2941  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - 🦉 DRAKE x STAKE 🥩 - Watford FC & UFC Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: April 19, 2022, 08:14:50 AM
well i don't want to create any kind of spam in this thread but i was curious, have you thought if stake.com will continue to sponsor watford if they are relegated? and in case they are relegated and they are not sponsored by the stake who will be another team that the stake can sponsor? I'm just curious

Good question in fact and I just did some research on Google and Stake has a multi-year sponsorship with Watford. It will be a huge blow if Watford would already relegate after they just promoted to Premier League, but maybe Stake can give up the sponsorship if they relegate...
https://www.watfordfc.com/news/club/official-watford-fc-stakecom-announce-new-multi-year-principal-partnership#:~:text=Watford%20today%20announced%20a%20new,return%20to%20the%20Premier%20League.

I think Stake.com has signed a contract with Watford, so they will still have to honor that agreement..even if Watford was relegated. I watched Eddie's (co-owner of Stake) streaming session a few weeks ago and he said that they will just have two sponsorship deals, if Watford was relegated.

They will just sign a deal with another team and still honor their contract with Watford, even if they are not playing in the Premier league. (The new deal might just include a clause to address the issue, if that new team gets relegated)  Huh
2942  Economy / Gambling / Re: Question for regular casino players. Will you use Lightning if available? on: April 19, 2022, 08:05:15 AM
I think the reason why people are using the Lightning Network and not legacy Bitcoin or even SegWit is the transaction speed and also the cost of the transactions. Do you really need almost instant transactions and very cheap fees for casino deposits?

I think the people that will use it, will be the gambling degens, because those people cannot wait for deposits to be verified. Most of those people switched to LTC and XRP for the fast transaction speed and low fees. The majority of the people does not want to use Bitcoin (BTC), because of the price volatility AND the potential to make large profits in the future.  Roll Eyes

Will I use it, if it is available...... sure... depending on the circumstances.  Wink
2943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no intrinsic value on: April 19, 2022, 07:52:47 AM
"In finance, the intrinsic value of an asset usually refers to a value calculated on simplified assumptions. For example, the intrinsic value of an option is based on the current market value of the underlying instrument, but ignores the possibility of future fluctuations and the time value of money." - Source : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intrinsic_value_(finance)

Now let's make examples of other digital things that has value : Skins and add-ons in Online Games like Counter-Strike. (People pay $10 000 for a unique skin for their 9mm) / Virtual property in the Metaverse has market value, because there are a market for it.

You do not have to touch something ..for it to have value.  Wink
2944  Economy / Economics / Re: Sri Lanka defaults on its $51 billion external debt on: April 18, 2022, 11:44:42 AM
that's  right after they've commited sanctions over russia. It was a nice move

You are obviously a Russian, (Alexey).. and wants to put the blame for everything on the sanctions that was imposed on your country. You should blame Putin for his war mongering and the repercussions of his decisions to invade the Ukraine. The default on the debt has nothing to do with the sanctions that Sri Lanka implemented against Russia. (Most countries do this because they do not support WAR and if there was an aggressor against Russia, then Sri Lanka would have supported Russia)

The main reason for their economic hardship is the lack of tourist income for over 2 years. This will continue for many years, because people are afraid to travel and those who are not vaccinated cannot travel to other countries.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
2945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC in the Eye of the Storm, According to Glassnode Co-Founders – Here's why ! on: April 18, 2022, 09:41:20 AM
So has anyone even thought that the reason for the out flow of coins on exchanges, has something to do with the possible increase in legislation on "centralized" Exchanges? Why should "Whales" keep their coins on Exchanges, if the governments of the world are closing "Russian" wallets in Banks and on Crypto Exchanges? (It just shows us.... why Exchanges are not a good place to deposit your coins)

I think a lot of people opened their eyes after the Russian sanctions exposed the weakness of centralized Exchanges and wallet providers. They now know that if you are not in control of your Private keys.... you do not own those coins.  Wink

2946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Research; The use of Crypto currencies for cyber laundering on: April 17, 2022, 09:02:42 PM
The truth is.....

Fiat money laundering are a lot more than Crypto laundering, because criminals do not have to worry about Blockchain forensics and modern technology that can be used to trace their criminal actions. A lot of these criminals are not technologically ready for the possible "honey traps" that might be used by the secret agencies to catch them.  Wink

It is still much easier to launder money through the "tried and tested" old Fiat money laundering techniques. Syndicates have infiltrated the Banking system and they are using the Banking system to launder money for them.

