He posted about 2 types of accounts:
- a saving account
- an investment account (trading)

The percentage guarantee (5%) is only about the savings account, it's specified the investments account based on trades aren't guaranteed.

@OP
The competition is rude and established, your idea doesn't look very engaging considering how you introduce your idea, to be honest, I wouldn't give you a buck, I would prefer to buy a scratch ticket instead.

I suppose you're looking to collect funds on the saving accounts and play the lottery on the trading market. Putting the users at risk

2966  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When to report crypto on taxes? on: April 24, 2020, 04:15:27 PM
The first time I see someone thinking the date to send your income report for the taxes is the same worldwide.
And contrary to what you think, there really are people who pay taxes on cryptos.

Otherwise, you WILL regret it later..

In my twenties, I tried to cheat the system, how stupid it was, years after I had to pay an amount with 4 digit numbers.
Never again...
Now I'm so happy to pay taxes  Cheesy
2967  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which 3 exchanges would you recommend? on: April 23, 2020, 06:12:19 PM
To those who feel too lazy to read the article, 3 exchanges sites which OP suggested are Kucoin, Coinbase and Bittrex

All of them are good exchanges, but if you are asking about my personal opinion, i would go for Binance, Poloniex and Forkdelta as the 3 best exchange site

I have Kucoin and Yobit right now, these two has no report of getting hacked Kucoin has proven their track records for the last three years and Yobit because I am very active on forum that they are promoting and Yobit is where I got my earnings from posting on Crypttalk and so far they never miss paying me.

Yobit is one of the shadiest to me, misleading their users to buy a shit coin. They create stupid currency and give it the same currency code as another popular and real altcoin. Buyers buy it thinking they're buying the real coin while it's not the case.

Icoin is created with the currency code ICN, people buy thinking they're buying Iconomi
Boats and Bitches is created with the currency code BNB people buy thinking they're buying Iconomi Binance Coin
More example could be given

Wallets in maintenance for an eternity, randomly blocking users, ....
No idea why people still trust this platform
2968  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin mixers on: April 22, 2020, 10:38:54 PM
The endless debate of Bitcoin mixers and illegal stuff... Cheesy

@OP
I can twist the question for you. What is the essence of the HSBC mixer? Does it really make sense to use it only to those who conduct illegal activities?

Privacy is a human right established in the universal declaration of human rights.  Why stop people from exercising their rights when they're not hurting anyone? Most people use a mixer to protect their privacy for whatever reasons they have.

On the other side, darknet users usually send their coins to centralized exchanges
2969  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where do the VCCs (virtual credit cards) come from? on: April 22, 2020, 09:53:38 PM
Quote
I noticed a lot of people sell prepaid virtual credit cards for Bitcoin in here. Anyone knows how the sellers go about making the cards?

There are websites or apps providing VCCs for free like Oxygen wallet, Lime, Udio... Or some persons basically receive VCCs as rewards from their online activity, etc. the same way people receive and resell Amazon vouchers, Bing rewards...

Quote
Doesn't Visa/Mastercard have KYC rules?
Up to $150, not really. That's why there are still places to buy prepaid cards without KYC (i.e. PCS)

Quote
And isn't it very expensive to become a credit card issuer?
Legally as a company? It's a nightmare between banks, Visa/MC, regulations, attorneys, partnerships, and so on...
2970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is it important to maintain confidentiality in Bitcoins. on: April 22, 2020, 08:25:41 PM
Speaking from a personal experience , I do have unfortunately come across a lot of people who are hiding their funds in Bitcoins to hide from paying taxes , taxes are unreasonable but at the same time one has to do it one way or the other . At the same time there are people who are willing to accept Bitcoins as a form of payment directly in their address particularly dealing with drugs and all . There have been cases where sick people are selling child pornography using Bitcoins . Some are caught unfortunately most of them are not.. ever a minor setback is problematic ; as I have already stated how it is nothing compared to money laundering in physical cash .

Maybe because you hang out in places where it's common usage, or maybe you follow a blog that often publishes stories like this.

I don't want to say that it's not true, but in any case, I can tell you that the percentage of utilization made for not so clean activities is very low compared to what we think. And especially insignificant compared to the traditional currencies, as you say

I'm not claiming it's a myth, but that it's subjective, and we got enough researches about it to show us the reality

I don't want to talk about wallets today. I have made a costly mistake. I think i lost a few words..I was trying to be way too smart and scratched off a few words and kept them someplace else. Now for the life of me, I have not been able to find them. It wasn't life's savings but comprised most of the sig campaign payments i have had in the last 6-8 months (which haven't been many). I am so kicking myself since the morning for being this careless..God i'll say it..Its around 0.06 BTC. Such an amateur mistake..I had been going through a bit of shit in personal life and this felt like i was doing something on the side atleast. Today when i lost access to that wallet, has been a bad day since. But well, I'll survive and learn from the mistake. Sorry, Rant over.. Embarrassed

 my sincerest condolences  Cheesy

The Dutch central bank becomes the next to announce planned testing of CBDCs. https://cointelegraph.com/news/dutch-central-bank-ready-to-play-a-leading-role-with-digital-euro

Quote
The Dutch central bank wants to be the proving ground for central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) in the European Union.

