2961  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Thousands of protesters take to the streets in Cuba 🇨🇺 on: July 12, 2021, 02:20:51 AM
Trump might have intervened and defeated socialism in Cuba.

We already tried that once and it didn't end so well.

Besides, interventionism is not what Trump was all about.

You can't "free" a country from itself.

The idea has always been a farce.
2962  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 12, 2021, 12:49:23 AM
I can't see Bitcoin being caught dead with a fat gold chain either...

Unless you're in it for the technology?

when i feel the call to make a meme, i don't question whether or not its good, i just fulfill it.

2964  Economy / Reputation / Re: Report a Signature Campaign Spammer! on: July 11, 2021, 07:57:49 PM

Whoa tonto, calm down.

If you're gonna bump a 2-year old thread to report a sig spammer then you should at least get the campaign and manager right before immediately losing your shit.

Having said that, I'm not immediately opposed to the continuance of this thread.

2965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why did Satoshi use GB English and international English ? on: July 11, 2021, 07:38:58 PM
- Jgarzik's optimisation to speed up the initial block download a little

do you have any other example where Satoshi uses "s" instead of "z" because this is the only single example you posted with an "s" and it looks like change-log which might have been written by someone else (like Garzik) and copied here.
even still, one example is hardly proof because it may have been autocorrect tool setting one variation over the other.

The examples are pretty well documented:

https://ungeared.com/the-strange-story-of-satoshi-nakamotos-spelling-choices-part-1/

Sometimes he even used both spelling variants on the same day:

So Satoshi was either multiple people or one clever person who was pretty switched on about OpSec.
2966  Other / Meta / Re: Admin/Mods Please lock the Livecoin Thread on: July 11, 2021, 07:20:34 PM
@Cyrus
@hilariousandco

Is there some particular rationale for keeping the Livecoin thread open that we are not privvy to?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1151791

Its quite obviously incentivized posting... To prove it all you need to do is find the 15/2/21 post on Telegram that instructs people to post in the thread:

https://t.me/livecoineng

This is the message:

2967  Other / Meta / Re: Where's the new forum Theymos? on: July 11, 2021, 09:15:16 AM
I think the forum should stay as is.

This forum is kind of like a Bitcoin Museum that was built by Satoshi, and we should leave it that way (I realize its already different from the first iteration)...

I just can't imagine coming to a hip, modernized forum to read Satoshi's initial posts...

The forum gets the job done: people are free to express themselves any way they so choose...

Spam will always be a problem so long as there are sig campaigns and bounties, regardless of what software the forum uses.

Theymos should airdrop the forum donations to all active accounts with addresses in their profile. Beginning with accounts that start with "n"
2968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: July 11, 2021, 07:53:23 AM
I reckon just using a random draft order would be sufficient.

5. This spot is open

So I guess wheelz changed their mind? I will send them a PM in a day or two and see whats up
2969  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake Account Seller - Colires - Telegram @COLIRESTHELASTONE on: July 10, 2021, 10:30:06 PM
My bad but i checked just now, so many people flagged that account but still no negative trust?

What are you talking about? The guy's feedback is littered with negative trust. You obviously didn't check his untrusted feedback before making a deal with him.

The problem is every time somebody accuses colires of doing this or that they are like you and never present any evidence to back their claims.
2970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Axie Infinity Thread [self moderated for spammers] on: July 10, 2021, 10:02:13 PM
So yeah... About AXS... Freaking wild. Its tripled in 1 week.

All the sudden this is a multibillion dollar game?

Did it get a graphics overhaul or something??

the rapid growth makes me worry though..
My friend is even planning to sell his car to invest in Axie and he literally has no blockchain knowledge.

Yeah I dunno I hope he either did it already or else decided it was too crazy of an idea. Because that's what I'm thinking ATM... I would wait for prices to fall back to earth or risk getting burned pretty hard.
2971  Economy / Reputation / Re: livecoin.net invasion on: July 09, 2021, 07:36:29 PM
why this amateurish way of doing things?

