2982  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [LIST] Free EU bank accounts that you can be opened directly online on: April 17, 2020, 05:52:10 PM
You didn‘t list PCS Infinity prepaid Mastercard:
https://www.mypcs.com/card/pcs-infinity/

This one has a free unique Iban account and can be applyed fully online. The account can receive and send (not 100% sure about sending) transfers from any EU bank account. I asked their support if crypto trades are ok and did not get any negative answer.
Should be mentioned here i think. But the card is 15€ per year, so not free!

I didn't know we can apply online, we buy it at the tobacconist shop here. I own a card the price isn't really 15€ per year, it starts at 4€ per year with a virtual card, 10€ with the black card, 15€ for the chrome and 20€ for the gold.
The fees are very high to use it. Up to 7% to deposit money with a voucher, 4% with a debit card and 2% with SEPA.
1€ per ATM withdrawal, 1€ per outgoing transfer.

0.05 cents per minute to call the support center to finally get a lady so bored to answer your questions

Hi everyone, does anyone have a suggestion as an alternative to Epayments? It has been a month, there is no update about the frozen funds and I am tired to wait for another useless update. Please suggest a good, working alternative for non-Europan customers. Thanks.

there are 37 pages to read and you will get your answer

I just did some time ago (2-3 weeks i think). The address confirmation letter arrived already to its Austrian destination but no card till now. I expect it to be here soon. I paid for the infinity card.
Are they really ok with crypto related payments? Did you try to use it for this purpose?

The postal service doesn't really work in France currently (covid-19) I have see them only once the last 30 days in my street. Just to tell you it can take a very long time before you get it. Just today I needed to drive 60 km to buy 2 stamps lol (most offices are closed in the country)

I never tried to receive funds from an exchange with them since they're a little buggy sometimes (funds never credited, cards not working etc).
Never store a lot of money with them, just what you need.
If you try to receive funds from a cryptocurrency exchange, it would be nice if you post here to let me know
2983  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Purse.io is shutting down on: April 17, 2020, 07:32:49 AM
Purse.io was already dying for 2 years since some countries were removed for whatever reasons. I'm not really sure if they removed some countries or the areas were dying in the offers but the only countries available were US, UK, Canada, and Japan while more were available before.
.
Added with the fact that it's easier to buy bitcoins with a credit card nowadays and the fact they never managed to protect buyers against fraudulent purchases done with stolen CCs and vouchers, here we go.

I used the website myself and got some nice 30% discount but oh well, RIP Purse now

2986  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Staking with Ledger Live - Supports Tron on: April 16, 2020, 04:30:04 PM
Will you guys try and support it?

I do not currently have a TRX on Ledger, but I have some coins from TRX faucets currently located on one microwallet. Although a larger amount of TRX is likely to be needed to expect some more serious earnings via staking, I'll try to get my TRX on the Ledger and see how it all works.

I'm always glad to see that there is something new going on when it comes to Ledger, and free money is always free money Wink

That is not all. They are also holding a new contest where it is possible to win up to $2,000 worth of TRX and/or 100 Ledger Nano X hardware wallets. Not bad.

Not bad at all, and I will try to win something in this contest - Ledger definitely made sure we didn't get bored these days Smiley

About 7% per year, I wouldn't stake anything with less than $10k to make it worth it. Other than that I consider it a waste of time.
True free money it is but staking with for example $1k to make $70 or less in 1 year?

Disappointed with this news, I was expecting something better but well what is shit for some people is gold for others as the adage says. Roll Eyes
2987  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which to use for cheap initial BTC purchase? on: April 15, 2020, 07:37:17 PM
Complete novice here.  I have accounts on Binance, eToro, and Coinbase(pro).  I'm looking to cut costs and purchase coins cheaply.  I'll be hodling, not trading.  If I understand correctly(based on the above), eToro may be the cheapest way to buy some bitcoin.  Is it possible to purchase on eToro and then immediately (once showing on eToro account) transfer to my personal wallet?  Based on their site, I couldn't understand specifically if that is possible.

Thanks in advance.

No, you can't transfer out the bitcoins from your eToro account, it uses CFDs (but even if they changed and own really the bitcoins you can't transfer them out still). And talking about the fees I suggest you be careful if you're not using USD, you may see a big difference.

About Binance, you can buy bitcoins with a debit card only right? Forget it as well the fees usually suck when using a card.

Simply use an exchange like Bitstamp, Kraken, and others. It's the most efficient method regarding the fees (you deposit with 0 fees, buy for ~0.15% and that's all)
2988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Leading industries in bitcoin turnover on: April 15, 2020, 07:09:56 PM
Web hosting/Cloud also is one of the biggest industries using Bitcoin, and for a simple reason, Paypal isn't available in every country and a lot of people don't have a debit card.

