2941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 31, 2017, 04:44:51 AM
I am trying to send Blackbytes GBB [...]

I don't know if this is an issue for you or not, but I know you have to have some byteballs in your balance to send your blackbytes.

Sending blackbytes comes with a 'bytes' fee?

Perhaps a good time to put something back into Gulden.
2943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: August 30, 2017, 01:39:05 PM
The devs should just stop the faucet and burn the remaining supply.

Would solve the headache of all these stupid third world beggars who think Clemahieu owes them a living.'

Also it would allows the devs on releasing a proper wallet that works.

The weak link is the XRB wallet.

Or lock up part of these funds for funding wallet and mobile wallet development / PR activities. Better use that the beggar faucet.
2944  Economy / Speculation / Re: BETI: Bitcoin Exponential Trend Index and technical analysis on: August 30, 2017, 08:49:13 AM

EDIT: I'd say it's the START of the bubble

Exactly. The high price of $30,000+ aligns to the 'moon shot' theory of MasterLuc and fits the theory of J-curves in cryptocurrencies: https://medium.com/@cburniske/the-crypto-j-curve-be5fdddafa26

Good change that current utility value of cryptocurrencies and speculation value are converging again right now for a big J-Curve upwards towards the 1.87 BETI high.

Did a small write up on TenX: https://steemit.com/tenx/@wekkel/the-tenx-play

Masterluc's parabolic spoke to $30,000-40,000 is slowly developing.

Spike to $4,800 imminent?

But i ask you, which coin will you use in 3 years from now to buy coffee?

I think it will still be a TenX type of solution. But my money is on IOTA. If only the transfers would be instant and 100% working. Otherwise, a less decentralised but 100% speed and foolproof system should have become in vogue (a bitUSD from the BitShares platform/Byteball?).
2949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: August 29, 2017, 06:22:09 AM
Too bad the faucet is working again: good quality XRB talk is lost again in lieu of faucet whiners.
2950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TenX [ICO] end of June: making Blockchain assets spendable on: August 29, 2017, 06:12:24 AM
Physical card issue seems to be the biggest bottleneck right now.
2951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: August 28, 2017, 08:19:29 PM
O Lord, the faucet comes back online and we have the faucet whiners back again  Grin

If the faucet is worth your time, I am happy that it gives you some financial slack in this dog-eat-dog world.
If the faucet is not worth your time (won't take much to reach this point; the faucet economics is really for beggars), stop whining about the faucet, just buy XRB and do valuable stuff with your time.

Respect for the dev enduring all this negativity.

Depends on your whereabouts.
2953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: August 28, 2017, 05:04:11 PM
I think Byteball needs a real life purpose:
- token attached to chat (young people?): then the chat function should be core and have features like Telegram, Snapchat, WhatsApp
- commerce (perhaps in combination with TenX type of solutions): only advantage I see now is low fees currently and free of Blockchain bloat. But blockchain bloat does not concern average users and it is too tinly spread out and unknown. And it is not accessible to third party witnesses/miners very much (=centralised)
- black bytes: a good angle is privacy coins or black coins (whatever you call this particular type of coins). Byteball scores in terms of having white and black in one wallet. But downside is that these are 2 types of coins with each their own markets/pricing. And sending black bytes takes some efforts (devices have to be joined first) so the privacy between the transacting parties is not so private.
- private assets: great idea but the implementation has some issues (see: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@wekkel/byteball-create-your-own-tokens). Waves offers simple asset creation as well (have not tried this BTW) so it is not without issues and not unique.

So what do we have:
- a lovely wallet (derived from an open source Bitcoin Wallet I understand)
- interesting tech (DAG, private assets, black bytes, chat room)
- but none of these features decisive or done 100% right

For now, only the transactional part (bytes) seems to be a really strong point. But competition in this field is fierce (newest contender is HCash) and there is every reason to think that the concept of no fees (IOTA, RaiBlocks) will win out if payment speed and reliability are solved. For the rest, there is Bitcoin and Monero/Dash.

I think some hard choices should be made.
2954  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 28, 2017, 04:39:15 PM
Torque, what would be the purpose of that? What kind of coins DO they promote?
2955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: August 28, 2017, 04:31:04 PM
XRB gets some good attention now. This would be a great moment to start working on a mobile wallet on android and iOS.
2956  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 28, 2017, 04:26:43 PM
Oh snap, gold just forcefully broke through 1300 resistance. Shits going down.

Translation:  a price point arbitrarily picked by PM authors gets crushed and nothing changes in the overall state of affairs. FUD sells.

Nothing personal but I see this mechanism being played out since 2005 when I got interested in financial markets.

Afrikoin, are you becoming bullish?
2958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: August 28, 2017, 10:56:17 AM
Byteballers are angry people.

I am not an angry person  Cheesy
2959  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: August 28, 2017, 10:02:52 AM
I have tried the android application available on the playstore. it is a joke in term of security.
Some users even complain about missing tokens with a balance equal to zero, quite the lottery.

I will not put anything more than 10 bucks on it until it is more secure.

The wallet works fine. Used it for some ping pong transaction between it and the desktop client. It now has a simple password logging system so the seed only has to be entered once.
