Hi it's rofl not rotfl. Anyway ost here any need to go around calling people dumb? I must admit after reading your reply I could tell that you have a far superior iq. I think you are the most intelligent person I have ever encountered actually.

For the alt coins that's a good idea! Can I mine them through cgminer?
2962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Cold storage problems on: September 11, 2013, 07:10:21 AM
I am making some cold storage litecoin and bitcoin wallets. However I only have 70 digits I can type. With a litcoin wallet this is no good as I have 85 digits. I have tried on the litecoin block explorer to enter the first 8 digits as you can on the bitcoin one to veryfy the balance but it didn't work.

Is there anyway round this? I know for bitcoin I can just record the first 8 digits but what about the litecoin? Is ther a way to generate a miniy private key? If so how do I do this?
Thanks

Wow doing it with a coin is fascinating! Can you post a guide on this? It will give everyone a greater understanding of bitcoins too! Wow that really is intriguing Smiley

2965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Generate an address on: September 10, 2013, 10:07:19 AM
Hi Basically I would like to open my own savings wallets without worrying about it.  These will be cold storage with the private key written in code that only myself or family know.
I only have a mac laptop that I have used for many many things that I could not trust 100% in order to generate an address on. Without actually buying a new laptop and using an off line www.bitaddress.org to generate an address please can someone tell me the most secure way of generating an address and private key for cold storage please?

Thanks. I got around the defcon trick quite simply really. It would be good if these coins were accepted in shops at some stage however.

Chances are.... yes very good point. I remember a year or so ago I bought some shares in an oil and gas exploration company for 3k. they were set to more than quadruple. Alas literally 2 days after I bought they came plummeting down to the value of 1k and never recovered. Its typical for me this kind of investment. But I am firmly believing I have taken enough hits now that surely one will pay off Smiley
Come on Bitcoin PLEEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSE

But always never invest in ANYTHING unless you can afford to lose it.
2968  Bitcoin / Project Development / Litecoin Bitcoin tokens project on: September 09, 2013, 07:13:22 PM
I am currently manufacturing physical litecoins and bitcoins for the masses. These will come in denominations of 1 Litecoin and 0.01 bitcoins. They will be made of cheap material like aluminium and have a holographic sticker on the back. These will be made either for long term investement or to give as gifts to people who dont know about crypto. There will not be a great deal of difference between casascius coins or Lealana litecoins apart from the very low denominations opening the scope for normal everyday people to potentially buy them

My theory is no one will spend 100 pounds plus on a bitcoin or 10 litecoins when they dont know anything about them but they will spend 4 pounds. Therefore more people will buy them and get more interest. I will not be making hardly any profit probably 1 pound per coin unlike the casascius coins that make 10-15 pounds per coin for the basic brass versions.

This is just a hobby really and a plan to get litecoins to the masses as well as bitcoins. I would like to donate the first coin made to an organisation that helps litecoin and donate one for every 20 sold. Similarly the same with bitcoin. Who would be the organisation that I can get in touch to do this?
Thank you!

Yeah well I have sold it for 750. Also I have spent that on 10 bitcoins and I am going to continue buying 10 bitcoins a week for the next year. That is a lot of money Smiley

2971  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should I keep or sell? on: September 06, 2013, 02:05:04 PM
OK well thanks for the tip
2972  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should I keep or sell? on: September 06, 2013, 01:39:48 PM
when they first came out they were 200 Each on Ebay. I bought 2 for 200 and then 10 for 900. Plus all the hubs etc it worked out at 1500GBP.
RaTTus I wasn't ripped off I bought them at the current market vlaue on ebay I just did not do enough research to realise I was practically flushing my money toilet and could buy else where. But thanks for the comment.

So the question remains. If I keep mining will I eventually raise more than 750GBP? Or should I sell now?
2973  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Should I keep or sell? on: September 06, 2013, 01:04:12 PM
I bought some minining USB's and raspberry pi etc for 1500 GBP
So far I have earned 1 BTC. I know I will never get my ROI but I can sell it now for 750 pounds
It is a raspberry pi with 12 block erupters 4000Mhash/s
Should I keep it and keep mining or sell it and count my lossess?

Does anybody know or know where to get a bitcoin checkout for my web site please? Is there any support that is either paid for or free?
2977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Serious problem with bitcoin on: September 05, 2013, 02:47:04 PM
True you dont but as soon as you make a payment or accept a payment thats all. You are then visible to the public. It can all be tracked from transactions. When you want to find out if someone has anymoney you make a payment to someone or something you can track back to him.
2978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Serious problem with bitcoin on: September 05, 2013, 02:41:36 PM
Now one thing I see a serious problem with bitcoin is this. Your finances are on display to anyone. Lets say theives break into your house thinking you have money and threatening you for it. This would be a whole lot more sinister if they have the block chain as proof.
No body can hide there money and even a simpleton can track your exchanges to see how much you have in your stash.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

2980  Economy / Trading Discussion / Casascius Userbills on: September 04, 2013, 11:47:35 AM
Hi I now have 5 Casascius coins which I really love Smiley But basically I was going through the userbills and there is version 1 and version 2.

I have 3 series one coins and a series 2 coins but I can not work out what version 1 and version 2 are on the user bills. They all go back to 2011 so it is confusing me a bit. Can anyone explain please?
