2941  Other / Meta / Re: Huge donations to bitcointalk on: July 28, 2020, 02:26:52 PM
This is the donation address of the forum: 17RTTUAiiPqUTKtEggJPec8RxLMi2n9EZ9

It right now has 1,7M$. If you check the recent transactions, there are people that send huge amounts. How is that happening?? Do admin(s) use it instead of donating?

One thing we can confirm is that the address is the donation address of the forum.

https://bitcointalk.org/donate.html

However, we can't determine or tell where that donation is coming or for what purpose, only the admin can tell as they are the ones who are in control of that wallet, but I would not bother to ask because donations are mostly anonymous, unless you want to belong in the list which I think are coming from early stage donors.

just look at the btc figure from the wallet address so you'll not be confuse.

btc receive : 9839.23238496 BTC while the final balance is only 156.05024514 BTC.... that's only 1.5% of the total btc received in that address.
2942  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC up 42% year to date while Gold did good at 28%. Will it carry on? on: July 28, 2020, 02:00:34 PM
I am confident that the growth will continue.
Same here, maybe this is the time where the market will fully recover and we will once again witness a bull run that we are all wanting to see.
Looks like 2017 is still fresh for us, every time we see bitcoin pump like this, we always expect big, and that is a good mentality as it would make us hype as the price continue to pump.

But I don't think we should expect the same price as in 2017.

You are right and maybe you are wrong too because I expect something bigger than 2017.

if we look at the price history of bitcoin https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/

Last July 2017, the price of bitcoin was just less than $3000 but it reached almost $20,000 by December.
So if we follow that trend, we start at $10,000 this July, sure by December the price will be over $50,000.. but we can be conservative with that prediction, let's just say $30,000 and it's still a new ATH.
2943  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitGo withdrawal fee is too high on: July 28, 2020, 12:33:41 PM
I'm guessing you chose their hot wallet known as "BitGo Pay As You Go wallet" which charges 0.25% transaction fee for bitcoin withdrawals.
Regardless, 0.25% is only BTC0.0003725, not almost BTC0.03 which was the amount deducted to the total balance if OP would withdraw the maximum.

Still, that's way less than the BTC.03  being "eaten" by the wallet. Does the wallet require you to have a minimum balance like what bank accounts do? I know it's a crazy idea but it's strange that your total balance is almost BTC0.15 but what's being shown as available is BTC0.12

I guess OP here has to ask the support and clarify this issue before proceeding to withdrawal, or maybe he can try to withdraw 25% of the total balance and see how much fee was charge.
2944  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin touch $15K till end of 2020? on: July 28, 2020, 11:44:38 AM
Honestly, the movement I saw was very fast, we just break the $10k and we shoot up to $11k, so I would not limit to myself the possibility that bitcoin will reach $15k this year. The thing is, we are still investing in the same market, the market that is easily affected by FUD, FOMO, and manipulation, so even in a short span of time, $15k should not be hard to achieve when the market will have the same behavior as we are seeing now.
2945  Economy / Exchanges / Re: has anyone have their funds locked up by Bitfinex before because of 2fa? on: July 28, 2020, 08:55:09 AM
does anybody knows anyone in bitfinex that can help me? or have anyone met with the same situation and how long it took before it is solved?
I've read their terms and conditions with regards to resetting 2fa and withdrawal hold.
After confirming by email, your 2FA will be reset and your account will be put on temporary withdrawal hold. The duration of the withdrawal hold will be between 5 and 15 days, depending on your account equity.
I guess OP's case has already lapse, he said it's been 3 weeks already, so that should be 21 days.

it have been 3 weeks since my 2fa reset and not only i cant withdraw any of my assets, the team only replies to my email 3-4 days after each email. this is so frustrating!

in fact, this is the first time i've submitted so much information! i've reset my 2fa in binance, bittrex and coinbase and all of my issues were solved within 3 days.

You must be careless with your 2fa, that' money, so you should be careful about it. I think sites have different procedure, but in your case if you have complied everything they ask for, I guess there's a problem with you account as it already lapse on the processing period, for now, what you can do is just to continue making follow up on the support and hope you'll receive a good answer soon.
2946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The difference between a true Crypto gambling site and a Fiat/Crypto site.. on: July 28, 2020, 08:18:11 AM
Fiat casinos need a decent capital to start their business,  they will have to take care of the website, promotions and most importantly to get the approval of the license from regulators, while compared to crypto casinos, they can registered to a country or place where license is cheap and crypto friendly at the same time. So in short, the capitalization for crypto casinos is lower compared to fiat casinos and therefore it make sense if they will have a higher minimum bet compared to crypto casinos.

In addition, there are a lot of crypto casinos that starts their operation even without a license and a bad website, so they can just operate for awhile and just stop operation if they want to, they will not lose a lot of money and might probably take the money of the bettors. What's happening now is that crypto casinos are competing already as we have a lot of good casinos in the market now, and they are not only attracting small gamblers but big gamblers or whales as well.

