2981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is telling people you're into stocks "cool" but crypto is a big secret? on: September 19, 2021, 01:01:50 PM
Ever noticed how people would boast or proudly proclaim (or at least used to) that they invest and trade stocks, but they don't feel the same way about crypto, as if it's a secret never to be shared? Why is that?

Mostly because crypto investors are seen as gamblers or ponzi investors and no body whats to be addressed that way and such thoughts are misconception but the society has made it seems like it is true. Around the world, most government are attacking this currency and if you do not want to be a target then it is better you stay hidden and just be making your profit peacefully.

Beside, the new thing now is not to brag about your source of wealth, back in the days when stock and forex trading were not that accessible, thoes engage in this act see themselves as the most privileged so they boast about it but now it is very easy to trade especially with cryptocurency everyone can get involved so there is nothing there to brag about.
I am personally not vocal when it comes to crypto especially to the strangers i met because i intend to keep it secret although my family is already aware on it. Besides, bragging about your investments and the profits that you are making will only put you in  danger particularly with the scammers around. So as much as possible, my own privacy should matter the most.

However, i know some people too who chose to be vocal on their crypto holdings rather than staying it secret. And i understand their purpose. Their aim is not to brag but to encourage people that crypto is a good opportunity to earn and that they should not believe from the negative sentiments because all of those are totally not factual.
2982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: September 19, 2021, 12:38:46 PM
I've heard that Casimero is looking for some additional trainers on his team. But he wants a younger one.

Well in fact that the old timers are better trainers because they have a lot to share because of their experiences.
Maybe because of Him being aggressive that's why he wanted to look for Younger one that will relate on his kind of training wanted. since He needs to be more ready now because we knew how good Inoue as opponent , so casimero team is really facing one of the toughest fight of His career now facing this Japanese boxer.

They don't need a new trainer seriously, all he needs to do is to follow the instruction of his current trainer where he will follow it no matter how the turn of the fight will be. in that way, they won't be any miscalculations or regret to the result of the fight. Their strategy should work because they have already seen some of the fights of Inoue where he barely survives the fight. however if Inoue will execute some unthinkable strategy in this fight, then it's all over. but there is only one thing to be sure of, the fight will not end by the bell.

That's only a rumor, I like to know if Casimero confirms it soon. If they'll hire a young trainer, maybe because they see that there's more they can improve on Casimero as his opponent is no longer a joke, Inoue is a tough fighter and Casimero has to be smart enough in the ring to beat the monster, so let's see.
2983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Hafthor Bjornsson vs Devon Larratt on: September 19, 2021, 12:16:12 PM
I don't know these two but I made some research and I like Devon Larratt because he is a jolly guy, lol.

I was actually watching this video - WAL 504: Dave Chaffee vs Devon Larratt (Official Video) Full Match and I find him good at trash talking his opponent and he won this competition.
However, in this boxing fight it's different because he was the one that was dominated, he can't hit the taller guy while Bjornsson hit him with clean shots.

Congrats to Bjornsson by the way, it was a good win by him.
2984  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador Bitcoin payment option on: September 18, 2021, 11:59:37 PM
In my opinion, I think this is a welcome development, it can be said that El Salvadorian government are not making Bitcoin payment mandatory (although mandatory) even as it is a legal tender because the payment can be in Bitcoin while the receiver can choose to receive it in fiat and processed automatically.
Yeah, it is good how El Salvador has decided to accept Bitcoin fully, but I don’t think people should be forced to make use of it. Things like this should be a matter of choice, if you want to make use of it then you can make use of it, and if not, then you shouldn't. It is good that you have said it’s not really mandatory for anyone to accept it. Those who are not accepting it now, with time they will get to understand it and if it should interest them, then I believe they will go ahead to start making use of it fully.

