It was really unexpected for me to witness PSG finishing the group stage at the second position. I didn't think that Benfica would be able to get a win that would be enough to take the lead. But they really demolished Maccabi Haifa like 6-1 and deserved the lead for sure. They didn't even lose to PSG in both matches so they are one of the dangerous teams now on paper.

It must be really scary for seeded teams to have the possibility of getting a draw against PSG now. Liverpool are also among the unseeded teams and their performance in the Champions League has been impressive recently. They play like the opposite of their Premier League performance. I just wish that we wouldn't see a draw like an early finale. It's more enjoyable when we have such matchups while getting close to the end.

There are other surprises like fnatic have been eliminated and Cloud9 are also in danger now. fnatic faced really tough teams in all of their matches though. But Cloud9 made simple mistakes even against a much smaller team like Grayhound. Their Evil Geniuses matchup in 15 minutes is crucial for them. I expect Cloud9 to win this but I'm not sure if they can make it to the Legends Stage.

Simeone actually thought of leaving his job last season. Because they had really difficult times during the season in the La Liga. Their Champions League performance was also not very bright as they barely qualified for next stage thanks to their winning their last group match. Anyway after this horrible run in the Champions League maybe he is reconsidering it. The biggest achievement they can get in this season is to finish the La Liga at the 3rd position.

Do you think that Liverpool can be assertive for the Champions League again after the World Cup break? About rumours related to Messi, I can say that he is going to make his decision upon his future at PSG after the World Cup ends. For now he is just avoiding to answer the questions about it.

I also don't expect him to leave in January even if he doesn't extend his contract with PSG. Maybe his future will be dependent on how successful they will be in this season. If they win the Champions League title then it might be very effective in his decision. He would prefer to stay then maybe. But if one of the amazing trio leaves the team anyway then Messi might prefer to leave as well. Especially if that player becomes Neymar I mean. Arsenal seem really eager to win the Europa League title as well. If they handle a tight schedule well then they can maintain a successful run in this tournament also.
