thing to buy ten accounts that have all been active recently and have a enough of a reputation themselves for their markings to be weighted heavily enough to make it worth it.

Also, this isn't meant to be a trust system in the first iterations anyway. Later on with further integrations with trust systems like identi.fi, then maybe. But not yet.

Think of early versions more like reddit karma, but with the added bonus of money. Gaming this type of system at this point shouldn't really have much of an incentive.

I don't think it should have the added bonus of money with it, maybe other incentives? It shouldn't feel like the users are being squeezed for cash or they will quickly leave in droves. I assume it would be more donation based? Where is the source of income coming from? If Bitcointalk had some ad revenue system going on as well maybe they could buy BTC with the ad revenue?

Why not just have a permanent amount of trust in which people can get up/down voted with more weight to senior active members who have been a part of the forums for a long time. If you have an older account that is misusing trust and it gets banned, it takes a long time to get back up to where it was before.

IMO the trust system needs a lot of improvement, maybe it would be good to look into how Silk Road did their trust system too since it worked well in practice.

That looks great, may I suggest the adding the option of sending using minimal coinage? Then you help preserve your oldest inputs with the most coinage.

I will bring it up when I talk to Griffith and see what he thinks about it. The MWC coins will stake after 5 hours, so unless you are sending your coins out a lot, I don't think you will see any difference. But as I said, I will discuss it with him.

The benefits are that you retain more coinage without having to go into coin control and select your oldest inputs so it helps as an added bonus for Staking .
2947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spoetnik Coin on: October 31, 2014, 03:06:34 PM
ya i dunno they may have "cleaned up some of mine too" oh well lol

these scammers are in damage control mode right now so they wandered off and forgot about this topic i guess ?
it's funny i didn't even make a coin yet and they are lining up to pre-FUD my coin ahead of time
and then whining about getting FUD'd on their shitcoin topics.. hypocrites LOL  Roll Eyes

Have you ever checked out some of the stuff I've been working on? I've got mod powers and stuff on the Col forums and I've got something like double the posts there than I do here about lots of various stuff. It is really nice having your own forums cause if people annoy you, you can just delete or ban them, maybe you should set up your own forums or even ask Sudo23 or Heat007 on the Col forums if they would be willing to help build you some forums if you paid them. I don't know how to get in contact with them otherwise, they are pretty identity conscious but good honest people.

You wanna team up in some way? Maybe take over Colossuscoin? I dunno, the code is pretty bad but the forums are big and spacious and has a public section, members section, consul section, shoutbox, newsletter function for global mods and is laid out quite well not to mention it has been run for a full year with no issues or drama's. I'm not sure if something like that is too restrictive but in general Sudo has full control and can limit my powers on the forums but I have more power there than I really want or need but only Sudo can add people to the Development Team section or change peoples user group. Would be great to get the coin back up and running, good name, good rep but lots of struggles with development. Also have about 8-9 promo videos and a few hundred pictures and images, marketing strategies etc.

What do you think about something like that? You did say that in a proper scenario that you should only be working in testnet and projects with your friends and not shoving coins out to market as an experiment.

I'm open to suggestions.

2949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More bad publicity - pay us a million in btc or we spread Ebola on: October 31, 2014, 12:37:46 PM
Doubt this will be the last time people try to extort bitcoins outta people like this.

it seems the time is come for  ebola coin !  Cheesy

Ugh, don't give the alt coin devs any ideas  Grin.

There has already been multiple threads about it, there was a Scrypt Ebolacoin and a few joke threads.

Here is an article about donations for Bitcoin to Sierra Leone to help fund aid workers http://www.coindesk.com/sierra-leone-group-diverts-bitcoin-campaign-fight-ebola/

There are other options as well, the Bitcoin miners could choose to exclude those transactions from the Blockchain as well.
2950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Looking to make a good idea into $1 billion. Serious inquiries only. on: October 31, 2014, 11:57:07 AM
I do not have funding.  I'm kicking around a presale or crowdfund.  I wanted to throw the idea into this forum and see what's left after the wolves have their way.  I would ideally setup an LLC for it first.  The source code would be open but trading would be protected under LLC and actual coins protected in an LP.  But like I said, I wanted some over constructive feedback first.