For now, most of them are going to be afraid because of the value of Bitcoin is volatile and it changes most of the time. So all they need is time to get to understand it , and once they are up to that stage of making use of it, they wouldn't waste time in doing so.
Its more like they are not ready yet not just of the fear inside that they might lose all of a sudden what they all got because of high volatility, but mainly because they lack the understanding needed to be attracted in bitcoin. I know in time they will definitely reach that point but for now, its a good thing that still have the freedom whether to use or not to use bitcoin. And even if they are going to pay in bitcoin, the receiver has always the choice to accept it in fiat. So the citizens are not force to use bitcoin, until the time will come that they started develop the interest to use bitcoin and make it as an advantage.
2985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Dogecoin survive without Elon Musk? on: September 18, 2021, 11:27:33 PM
I think Dogecoin will still survive, but it's just that the price will not be able to increase very high as before, because as we know if the price of Dogecoin can increase very high as it is today, it happened because of the support from Elon Musk and if one day Elon Musk does not support Dogecoin anymore, then of course the price of Dogecoin will definitely go down and it will be difficult to increase again.
Yes. I know dogecoin has all the chances to survive even without Elon Musk because as long as there is good community supporting meme coins, they will always survive from any bears.  But i don't think its price will be very high just like when Elon Musk started tweeting about dogecoin and all of a sudden, lots of followers of Elon have came to invest in this coin. They are definitely making huge profits by that time. And when Elon stops tweeting dogecoin, its price started to fall making most of the investors shift to other projects that will more likely give them good profits more than dogecoin can offer.
2986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The greedy must be poor on: September 18, 2021, 06:55:31 PM
Each of us has the right to judge, whether not taking profit when the coin price rises before our eyes is greed or will we fall into poverty,?  But I have a different view from you, by delaying not taking profits during the increase, they actually have a plan and see that there will be an even more fantastic price spike in the future, now that's where they will sell all the coin assets they have to achieve the target. they mean.
Greed will never make us contented because it actually drives us away from it. But being human has a part of it as being greedy. So there's no way we can avoid it but maybe trying to control it.

There is a wrong misconception on being greedy must be poor. Traders usually set their goal price when to sell, but if they refuse to sell their coins even when the price has been reached because there is more higher profits waiting ahead, that's already a manifestation of being greedy. And most of the time, they only end up selling at a low price because the market won't actually stays always on top, it will suddenly fall sometime. That's when greedy must be poor. However, if a greedy person has also set his plans not to sell because he has prepared a special strategy on it, then he will most likely not end up losing. Instead, it will make him gain more profits more than from what he is expecting if he sell his coin right at that time.
2987  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it true that it is said that South Korea will close many trading platforms in on: September 18, 2021, 06:02:26 PM
I have always received a lot of negative news these days. Everyone says that I don’t buy too much in September,It seems reasonable.
Some people say that there will be huge bad news on September 14.
Some people say that South Korea will close many trading platforms in September.
I don’t know if it’s a fake news from some black media? What do you think?
Dont let easily make yourself do fall on those fuds because this is something which is common here thats why everything should really be having some sort of in depth research because not all news could be true
and if you do make yourself do react and make out some take profit or panic sell then it will really be just an unfortunate situation since the market hadnt really reacted as well. Also i dont believe that S. Korea
would be closing out trading platforms and just like others been saying that it is rather to be positive than on being negative towards crypto market and come to think off that if China
had failed out on dumping the market then all of countries will really be just the same in case.
Well, you have to start believing because South Korea is definitely closing those crypto exchanges that cannot meet the requirements to acquire a license. And i don't see this in a negative way because even if South Korea tighten their country's regulation, this is all just for the security of the traders' accounts. So even if there will only be few exchanges left, it does not really matter, at least we know they are more legit and more reliable.
2988  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think financial stability is mandatory to be a gainer in Bitcoin invest? on: September 18, 2021, 05:30:02 PM
I think people who have a lot of fund will have opportunity to gain bigger profit. But it's not a guarantee. In my opinion, people who can gain profit from this investment are those who buy and sell in correct time. I only have small amount of money but it always doubled every bullish market trend. So I sold at that time then buy btc again when bearish market trend happen. Another example is, I bought TRX at lowest level at bearish market few weeks ago and now if I sell it then I can get 200% of profit, but I will not sell it now because I think bullish market trend is even not starting yet. So in my point of view, investing in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies need knowledge and experience, not just big fund.
Bitcoin investment gives equal opportunities to whatever your social status is. But knowing rich people have definitely more funds to invest, so their opportunities to double their profits is bigger compared to those who only invest from a middle class. Still, i don't see financial stability is mandatory to be a gainer in bitcoin investments although its really a big factor but being knowledgeable and flexible are still the most important things so you can be profitable. There are those who came from a poor family but end up very successful in bitcoin because they have the full determination and persistency to learn and develop their own strategies so they can avoid losing often and maximize the profits. So being financially stable is not a guarantee, its simply being the best of you that will attract more success in life.
2989  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Do Young Investors Prefer Cryptocurrencies? on: September 17, 2021, 11:58:53 PM

Them being young is an advantage. Why? because they can take as much rich as they can. If they fail with it, they can restart as they grow older.

