2961  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC -85% FROM ATH IN NOVEMBER..... on: May 25, 2022, 04:12:39 AM
Any harsh low is likely to be a one day spike down, of course at that time you wont know if its for one day or forever hence some sell.   The low is always something of a test but low prices are far more consistent to track then the highest prices I think there is more accuracy to their movements so it should be possible to buy on those lows as price action shows itself to be more regular and very slightly positive.
The harsh spike down is hard to call, my worst estimate was perhaps the 2019 peak but the 200 week seems to match up better.   I was never sure about the 2017 peak because it was stuck in the middle of transaction fees spiking, was volume reliable at that time to reflect consensus or was it mostly just the largest speculators outbidding themselves.
2962  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin & US stock markets on: May 25, 2022, 04:02:22 AM
Theres a correlation in sentiment and leveraged money via the Dollar index.   In a harsh environment anything speculative will retract and alot of tech companies are valuing prospective earnings which is something under threat when the market considers a possible recession in future.   BTC relates to that general pullback so long as its not a yielding currency, its not completely or true in absolute way because there are operating businesses which make money via use of BTC or obviously alot of tech stocks are based on profitable operations (globally).
The correlation is in less optimism of GDP expansion, US stocks suffer from inflation fears where as BTC generally is going to react positively but in this case its a long term reaction via growth as an alternative currency to transact.  So on multiple time frames comparisons will vary.
2963  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sideways huh! on: May 24, 2022, 10:43:37 PM
More sideways, along the weekly average back and forth is typical of the market wearing out both sides of the order book.   Volume builds at this level and it becomes more significant.