In a 45-page report released by the bank on April 21, the De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) said it was “ready to play a leading role” with research and development into its own digital currency as well as a Europe-wide digital currency.

As far as the underlying motivation goes:

Quote
Though not the primary target of the report, the DNB singled out cryptocurrency Libra as a possible threat to monetary stability and conceded it was “the reason why the DNB and other central banks are now considering issuing their own digital currency.”

It's obvious which way the winds are blowing now. China, EU, UK, and the US are all moving towards CBDCs behind the scenes.

Did you notice the report is talking about a national digital currency AND a European one? I started to wonder if the country is maybe planning to come back to the national currency without leaving the Euro money. In this case, they may use EUR only for Intra-European payments and the Dutch coin for the national payments

If they do it, there are some other countries that will do the same for sure. It would be nice, many of us in Europe regret a lot ours old national money since the Euro. The end of this stupid European centralization, yahoo!

There are a lot of more central banks working on CBDCs, so yeah no doubt we know what to expect now

At least with banks, you can go to the agency and make a scandal until they release the funds, or contact a consumer association, and use justice.
Even if they decide to close an account they're forced to give back the funds

Currently, @OP is surely singing Cheesy
2975  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-04-13] Coin Mixer’s Record Month Proves Bitcoin Users Want Anonymity on: April 21, 2020, 06:57:59 PM

I know it's ridiculous, I'm laughing myself about it.

Imagine someone accepting payments in BTC and he receives tainted bitcoins. If we follow their reasoning he will be linked to a criminal person and he will start to be in trouble at the moment he deposits to an exchange platform. They will gladly provide any information collected to the police upon request.
And exchange platforms are the bridge between the crypto world and the traditional banking system for the majority of people since we don't massively use DEXs.

The trend will be to say "people have to make their due diligence before receiving a payment" but how do you want the average Joe to make it when the majority uses a web-based wallet, don't even know how to sign a message, etc.
Imagine saying "Show me your bitcoin first" when you're selling something

What is considered as a tainted coin, it's difficult to say, they mostly rely on companies I mentioned and the large databases they all are building, and it's very hard to find information about it since it's not exactly something that's been publicly known.

2976  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best place to buy crypto in Canada via interac e-transfer? on: April 21, 2020, 05:32:52 PM
No problem...

It will be worse using Paypal, you will pay with a rate of 20% above the market and a lot of them will ask you selfie, ID card and I don't know what else. Since the trades happen mainly on P2P marketplaces, it also means you will have to send it to an unknown person, not the website itself.
With gift cards you will still pay a price above that, I can't tell you how much.

However, since you can use wire transfer it gives you many more options.
You can go to Kraken, Bitstamp, Bitfinex, etc., at least in that case you will pay the market price but no more.
2977  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How stakedwallet pays 1.5% daily? Looks like a Ponzi scheme. Gd read for newbies on: April 21, 2020, 04:47:19 PM
When you see the site listed mainly on HYIP monitors you don't need to look further and you can close your browser directly. No question asked.
I stumbled upon an article on Medium this morning where the author pointed out several similarities with an old scam.

They claim to have over 500k members while the website is less than 6 months old. LOL
2978  Economy / Economics / Re: The Coronavirus and A Deflationary Crisis on: April 21, 2020, 04:33:50 PM
...

It has nothing to do with Covid-19. It has been caused by Bitmex and the btc futures and its liquidation engine, They were even forced to put the site on maintenance to let the market breathe. I don't know why it hasn't been talked in the forum but the price could have gone down even more.

They justified the maintenance claiming it was to stop a DDOS but it's a big lie.
2979  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best place to buy crypto in Canada via interac e-transfer? on: April 21, 2020, 03:42:56 PM
Besides the link suggested by Lucius , you can also use P2P marketplaces such as Localbitcoin, Localcryptos, and others. At least on LocalBitcoin, I'm sure there are offers to buy. The thing is you can be sure you won't get a spot price.
Mybtc.ca has a ~7% fee, to compare with.

Aren't you guys tired to promote spam Blocknet with different accounts here? A DEX that nobody cares about? Sometimes they don't even remember what they already posted and end up copy-pasting the same post from another account lol. I reported a user already not long ago https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2696455;sa=showPosts

Is Blocknet so desperate to use such an advertising strategy? Blocknet look like a pure shit to me now