While the older people, they have to assure and secure themselves with investments because they don't have unlimited resource so they're just also being wise with their decision.
so its all about the risk and is nothing to do with crypto and why not young people invest instead in stocks and other assets and not in crypto ?
older people can care less with responsibilities and they also have different sources to get funds like retirment , pension ,
( to name a few ) they can use this as investment if they want to but i guess its not necesary because like i said earlier they are already old and have less responsibilities .
There still has something to do with crypto and that's why they're investing on it. But with taking the risk, it's easy for them to recover because they're still young.

While the older ones are too conservative and has to be conscious with their investments before they get in into another one.
Old people or matured ones would really much prefer those traditional investment since they do know that it is long time running and have been known compared into new forms of investment that
it is just young specially with crypto which is only a decade old and its no surprise that those old person would really be seeing this to be risky and wont mind on touching it up and even dont tend to throw even a cent.
Young or the youth which are really known on the current trends and technology and due to that curiosity in mind then it is most likely they would really be choosing up crypto investment and to think that
it doesnt really need up big amounts in capital which is really reachable unlike those traditional investments.
Young investors are more likely adventurous and like to explore new things around and eventually put their trust on it. This is very different from old investors because they want security first before they can put their trust on it. And young investors tend to be more aggressive that whatever they think they always want to do it right away. But with the active minds of young investors, they will be able to accept new changes and challenges faster than those old investors. That is why they prefer to invest in crypto over the traditional system.
2990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should you sell ethereum and btc to buy Solana/SOL? on: September 17, 2021, 08:53:57 PM
Solana is a new promising altcoin that surpassed dogecoin to be ranked up to seventh place on CMC. And based on its price last August 15 2021 it is only 44$ and now its current price is 157$ based on that super Sonic price movement from 44$ to 157$ for just one months, I think Solana is good for short term investment, what would be your insights about this guys. Good for long term or short term investment?
Maybe a short term investment would do, but how sure are you that it is going to continue with this uptrend and for how long? I usually don’t know the answers to give when people ask questions like this, but I would really advise it to sell Bitcoin to be buying another token or coin, so if you have another money to invest in this particular token then you can go ahead with it.

Although Bitcoin seems to have reached his limit for now others been circling around the price range of $50,000 and $40,000. Same way you least expected this Solanatoken to reach this high, that’s the same thing that might happen with Bitcoin soon. And it maybe at a time when you have already sold yours to buy another token that may soon start to depreciate.
SOL has been very good lately in the market and i can see it has a huge potentials that will pump hard in the future. But i still not consider selling my bitcoin or ethereum to buy this token as i don't have the full trust for SOL to keep on pumping even if the worst scenario in  the market will suddenly happen. Maybe if i decide to sell my bitcoin or ethereum, the reason is i want to enjoy the profits for now as their current price is already high. But i don't close my mind from investing into SOL in the near future if it still has its own huge potentials that will beat the market's sudden dipping of prices.
2991  Economy / Economics / Re: vitalik's contribution is also great on: September 17, 2021, 08:21:40 PM
Undoubtedly, Buterin and his people made a great contribution into developing blockchain technology and crypto world by creating Ethereum platform that became mother for a huge amount of bounty campaigns. They have extended the idea of Satoshi and had renewed it. Now lots of traders like participating bounty campaigns as the possibility to earn tokens (no one forces them to do this). Thanks to ETH platform we have a lot of crypto-games, smart contracts, NFT. ETH platform is very dynamic in its evolution (always interesting to observe its development and even participate). So that’s really cool that Buterin and his people created ETH platform.
Vitalik should receive the same recognition with Satoshi because what he did was totally amazing and ethereum right now has become more reliable with the invention of ethereum 2.0 that made the whole projects in the crypto market to depend much on ethereum's smart network. And with the newly risen close competitor of ethereum right now which is SOL, i think Vitalik may come up with a new idea on how to make ethereum more developed and smart and i think when we talk of adoption, ethereum has an advantage over SOL and that would be enough reason wherein SOL cannot be outdated ethereum in the long run.
2992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Basic Bitcoin skills on: September 16, 2021, 11:01:55 PM
actually I'm not so sure about the main skills that must be possessed in investing in bitcoin, it's just that if you want to invest in bitcoin, you have to be patient. we also have to understand and accept that the bitcoin market is up and down and it makes some people feel confused by this. before investing in bitcoin we must be really ready to learn all about bitcoin, whether it's technique or risk to be able to avoid the losses. so the first thing needed is a willingness and determination to learn and learn more.
This is the most basic thing to get to know the market and understand how the coins in the market move. DYOR is very much needed when you plan to invest and hold bitcoin. There's no technical knowledge that you should learn but more on fundamental skills. Finding a reliable hardware wallet is very much needed so you can secure all your bitcoins that you want to hold. And always be prepared with the high volatility of bitcoin because the price will suddenly move downward and then it goes up gain. But there's no really big issue when it comes to holding bitcoin because even if there is a sudden dump, it will always recover any time. And the last thing is be patient all the time. Holding indeed is less risky compared to trading but for you to be able to succeed in holding, learn to be always patient so that you won't make a wrong decision that will make you lose everything in your wallet.
2993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [WARNING!] For gamblers using coins.ph on: September 16, 2021, 09:59:16 PM
There's a new update on coins.ph now.