AFAIR, crypto casinos is already a billion dollar business, so that's big already.
2947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some gamblers have been arrestes in Bangladesh for money laundering through bitc on: July 28, 2020, 07:44:23 AM
Couple of days ago, a group of fraud from Bangladesh made around $250000 within 2 months through influncing people to gamble in their gambling sites/apps and later scam or something like that, have been arrested by police. From the amount they made, they had to sent a lot of funds to Ukraine where the leading people live. They used bitcoin to send the money. Police said they are investigating more to find everyone related to the gang and/or who have helped them directly or indirectly.
First, I think you should change the title of the thread BTC instead of bitc.
2nd, it would be nice if you put some link on the source of this news or story so we can read the full report about this particular news.

I sometimes sell BTC in local market through the help of some facebook group. I never felt that I am in risk but for the first time, it seems like we are actually risking ourself a lot of by selling BTC to unknown. What if they get a trace of ourself and link us with such transactions? Would we be also get punished? For your info, we had to use our mobile number to continue dealing.

Based on the story.

I think you are not risking here, that's how p2p is done, and buying and selling of bitcoin is not illegal as bitcoin itself is not legal.
I know you are concern on the money laundering, but it wasn't you who are laundering money when you buy or sell from someone as you are not in the list, unless you are suspected to, but you will be under investigation and if they don't find any evidence, you'll be safe so there's no need for you to worry.

I think you should read more about what is money laundering.

2948  Economy / Gambling / Re: jacksbet.io pre - launched having lots of especial promotion. on: July 28, 2020, 06:45:36 AM
Huge price pool but using the devil's number. lol..

here's my simple review.

Good UI, lots of games available, and it's good because they have some affiliate program.
I wonder what's with the dividend, there's no info that will come out when I click it, maybe they also accept investment.

I think you should PM the representative, invite them to join in our forum, it will be a good exposure for them now that they are still in the pre launch stage.
2949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING SITE INVESTMENT on: July 27, 2020, 11:51:54 PM
I think the time given is very long because we all know that when you trade, to get a profit of more than 2%, there is no need to wait for up to 13 weeks, so when you have a lot of capital, then use it to trade better than investing with that method.
Trading is a high risk venture, you only make money if you have the skills, investing in a casino is easy, just put your money and wait for the return, but I agree, with less than 2% in 13 weeks, I think OP needs to re evaluate his investment, unless he is doing it for pure experiment only.

Saving your money in the bank could give you this rate, not monthly but in a yearly basis, but at least it's guaranteed and safer as bank have an insurance policy free for depositors.

or if you want to grow your assets in an instant way, you can go directly to a gambling place, but with a note that when you enter a gambling place, no one can guarantee an instant profit.

Not a good recommendation, if OP believes he can make money in gambling constantly then he would not choose to invest in a casino, that's against his principle based on the experiment he showed to us.  Sad
2950  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unconfirmed Transaction on: July 27, 2020, 11:12:35 PM
This kind of problem normally occurs when the network is busy, try increasing the fee or target it to within 5 blocks so your transaction will confirm faster. Fee could be depending on the amount you send, but sure at this moment, you need to pay over $1 for every transaction if you don't want it to get stuck.
2951  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stay away from this kind of giveaway!! Scam alert!! on: July 27, 2020, 10:39:54 PM
They made more than US$118,000 through this scam.

I'm surprise that there are still a lot of people who fall for this kind of scam, it's an old trick, I thought people have already learn.
These hackers I guess were disappointed that they only made over a hundred thousand dollars for their effort, hopefully there's no other trick like this anymore, and thanks for the community for spreading this news so people would be aware.

And now they are moving into a new platform, big platform as well, but since what happened is still fresh, I guess people would already know if they are reading the news and not just investing blindly. As a community member, we should take an effort to help by reporting this kind of scam, that's simple contribution would already save people from being scam.
2952  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is $10,000 on: July 27, 2020, 10:18:22 PM
And this is it, we are already at $11k, it looks like the bull run is really here as the FOMO is slowly forming from small to big FOMO.
We didn't expect this, what we expect is that a bull run during the halving or the post halving bull run which could happen next year, but here we are, it came early than expected and this tells how unpredictable really the market is.. Hey OP, it's 2 days and we are at $11,000 now, maybe 1 week from your post, we will be seeing a $15k price.  Grin... pardon me, this is how people think when they get into FOMO.
2953  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is bitcoin a currency or but also a money on: July 27, 2020, 12:08:23 PM
Some recognize bitcoin as a property.

English Court Recognises Bitcoin as Property
Different government might have different view on bitcoin as that's how they regulate it.

However, I believe for majority, bitcoin is a money or a digital currency... this is a long debate if we dig deeper,  but for typical investor, bitcoin is an online currency that is decentralized and that its value will rise depending on the demand.

If I hold 1 btc, whether it's considered as property or currency in my country, but in reality, I can call it myself  as money since anytime I can exchange it with fiat and spend it like like how people spend fiat.
2954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum : Its not too late on: July 27, 2020, 11:24:51 AM
If you invest long-term in this market, it will never be too late.
Almost a guarantee that you'll make profit in the long run as ETH is still undervalued at the moment.
Let's look at its past performance, the price was good during the bull run, ETH risen over $1000 in just a short period of time, so it long term, ETH would surpass that ATH, and the fact that ETH 2.0 is coming and the DeFi has a rising popularity now, there's a lot of positive news to expect in the long run that would eventually pump ETH.

