2941  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New ASIC or BFL mini rig please explain? on: July 29, 2012, 10:59:30 AM
Here

http://www.butterflylabs.com/products/

The Single and the Mini Rig are FPGA devices, they are a bit expensive but their energy consumption is much lower than using GPU and they were released months ago.

and then we have the preorder list "BitForce ‘SC’ Pre Orders". These are the ASIC devices. They will be released like in october/december (at least, that's what BFL said...)
Their performance? They are ASIC, no FPGA. Look at the "Single 'SC'", for only 1299$ you buy a device wich do 40GH/s. Yes, 40GH/s, yes for only 1299$
2942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Total Global Combined Electricity Cost of Bitcoin? on: July 29, 2012, 10:54:19 AM
one year later, how are you guys feeling about bitcoin's electrical consumption?
Same difficulty as august 2011 but now some ppl use FPGA->energy consumption went down
2943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your cryptocoins were stolen and you called the police? WTF? Are you serious? on: July 29, 2012, 10:53:19 AM
People still don't completely understand what cryptocoins are. They were created out of any government control (even against it) but ex-owners of stolen coins expect to get support of a government. But it has no sense!

I wasn't happy to read about recent Bitcoinica hack. Of coz, victims should ask the police for help to return money, but ONLY FIAT MONEY. Noone ought to mention bitcoins, coz every user of cryptocoins should understand that they outside the law. I pay taxes and I don't want them to be spent for salary of a police officer who investigates a case related to cryptocoins.

I don't know English good enough to explain very sophisticated ideas, but I hope u got me.
Nonsense

We pay TAXES wich also serve for the police service. So yes, if someone steal something from you, you should call the police because you know, you pay TAXES for that.

At the moment, this system is outside governmental control, and the risk is unknown.
Uuuhh... it's outside governmental control  Shocked

The system is virtual and the american government has signalized that they want to remove this system before naive and gullible users become too involved. For such a system to work, it needs a 'rich' sponsor.
Yeah sure sure  Cheesy

and i don't get the "rich sponsor" thing...  Huh

2951  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin - Magic Computer Money on: July 24, 2012, 11:12:54 AM
I'm glad you are brainstorming, but... You expect people to have blind trust in something you introduce to them as "magic"?  And it involves money? I certainly hope you forget about this idea for a while, then reconsider.
Ehi, apple called their thing MAGICAL and it worked very well

so we can do the same

and rename Bitcoin to iBitcoin, success guaranted  Tongue

2954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dwolla's SSL certificate has been revoked on: July 22, 2012, 07:48:47 PM
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I believe this is The Powers That Be (TPTB) using their influence at Verisign to interfere with bitcoin.

A few months ago, I have had similar problems with Firefox telling me that the certificates were not valid on the Intersango, Mt Gox, and btc-e.com.

Even today, my android phone will not let me use MtGox Mobile app due to some problem with the certificate.

IMO TPTB use certificates authorities and anti-virus software like Norton to implement a casual form of website blacklisting.
Stay calm, here is the solution about the certificates problem http://perspectives-project.org/

2958  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you had time machine, would you go back and kill Hitler or buy bitcoins? on: July 21, 2012, 07:33:03 PM
This is scientific research on human nature, please answer truthfully. You are in position to prevent ~56 million deaths and spare suffering to hundreds of millions human beings, or make yourself unbelievably rich. No cheating, you can use machine only once (and come back), you cannot go back, kill Hitler and send yourself note into the future to buy bitcoins.
What if by killing hitler you delay world war 2 by like 10 or 20 years and then it start with nuclear weapons? It will be much much worse
