2941  Other / Archival / Re: Mining Slots for Genesis Mining on: January 04, 2023, 02:02:28 AM
Cloud mining is well known for being an unprofitable business format, which unfortunatelly was very popular until some years ago, when people really thought they could have a lifetime income from sites such as Genesis Mining and similars, including the ponzi schemes promoted as cloud minings, although they didn't involve any kind of mining operations.

OP, if you invested in this business, you have already lost money, because you will never be able to hit ROI, since income is progressively decreasing within time. So, why to pass this loss ahead to someone else? Maybe to dilute your own losses this way? That is not good...
2942  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is hodling top 10 Marketcap coins a good tactic? on: January 04, 2023, 01:09:28 AM
it isnt really bad to bag off the current top #10 ranking coins in the market which it might be resulting into much better profits on the time that the market would be making out some bull runs but
you should really make yourself believe nor being sure that it would happen. No one would be able to point out on what would happen in future years to come. If you do see that this one would be a good tactive
then its up to yours whether you would be taking such action or not.Just make it sure that you are really be able to bare up with the risk for whatever decisions you would be taking.
As we can see by OP's post, it's really risky to invest in top 10 cryptocurrencies, with bitcoin and one or another exception, because along the years the top 10 changes constantly, and some cryptocurrencies which were at the top simply melt. By looking previous years' top 10s, I don't even know what some of those altcoins there are. So why to risk so much on them, while we have a safe bet on the top all these years, that is bitcoin? For me that is the most reasonable decision to take. There is no reason to be greedier, since the profits bitcoin can generate us are already pretty considerable, surpassing the potential of any other investment category outside crypto industry.
2943  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why everybody is panicking ? Its a game of greed and fear ! on: January 04, 2023, 12:39:37 AM
The things that are happening in the world have their repercussions on the market and that is something very obvious, each person has a way of analyzing the market, but they have to take into account that great investors are human, and they are very susceptible, that They only allow themselves to be driven by panic many times to lose the value of their money, that is why when there are great threats of war or something like that, the prices go down, because investors sell their crypto and take their money and put it in in gold or in a stock that is quite safe, that usually happens most of the time in any speculative market, it is something that is common.
Something that intrigues me is that during Covid pandemic we had bitcoin on its best moment, the ATH of 2021, although people said the pandemic was harmful to bitcoin, as it was affecting the global economy negatively. Now the world has a war, and bitcoin isn't doing well, but if we followed that same logic of the pandemic, bitcoin should be doing great at this time, also because bitcoin should be a smart way to transact money from foreigner countries to Ukraine and Russia, in order to sponsor the nations. At same time, bitcoin would be an useful tool for ukrainian and russian billionaires and millionaires to move their funds abroad. And it's not happening.

Maybe you are right and they went fully into gold and stable stocks. But then, I ask myself again, why wasn't this same logic used during the pandemic? Huh
2944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba inu on: January 04, 2023, 12:24:42 AM
Many people call Shiba Inu a scam, but it cannot be denied that many people have made super high profits by investing in it. In some meme coins, Shiba Inu is successful. Investing is risky, and it is normal if you lose your money in the investment market. Be sure to adjust your mentality.
From June 16, 2022:

Almost 81% of Shiba Inu Investors are at Loss, Indicates Analysis

Shiba Inu price taken into consideration on that time: US$0.000007616. It's not too different from the currently price, which stays around $0.000008131.

SHIB has been doing poorly and leading most investors into major losses, what isn't a surprise due to the large supply of tokens in the market, what will possibly make it harder for SHIB to recover even during a positive season of crypto market that may happen in the upcoming years.

That's a long wait for the trial, SBF's camp will already formulate how to get out of this mess by that time.
And also, they may resolve this silently, this will be unfortunate for all those users who lost their funds from this exchange.
It will be a long trial and I don't think SBF will return the money to its users. It will be another sad reality in crypto business.
I was really thinking that SBF was on the level of Vitalik/CZ when it comes to business/technology mindset, seems very far from both of them.
Huge legal cases like this take time. Even if the court date would be set, it's only the first day. This could take years for all we know. As far as i know Bitfinex hack trial isn't over either and it started ages ago. There's lots to prove and SBF's dad is a lawyer so he is most likely prepping him daily now no make it harder for them to prove anything.