So you have no funding but you want people to sign your NDA and work for the product they are producing but you have worked on other products where you flake on the project and start a new one? Why not just use coin2.1 that you did before instead of starting a new one, no developer is going to work without being paid in BTC/NBT/FIAT and good luck trying to raise funds on a low activity account. Maybe it would be better to put together an airtight business proposal and take it to Dragon's Den, I'm sure a few corporate big wigs would be interested jumping into the Crypto scene but I doubt they will be as helpful as some of the people on this thread.

2954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which programming language a good developer of crypto-currencies has to know ? on: October 31, 2014, 02:22:15 AM
I think most are written in C++/Qt

Thanks for your answer !
Any other langage, in your opinion ?

Nxt is written in javascript, tends to be a decent starting point if you want something other than c/c++ but I've heard about a lot of hacks and it's so overly complicated. Bitcoin, litecoin and most Proof of Stake coins are written in C/C++ which is just much easier to code with, less buggy.
2955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MULTIWALLET |X11| Multiple Coin Support | MultiShift Anon | Fiat Trading| on: October 31, 2014, 01:40:38 AM
As everybody wants updates in every stage of the development, I will try to do this for the in wallet trading. Feel free to ask questions, comments and sugestions.

This is a screenshot from 28th september 2014. Here you see that we retreive all the trading pairs from the Cryptsy Exchange. We have broken down the API array and the data is inserted in a table in the correct collums. The Cryptsy API is incomplete for our requirments, so we have to make a calculation for the 24HR % change, also the BID and ASK collums need to be retreived from an other Cryptsy API, then they need to be matched with the ones in the table.

This is a screenshot from 30th september 2014. We have changed the code, added a filter that reads the array and then will put the trading pair in the right tab. There are now 4 tabs in the Cryptsy Lay-out for the 4 different markets available on Cryptsy and the data is in the right place.

Screenshots in higher resolution are here: http://imgur.com/a/o82ET#0

^ wtf

i reported him and left him a negative trust rating.

i knew i should have self modded this.. no surprise people kids act like a baby around here  Roll Eyes
crypto needs age limits.. we shouldn't have 12 yr old's running financial markets in all aspects with no regulation.

I reported him too, mods deleted some of my posts too cause I guess I made some unfunny jokes? Maybe you don't like me posting, I can live with that but this is my favorite thread right now and I'm actually trying to contribute to it unlike most of the rest here. If you self moderated the thread then the same kids are going to go around saying you deleted all their posts and FUD about it.

Edit: Maybe you could have a moderated thread as well?
2957  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spoetnik Coin on: October 30, 2014, 09:49:51 PM
@Unbelive
I hear what your saying but i would not use my name for the coin i think.. i never really liked that idea.
but your comment would still make sense if i used my name and infamy around here as being an "evil troll" etc to hype up a coin.
so i get what your saying i really do and i appreciate your showing some intelligence here and not just blindly trusting any of us.

sure i'd like to be trusted but i advise you guys not trust me either.. i have always said i would sell out probably.
but would i get the opportunity and what kind would it be ? how tempting would it be ? I think we ALL have a price !!!
Like if some guy came along and said hey Spoetnik gimme your forum account for 100k usd in Bitcoin right now.. i'd say where do i send the password ? deal !! LOL

I hope to be judged on my actions and my track record.

@silvermetal
WOW you don't give up do you ?
Do really need to keep spamming my topic here about that guy ?

@Spoetnik

How do you think it could be done where a person has their own coins but limited influence over the funds of the network? Let's be realistic here, everyone plans to sell some coins at some point but then what ways do you think would be best so that a person is guaranteed that they cannot get more than what they own themselves?

For me, I'm all about POS because POW will always create sell pressure on the markets no matter how low the reward so it's simply better not to have it at all. With POS only, all blocks of transactions work like miners on the network, gathering coinage into each of the block until it gathers enough coinage in order to be selected to Stake on the network. Difficulty re targeting then matters alot depending on what your minimum/maximum coinage is along with fees to either be collected or destroyed through stake.