So likely the range is 30k and 25k below us and breaking that range leads us to more interesting price action becoming possible.  34200 above is the lows of Jan Feb likely target upside.
2964  Economy / Speculation / Re: non sequitur on: May 23, 2022, 10:57:26 PM
Never short a dull market, classic phrase and worth remembering because it costs alot less to reference history then relive it personally and painfully.    Markets and people tend to repeat themselves, BTC is low but you dont sell into the low if you can at all avoid it because of why the harsh low occurs in the first place.   Biggest lesson to take away from any modern market is the amount of hot money or borrowed money that is sloshing around the place; when the market contracts it really hurts those who needed the momentum of trades appreciating.
We get stuck in a loop basically and price is not always accurate, seen before and we'll see it again BTC is very likely fine and not any worse off then a year ago imo which is not to say we cannot go lower but I think we're stretching it with this straight red sequence.
2965  Economy / Speculation / Re: A crash where Bitcoin wasn't responsible should be treated as such on: May 22, 2022, 10:21:09 PM
Im not thinking of it as a crash to begin.   BTC only went on a round trip which is nothing new, we are back to similar prices from a year ago so not a big deal really.   Disappointment sure but I would imagine the full scale of negatives and positives is far beyond what we've seen; despite the great movement BTC is well known as highly volatile and this kind of sell is relatively normal.
I agree with the idea that some of the price at least is external to actual ongoing factors for crypto so that is bullish.   We have strong dollar for the moment but in the context of an issuing government who cannot really repay their debts, it would appear inevitable that Dollar concludes with negative value vs BTC where nothing changed especially within this economy
2966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: May 22, 2022, 07:24:59 PM
Faze are favorites to win the CS major which is slightly surprising.  I think Navi fans dumped their bets after not the best performance in this first map.   I put down Navi and also 3 maps to occur.   Navi can win a map in this series and I can cash out at that point if I really feel like it.
Not the best bet if its true Faze have Nuke locked down as casters are saying but Im watching the game anyway and this map is Navi pick
2967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto moving into world. Algo sponsor FIFA on: May 21, 2022, 11:57:20 PM
A event like FIFA has to find sponsors that wont collide and conflict with each other I suppose, crypto is useful in being quite distinct and a new innovative sector of the economy.   Its good to see crypto develop well established companies that would benefit from long term advertising like this, it suggests long term revenues and hopefully a more secure economy not just the (market) spiking highs and lows we are all familiar with.
2968  Economy / Economics / Re: Using plants as a savings account on: May 21, 2022, 11:42:40 PM
Commodities should boom over the next decade it was going to happen even before current supply failures.    Simply we have a growing Global GDP and population and only so many resources to supply that demand, at the same time the oversupply of central bank debt has been excessive and does not relate to production.   That should mean the price of commodities rises strongly for many years.
The reason to be cautious on any growth related product like this is commodities are a sector which can half in price at times.  Its not as easy as it appears, you will have competition on top of all the other worries the market is never entirely stable and some parts of the world are far better for producing then others.
I think in a gold rush the man who sells shovels makes the most money as the supplier of all entrants at a known price and cost, so in this case that would be agriculture fertilizer which equates to the energy required to create massive amounts of produce year after year, season after season consistently to your customers.
2969  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was $25K the bottom? on: May 21, 2022, 10:18:41 PM
No would be my answer for now on two points, we havent put in enough volume and also the whole price action is quiet reluctant in both directions.   25k was a proper level to hit on the downside but we didnt do so with excessive fear, news event or large volume.   The 2020 march was for example in the middle of big news, not expected and unparalleled.
Right now is a slow grind downwards, its too stable in that respect.  BTC can grind upwards slowly also but I would expect multiple tests of the low not just one.  Its unconvincing basically, still on the positive side I would say buying at half the price it was December is positively smart as its not changed since then besides price really however I think buying more then once is best when we dont know future prices.
2970  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fiat vs Bitcoin. "bad money drives out good.” on: May 21, 2022, 09:46:47 PM
Its why all metal coins have been taken out of circulation and reformed from the cheapest possible metals that can be found.   Our currencies have all lost over 90% of their value so the metal has become far more valuable then the nominal figure on the front.   So this the kind of effect they are referring to, markets cant be controlled in this way people will always throw the trash out and sit on what is usable over many years.    In the next ten years its likely scrap merchants get rich because they will deal in trash that is somehow more valuable then the ongoing failure of currency, hence their debts lag their profits made or thats how its been in prior instances I heard.
2971  Economy / Economics / Re: CBN to stop circulation of Naira note on: May 21, 2022, 08:23:49 PM
Modern paper currency is only IOU written down in fancy writing anyway, there is no promise or contract to pay any value in exchange.  Arent most currencies digital anyway, the vast majority of the value circulated is from balance sheet to balance sheet and never printed.    I cant see it will make any real difference long term, normally they withdraw a particular note for forgery/security updates or just simply the notes wear out perhaps but since most paper is only token value and the central bank does as it wishes without any control or balance does it alter much for the common person.
2972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Smart contract based crypto betting sites? on: May 21, 2022, 07:26:38 PM
I used to use one of these based on the HERO or (PLAY) token contract.   It actually lets people setup games and bets themselves within that token system.   They put a bit of work into it but their first try or test of using that token to run esports games did not snowball into something bigger.    However some other company took over the assets and they might be operating games, I havent heard news of recent activities.

2973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler turns 60 pence bet into £157,865.59 on: May 21, 2022, 05:09:03 PM
Its so lucky he could write a book on it or a regular newspaper column because clearly he knows his stuff to get all the games right when some can barely guess any results beyond random picks.      Depends where you retire but 200k is a starter for a pension and then you need it to grow over a couple decades or he could just buy a house and save himself rent that way; its a decent amount but depends on where you live and the costs you pay.
2974  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitoin prediction - 1 Million dollar by 2025 (Expert) on: May 21, 2022, 03:58:46 AM
The one positive about this pullback is you might come closer to your answer because its the lowest prices which ironically define the possible highs later.   The true direction in price action is determined in the darkest days when its hardest to take an interest and put capital into play long term not for day or weekly flips.  Its not the inane hype of bubbling speculative market movements later that really show us direction, thats the tail end of any move.
100k is more reasonable then 1 mil, dont get ahead of yourself in any estimates; I think the whole of 2022 is going to be a kind of solution to that problem so its better to ask next year then now
2975  Economy / Gambling / Re: I want to make a telegram live betting group… on: May 21, 2022, 01:52:00 AM
The obvious thing would be to kick start via established users here, presumably no spam kings would originate from signing up people who express an interest on this thread.

