Can anyone help? on myPPCoin wallet it says no active connections with a red cross on the bottom right? Do I have to do anything to sort this or is the wallet just not working?

That means that your wallet can't find any peers to connect to. I haven't used the Mac PPCoin wallet, but in a lot of cases you can fix this just by waiting for a while; most wallets try to contact peers that they've connected to in the past before they start trying to discover new peers, and that can take some time. Hi its really strange I have got nearly all the wallets running and PPC is the only one I can't. I got 300 ppcoins mined and I can not send them to myself  What version of the PPCoin wallet are you running? If it's not 0.3.0, you probably need to upgrade. This program uses Qt version 4.8.4. Is that the version? How do I find the version? |

I am trying to develop some miniy keys for cold storage but I do not understand what to do from here: https://github.com/casascius/Bitcoin-Address-UtilityI have a mac. Do I just go through each one and put all the code into terminal? Any help how to get started would be much appreciated |

I could have bough 15 bitcoins but now I am stuck with 1.6 Bitcoins that cost me 1900 USD. I can laugh about it now but I did go through some darkness about it.

I believe the difficulty will go %10+ forever on every difficulty change.
I am not a technical man nor I have any knowledge on circuits but I think if asics managed this much raise, there would be some new hardware with much more higher hashrates , maybe they will still be asics but just 'better' ones.
this increase is all ASIC genenaration 1 coming to market. The second generation of .28 chips will start hitting the market in the fall. In regards to the price of manufacturing meeting the difficulty there's still ways to go. Remember the manufacturing cost of these USB sticks is around .01 to .02 (what a profit margin when they were selling them at over 2 BTC, talk about striking it rich with BTCs). The question that should be placed is when the manufacturers no longer think the profit margin is worth the trouble. So the 30% a period will continue for the foreseeable future. These sticks will be unprofitable (power cost = revenue) at 2 million difficulty, but you'll never recover your investment, you'll do it as a hobby. That's why they have lowered the price so much, they're trying to milk the last drop of milk out of the BTC cow and playing on the people stupidity into ordering 100s thinking they are smarter then the guy next door that is also ordering 100s. .08 is probably the lowest they will go before closing up shop or releasing a .28 chip This sounds like sense. I bought 12 of these for 1900 usd. I feel like a right plonker now. I do not think I have been unlucky I should have done my research instead of jumping in head first. ASIC miners are a scam even at this price. A total Scam. I have mine mining alt currencies now in a hope they gain popularity as I have given up with getting 0.1 bitcoin per week. |

I agree and also when bitcoin reaches the value if 1000's then the inspection before purchase would be able to identify any tampering

I managed to use VMware free trial to run ubuntu withough having to boot from a usb. Then erased application and wiped my free space.
Will I be safe?

Is there a way of using a pi, block eruptors to mine any alt currensies that are sha-256?
If so how do you do this just change the pool on cgminer?
