2961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are stablecoins a definite solution against a bear market? on: December 15, 2019, 05:54:21 PM
Stablecoins are a good solution against the bear market. It is a definite solution to preserve one's investments.

I don't agree. Stablecoins can be created out of thin air and we all know that the most popular stablecoin tether lied about being pegged 1:1 to the dollar. This means that stablecoins can start fake pumps by increasing the supply of a stablecoin and then buying real coins with it. they can do more harm than good for the crypto space.
2962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Decisions for a better life on: December 14, 2019, 11:04:34 PM
You're asking a funny question OP. Of course everybody will say they'd choose their family because even addicted people don't want to look like jerks in public. Saying that you'd choose the addiction would only make others say that you have no heart and things like that.

It's like a man asking a woman if she would live him if she met someone with more money. Of course she'll say no at first Wink
2963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it good to talk about big gains? on: December 14, 2019, 10:42:32 PM
Never. I don't talk about my gambling at all because it's a slippery subject. You don't know what other person will think about it and there's probably as many people who despise gamblers as those who gamble themselves so you've got a 50/50 chance of driving the conversation of a cliff.
I also don't talk about the money I earn and try not to be in other people's faces with wealth. I'm not rich but when I buy something I don't want others to feel envy and be uncomfortable.
2964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A BOLD player is considered a dangerous player at casinos and sportbooks. on: December 14, 2019, 10:21:25 PM
How many of these bold players actually win? I don't think they're more dangerous because the numbers stay the same. A player staking 100 mbtc has exactly the same odds as one that plays with just 10mbtc. The 100 guy takes a bigger risk and gets a bigger reward. Your casino rake is also bigger.

You as a casino owner also take a risk and the risk is bigger if you allow people to play high stakes. A millionaire can come and break the bank in one go if you don't set limits.
2965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DID I MAKE A MISTAKE INVESTING IN BITCOIN? on: December 14, 2019, 06:20:46 PM
No.

Well yes, I mean, you did a mistake when bought digital cipher garbage with your real money. But that is not investing. That is being connected to a milking machine.
Please do not forget: almost non-existing market can not set back. Fictive transactions completely dominate this "market." You should find the relevant information easily on Google.

It's funny that all those who criticize Bitcoin are usually newbies with no experience and no knowledge.

How can a transaction in the blockchain be fake? Even if it's not sent by a person but some bot it's still a real transaction with fees being paid and money moved from one wallet to another. Banks are doing it every day but they just move numbers in a database with no real money moved.

In your other posts in another thread you call Bitcoin a "scheme". For it to be a scheme there would have to be someone taking profit and controlling it. You have no idea what a scheme is.
2966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To bounty hunters & investors on: December 14, 2019, 06:09:50 PM
No, IEO in Binance is always successful and it's not your point of view, don't just 1 project, look at some of the projects that IEO launched in Binance, is that all successful? it's clear that IEO at Binance will be successful and many investors will be interested.
To get down MATIC tokens is only the fault of the foundation for sending tokens to Binance so many people are panicking.

Wrong. They were always successful till this day. You can't say that they will be successful forever. No machine is able to function forever without problems and there are no people who never make mistakes. Would you be willing to put your life at stake if a Binance IEO failed?

Don't be overconfident or you'll lose money! CZ has lied about many things so I wouldn't trust him with my money.
2967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your Expectations for year 2020 on: December 14, 2019, 05:56:13 PM
I think this year was the year of a premature pump. People were so tired of the bear market and wanted something to happen finally but there's a very nice positive aspect in all of this. Last year we were mostly sitting at 6-5 thousand dollars for Bitcoin and this year we are back above 6. If you bought somewhere between August and November of last year this year at the same time you'd have at least 10% more.

If Bitcoin finally recovers the altcoins will follow. I think that 2020 will be big.
2968  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin go to $8000 soon look this fractal on: December 14, 2019, 05:48:06 PM
The fractal didn't play out but there's so many things in play lake seasons, news and such that you can't rely on a single indicator. We're in a good buy zone if you believe this index https://alternative.me/crypto/fear-and-greed-index/#fng-history It's been constant fear since August. This was the last fairly greedy month on the charts.
Historically when it hit 20s it always was a good buying opportunity.

Longs were very high in the last few days so we could be witnessing a long squeeze right now. If it's so we shouldn't panic but rather buy.
2969  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can one have any expertise in Speculating? on: December 14, 2019, 05:30:03 PM
The answer to OP's question is very simple. People who are good at speculating become investment bankers and stock brokers. This is a real job done by thousands of people every day.

Yes you can learn it, you can become good at it. There are hundreds of books on the matter. There are even some world famous experts in the field like George Soros.
2970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There is a better alternative to Bitcoin and why not use it? on: December 14, 2019, 05:18:43 PM
In short people will not choose DB over Bitcoin because it's an altcoin. Altcoins have their pros and cons just like BItcoin but Bitcoin has the name and some real use cases. It's already hard to implement blockchain transactions into a company. Why would anyone who spends money to make everyone ready to take bitcoin payments change their plans and waste all the money saying nope, now we're going to take some altcoin that nobody is holding.

How many random people have Bitcoin? 1%? How about DB? 0.01%? What are your chances as a business owner that somebody comes to the store and chooses a DB payment?
2971  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can i Bitcoin or not on: December 14, 2019, 04:54:53 PM
The best strategy for you is to BUY and HOLD. We are at a good price to invest and seeing how Bitcoin grows, we could reach $10,000 in no time. That's easy profit just by holding (Assuming that you are looking long term)

Use a reputable exchange like Binance or Coinbase and store it in a paper wallet. If you are satisfied with the profit, you can always cash it out.