A new requirement is added that you have to identify not only where you will send the coins but also the source of the coins you received.
It has even been brought out by one of the campaign participants of bestchange regarding this issue. you can see the full convo here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5217201.1700
Dang..This is way too much.. I have experienced lots of exchangers and local wallets but it turns out that this had be the most strict ones. They are asking on where those funds came from?
This is my first time for a local wallet and also how they could determine that those inputted information would really be that accurate?
It seems that it isnt really that appealing on using it at all.
You can put false information if you want, they would not know it right away, but the moment they conduct an investigation, then that's the time you have to pay for the false information you put as you are  asked if the information you provided is correct before you get that transaction verified.
2994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 16, 2021, 06:24:28 AM

Yeah, that is also what I'm thinking but looking back on their previous games they lost almost on a two digit lead and i have lost betting on them also when the spread was +10 plus.

Anyway, it's just me and it's gambling, you may win or lose but the important thing is we enjoy what we are doing and we know what we are doing also.

Very straight answer, it's gambling. If you win, you enjoy, if you lose, then move on and try another one.

I follow you with the reload that I get from stake, parlaying these two picks of yours. I'm more worried about DYIP as they beat two strong teams and now they will be tested again. They need the win to continue their journey, but same with you, it's gambling. We never know what will happen. We just wait and see the outcome.

Not much to argue with Blackwater, personally I really don't see any desire from the players, they just good at the start, but when the opponent locks them down, they are not willing to take the challenge.

Maybe the roster is not good enough to compete. Looking at the roster, I see some veterans like the names Semerad, Nabong, and Canaleta. and they also have good guards, but I don't understand why they struggle this season. Based on my personal view, I can't judge accurately because I was not watching their games, who would watch a team that is boring to watch.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the first season of coach Nash Racela as the head coach of the team, it's not good for him if the team will not have at least 1 win.
2995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A good man/woman leaves an inheritance on: September 13, 2021, 09:50:13 PM
If someone already has a family and he wants to donate them their crypto assets, it is best to do so while he lives. My family already knows the codes, whether it is the wallet codes or the ATM pins - no point hiding important details from your wife and kids, right?

I can understand that the case might be different from person to person - but still I would much rather disclose the details upfront rather than write a list of instructions for a lawyer to read out while am off!
We all have different choices to take. And i agree with what you chose. If you have your family that can be trusted about securing your private keys, then why not? You don't have to keep it alone. Its better if you can secure it and be able to let them know about the whole thing of crypto so they can also prepare for it and might continue with what you're doing while you are already off.

The main thing here is how you will be able to reach them about their inheritance and its good to know that they are much aware on that while you are still here living in the crypto world.
2996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 13, 2021, 09:18:02 PM
Quite an uneventful event the last few days for NBA transfers don't you agree? I'm tired of Ben Simmons saga so who else are you expecting to be traded or waived other than Marc Gasol? Anything on the free agents or returning former NBA players? I checked on at least three sites but nothing new came up.

Yes, only the Ben Simmons saga remains in the trade calendar, but nothing happens so far.

Perhaps team have settled down for now, maybe just a couple of minor trades here and there to make any team even better. But most of the star players is down their new old and new teams. The Ben Simmons drama has been discussed over and over and the only thing we can do now it wait for it.

I think the trade deadline is not near yet, so there's still more time, however, it would be fair for Simmons if he will be traded before the season will start so they don't have to sit him while they are still looking for a team that could potentially accept Simmons for their demand. This kid has some real talent, he just belong to the wrong squad, if he still messed up in a new team, then maybe we can conclude he really has a big problem.
2997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you guys think on: September 13, 2021, 08:24:57 PM
As a non-expert in crypto I see this falls into the right category for building a crypto portfolio but not in a single coin. If you see that there are now many investors who are present day by day, then the opportunity for prices to increase will exist. Why? because the price decreases or increases in the market depending on the quantity demanded. That's my opinion.
Well most of us cannot predict the market well so maybe we are mostly non-expert here. But starting to build a portfolio with this current market situation is never a bad idea but make sure you are into coins with high potentials so that once the market dumps, they will have all the chances to recover again.