"Banks and other financial institutions are used by criminals to launder their ill-gotten gains. Banking institutions are preferred money laundering tools for criminals because they offer a variety of financial services, including foreign exchange, deposits, cash transfers, and loans." - Source : https://www.renolon.com/money-laundering-statistics/
2947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Still Supporting And Playing On Newly Launch Casinos on: April 17, 2022, 08:57:28 AM
I will try a new casino, if they offer something that other casinos are not offering me. It is very rare to find a new casino that are offering something unique or something that the old casinos have not done before.

The new casinos can offer VERY low RTP for instance.... but you might find that they have very strict withdrawal requirements or very low minimum bets. There are also a risk that the new casino might just be a scam site and that they might never pay out your winnings. (White label casinos are very cheap these days)  Roll Eyes
2948  Other / Off-topic / Re: Big Project, looking for an investor on: April 17, 2022, 08:51:49 AM
You are acting like a scammer .... dumping old accounts ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5380738.0 ) and making new accounts. People look at your post history to see what your track record is and they also look at your "trust" rating. When you jump between accounts, it is indicative of someone trying to hide their past.  Roll Eyes

In any way, you will have a lot more success if people could "invest"  Roll Eyes smaller amounts and then once you prove that they will be getting a return on their investment..... they might invest more. (Also called the long Con)  Angry  (This way... people can flag you, if you are a scammer)
2949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Scalability, Why Top Crypto exchanges Have not Integrated LN Network on: April 16, 2022, 07:27:11 PM
Exchanges are not influenced by slow transactions and high fees, because most of their transactions are done within their local database and when you withdraw coins from the exchange, they add a little extra fees on top of the actual fees.. to make more profit.  Roll Eyes

Also, not a lot of people are converting to the Lightning Network due to it's complexity and Bitcoin (SegWit) is fast enough for most people. Exchanges wants to make profit and the Lightning Network are not a money spinner. (I also think they are not too sold on the security and stability)  Wink
2950  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - 🦉 DRAKE x STAKE 🥩 - Watford FC & UFC Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: April 16, 2022, 11:21:04 AM
I think something was mentioned in the email for the Monthly, but I do not get that email anymore.. so someone else might be able to shed some light on that. I see people talking about "Monthly" in the chat and then I have to ask "Support" to give me the link for the Monthly... or I will not get it.

I do get the email for the "Statistics" when I manually request it, but Support says that is something else. So I know it is not something that are blocked from my Service provider, because those emails goes through.  Roll Eyes
You could try to change your email, use another email and you could maybe get it again? Or maybe check the spam folder which I am 99.99% sure that you have already done that but I just wanted to make sure that you did everything. Obviously you are not going to get something that is a cheap and quick answer from anyone, it is not really a simple solution.

We are still getting it, I still get it, this month we got it on April first as well, and it is really cool, so I do not know why you didn't get anything. Support is the only place that could give you a real answer, do not ask them to give you the link, ask them to actually solve this problem so you could get mails again.

Nah... Support said something about logging a "email change" request, but I have not done that yet. I do not want to use another email address, because I use this one for all the non work related things.  Roll Eyes

I try to keep my "Work" email as clean as possible, so that I do not miss important work related emails and I do not want to have 20 different web based email addresses ..and have to login to each of them on a constant basis.  Roll Eyes
2951  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-03-23]Thailand Bans Use of Cryptocurrencies as a Method of Payment on: April 16, 2022, 11:02:56 AM
I quote  ==> "The SEC said it decided to regulate and control the use of digital assets after discussing the "risks and benefits" with the Bank of Thailand, the central bank, according to a statement Wednesday. The risks cited include losses from price volatility, cybertheft and money laundering."

It just shows you who are controlling the governments and the politicians of this world. Satoshi Nakamoto saw how much control Banks had over the government and Satoshi created this technology to provide people with an alternative when those Banks eventually fail. You can only bail out Banks with tax payers money for a while, until the tax payers gets fed up with that... and then those governments will go down.  Wink  (Not by force, but by votes)
2952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Fiat Will Always Be The Norm on: April 16, 2022, 09:58:23 AM
I compare the "Fiat System" to Cholesterol..... because it is the "Silent killer" of the financial world. Most people are clueless of the repercussions of "Inflation" and "hyper-inflation" ....until it happens. The few informed people are seen as "Doomsday" crazies and the warning that they give, goes unnoticed.. until it is too late.