SBF would need to be very stupid to hide any money now, as he might even avoid jail if that money is found and play i am just a dumb kid card. Which he seem to have done for a while now.
Not only that, but SBF has direct contact with the White House. His mother is also a lawyer and worked for Biden's campaign. SBF was also one of his biggest donors to Biden's campaign in 2020, or to be more accurate, FTX's customers were. Considering how close he is to powerful people in USA, I think it's possible he escapes from jail, doesn't matter how bad the situation looks for him and how foolish he continues acting. On the other hand, I really hope this scammer is punished accordingly with the crime he perpetrated, all his roots are discovered and exposed to the public, while customers receive at least part of their money back.
2946  Economy / Economics / Re: Your way of living the wage what you need to live normal life on: January 03, 2023, 06:55:35 PM
An example of a successful planned economy could be israel. While an example of an unsuccessful implementation might be the USSR. Results can vary depending on culture and a variety of factors.
Sometimes I think a measure like prices control would be efficient to fight private initiative cartels, but at same time I fear a centralization of more power in the government's hands could lead the country to more misery yet, as businessmen and entrepreneurs wouldn't feel confortable to invest and work in the country anymore.

After all, I think it's more about the nature and character of the people of a country than the political and administrative measures adopted. An honest, transparent, friendly and supportive society will work with or without prices control. While a problematic society won't work with or without the same measures.
2947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 14 years ago today, the first Bitcoin was mined. on: January 03, 2023, 06:13:05 PM
Bitcoin ages like wine and maintains its excellency during all these 14 years of existence. I have only to be thankful to Mr. Satoshi for creating and launching the cryptocurrency which revolutionized the world of finances, giving common people from the entire world the opportunity to transact money online without paying abusive taxes to banks and online payment platforms, besides being a powerful investment tool against the devalued fiat currencies we have access in our native countries. Happy 14 years old birthday, BTCitcoin! The best is yet to come!
2948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Excessive greed is detrimental to investment on: January 03, 2023, 05:44:30 PM
I would not only invest in BTC, but only in some other strong altcoins such as ETH or BNB. The problem always is that you will start to get greedy when you start getting profit. You see the price of the coin rises and will always want more and more and than it can be too late. You can partially sovle that with setting sell orders at certain limit prices.
Yes, investors are used to always want a little more. When they see a currency is rising, they tend to avoid selling, because they want to benefit themselves from the maximum potential that currency can offer them at that currently moment. They prefer to put the entire investment at risk for a potential extra 5%, 10% profit, which may never happen, as once the positive trend ceases, a sudden and deep crash is possible in a matter of few minutes, sometimes. That is what we call a bear trap, and it's not that unusual to happen in crypto market.
2949  Economy / Economics / Re: The Taste of an Economic Downturn on: January 03, 2023, 05:32:19 PM
I wonder, especially in other countries, how drastic is the change in your daily life that's brought about by this economic downturn?
The worst part are the changes in the emotional side of people. It's terrible to compare previous years and conclude your life quality is decaying. For us, human beings, it's not normal to decay, since we are constantly fighting to thrive and prosper in every aspects. Then we see people sad, angry, bored, annoyed, hopeless. The incidency of conflicts between each other and mental diseases increase considerably.
With time we need to progress, for which the human living standard is getting downturn. In my country we've got a saying we should know to live in all conditions. When you're in good wealth you should know how to live, same is when you're left without anything. Right now this should be a learning for us to keep ourselves prepared to experience any sort of situation and lead a better life.
That is true. We have to be prepared for every kinds of situations in life, although it's easier said than done. The currently downturn in living standards has to be seen as a challenge to be overcome, instead of a sentence, as most of us see it nowadays. I believe that is how we can find strength in ourselves to continue living with will and energy against all the adversities daily life impose to us.

Despite prices skyrocketing at supermarkets and services getting more expensive, it's still possible to build superior income if we seek for it, through a process of improving ourselves as professionals for the job market.