And what if it goes down to 5000 dollars and he buys now at 7. Do you believe he'll be strong enough to hold?
How many people who bought for 20 thousand still hold those coins? Probably none because that's human nature. You can survive a beating but if it gets too severe you'll break.

He might hold at 6000 5500, but if we fall to 4000 and he sees that he's almost 50% down in just a month or two he'll break, sell and lose it all. Holding is only for the strong.
2972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Spouses and Divorce on: December 14, 2019, 04:46:42 PM
In the event of something happening, I'd still give half to her.

what, even if she cheated on you with another guy, you'd still give her half? Don't say this is impossible, you never know with women Smiley

That would be up to to the court to decide. Usually even cheating partners get half of the stuff. It's different with children. The ones that are blamed for the destruction of marriage usually don't get them, but they still get money because what you earn during the course of marriage belongs to both of you.

2973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I forgot the password from wallet.dat 18.2 BTC on: December 14, 2019, 12:01:36 AM
Is the password matter in this scenario? I will say No as what matters most is your Mnemonic phrase. Besides, it is difficult to forget a password that holds such an amount of BTC if truly it is yours as claimed.

Anything is possible. Maybe he had that wallet for a long time. It's easy to forget when your coins are worth $500 each but much harder when they're $5000 each. Wink

Hate to say it but you can treat it as lost. The only way is if you pick your brain for the typical passwords you like to use. Maybe it's something with your girlfriend or your pet's name. If it's a randomly generated phrase like s1Q2xvy_k! you're fucked.
2974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What did you learn as a gambler? on: December 13, 2019, 10:40:38 PM
I've learned that you have to treat the money you gamble with as lost from the moment you deposit them in the casino. It's not because you will really lose or because it's some kind of scam. It's just better and healthier for you to think of a loss even when it didn't happen. It won't come as a surprise and you won't try to win the money back by depositing more and more.
2975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interesting graph: The payoff of early investment: Stocks IPO vs BTC on: December 13, 2019, 10:23:34 PM
I don't like that graph because it shows your profit from the lowest to the highest point. How many people were able to buy BTC below 1 dollar and sell it for 20 thousand?

It was the same with the pump to 1000 dollars when the price was there for maybe a day and then crashed. One important thing is that most investments are better than holding fiat money. If you have money in the bank spend it because it will lose value otherwise.

how do you guys put image on bitcointalk? i cant figure out, it keeps saying invalid host when i use imgur

I don't think this thread is a place to ask such questions Wink Go to beginners and help.
2976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would you have done? on: December 13, 2019, 10:12:03 PM
First of all I wouldn't buy altcoins with my Bitcoins like most people did when they got insane profits from holding BTC. I had Bitcoins from when we were at 1000 dollars so when we got above 10 thousand I thought why not differentiate. It was a painful experience Cheesy

I knew we were going to correct to 10 thousand but I wasn't expecting 6 or 3 like when people panicked and oversold completely. Took some profits between 20 and 10 in 2018 then bought back at 6 and held through that crazy crash in Autumn 2018 and whole 2019. I'm pretty happy with where I am now.
2977  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Taxation on: December 13, 2019, 10:06:05 PM
We do not want but we will be obliged to pay taxes. The state exists at the expense of taxes, although it’s not always clear to me why then not introducing mining at a legal level and building farms on environmental electricity. This would solve the issue of generating additional electricity and at the same time spend a small share to receive an inflow of funds into the country.

There's always time to change things. If enough people rebelled against taxation in their country the government would have to change policies. The government is strong only because it has support of the majority and people are scared to do something. They will write in the Internet how taxation is unfair but never really protest because it takes more effort to do so.
2978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is for you scam project and what is for you good project? on: December 13, 2019, 09:58:22 PM
Guys we are talking a lot of times about "this project is scam" or "this project is amazing and soon moon" but sometimes scam project making a lot of x but amazing project making -90%. So what is for you good project? Which team and project is fake but making xx or team and project real but price making -90% and we should hold?

For me it's simple. There are features a project just cannot have and each time you see it it's a strike. Some of them are:
Fake teams or team pictures
Big premine
Scamming people before the launch (like not paying for bounties or changing rules)
Mandatory KYC even for little things like bounties or airdrops
Devs lying about something being done while it is not

There's more but when you're in the space long enough you know what projects you should stay away from.
2979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the fate of Scammers if bitcoin later becomes a traceable Currency. on: December 13, 2019, 09:50:42 PM
Many say here that Bitcoin can indeed be tracked for transactions, but it's better if there is a more sophisticated system to find people who commit fraud or take our Bitcoin secretly, for example, their data can be seen or their faces recorded with sensors that are has been prepared with a tool that has been designed. That's just my imagination. Grin

It can be but for now it's not worth it. Teams that do it like for the FBI are spending a lot of time and human resources to track people and they're interested in big fish like that guy owner of BTC-e that was laundering money. So if you're a big scammer who took millions you have reasons to worry but then you can probably run to a country with no extradition Cheesy
2980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gold and Crypto on: December 13, 2019, 07:48:13 PM
Resources such as gold are used as a major exchange unit from ancient to present. With the continuous development of the world economy, the introduction of cryptocurrencies can replace gold making this exchange job much better than before and much more convenient than before.

No, gold is no longer used as an exchange unit. It's even hard to trade real gold these days. What you're buying and selling online are gold shares and this is what most people are into. If it is a unit of exchange take a gold bar and try to buy something for it, even something of equal value like a car. You can't do it!
