2981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beginner needs advice for portfolio on: December 13, 2019, 07:25:38 PM
Out of that list I'd change so many things. I wouldn't buy Tron because it's more and more looking like a scam. It's popularity comes from Justin spending millions of dollars on PR campaigns and giveaways. Such projects don't have real value.
I used to like Cardano but there's this strange vibe I get from it in the last months with Hoskinson wanting to fight Buterin. In general beef within currencies don't look good. You can see what happened with BCH and SV when there was a beef between devs. Both coins went down in value and Cardano is losing value without any bounces. It's going down and down.

Make sure your BTC is at least 50% of the portfolio.
2982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think Libra Coin will Win on: December 13, 2019, 07:13:13 PM
The problem with libra is that they want it to be regulated and the government is against it and it's easy to stop because they can attack the company behind it that has real people and assets associated with it.

Bitcoin is not that easy to stop because it never asked to be regulated and there's no people you can sue behind it. If the government allows libbra to exist it will. It's vulnerable.
2983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really still decentralized?? on: December 12, 2019, 09:48:47 PM
It is decentralized and will remain decentralized as long as there's no single point of failure.

Some of you don't get what decentralization is. Your fiat is centralized because it's all in the hands of your central bank. This is a single point of failure. As long as there's more than 1 bitcoin mine and more than 1 exchange Bitcoin will be decentralized.

Crying that most mining is in China will not change anything because even if chinese miners are taken down all at once because of some natural disaster there will be plenty left to finalize transactions without them.
2984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Speculation will drive the btc ride further as always on: December 12, 2019, 09:32:31 PM
Sure it will. Speculation is the fuel for Bitcoin. Of course Bitcoin has other qualities that can start a rally but sooner or later it comes down to speculation.

Like some rallies start with seller exhaustion, some with news of adoption, some with a whale buying a lot but they all end with speculators overbuying and hurting themselves so you can be sure that speculation will make BTC pump again.
2985  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull run is delayed! Halving not helping! Bear go away on: December 08, 2019, 08:50:03 PM
So bull run supposto be on but its not!
If december the bull run Will not start then january just Before taxes its hard to belive that bull run Will start.... Usually january is very bearish.

Usually December is bullish but it's not so we already know that usually means nothing for Bitcoin. We did not get the usual December so maybe we will not get the usual January.

Quote
And halving not helping either.

Maybe halving pump was what we saw in June? Wink

If you like the usual numbers you should know that halving bull runs usually happen after the event not before.
2986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Social experiments in the world of gambling on: December 08, 2019, 08:42:01 PM
I'd tell that person to help himself and his family by getting out and at first trying to lowering stakes. Playing with a few dollars is the best way to satisfy your addiction and not lose a lot of money.

I don't feel bad for gamblers who lost a lot of money. It was their choice and if they won they'd be bragging about it everywhere and buying stupid useless shit. We shouldn't help these people financially they have to learn from it and suffer the consequences.
2987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hide my money from my country on: December 08, 2019, 08:26:46 PM
Isn't this called tax evasion already?
It's not evasion until he really evades. If his taxes are due by the end of the year he will not evade anything by asking or saying that he wants to hide his income. He will evade if he doesn't pay taxes before the deadline.

You are right, if I will withdraw the money to my bank in few years I still will pay the taxes but there is always an option I will withdraw
small amounts for cash and never put it in my bank. Thats the basic of what I planned to do.

Most countries will only ask you to pay taxes on the profit. If you buy today and next year your coins are worth only $100 more then you probably won't owe any taxes because you'll be under the smallest taxable profit. If your coins are worth less it's the same you won't pay taxes. If you gain 10 thousand USD or something it would be fair to pay taxes and not have to worry about anything. Situation depends on how much money you're making each year.
2988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Much Money You Need To Win To Stop gambling, Is This Possible. on: December 08, 2019, 08:17:59 PM
It's possible to stop after a big win but most people won't be able to. That's how our minds work and that's how sites are hooking up gamblers. Trading sites are also using the same strategy and it goes like this: Ofer people free money to use on your site but don't allow them to withdraw, they have to play x number of games to be able to withdraw. Those who lose will give all the money back to you and those who win will deposit their own money and keep playing because they'll think they are good or lucky.
2989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Justin's giving away 5,000 TRX to one lucky winner! on: December 08, 2019, 07:58:20 PM
This is a normal giveaway not a big deal. Most coins spend more on promotion by giving less to a single participant but more in total.

I don't see anything big here. Maybe if they were giving 30 thousand again it would be something to write articles about but a few hundred? Exchanges give 10 times more every day for referrals.