Because they're amateurs dude.

Meanwhile the thread is still open, mod hasn't acted on my reports, if anyone wants to help me report those accounts and get the thread closed that'd be great thanks.
2972  Economy / Reputation / Re: livecoin.net invasion on: July 09, 2021, 09:37:40 AM
This is still going on and its insane, dozens of brand new accounts posting daily about how they received 50% of their Livecoin balance. The ones that leave transaction IDs are from transactions that are days or weeks old...

This is definitely incentivized posting.

With most of these account I don't believe they actually are getting money from Livecoin but rather being paid to spam the forum. They post this task to be done on Telegram, people do it, and they pay them.

Ah... Here, I found it. From the LivecoinEng Telegram group, 2/15/21:

Oh and then there's this cute gem:

I'm not a boot actually. Posting here is a part of deal and payment programme  Smiley

Regardless of whether or not these are actual Livecoin customers, it doesn't matter because its incentivized posting either way.

The Livecoin thread should therefore be closed.

It would be helpful if you could please report a comment by a 1-post newbie that is obviously following the Telegram instructions:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1151791.1580

You can use this post as a reference. Thanks.
2973  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 09, 2021, 05:42:00 AM
You know what's weird?

Bitcointalk is blocked in China, but bitcoin.org isn't.

https://www.comparitech.com/privacy-security-tools/blockedinchina/

Kinda weird.
2974  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 09, 2021, 01:31:55 AM
Just hiding and watching, will be happy with the results regardless of where it takes us!

Hello, I confirm I have received 50% of my payment on Jul-05-2021 07:02:36 AM +UTC.

Link to the transaction:

This transaction was from three days ago but you just remembered it now, 40 minutes after the last sockpuppet totally real person, mmhmm... gotcha.

You said that already, 2 days ago.
2976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: July 08, 2021, 08:39:07 PM
I doubt this will do much in the way of dissuading future scam promoters as its just too lucrative a business for them to stay away from. However, its still better than nothing.
2977  Economy / Reputation / Re: Forum made Legendary Member - PrimeNumber7 on: July 08, 2021, 08:25:34 PM
It's not like I forget what @PrimeNumber7 did but I am trying to be objective or should I say a kiss ass in my post. Thanks for sharing the secret and I plan to employ that in my account, not the sockpuppeting though.

I should have clarified last time that I don't actually believe those are the secrets of ranking up.

I'm just pointing out that by the time the PN7 account was created, QS already had years worth of forum experience and a handle on the way things worked. Every claim PN7 made about "being a newbie" (or less than a Legendary for that matter) is false -- trying to congratulate oneself for victories achieved with an undisclosed leg up on the competition seems dishonest to me.

But that's just me.

I will admit his posts are better than the average shitposter. He's still not an exemplary model to follow for actual newbies.

I am late to the party but I want you to receive the congratulations and virtual applause that I will give to you. You are an inspiration for other people in this forum that have a low rank like myself.

Can we get laugh reacts added to the forum next? I wanted to give this post a merit ironically because I thought hey, maybe that'd be pretty funny, but unfortunately an ironic merit is still a merit.

Yes, he's an inspiration for how to rank up, maybe even the Jesus of Sockpuppets, as by now at least hundreds have followed in his footsteps in an attempt to emulate the pure lifestyle behind his rank-up system.

The first secret of success is to have an older account.
The second secret is to look at the first secret.
2980  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Covid vaccine TERMINATES 4 out of 5 pregnancies via “spontaneous abortions” on: July 08, 2021, 06:17:32 AM
so its not that there are 600k deaths..

Great, this devolved into there being a silent Vietnam of vaccine deaths in the last six months.

So where are the bodies? Nameless, friendless, free of family... its almost like they never existed at all.  Roll Eyes

I wouldn't have seen this coming because I will never take BADecker off ignore... you're utterly wasting your time here but then again who among us aren't.
