souulCopy I made a perfectly reasonable post that is in line with actual data, and it was deleted. No transparency as to who deleted it, no way to appeal it, or determine why it was deleted. How exactly does the moderation work, and why isn't there a better system for oversight/communication when things are deleted? I assume such protocols are in place, but I'm relatively new here.

*FIXED* I edited your quote without making clear what changes I made because I'm a complete twat that deliberately misleads people.Unlike you, I have some self-respect so I have gone back and made a DISCLOSED edit to my previous post.

i did instant withdraw and when will i get payment ?
Usually when the next block is mined on the Bitcoin network. If you have Payment Notifications turned on you should have been emailed a link to the transaction so you can see when that happens.

Yes, that`s exactly what I mean. And it`s not necessary botnets (though it may be one of reasons), real new users are getting banned too. As I understand it`s aboun dynamic IPs that most providers use in Eastern Europe, for example. Whole node get marked as evil one if even one user uses TOR or trying to make some troubles.
The evil IP works by giving a score to IP addresses. Every time an account is banned the IP address used gains some evil points and all addresses near that address also get a smaller number of points added. Once the score gets to a certain value a fee is required, the higher the score the higher the fee. I'm only guessing about how much of this is due to botnets but they are prevalent in Eastern Europe (Russia and Ukraine in particular) so I think they'll account for a large part of this and also will have affected innocent users of the same ISPs.

It seems to me, you, peolpe, overloocking one substantional circumstance in you research regarding Brand New members. Thing is, you often can`t register and not get a ban at once even from you own IP adress, espesially if you are a TOR user. But sometimes (as was in my case) you just randomly get some point of evel (like, about 10 or smth) and can`t post a thing till you pay some fee, less than comission. So, naturally most of new users don`t know about IP ban feature untill they try to register and in most cases, unsuccessfully. So, here comes another acc or two or three, and most of them are pictured green in that diagram. They`re just dead accounts, nobody will ever post from `em, that`s why this number of Brand News. If you want real numbers, you should get a quantity of IP banned accs and exclude such ones from calculations.
Do you mean they only find out about the evil IP after the account has been created? If so that would explain the numbers as the botnets would have created most of those accounts and never been able to use them.

My point is this: Post half of a rule and it gets parroted all over the forum and is stated as fact, causing confusion for others that won't read forum rules for themselves. As stated earlier, once attention is brought, I remove the rating. I have replied to his PM and the rating will be removed. I don't see how that is unreasonable.
Each to there own, but I didn't think it was relevant to this conversation. If someone gets confused by that then I would put the blame on them for not checking the rules rather than the person that was having a conversation about a specific part of a rule. I would think that if I was in the situation I was really concerned that someone would read it and be mislead then just posting the additional information would have been reasonable. I'm not criticising you here, just giving an opinion.
|
|
|
The letters do not reach you due to the prohibition to write the beginners
That is not true and we've already been talking on PM so I have no idea why you would say that. Maybe you have just run into the PM limits. The number of PMs is restricted based on your accounts activity level. You might find it more efficient to combine what you have to say in one message rather than sending me countless ones.

I have seen many post quoting forum rules that are incomplete or outright false. Some claim you are ban evading for making a new account to appeal a ban and use a, this is not true as long as you follow the rule of :The only exception is creating a thread in Meta about your ban."
Yes, it is incomplete but he was talking about the part that is relevant to this conversation. I don't agree but the point he was making is that he thinks that changing the wording of the ban notification would advantage the banned person in not getting banned again if they did break the ban evasion rule. Making a tempory account to appeal the ban just isn't relevant to that conversation so I think you are being a bit unreasonable to say that is is wrong.
|
|
|
imo, specifying the exact ban reason on the notification would only make it worst whoever gets perma banned, by rules, is not allowed to create another new account but by knowing the exact banning reason, that user will learn, adapt and create new account he gets smarter, in a bad sense, then keep doing what he was doing before but with better technique
This is false. See my post above or the rules: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0The rule says: 25. Ban evasion (using or creating accounts while one of your accounts is banned) is not allowed. With the exception: 25. If you get banned (temporary or permanently) and create a new account to continue posting / sending PMs, it's considered ban evasion. The only exception is creating a thread in Meta about your ban. How is Thirdspace wrong?

It goes back to 2016/12/13 thanks to taptoshi, who is no longer active on the forum. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Unfortunately the modlog has no dates. I can start collecting the date now when I scrape it from the log file, but past records are not timestamped. I could guesstimate the date range based on the ID number like the OP though. That's a decent sample size. I guess the exact date isn't that important, I was just interested in what sort of percentage of new accounts do get nuked in recent times as opposed to years ago.
|
|
|
I could pull up exact figures as needed, since I maintain a full list of the modlog.
That would be interesting. Does your data go back to 2017/05/11 as that's what the OP was using?
|
|
|
You should exclude the brand new users from your stats. They are likely to be spam bots that are banned.
That is quite some stat in itself, 73.35% of new accounts got nuked. I agree that the other percentages would give a better representation with those having been removed from the figures first.