If fees were higher and paid through Stake, then Stakers are paid interest, plus fees of the network that it would be more lucrative to Stake at a lower inflation so it encourages people to Stake their coins. The thing is though that if you have POS only with which you pay fees through Stake is that you can destroy a large portion of coins in one block and have them collected by whoever Stakes the next block, so then does that represent a security hole?

What about if with something like that you could have a massive block of fees destroyed and compensates the entire network evenly over time? Like if say if a bunch of coins are dumped into a tx fee (settxfee) that it adds into the block reward over a month or so, it would work like a share giveback so that when you build infrastructure and transactions increase, so does the rewards. The question would be how to do it properly, possibly fees could be destroyed and then the stake re targets to pay out over time like a floating point number?

Within a PoS network, Exchanges represent one of the largest challenges to overcome as well, the strength of a PoS network rests on reducing the barrier for people to stake their coins over a short period and guarding against exchanges Staking and selling coins and malicious behaviour

I can't say I have all the answers but I am confident that POW is NOT the answer.
2958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spoetnik Coin on: October 30, 2014, 07:27:35 PM
Need an icon set? Hal style!

Edit: Yes I made these icons along with the logo I last posted since you asked about it before but I like SZZT's logo more than the one I made, much cleaner (and cooler).

2959  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spoetnik Coin on: October 30, 2014, 05:45:30 AM
@Spoetnik

In terms of adoption I don't see how it could fail, what are you thinking in terms of algo's, rewards, etc.

Here's a little logo pic as well

You deserve a proper reply for this Wink

I am impressed if you made it eh well done you have some skill !

And i want to add that i have been tied up with attacks here as you can see which derailed the ability for me to talk about REAL coins ideas Sad
Clearly these other pricks came simply to line up in a long line and take turns having a jab at me.. reminds me of a Family Guy skit/cut away LOL

I don't want to throw my idea on the table in full yet but it would most likely involve re branding and theming of an existing coin rather than a new one.
Why ?
To attract more NEW users to crypto !
Plus it would be fun (with my trade mark sick humor) and maybe we could make some profit with it all too.. bonus Smiley
And it would not revolve around my name or identity !

Yeah I think that may be your biggest challenge, keeping the trolls at bay while trying to get work done on it. I've been through a few copies of prototype proof of stake coins myself so I'd like to help you where I can as well. How much do you know about Proof of Stake? I was thinking about pos, with low inflation but a big emphasis on fee sharing through Proof of Stake. TBH, nxt freaks me out, so complicated and so many hacks.

What about some kind of open building challenge of building a hypothetical coin and what it would have and then narrow it down to the basics and work with that?

Yeah you could fork a Blockchain to change the name, it's rewards etc. like hyperstake did except you would want to have a predictable supply over time.
2960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MULTIWALLET |X11| Multiple Coin Support | MultiShift Anon | Fiat Trading| on: October 30, 2014, 04:03:29 AM
no we take all ideas onboard ofcource we do
but we do not accept the notion that just because you bought
into a project you have some right to expect your suggestions to be accepted.
Besides consider this how do you know that we have already thought about or
even adopted some of cressingtons ideas before he even suggested them??

On the contrary his final remarks let meknow all that I care to know or comment
about this issue any further
" There is just not enough give and take for me to be invested (plus I am going to Vegas in a couple weeks and need the extra cash)"

Considering that every foundation member is working for the community for free,
and we ourselves are invested to a higher amount than that of whihc cresington speaks volumes
not just rhetoric.

P.S. even if we needed to go to vegas and needed extra cash we would not sell coins into the market
we have already stated this, surely you can see the difference here?

Surely??

I'm hoping someone will want a larger portion of the Coin (just shy of 2%), you have honest and hardworking Developers on this Coin which is a true rarity around these parts. You have multi-shift technology for anonymous transactions and a very efficient Blockchain.
