2981  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: July 11, 2018, 03:32:04 PM
Who are those "merit sources" and is it possible to become one of them? That is not the first time I hear about sources, but I nevr got any concrete information about them and terms of getting merits from those sources.

It is up to them if they want to identify themselves or not. How to become a Merit source is described in the opening post of this thread.
2982  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! - $30,000 contest now live! on: July 11, 2018, 02:51:24 PM
From the referrer's perception now the problem is the decline in basic gifts in free games, limited reward point bonuses and captchas that are very difficult to solve. it makes most of my referrals stop playing and the effect of all those problems is that my income decreases significantly

I think why site owners do not return all the rules like around September - December 2017. they do pay a lot but they also got so much more. especially when compared with the price of bitcoin at that time.

The days around September - December 2017 are my good times with this site (freebitco.in), even my income from the site exceeds my monthly salary. I hope those days can come back

I think the key to this site (freebitco.in) can continue to exist and grow is the new registrars, because users of this kind of site will change continuously.

#### This is just the voice of a referrer who starts losing income ####

Yes, I understand that. The problem is if you give too generous rewards to free players then the botnets exploit it. All the changes we've made have been forced on us by them. Players that deposit and play (or even just deposit enough) are not affected by the reductions. Someone with a balance over $50 doesn't have any reduction in free roll reward, someone with a balance over $100 doesn't have a captcha.

A Bitcoin price increase like we saw last year generates a lot more interest generally and that also translates to increased turnover, not just for us but all gambling sites. That's always been the same in the more 5 years I've been involved in Bitcoin.
2983  Other / Meta / Re: How calculate recent top merit user on this forum ? on: July 11, 2018, 01:04:35 PM
If I'm correct, you have received 76 merits in last 30 days.

That's right. There's a separate page for sent merit: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topsend for last 30 days and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topsendat for all time.

2985  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: July 11, 2018, 10:33:18 AM
I have no personal issue with you. You joined in the middle of 2013 Bitcointalk. the heavy scam time was before. maybe you're too good for this Bitcoin world.

Yeah, I first got involved around Nov 2012. I used to just read the forum but only got an account here when I wanted to take part in a group buy.

I don't don't have an issue with you either. I just find seeing a high advertising budget as a negative sign to be contradictory to what I think.
2986  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: July 11, 2018, 10:21:06 AM
claim w/o prove

Maybe my memory fails me or maybe you deleted the post but I thought you applied around the same time I did. Either way, you have been trolling the campaign thread since that time.

+ making the ludicrous conclusion that the budget of that campaign is a sign of a scam.

I never did say Chipmixer is a scam right now.

I did not reported Chipmixer in Scam Accusations forum because the issue was solved by Chipmixer after two days.

Nor did I say you did.

if the strategie to become a large player by a larger advertising budget than the operational revenue will fail often Bitcoin ventures without a warning just disappeared in the past. why should Chipmixer be different?

That more than implies that you see it as a sign of a scam.
2987  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: July 11, 2018, 10:00:50 AM
I don't understand why discuss facts and past scam experiences should be trolling.

Your track record of trolling ever since your application to join the signature campaign was rejected + making the ludicrous conclusion that the budget of that campaign is a sign of a scam.
2988  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: July 11, 2018, 09:52:58 AM
you forget we have here Bitcoin land and not an environment~

They've been running over a year and they have had a perfect opportunity to use rising Bitcoin prices to reduce the budget and get exactly the same exposure. The fact they didn't do that is a fair indication the business is doing very well.

You can sit there with your tinfoil hat on saying the opposite all you want. I've been around long enough to have been a customer of most the ones that turned out to be scams. I saw the signs and got my money out in time with all of them except Cryptsy and that was only because I took my eye off the ball because I was too busy with other life commitments to pay attention.

I'm done with arguing that what I see as a positive sign you are determined to see the opposite. Good day, and enjoy your trolling.
2989  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: July 11, 2018, 09:18:23 AM
it is not just the volume of mixing you can use it for gambling too. so there is the mixing and gambling revenue which is interesting.

The gambling feature has been removed.

Issue has been solved and chips awarded to active sessions. Please check again and contact us if there is any futher problem.

We have had similar problem in May and June - bitcoind connection was severed and could not be reconnected. Fix was deployed a few days ago along with a few cosmetic changes (minimal amount is back to 1 mBTC, bet button has been removed) but as we see now - it does not fix the issue. We are still working on correct solution.

according to the high weekly advertising budget the revenue is very high or they operate with a loss. operating with a loss is not good because it could mean sometimes in the future they will disappear without a warning.

A high advertising budget is a business strategy employed by the many of the most successful large corporations in the world. Concluding that means they might be making a loss is illogical, they would have reigned that budget in if they needed to.

2991  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Modify Ban form letter on: July 11, 2018, 06:08:41 AM
2) The offence with a reference link or the quote. As well as a link to the broken rule

This probably isn't possible, often it's a pattern of behavior over days or weeks that's led to the severe penalty of a ban. Often the people who are banned are warned first...so the "why did I get banned" talk is just bullshit talk from the offender. Since there are typically several examples of the offending behavior the mods would have to cite multiple examples, which is a burdensome administrative task.

It's rare that examples aren't obvious in the member's account and in the Meta forum the banned member can ask the rest of the community to evaluate their post history and confirm or contest the ban decision for that member's edification.

Good thoughts on the "Permanent" part...there should always be a time limit mentioned.

When someone gets a tempory ban it does indeed state the reason for the ban (minus a reference link). I don't see any reason that couldn't be done on permanent bans as well.

I'd also change the wording of the section telling them how to appeal. They all take it to mean they just need to say 'sorry sir' ten times and beg for their account back. Something like "If you believe you have been banned in error you can appeal by....." would be better.

Granted that most of them won't/can't read it anyway but it might cut down on a few pointless appeals and threads.
2992  Other / Meta / Re: Global Moderators fired? on: July 11, 2018, 05:55:13 AM
Why do you let him derail the thread?   Wink

Fair point. Normally I just hit the report to moderator link and write 'off-topic'.

I have seen grue and SaltySpitoon to be inactive for more than a while now(inactive as in spending less time on the forum, moderating). So the absence hasn't affected the spam to increase. Although, I could argue that with the launch of the new autoreply bot, which might have made the spam problem much worse than it already is.

Yeah, it could be something else like that. I do get feeling that 3 global moderators aren't enough given the level of spam this forum is subjected to.
2993  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★ Crypto-Games.net ★ LARGEST wagering contest - up to 46.000$ in prizes* on: July 11, 2018, 05:42:22 AM
The only way that a user could take advantage of multiple accounts is that they would be able to get more faucet requests and potentially rain from chatting.

As in the formula DogecoinMachine posted, as well as the faucets investors also pay for referral income. This is the most common reason people cheat with multi-accounts. Self-referring has a far higher potential gain than faucets.
2994  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: July 11, 2018, 05:34:56 AM
I have cleared the bonus req a few times, once turned 0.04 + 0.04 bonus into just under 1 btc so it is possible...

Don't believe anything the spammer broken_record says. He's just here to promote his bot that will definitely lose your money. It'll probably steal your password so he can thieve your money in the unlikely event you do win.

Never download and install any 3rd party apps or programs unless the source code is made available and you know how to check it before compiling it yourself.
2995  Other / Meta / Re: Global Moderators fired? on: July 10, 2018, 07:52:06 PM
It would be better if we could have the same system with default trust members

Why do you try and derail every thread into an off-topic discussion about DT?
2996  Other / Meta / Re: How many times does someone have to break a rule before they get banned. on: July 10, 2018, 04:06:37 PM
I am assuming that it'd only count as advertising if there's any ref links, hyperlinks, or something like that. Maybe, mods don't see it as advertising.

The link is in his signature. If it's that easy to get around then there is no point in having the rule. I'd like to hear what the moderator's interpretation is but to me that's blatant advertising.

Edit:

Even though that post was reported 4 days ago it has now been handled and deleted. Thanks to the moderator responsible, I guess you saw it here.

I'm still struggling to understand the difference between the posts that do get deleted and those that don't.
2997  Other / Meta / Re: Global Moderators fired? on: July 10, 2018, 04:03:43 PM
If there are only 3 global moderators left that would explain why the spam problem has got so much worse recently. I've noticed reports staying unhandled a lot longer or indefinitely the last few weeks. The other staff can only moderate the boards they are assigned to and nuke Newbies. The legions of Jr. Member spammers seem to be left to their own devices at the moment.
2998  Other / Meta / Re: How many times does someone have to break a rule before they get banned. on: July 10, 2018, 03:31:22 PM
If a user breaks the rules, it doesn't necessarily mean that he should be banned. Spamming, advertising,  using ref. links etc won't get users banned(initially) ,but would just get their posts deleted. Hilariousandco and cyrus would probably have a better explanation.

Initially yes but persistently? I've reported at least 14 posts that have been deleted. My question is how many it takes?

From what I see, this user is comparing freebitco.in with his bot, and is attacking you. Since there's mixture of both, it doesn't explicitly seem to be advertising. Hence, no action is taking place. Or I am totally wrong.

He's basically trying to take over another service's thread to promote his service.

Edit:
How is this not advertising?

very bad day for me Angry
I managed to get my balance almost doubled after a month+ then I lost it 3-4 days ago
then today I made another deposit close to ~30 mbtc, I was hoping it could last a month or so
but what happened was... 27 lose streak in a row Shocked Angry Cry
It feels like I'm donating to the prize pool contest

If you want to play long periods of time,  just watch my 24x7 live stream it shows how to do just that.

That is still unhandled.
2999  Other / Meta / Re: How many times does someone have to break a rule before they get banned. on: July 10, 2018, 03:16:07 PM
Seems like the guy is trolling you

Trolls I can handle. I just don't get why he can repeatedly break the rules.

I am also interested to know that how long it takes to have them a ban?

Exactly, it looks like this guy can act with impunity. There was one time after a moderator deleted his post he just immediately reposted exactly the same thing and that happened 5 times in a row within a couple of hours.
3000  Other / Meta / How many times does someone have to break a rule before they get banned. on: July 10, 2018, 03:00:06 PM
There is an account broke_tradah that has been trolling the freebitco.in threads I manage for some time now in order to promote his dice script. His own service thread died due to lack of interest so he's trying to take over mine.

Rule 22. Advertising (this includes mining pools, gambling services, exchanges, shops, etc.) in others threads' is no longer allowed, including, but not limited to, in altcoin announcement threads.

I've reported many of these and most have been deleted and few remain unhandled but as soon as one is deleted he just posts more.

This is the latest example I've just reported.

Do NOT use that "btc bonus balance" bullshit.  Its a total scam if you expect to get any of your balance back and are betting by hand.  You have to wager 25x more than the balance you end up with in that locked up balance.  The longer you play,  the more you lose.  The entire site is just one big suckerfest designed to sucker people like you into losing btc that you deposited.  Absolutely NEVER deposit anything into this site.  Ever.  Never ever ever never ever.  You will lose it all.

Unless of course you use a bot like mine Wink  My bot could possibly wager 25x without losing it all.  Doing 25x is so repetitive that u would get carpal tunnel trying it by hand and would make a mistake easily such as attempting to get a 25x win streak with 47.5 odds.  That would absolutely never happen.  Ever.  By the time you got to about 7 or 8x,  you would have nothing left in the account at all due to all the losses.

Archive because he has a habit of editing posts after I report them. http://archive.is/drGt8#selection-5055.0-5055.12

Does this go on forever or is there some punishment?