Bitcoin can actually repair the financial world, by introducing a monetary system that are not based on infinite money printing. It will cause a ripple in the Pond that will have far reaching consequences for the global economy.  Roll Eyes
2953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin network will soon become more centralized on: April 15, 2022, 11:24:23 AM
I think this phenomenon is not just happening with Bitcoin mining.... because we see this with a lot of industries where "Fiat" rich companies start to dominate and eventually take over all the smaller companies. (Take Maize farming in the USA as an example)  Roll Eyes

As long as the hashrate stay relatively low and the difficulty makes it economical for the small operations to still continue mining, you will have decentralization, but when the hashrate increase drastically.... the increased difficulty will make it uneconomical for the solo miners to continue.  Angry
2954  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk makes offer to buy Twitter on: April 15, 2022, 10:27:16 AM
I think the "reconsidering of his shareholding" has more to do with the fact that he realized that he cannot influence the Twitter board with only a 10% of the total shares and that he cannot be on the board and have more than 10% of the shares. So he said, he does not want to be on the Board, so that he can buy more shares.

Even if he has more than 10% of the shares, he will still not influence the Board to make huge changes to the platform. I cannot see why he cannot hire skilled developers to create a "Twitter" like platform, where he has the majority shares and most of the power to steer his visions for that platform. (The guy took on NASA and won.... why not large social media platforms?) Huh
2955  Economy / Gambling / Re: Video Course of BlackJack for people who want to learn BlackJack on: April 15, 2022, 09:33:37 AM
Well, I do not know if any newbie will be willing to go through 8 Seasons of videos, just to learn how to play BlackJack.  Roll Eyes It is quite intimidating for people to see that it takes 32 videos for people to learn how to play BlackJack, but fortunately it is not very long videos.  Wink

I have to say OP, it is actually a gem of a site with a lot of very good content for some beginners. I will give you some merit for giving us this site, because it will help some to get some betters odds to play longer, even though we know... "The house always wins"  Roll Eyes

The Esther holidays are here and we are waiting to see the stake.com Esther bonus as the admin promised earlier I hope other stake customers is as anxious as me to use that bonus to play many games over this holiday period.

When was this promised?

2957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] George Kambosos vs Devin Haney - Undisputed Lightweight Title - June 5 on: April 14, 2022, 07:33:38 PM
Well this one is going to be one of the biggest fights this year, because it will determine who the Undisputed Lightweight Champion of the World will be.  Grin
Kambosos rekon he is more than ready for the fight and he will ruin his opponents career with this fight.  Roll Eyes

He is mocking with Haney’s stuttering ..as if that has anything to do with his fighting skills.... so I hope Devin Haney kicks Kambosos's ass in this fight, because it is not cool to make fun of someone else's speech impediment.  Angry
2958  Economy / Gambling / Re: Watching Our Kids From Something That Could Dangerous To Them on: April 14, 2022, 02:56:25 PM
This has been a discussion for ages!

I had a similar situation with a few of my friends.... They constantly played "Police Man" with their kids and scrutinized everything they do... They were not allowed to be unsupervised on their phones and the parents inspected their phones on a regular basis.

Guess what happened.... They managed to buy burner phones from friends and did all the wrong things on those phones. (the friends kept the phones for them, when they are not at home)

The same kids left their home at the age of 18.... and one of them are now an alcoholic and the other one are addicted to porn and gambling. They could not wait to get out of the house to get their freedom... and once they got it... they went overboard with everything.  Roll Eyes
2959  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk - Hinted that it would be nice if Twitter Ads be paid in Bitcoin on: April 14, 2022, 02:40:56 PM
Did he really talked about Bitcoin? I saw some of his tweets after acquiring more than 10% of Twitter stocks on that day especially about the freedom of speech because he feel that twitter is more censored now and works against the freedom of speech also he mentioned about that we are moving to new social media if the same trend followed when it comes to the freedom of speech from its user. But I guess he is just saying not very serious because the same man announced that Tesla no longer accepting bitcoins few months back.

I think you have to look at the bigger picture, because one man cannot change legislation and regulations in a large country like the USA. The different States within the USA have different laws and regulations.. but the one thing that has not been approved... are that Bitcoin or any other Crypto currency are approved as legal tender.

So even if Elon Musk wants Twitter advertisers to pay in Bitcoin, he has to get past the current legislation ...and the current laws does not allow for Bitcoin to be a currency. (They might do this through Payment processors, if they allow for that)  Roll Eyes
2960  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New York imposes a permit for Crypto companies on: April 14, 2022, 02:27:50 PM
This is nothing new...

The license was introduced and designed by Benjamin Lawsky, New York's first Superintendent of Financial Services, in July 2014. He made this application for the BitLicense so complex that it was almost impossible for businesses to apply for it, without "consultant" assistance. Guess what happened next.... he joined a consultant firm that charged people to help them with the applications for the BitLicense.  Angry

The BitLicense was created for two reasons... He wanted to create a complex application process to enable a situation where there was a barrier to entry to slow Bitcoin down and he knew he wanted a back door job, if he was not elected as the Superintendent of Financial Services again.  Angry Angry Angry
