2981  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: August 17, 2013, 02:47:44 AM
In half a years time a TH/S will be the minimum that a serious miner will need.  And it will cost maybe 2000 bucks? Equivalent or less than a high end GPU miner.

Exactly. The 400GH/s order I have in with BitFury will be my last ASIC purchase until 1TH/s become available.

Public Service Announcement:

If you have ordered from Butterfly Labs (BFL) and have not yet received your product, you are entitled to a refund whenever you request one (per FTC rules).

First ask Butterfly Labs (BFL) for one, they will probably say no but you might get lucky.
If you ordered via PayPal you can file a complaint with them even if you are outside the 45 day window. One customer has already gotten a refund from PayPal that was outside the 45 days.

If you ordered via BTC or Bank wire, you can fill out a complaint with the FTC and they will advocate for you with Butterfly Labs (BFL) to get your refund. You can also contact the office of the Kansas Attorney General and inform them that you have had your money taken with no product delivered for months, just more promises.

There are also several threads on how to get a refund from Butterfly Labs (BFL), here are two:

2984  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Bitfury is looking for alpha-testers of first chips! FREE MONEY HERE! on: August 16, 2013, 09:30:59 PM
Is anyone able to put chips on boards for sale yet ?

I'm very tempted to purchase a number of chips from Dave ahead of my October order, and hoping to get some BitFury product hashing in my farm ASAP.
2985  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 16, 2013, 09:00:22 PM
at the moment of writing, another 130k chips have gone out, and will proceed to ship more as we get them. ( and no, they are not samples.)

Yay ! Looking forward to the flood of K16's, BitBurners, and other community projects !

I've got a suspicious feeling about this operation.

 Caveat emptor.
2988  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL current state of affairs on: August 16, 2013, 01:37:41 AM
Josh, why you so douchy tho?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superiority_complex

"The superiority complex is one of the ways which a person with an inferiority complex may use as a method of escape from her or his difficulties. She or he assumes that she or he is superior when she or he is not, and this false success compensates her or him for the state of inferiority which she or he cannot bear. The normal person does not have a superiority complex, she or he does not even have a sense of superiority. She or he has the striving to be superior in the sense that we all have ambition to be successful; but so long as this striving is expressed in work it does not lead to false valuations, which are at the root of mental disease.

...

An individual who is not properly trained to answer life's problems may turn from striving for superiority in useful ways to that of a personal superiority at all cost. If an individual cannot be better than another on their own merit, they will attempt to tear down another person or group to maintain their superior position."
2989  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER ASIC FPGA GPU overc monit fanspd RPC linux/win/osx/mip/r-pi 3.3.4 on: August 15, 2013, 07:54:20 PM
May I ask why you don't use the normal cgminer binary with the -G flag ?
Because if you use standard CGMiner.exe and your only ASIC mining it will require OpenCL SDK/Runtime to be installed to run.  If you use CGMiner-nogpu.exe then you don't need any AMD software at all.

Well that makes far too much sense. TIL. Thank you.
2990  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER ASIC FPGA GPU overc monit fanspd RPC linux/win/osx/mip/r-pi 3.3.4 on: August 15, 2013, 01:58:21 PM
I tried this with nogpu.exe, but not working.
You are using a VERY old version of cgminer ... get the current one.
Yes - 3.1.1 working with
Code:
cgminer-nogpu.exe -o eu-stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u user -p pass --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S \\.\COM3 -S \\.\COM4
With 3.3.4 not working.

May I ask why you don't use the normal cgminer binary with the -G flag ?

I'd the hell like him to update us with what he trying to do to allocate our chips and compensation?
What would you suggest he do with our 6x70BTC? Wait?

 I'd like a pony.

What do you suggest Steamboat do without any further information ? Post daily updates "Heard nothing from Avalon today. No updates on when the chips might be arriving" ? I'm sure people would find some way to flame him for doing that as well.
2992  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official ASICMINER Hardware Information on: August 15, 2013, 05:46:17 AM
has there been any official word about the restock of asicminer hardware that was supposed to happen last weekend?

Haven't heard anything yet Sad Have an email into friedcat myself, FWIW.
2993  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL current state of affairs on: August 14, 2013, 11:02:09 PM
..... This will probably happen 2 weeks from now ...
Dude have you not been paying attention? They've been saying a great amount of progress will happen in '2 weeks' for 6 months straight now. I just don't get how people can trust this company, they've done nothing to earn it.  I would put the likelihood of that latest '2 weeks' statement of actually happening at about 2% - 3%.

Look. I really don't see what the problem is here. Just wait another two weeks. Come on. Be reasonable.

 They will most assuredly deliver.
2994  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: August 14, 2013, 10:26:24 PM
Small claims court petition is being prepared. I'll keep you informed.  Roll Eyes

Against who ?! I hope Yifu and not Steamboat...
2995  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL current state of affairs on: August 14, 2013, 03:22:56 PM
Much like I told Flying Hellfish, once you become an adult, you will realize that reality (and the rest of the world) does not care about you.  Reality is what it is, you can accept it or deny it, but it will still be reality.  Nothing needs to be proven, no work needs to be shown.  You either accept reality or you deny it, the choice is up to you.  Reality doesn't care about you and what you believe, and just like I told Mr. Hellfish, neither do I.

This man has a firm grasp on reality.

We should listen to him. He knows what he is talking about.
2996  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: August 14, 2013, 02:22:30 PM
Fuck me for trying to be a bit optimistic, huh ?

Please, resume your stewing and smoldering then.

Toodaloo !

Steamboat, hang in there bro.
2997  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL current state of affairs on: August 14, 2013, 01:55:38 PM
The network hashrate seems to be going up in lockstep with the amount of hashrate we are shipping out, give or take a slight deviation.

Care to back up such a claim with any sort of proof?

*mumbles something about delusions of grandeur*
2998  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: August 14, 2013, 05:59:52 AM
Reading reports of other group buys getting their sample chips. Here's being cautiously optimistic Steamboat sees something arrive soon.
2999  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: GPU is DEAD --- ASIC is taking over and Fast. on: August 14, 2013, 02:38:42 AM
Just powered down my last GPU miners after taking delivery of another bunch of AM Erupter USB's.

Feels strange not hearing loud fans anymore... The house is eerily quiet now.

... I would say that none should do any update of working mining clients near the next adjustment ...

Shame on you for this post.

 Incredible.