2951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys bet on sports or casinos more? on: January 02, 2023, 11:24:41 PM
Both are good and entertaining depending your personal moment. I can't choose one or another, because when I get bored of one category of gambling, I'm going for the another one. Since I'm disappointed with some sports bets I've made, I won't put this category in a superior status when compared to casino games. Luck has been inevitable in every forms of gambling, so it really doesn't make sense for me to say sports betting is being more advantageous than casino games. The important is to enjoy your gambling session, being it at sports, while you watch the matches you are wagering on, or being at casinos, while you play some games and configure the odds as you wish in real time.
2952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: According To me Ethereum Looks Weak on: January 02, 2023, 10:30:16 PM
(....)
Let's see what will happen with Ethereum in coming days. I am waiting to buy Ethereum at 500-700 dollars Rnage when it will come.
Seems during these days and the price level of a high market cap cryptocurrency just like Ethereum and Bitcoin, expect that Ethereum will also follow Bitcoin. So if Ethereum will reach $1,000 or below level, I expect Bitcoin will drop also $10,000 or below.
These are all possible, especially since we already experienced the $1,000 and below of Ethereum last June 2022. I believe we will test it again this year.
Indeed, Ethereum is following Bitcoin trend at this beginning of 2023. Both currencies are stable, while presenting a slight increasement in price, which may touch their resistance levels respectively, if the tendency continues smoothly on this direction.

I don't see why ETH looks weak right now. It's behaving like bitcoin, and it doesn't mean bitcoin is weak at all. There isn't a real evidence to justify such claims. The week time period seems positive for ETH with a 2,35% increasement in price, but it still has to overcome some barriers to have a positive fluctuation in comparision with the monthly time period, which shows ETH with a - 6,05% negative oscillation.
2953  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on revenge trading? on: January 02, 2023, 09:25:47 PM
Revenge trading is the same as revenge gambling. The concept, causes and effects are almost the same, although in trading addiction might not be the exact reason and recurrency is likely to be lower than in gambling. What happens in trading is that people watch those gurus from Youtube and Telegram groups encouraging them to start trading and acquiring the products they sell, so people really think trading is a safe source of income towards the so desired independent life. When they realize it's not that simple, and that losses are not only possible, but also likely, they may feel despaired to recover what they have already invested and lost. So they appeal to revenge trading.

Hopefully, after finding themselves in a situation like that once is already enough for them to learn the lesson and never try again.
2954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is The Gambling Industry Part Of The Domino Effect That Happens In The Market on: January 02, 2023, 09:12:18 PM
It is indeed not advisable by all means to leave funds for long time in gambling sites.
Some sites can collect your funds or have handling fees if you have a dormant account, so better check that out also in their ToS.
I can understand if the user is actively playing on the site or is participating their investment options, why he has to leave some funds.
With what we are experiencing up until today, even big and reputable exchanges can fail, it is also the same with casinos or bookies.
So if you will not be playing on the site, better send your funds to your own wallet. Even if you say, the site is licensed and reputable.
It's true we should be careful when leaving funds idle at online platforms for a long time. But do you know what is interesting? We don't hear about casinos scamming their users like exchanges have been doing since the big scandal with Mt. Gox many years ago. Compared to exchanges, I conclude casinos are a safer business model to let your funds than exchanges, what is quite ironical, since casinos are considered greedy places where people lose money, while exchanges are considered places where people store money safely. Cheesy

In every cases, it's not a recommendation to let funds at casinos, especially because there are some casinos nowadays seizing funds from gamblers' accounts which are inactive for a long time. So, as you said, to read their ToS is a must!
2955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Memecoin and utility - impossible or next stage of crypto development on: January 02, 2023, 08:21:16 PM
A memecoin is a type of cryptocurrency that is primarily used for online memes and as a form of online tipping or reward. They are typically not intended to serve as a serious investment or store of value, but rather as a way to facilitate fun and creativity within online communities.
I don't know a single investor who is into this kind of investment because they are having fun and inspiring creativity on the online community. As far as I know, investors are into memecoins because they expect financial returns.

One of the main utilities of a memecoin is its ability to facilitate the spread of memes and provide a way for users to show their appreciation for content creators. By allowing users to tip each other with small amounts of memecoins, it can help to encourage the creation and sharing of new and interesting memes.
I thought emoticons existed for that purpose already, since the early days of internet (and for free). And I don't think they need to be replaced by memecoins.

Another utility of memecoins is that they can serve as a way for online communities to self-govern and regulate their own content. For example, a community may decide to use memecoins as a way to vote on which memes should be promoted or featured. This can help to ensure that the content being shared is of high quality and resonates with the community.
Memecoins are copies of each other. There is no creativity or high quality content on this community at all. It's a speculative niche of pump and dump schemes. Sorry, but nothing of this make much sense in a practical way...