I'm looking forward to starting trading on your exchange. Are you planning to create better conditions for users than on other exchanges? Please share some details beforehand if you can. Your site is a trusted place and I think many traders would move to your platform if conditions were better there.
It's going to be an exchange to compete with those made for trading. Although everything is still in the planning stage wetsuit said he intended it to .be an alternative to something like Shapeshift. Just the ability to switch from one coin to the other. The advantage will be for small amounts you will not have the hefty withdrawal fees that most exchanges charge.

obviously there is a misunderstanding here... I think I worded my previous post incorrectly I was simply expressing my opinion but got painted red I understood what you meant and I can't really see how your post could be interpreted as false or encouraging rule breaking. It was obviously just acknowledging the fact that they will ignore that rule and come back with a new account.
|
|
|
I wonder why it is over 48h but I didn't receive bonus 5$ in my account? Because I only get to compile the list to send to wetsuit about every 7 - 10 days.

In general, all Global mods do is help the moderators handling reports. Some global mods will also help with administrative duties such as temp bans, account recoveries and the like.
If there are sufficient section moderators, having additional global mods will not be necessary.
How many boards only have a global mod assigned to them? I've noticed since the new reports page is available that when I report a newbie that all moderators can deal with the report is usually handled very quickly but when I report a Jr. Member or above it often takes many hours or sometimes even a couple of days to get handled. That's what I'm basing my opinion that the global mods are overworked on.

Exactly my point. It feels like a common "Bait n Switch" business model, where you attract people with the promise of FREE money and when you hooked them into your service, then you switch to a business model based on profit. You even removed the "Donate to Charity" feature that was implemented at one stage.
It always was a for profit business. The donate to charity option was removed because Save the Children stopped accepting donations in Bitcoin. 1It is sad to see this, because Freebitco.in has always been the site that helped to grow adoption and also spearheaded "newbies" entry into Bitcoin. I am not badmouthing the site at all, I am merely making an observation based on my long-term association with this site, from it's early beginnings. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I hope with the new launch that we would see something that would be focussed on what this site was initially based on, which is "Helping" the millions of people that needs a jump start into their Crypto currency journey. We're not removing the faucet so we hope we will continue to introduce many new people to Bitcoin. The rebrand may help to end the confusion that many people have about us being a charity. The free money has always been there to bring in new customers some of which will deposit and play.
THIS The goal of the website, as many companies out there, is to make profit. I think faucet will remain to attract new players, but they'll always be encouraged to play MULTIPLY BTC game. Freebitcoin can't give money without earning some somewhere.
Edit: [1] It appears that Save the Children have started accepted Bitcoin donations again. Unfortunately, it was a very underused facility so it is unlikely we will bring it back.

~ We've been chugging along a few weeks with only 3 Global Moderators, and I don't think too many people noticed that Salty, and grue were inactive. Salty as been logging in, but hasn't done too much moderation work based on Hilariousnadco's comment. theymos recently made a comment that its not about the budget of the forum, but the lack of trust in delegating roles to users. So, I don't expect us to see new moderators/global moderators, and would assume that existing staff members will be promoted if there is a need. Yeah, I have read comments about the budget not being the issue rather than lack of suitable candidates. It does seem like a lot of work for 3 people so I hope there are some moderators in line for a promotion soon.

Can someone explain to me why the payout is weird? What a bummer to roll high enough to win more than the minimal roll prize and then see that it pays less than 9886 other numbers.
You have redeemed Reward points for a FREE BTC. Redeem your points to increase your minimum free FREE BTC reward! Each bonus is valid for 24 hours after redemption. This bonus will only increase the lowest prize in the FREE BTC table and only the base reward will be multiplied by this bonus and then added to any other bonuses that you have currently.
I just got this big red notification on my account, anyone else getting it too? my registered email address can still receive messages in inbox just fine does freebitco.in start blocking, or request changing, certain email address' domains?
We're not blocking any domains. That error only occurs when your email provider has bounced an email we sent. Only your email provider can explain why they did that. I strongly advise you to use another email for your freebitco.in account as when you see that message it means there is a flag on your account that will allow password reset without a confirmation email. If you keep any balance in your account please use 2FA.
Edit: Hope you see my point. We started out making a profit from adverts and now have an income purely from gambling. Later this year the site will rebrand to take the word 'free' out of the name. We'll be adding more coins and an exchange. I hope you see our point.

I don't understand the part about getting nuked as a newbie. Is that a spambot-preventative tactic that mods have that isn't there for Jr. members and above? As far as I know: -any Mod can nuke a Newbie. Nuke means ban + delete all posts. -only higher ranking (global?) Mods can ban anybody, but posts won't be deleted unless the Mod does that manually. Just to add to that, as I understand it, all mods can nuke a newbie but only the global mods and admins can ban anyone above newbie. So it isn't just cleaning up the mess the spambots make but once they make it to Jr. Member that puts more work on very few people to deal with them.