And looking at the previous events in the market, i don't think we will have the same dip scenario from 2018 because crypto at that time was never really that popular and its adoption is still very slim but seeing the market now has improved a lot then maybe it will be very different now. Of course dips is still inevitable but the market won't really fall that dip as before.
2998  Economy / Economics / Re: Two basic things that can give you an advantage on: September 13, 2021, 07:46:26 PM
Remaining calm is always the best thing you can do. The past has told us that most people who haven't sold their coins have made decent profits by just holding onto them.

I'd definitely by bitcoin at a drop, not sure about the top 10 though as they might suffer harder than btc and a few of them (usdc and doge) might be bad for long term holding.
Keeping calm and having absolute patience are the two advantages of investing.
A decline in the market will also be an opportunity. But be aware of the long-term overall coin market trends, and don't make emotional investments.
The top coins cannot be bought intuitively. Don't buy hype coins when the market is generally down.
Hyped coins are less likely to survive when the market has a long dump but when we chose to buy for those established and top 10 coins in the market, they have all the chances to recover again. Prioritize bitcoin because its the most profitable digital currency in the crypto market.

I have been dealing this market's bull and bear season for such a long time and being patient and calm especially when there is really a long dump can be very helpful so you can create huge profits after long term holding. Of course having a good amount of funds so we can buy at the dip is also very necessary too so we can take advantage with the current dip.
2999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: September 13, 2021, 02:07:48 PM
Inoue will not be concerned about Donaire so he will give him a rematch, he beat him once, and now that he has a belt, maybe they could unify that belt and Inoue will be the undisputed champion. The good thing here is Inoue and Casimero are willing to fight Inoue, this is easy for Inoue to prove that he is the best, but of course, right after the Casimero fight.

The scenario after Casimero vs Inoue will be:

If Inoue wins, Casimero will ask for a rematch.
If Casimero wins, Inoue will ask for a rematch.

Then regardless of the result:

Donaire will challenge Casimero and Inoue.

In the end, if Naoya finished the 2 PH boxers successfully without losing, he will now climb up the ladder and the belt will be left to top contenders at that division.

If Inoue wins, I doubt he will give a rematch to Casimero. His next fight will be against Donaire, and if he again wins the 2nd time around, I guess he would just move to a new division so he can continue his journey in chasing the pound for found king.

Inoue is currently rank at the number 2, https://www.ringtv.com/ratings/

Canelo is sitting at the number 1, well deserved for him but Inoue could go up in weight and hopefully he would be able to bring the speed and power.
3000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 13, 2021, 01:48:08 PM
Hey kabarangay's out there, too early to say that the Kings will not reached even the semifinals. Standing is just a standing. If they can make even at least on the last spot to enter the next round, that's all good and win loss record will be reset. The only advantage of standing is the post-elimination spot. Knowing Gin Kings, they are shown at their best when they are in a do-or-die situation so just relax. Smiley

Time Cone is making CStand ripe on his system that's why even the chemistry is still not there, he will just continue with his usual rotation until that chemistry now finally blends.
I also have that mentality but with a bad standing, that makes everyone think of how they'll be ending with. But if there are still games remaining for them, they have to be the best of them for those matches because if they keep ending with a bad standing and more lose, then we all agree that it's going to be what will be their fate for this season.

If they won't do good this conference, there's still the next conference that they might be successful. Tim Cone will be a legend in the PBA, and he will do everything to make Ginebra a championship again, let's just give other teams to improve so we will not see them in the Finals all the time.
That's always the case for every team that if they fall short on this current season, they always have the next season. But it is likely that there will be another batch of those players that are about to receive offers from the B League just as the others have already taken the offers. Well in this case, that's just my anticipation since a lot of news did came with that.
The season is long, they'll have a conference and it's easier for them to bounce back as every conference means another opportunity to be in the PBA finals. This conference is probably an ALL FILIPINO CUP because there's no import, so maybe after this, it will still be the same set up as we are still in the pandemic and most likely new conference is still in a bubble format.

Quote
But we have our trust and have seen how Gin Kings always gets up and we just have to wait for their next matches if there's an improvement.
Slowly but surely maybe.
For the Gin Kings, we'll see and we only have to wait, watch and enjoy.
Agree, but I'm not enjoying if my team is struggling anyway.  Sad