But to invest in the short term, be careful, the current price has risen too high and it could crash anytime.

As usual, the market is very volatile, one day the price will pump, next day it will dump, but that's alright as it's normal, if you know how to play the game, you can buy anytime as what you are looking is only the proper timing to get in and out.
2955  Economy / Speculation / Re: When we will see $12k Bitcoin once again? on: July 27, 2020, 07:46:21 AM
This is very funny. First we have topics all the time with theme when Bitcoin price will cross 10000$. Once this happens questions like when will price cross 12000$ or 15000$ begin.

True. The price has just crossed $10k barrier and people already asking about $12k. Im sure same people will immediately create topic “when 15”, if the prices crosses $12k.
That's what traders do, as you can see, OP showed a graph and explain it based on his opinion.
Expect that more people will even create thread similar to this as the market is getting bullish, and that is a good sign as it could help the readers to be convince that the crypto market is now bullish and might rise more.

When will people understand that bitcoin can not just grow by itself and show the growth all the time...

Bitcoin will grow when people are investing, that's it, but what OP is showing here is definitely just a short term movement in the market and it's quite relevant as bitcoin always have some surprises that it could even pumped significantly in hours or in a day.
2956  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin might never reach it's ATH anymore on: July 27, 2020, 06:26:31 AM
Maybe this topic is not in a good timing, bitcoin is bullish now, it has breached the $10k mark already, and slowly it's building a FOMO.

Again, we are in the situation where bitcoin will try to break the heavy resistance, if it can do it, then expect a possible FOMO and the timing was really good as we might end up this year with a new ATH in case that would happen. I have no doubt with bitcoin now because looking at the global market, crypto stands out against the stocks and this should be seen as a positive news for us and be bullish expecting bitcoin could potentially surprise us again.
2957  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SCAM OR NOT? on: July 27, 2020, 05:35:42 AM
Some one help. I bought /invested 500 in Bitcoin with someone I was told I would receive my return in 7 days after after which I was then told I had to a 1000 for profit withdrawal fee. This took 5 days to reflect in my coinbase wallet at which time I forwarded the funds. Now I'm asked to send another 1000 for a Crypto receiving allowance Fee before I receive my return. I have not sent it.

So you sent $500, and you expect a return in 7 days, after 7 days, you are told again to send $1000 to withdraw your profit, and good thing you didn't send again, so I would like to summarize, you only lose $500, of course because it cannot be BTC.  Grin

Question;

Who's that someone? was it a company name, a person, or what?

Because my friend, ,it looks like you got scammed here, and there's no way for you to recover your money, unless you know the someone and you can go after that someone.
2958  Economy / Economics / Re: Yearly >Trendy< Crypto Markets, Is Crypto becoming like Tech Fashion? on: July 26, 2020, 12:20:40 PM
The reason why there's a changes because there's an improvement, people are looking for something better, so the old once will become obsolete as the new one gets popular. Of the list that you posted.

- 2017 = ICO's
- 2018 = STO's
- 2019 = IEO's
- 2020 = De-Fi

I only feel the ICO popularity in year 2017 because its popularity has reflected to the market, the rest, I am not seeing some significant changes yet, but hopefully this year we will see a bull run if this yeas is for the year of De-Fi.
2959  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How my bitcoins were nailed down in my grandfather's garage. on: July 26, 2020, 09:59:54 AM

You loss more or less $300,000 at the current BTC rate now.
What the... that's a huge amount dude, but you know, things happened, you just have to accept it and move on.

Hopefully you are still into crypto now, it's never too late to get in here again, and hopefully you'll be able to make that much again.

What you shared here is just another number of bitcoins lost in circulation, so the supply keeps decreasing as incidents like this occur.

Yes don't lose hope because you can earn this again but it takes time at least you gained bitcoin and this is worth it with the market price right now.

You move on and conditioned your mind because if not, you'll feel the pain every time you see bitcoin pumping, just like now, it seems like bitcoin is having a little bull run and might break $10,000 again. As per OP, I think he has already move  one since it happen a long time ago and he was sharing it to us without thinking about negative comments.

Lesson learn for us, especially now that we are investing, if we have an altcoins that we though a shit coins, let's still keep it, as who knows, the market will turn into the opposite of our expectation, and that shit coins might bring us some fortune in life.
2960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING SITE INVESTMENT on: July 26, 2020, 07:50:55 AM
Yolodice looks safe enough.

Yeah, I have invested in Yolodice $500 (not to much money, really)  and it was done for my fun rather then profit because  investment is  titillating like a gambling. BTW, I think investment into the dice centred gambling  is more profitable than say into slots, though I'm a fun of fruit-machines.

Of course it's more profitable on dice games as this attract more gamblers than the other games you've mentioned.
The bigger the wager, the better the chance the site make in terms of profit, hence it will positively affect your investment.

Since you are just doing it for fun, I'm sure you can give more time to observe and research which games makes the site more profitable.
Anyway, it seems like Yolodice still the most popular and heavily invested site here.