Overall, while memecoins may not have the same utility as more traditional cryptocurrencies, they can still serve an important role in facilitating creativity and community building online.
Memecoins are shitcoins like most altcoins in this market. They are of no use. And that is why all of them are dying, with DOGE's exception, since it's a classical cryptocurrency which must last for a long time yet.
2956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casino on: January 02, 2023, 07:02:31 PM
You need to look for other crypto casinos on this forum, I am also a crypto casino player and almost the average person on this forum has played a lot of crypto casinos for example I prefer dice roll or Crash, it's fun to use the martingale technique in both games , you also need to try a strategy in playing

This is very true, when we decide to play in a casino, even for the first time, we try some games, and there is always a game that we like more than the others, and that type of game is the one we should take advantage of, because according to our personality and tastes is the one that we direct the most, in the case of games like Craps, it can be said that some players have strategies, but in roulette, slots it is all more luck and well, you have to know how to bet so as not to spend all the money, and I think that this is the most important thing, that the money allocated is what is going to be spent and not spend more to avoid addiction problems or similar.
Years ago, crypto gambling was more stricted to few games, mainly dice, but now there are so many different gambling games to try on. There are alternatives for every tastes which are pretty enough to cover the whole experience someone could have at a land based casino, from the variety of games' point of view. Crypto industry has been providing gamblers a boardless new, immersive and dynamic experience, besides offering the provably fair experience, which ensures legitimacy to games' results, which has always been a big concern from gamblers when playing at fiat casinos.

If OP is a real gambling fan, and has knowledge on this matter, he will find on this industry the casino which best fulfills his demands and please his personality.
2957  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NFT Speculation on: January 02, 2023, 06:53:43 PM
Right now I don't have interest in any NFTs, because I don't see potential on the available ones for the future.

Before I went for Axies and Lost Relic's NFTs, as I was willing to try the games. However, the lack of updates and news made me lose the will for playing. Anyway, I don't regret having purchased those NFTs, as they proportionated me entertainment, and in the case of Axies some profit as well, while I was playing.

Now I expect NFTs may revive once more in the next bull run, with new projects related to the gaming industry. That is the condition I can think right now which could lead me to invest on this crypto category again.
2958  Other / Archival / Re: [POLL]What do you expect from Bitcoin in 2023? on: January 02, 2023, 06:44:23 PM
Neutral scenario so far, with chances of a new bottom below 15,000$ or stability around 16,000$-17,000$, but minimal chances of a positive trend happening anytime this year.

I don't think economical global crisis is the reason behind the bearish market, because despite crisis, money doesn't disappear. Fortune is always somewhere, the problem is that it's concentrated in the hands of few individuals and these individuals aren't interested in bitcoin investment right now. To take the bear away and to bring the bull, these wealthy investors must retrieve their interest in bitcoin, meaning bitcoin must shine when compared to other investments' alternatives. Since bitcoin can't do this for now, we are still suffering in this market.

The real reason of the bearish market is that there are better alternatives for influent investors at this time, outside crypto industry.
2959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you do if you get a time machine now? on: January 02, 2023, 05:33:21 PM
It's said time machines would be harmful to our timeline's sequence of events. What we change in the past would completely change the present and the future. Anyway, it would be tempting to go back in time, in the early years of bitcoin, and start using the first faucets available, while storing the income made for the future. I heard the first or one of the first faucets gave 5 BTC per claim, so we can have a good notion of how profitable it should have been to have claimed from that faucet thinking on long term. That is the perfect solution for everyone, since not all of us would have money back then to invest in bitcoin. We would have to earn it doing tasks and faucets were the key.
2960  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price guess, 2023 on: January 02, 2023, 04:46:19 PM
We start the year with positive price fluctuations. Hopefully we can break the 17,000$ mark and reach the highest price level in 1 month period. That would mean a positive initial omen for 2023, but I don't expect bitcoin can make much progress this year yet, as investors' focus is at the economy of USA and Europe. If 2023 remains as a stable year for bitcoin it should be already considered success by enthusiasts, because it's really not easy to keep prices stable with so many scams happening simultaneously, consequently demolishing the confidence of every investors around.