I did used to post my daily bets in advance for esports in advance of the game, I would discuss prospects and various odds vs the teams playing etc.   Put a bit of effort into that writing (the idea roughly being you build a record of accuracy and gain status perhaps) and the website was well organized, I would prefer that over telegram phone messaging which is ok but usually quite brief.   The website tended to neglect its contributors just in any way, there was little feedback or even virtual gains in being an active user so it didn't succeed.
It will be hard to build up that regular involvement in any serious way but I like the idea in theory.   Ive been the member of over a dozen betting groups, regular viewers of various twitch broadcasts, youtube etc.   it can work but to make it a regular thing is hard to do

I have placed again 3 bets for btc price, for two ranges <30<. I think (I hope…) it is unlikely btc price will go below  25k during the week. Let’s see… I have also placed my bet for Verstappen.
FUN token is for 30sats for longer period already, I strongly consider buying some more. Maybe in the beginning of June, after btc price results.

Buy into a rising trend is the experience I've gained from watching or being in markets many years, its hard to call out absolute values as good or bad to buy but a good trend thats something I wish I had stayed with more often.
The BTC price right now just guessing based on familiarity and prior experience I would say its most likely to trail sideways, its fallen (after losing its prior trend) its blipped up just a bit from the bottom enough to give some bulls hope and now we likely see the two sides fight back and forth with little ground given.    Trying to predict the breakout up or down is the ideal situation for a trade or this end of month bet, its just my guess and I agree we arent seeing that exceptional scenario where unexpected prices appear.     Above 30k some positive bias but barring that neutral to negative, the clue maybe to watch is the Euro vs the dollar this says alot about the weather to end out this month ie. its recovered slightly in some parallel to BTC prospects.

If we judged price by news not graphs etc.  then Terra breakdown and that general break of faith in regular trade is not an unfamiliar event but similar to the past its more sentiment for crypto overall rather then BTC itself.  The edges of crypto are perilous places to be, I dont think BTC itself or this site deserves that label so I remain bullish over long term just not especially this month.
2977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any changes experienced within body - Gambling??? on: May 21, 2022, 12:53:30 AM
Eat more healthily that sounds like.   You should be eating whole bread not white because if your diet lacks fiber it can cause these kinds of problems.  The obvious other thing is if you are highly stressed while sitting still at a desk its not a good condition for your body to be in for hours on end.   Stick to lottery gambling where its not an event you can in any way blame yourself or feel under pressure.
I dont dismiss your health concerns because stress can cause damage but do avoid playing a gamble game as anything different to how you would play pinball, its just a past time go do some sports sounds better especially if you are competitive, set a new time for your lap in a local cycling route Smiley
2978  Economy / Economics / Re: Stable coin can solve poverty on: May 21, 2022, 12:44:33 AM
I heard of Chinese money many years ago printed with a timestamp on it.   The money appears in the economy and is exchanged but by a certain date it will disappear again and not be accepted in payment of bills or taxes.   There is that idea of free money but only temporary, I dont think it can work especially as it just gifts money to some over others which is not capitalism but centralism of government using paper debt to pay bills.   The same thing applied to QE really, it was supposed to be reversed but they lack the ability to do so; in the end FIAT fails from its constant promises and confiscation of value from the common people.
There is no easy path, stability has a cost the same way insurance charges a premium I think.   Enabling the population to retain the benefits of their hard work is the first move to stop poverty.
2979  Economy / Economics / Re: Taking loan during high inflation? on: May 20, 2022, 11:06:38 PM
Crypto wouldnt give the yield vs the cost of the loan but its not a bad idea if you can reduce outgoings or achieve a reliable yield elsewhere in some way.   The main thing is inflation creates instability and people get unexpected events that disrupt their liquidity vs the loan hence it can become a problem.   Always have a backup plan to such ideas is best.
2980  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time for me to buy on: May 20, 2022, 09:29:26 PM
A quite simple take for when to buy and hold and when to sell is to me the weekly average (blue line here).    Its best to start off simple in life generally as things easily get complicated in the moment and so I dont suggest a simple idea is that easy to implement but at least you can check this yourself quite quickly.
This is the graph with recent BTC weakness and us the entire time staying almost always below that weekly average line, you must identify when we are able to consistently do the oppisisite and repeatedly stay above the weekly average.   This defines trending strength, a period of growth in the price ergo a good time to buy:
