I have a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 8gb Hynix and I'm barely getting 700 h/s xmr. What can I change?

Your VRAM is probably running at 1750.

...clip...

1. Samsung -> messy, too tight raw refresh cycle time(tRFC).
2. Hynix 8G -> absolute mess
3. Micron -> not that bad but might be better( at least timings are correct(actrd a bit low))
4. Elpida - ElioVP Timing( it has incorrect value, probably on purpose -> 777000000000000022AA1C00315A5B36A0550F15B68C1506004082007C041420CA8980A9020004C 01712262B612B3715 -> Fixed! )
Good luck Smiley

Thanks dude, it was a lot of work flashing and re-ordering all my Elpida cards. Maybe I'll do Samsung and Micron another day.

Any tips on Hynix?

Is it possible to have just the memory strap?
That pastebin thing is useless.

Sure I'll post a few later.

edit:

**** If you click "download" on any ROM(s) I post from pastebin.com then "save as" a .uue file then extract the compressed .7z archive with WinRAR, WinZip, etc.. and the bios_file.rom will be inside the .7z. It works good don't complain, 10, 20 30??? years from now you'll be able to click on that link and it will actually work and you can download the binary file. pastebin...  Grin Grin Grin

Hi all:
I have been quiet and doing a bit of experimenting with many of the different versions of Claymore. I just did a test of a card that would run say for 6 hours and then lose connection and drop out. The other card with it would stay mining just fine. Did this 6 times to make sure what I was seeing to be true.
I then took said card to a different miner and one of them to said miner. Now all works fine.  I see that some cards just will not work together but will with others. So I feel strongly to say that if you have a rouge card, put it in a different machine and it may correct your problems. May not.
My proof is in the puddin so to speak.

And now, A big thank you to all here that have shared their settings and results. This thread is a wealth of info if you just go back and read through it. Takes a while but there are so many jems waiting to be discovered. Are you new?  Start from page one and take notes. Grab a cold bear or a big cup of coffee and do the research, in the end you will emerge with one great farm.

I just got an asrock H110 btc pro mainboard and boy is it particular about the card order with RX480s, took me hours to get all the cards online. I also got some powercolor RX460 mining OEM cards with the board, they won't even work on the H110 and I can only get a max of 4 cards to work together on an old gigabyte 990 ud3. This is all under Ubuntu 16.04 and windows has a gpu limit so that won't work. I think I'm SOL on these 460s until I get a new mainboard.

Getting all the GPUs in a multi-GPU system to play together can definaty be a challenge.

2988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Modified GPU BIOS for Mining on: September 16, 2017, 08:53:10 AM
how do I mod the bios for an ASUS Prime 270-A Huh What can you accomplish with BIOS modding that can't be done with software?

1. You shouldn't need to mod your mainboard for mining other than updating your BIOS with the newest version.

2. Modding your GPU BIOS allows you to change the settings without installing custom drivers and kernels. Many mining apps have clock and voltage settings but are locked out by the drivers. Changing the memory timings for increased performance is also only possible with BIOS mods.
Regarding 2. No it's not only bios limited Smiley

Is there an app to change the straps dynamically?

sapphire RX570 8gb nitro + memory hynix.

these cards suck

they are not good for mining,
I tried everything, all the timing, in all possible modes, the max to be stable 27.5 mhs

It might actually be your mainboard bottlenecking your gpu, one of my ud3 boards does this to me. That sapphire should go over 30 MH/s no problem.

I'll post a rom for you to try out in a bit, see if that helps.

2991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Modified GPU BIOS for Mining on: September 15, 2017, 06:01:52 PM
I've modded the ROM on my Gigabyte RX580-4GB with Elpida memory. GPU underclock, VRAM overclock, lowered Voltage offset and patched brand performance specific straps.

30 MH/s ETH
830 H/s XMR @ 90W (gpuz)

Gigabyte RX580-4GB (Elpida) Mining BIOS

If you've got any mod requests I think I can mod most RX cards.

UPDATE:

It seems not all Gigabyte RX580-4GB cards are made the same, I had one card start putting out hardware errors running the VRAM at 2000. So I made this new ROM that runs the memory slower, much slower. Good news I saved 10W on power, bad news it hashes at only 700 H/s.

Gigabyte RX580-4GB (Elpida) Mining BIOS -- LOW GRADE CARDS

830h/s is pretty slow for a rx580 :p

Is that with just modded BIOS or did you tweek with miner setting and/or afterburner? Also what speed do you get with "Gateless Gate v0.1.3-pre3"?

If you've got Hynix running at 2250 that could explain why you got 60 H/s more, my cards all run at 2000 max with Samsung and Elpida.

Here's a mining BIOS for the Sapphire RX580-4GB with hybrid Hynix/Elpida VRAM as per request.

Sapphire RX580-4GB (hybrid Hynix/Elpida) Mining BIOS

1. This is an untested BIOS.
2. I can make a faster BIOS for Hynix cards (just ask).

Good news claymore, I'm expecting +10% over the gatelessgate miner I'm currently using.

Sir nobatman, are you using AMD under GG? whats the hashrate?

would you switch to CLAYMORE if he will charge 2% fee with the same hashrate? or will you stay with GG? GG has no fee right? Lips sealed

Sir Claymore, would it be possible for you to merge mine or dual mine, XMR as main coin?

I'm getting 830 H/s on my modded RX480/580s under GG, Claymore will hash more than the 2% he charges I'm sure. I'm expecting close to 900 H/s @ 75W but who knows... We'll see next week!
On windows - yes, on *nix - doubt that.

I run GG on Windows 10 and Ubuntu 16.04, no difference in speed at all. 830 H/s on both...

Windows reports driver version 17.30 same as amdgpu-pro under Linux. If you're serious about mining Linux is the way to, gamers paying off their GPU with mining need not apply.  Cool

1. The Moon
2. Ships and the Horizon
3. Varying Star Constellations
4. Shadows and Sticks
5. Seeing Farther from Higher
6. Ride a Plane
7. Look at Other Planets
8. The Existence of Timezones
9. The Center of Gravity
10. Images from Space

I can't believe I actually have to post this stuff to rebuff the loons.

I believe I've already addressed these ten issues, here's a re-post:

Quote

1. The Moon Over the Flat Earth

  • The Moon and the Sun in the sky at the same time during a lunar eclipse (this also proves the existence of a third celestial object; The Black Sun).
  • The wrong side of the Moon occulted during an eclipse.
  • The cooling effects of Moonlight prove it's not reflected sunlight.
  • The distance to the Moon as measured by a sextant using plane trigonometry is ~3k miles.
  • Stars are sometimes visible through the Moon.
  • Clouds are sometimes visible behind the Moon.
  • The NASA Moon landing is a proven hoax.

2. Ships and the Flat Horizon

  • When a ship disappears beyond the horizon it's due to perspective and having traveled past the vanishing point.

3. Seeing Stars

  • The north star Polaris is visible south of the equator as far as the tropic of Capricorn; impossible on a spherical Earth.
  • Airy's Failure experiment and the M&M experiment proves the Earth is stationary.
  • Polaris has not moved in thousands of years; proven by ancient Sun dials.

4. Sticks and Shadows Will Break their Skull and Bones

  • A sundial made from a stick that casts a shadow and used to determine solar time proves the heliocentric model is impossible by revealing the path of the Sun through the sky.
  • The example given by two sticks casting shadows à la Eratosthenes can be easily explained by a geocentric flat Earth.

5. You Can See Farther from Higher on a Flat Earth

  • You can see father from higher up due to perspective as the vanishing point distance is a function of elevation of the eye/camera from the ground.

6. Ride a Plane Over the Plane

  • An airplane can fly in a circle over the circular face of the flat Earth without stopping.
  • The windows in an airplane are curved and distort the image you see creating the illusion of a curved horizon.
  • Flight paths make no sense on a globe but make perfect sense on a flat Earth.
  • There's no GPS tracking of airplanes in the southern "hemisphere" proving GPS is actually Earth based.
  • Flight times don't jive with distances traveled in the southern "hemisphere".
  • Gyroscopic compasses on-board airplanes prove the Earth is flat.

7. Observation of Other Planets

  • Observation of planets shows them to be lights in the sky.
  • Close observation of planets by amateur astronomers with telescopic equipment reveals images that contradict those provided by NASA and the establishment, especially those of Venus.
  • Computer simulation of planetary orbits based on the heliocentric model results in chaos.

8. Flat Earth Time Zone

  • The Sun rises and sets due to perspective; emerging from and disappearing into the vanishing point at the horizon. This results in the various timezones during its circular orbit above the flat Earth.
  • If the Earth were a rotating sphere completing one revolution every 24 hours the Sun would be over head at midnight every ~180 days.

9. Density Not Gravity

  • An object that's denser than air will fall.
  • An object that's less dense than air will rise.

10. Images Not From Space

  • Images taken by amateurs with balloons all show a flat horizon that rises to eye/camera level and a Sun with a hotspot under it.
  • All NASA/establishment photos are taken at high altitude with a wide angle fisheye lens or are fake/CGI/composites.
  • Satellites and outer-space itself are a hoax; GPS is achieved via cell towers, satellite TV signals are bounced off the dome or are ground based and all international data is transmitted via undersea cables.

Nice try Nomind, but the only person in this thread to post "Fuck you" is you and your troll alt accounts.  I am always mature. Tongue

Now back on topic, Why do ALL of the MILLIONS of photos taken of flat earth only show half the continents at once?  Why do the photos never look like you claim they do?

P.S.  You are just a troll and you know the world is a globe. That's why you can't answer any questions.  Wink

I'd answer but the question doesn't make any sense, what claim have I ever made specifically about the appearance of the Earth photographed from any height? The only claim I recall making in regards to the appearance of Earth in photographs is that the horizon is flat and rises to eye level no matter the altitude.