If you look for this type of list (there are plenty of others) you can see that the major industries are generally online shopping, gambling, hosting, services.

I doubt the porn industry is using BTC a lot as we may think, probably a few bitcoiners but I don't think there are persons in this industry suddenly starting to use BTC because <insert anything>. Anonymity can't be a reason because I'm sure they don't really care about it

@Flawless96

It won't solve your problem but I can tell you there are similar stories with Amazon and websites rewarding their users with Amazon gift cards (i.e. Swagbucks)
The same story happened to me before when I wanted to use a virtual card, I purchased an item and less than 10 minutes later my account was frozen.

The problem comes from Amazon but they're so stubborn and think only they are right.

Sorry to hear that man.  Undecided Did you ever manage to reach out to them?

Yep, it took me almost 1 year to get my account back. Tired to exchange emails with the verification service (which was asking me crazy stuff like my bank history), I used the chat and played the imbecile card by saying "Sir, what's happen, I can't log in my account, I tried to reset my password but nothing work"
They gave me my account back the same day lol

...

Yeah, such services are using authorized sellers of course. As I said it really come from Amazon and its borderline system

2995  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Hacking Bisq on: April 14, 2020, 02:20:05 PM
Just a reminder for folks who don't know know how secure is their 'preferred platform' to trade, or they think centralized platforms are better because more secure... the majority of them have a low level of security
Seeing the number of CEXs hacked and the millions that disappeared DEXs are very far to get this level. DEXs are also hacked but people are less likely to leave their coins on them.

Quote
out of the 140 exchanges we analyzed less than 40% of them are using headers like the Strict-Transport-Security header or the X-XSS-Protection header. 20% expose server information which isn’t a security vulnerability in itself but that clearly shows the low level of security best practices implemented. And 26% of them use frontend libraries with known vulnerabilities. Only 2% implemented a Content-Security-Policy that, if done well, can offer powerful protection against clickjacking or XSS

2996  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s second corona wave can it crush it’s economy? on: April 14, 2020, 09:12:54 AM
If it was something they had planned, it is quite likely that they did not manage to control as they had planned. Oops, wrong dosage.
China's economy is resilient and most workers have already returned to their jobs actually,
The crisis is not going to affect their economic ambitions they're just going to put more effort. They invested almost 50 billion yen in the economy, focusing on technology industries such as 5g and the cloud.

China could become the world's leading power once the crisis is over.

Now if we imagine a second wave I don't think it could crush its economy, it will be paused until it's over and the government can again decrease the fractional reserve allowing the banks to invest more billions to help the economy.
And if a second wave happens to be sure other countries will be affected as well and the drama could become the hell

I think this country is one of the least problematic in the economy terms

I am not even sure if this second wave is as large as the first. Probably not and therefore not enough reason for a second lockdown.

That's also what most politicians were saying until it hits their own country. How many deaths are needed before actions are taken?
2997  Local / Hors-sujet / Re: Coronavirus on: April 13, 2020, 06:51:15 PM

2998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is our chance on: April 13, 2020, 05:22:10 PM
I would agree we are also starting to see the emergence of CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency)  The bank of England just set forth there proposal for this fully tracked digital currency people will soon start to realize that they enjoy the freedoms that anonymous payments give them and once they know that they will be fully tracked by the new system people will flock to Bitcoin as the solution.

I already jumped in the worm hole the other side is great!

Do you think it's something new? Central banks have been working on CBDC since 2017 and perhaps more. Of course, it will be "fully tracked" like you say ad we won't have anonymity using it.

But what is different compared to today? Do you think we're anonymous when we're using our card? Nope, they know what is your best supermarket, what's your ISP provider, electricity... They can know what brand do you smoke, they can know when your wife has the menstruation and more.

And you think people are stupid as much as they don't know it and how far it can go? Of course, they know but the majority is fine with it and they will fully embrace CBDCs
2999  Economy / Digital goods / Re: I am Looking For an E-Currency Exchange Script on: April 13, 2020, 05:10:23 PM
Be very careful about what you buy from forum users. There is a very high probability they will try to sell you a free/nulled script they downloaded some minutes after reading your original post. Of course, they will tell you how super secure is the script, etc...

The reality is in 99% of cases the scripts have backdoors injected in. The first day the script will work correctly but you will discover suddenly all is gone and they used the wallets using API/IPN or what else.

In the best case, you will get a script full of bugs.