Sun is shady especially after that last thing with Poloniex.
2990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH to zero? This guy is dreaming! on: December 08, 2019, 06:50:39 PM
honestly I am not sure about the words (ROUBINI) if ETH will reach the price of 0., I'm even more confident if ETH can reach the price of $ 200 in early 2020 and maybe it can be more than that price, ETH is one of the top altcoins and have a great team, I think if the ETH price drops at the lowest price, it's impossible to touch at the price of 0.

It won't go to 0 just because of Vitalik. He's a very smart guy and it's important for a coin to have a respected  frontman who isn't afraid to speak on conferences. Vitalik is a little awkward but we all know how strange geniuses can be.

Even scam coins don't go to 0 after getting exposed. There are some coins with team members already in jail or with charges and they still have some value.
Saying that ETH will go to 0 is stupid. It shows you don't know the market at all.
2991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hide my money from my country on: December 08, 2019, 06:27:14 PM
Hiding your held bitcoin is pretty easy but you won't be able to hide them when you sell. What does it matter if you pay 19% after a year or 19% after 3 years when you finally sell? It will be all the same. Most countries know that it's very hard to prove somebody bought bitcoins so they don't bother to look. They just wait until you sell and tax your profits then.

If you want to buy anonymously do it on one of the exchanges that don't require KYC for smaller purchases and buy there or use a DEX.
2992  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-12-02] 5 Small Chinese Crypto Exchanges Shut Down in November 2019 on: December 08, 2019, 06:21:24 PM
I wonder how many they have / had to do with binance ?

According to CZ Binance doesn't have an office in China Tongue

All in all it's not that bad. Less exchanges in China is less fake volume produced. We all know nobody was faking it as much as the Chinese. Also they weren't even trading in China because financial institutions are banned from providing services to bitcoin exchanges since 2015 so they were in China but trading outside China. Now they can move and do it in a proper way.
2993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dominance may be down, but a key bullish sign for BTC! on: December 08, 2019, 06:02:35 PM
It's a good indicator of a bitcoin bull market. Usually in a bear market bitcoin dominance rises because altcoins get hit harder than Bitcoin and people escape to fiat and bitcoin to minimize losses. In a bitcoin bull market dominance decreases as people invest some of their profits in altcoins that tend to pump more than Bitcoin.

What we're seeing now is too small to call it an altcoin season but maybe just big enough to be the beginning of a bitcoin season.
2994  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat Vs Cryptocurrency, which would you choose? on: December 08, 2019, 05:51:56 PM
At the moment cryptocurrency is a worse choice because there's much less acceptance and we have much higher fees than with fiat. Micropayments are also much faster with fiat even if you're using cheap and fast cryptocurrencies. You still need an app open on your phone to pay and it takes at least 5 seconds.

I can pay with my card in 2 seconds just touching the terminal. No buttons no confirmations.

When we have the infrastructure cryptocurrencies are going to be better but for now it's fiat world.
2995  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Have you not relented in viewing your account wallet? on: December 07, 2019, 08:18:42 PM
U always keep checking it and it never makes me sad, even during a dump. Guess why. Tongue

Because most of my investment was pre 2017 bubble which means that even if we are dumping below 5k I'm still ahead in fiat value and if you are not - fuck fiat value. 1 bitcoin equals 1 bitcoin! Cheesy Don't follow my ideas, but I can tell you that it's important to get over it and be calm whatever happens. If you allow your wallet to dictate your mood for the day you'll fall into depression.
2996  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could Bitcoin increase as in 2017? on: December 07, 2019, 08:08:52 PM
Hi everyone, I'm new to the platform and a new crypto-currency lover and passionate about blockchain technology. I have lots of ideas and questions about crypto currencies and my first one, could Bitcoin see its value increase as much as in 2017? Thank you

The price may go back to $19000, but from what I am seeing the increase is being gradual, which is very good for not having those high increases and after a week we have a big price drop. Another thing, we should not look at 2017 as a normal year, what we saw was a pump and dump. I think in 2 years we'll see the price of $19000 again

Why 19k and not 20? If we go back to the previous ATH there's a high probability of breaking through.
3 years to 19k is quite a bearish prediction. Maybe I'm just too bullish but this is how it looks to me. What are we going to do for the whole 2020? A sideways trend for almost 2 years? That would be incredibly boring and very improbable since Bitcoin is a volatile asset.

I think that we'll have a bull market by the end of 2020. 6 months after the halving we'll either be above 10k or in a bear market again.
2997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my story: why bitcoin has failed (and keeps failing to this day) on: December 07, 2019, 07:57:23 PM
Um, yes they will.  There are admins for a reason.
For a reason! Just not the reason you think.
Admins aren't here to make sure you are safe to say whatever you like and when somebody answers in a tone you don't like his post gets deleted.

If you want to know why others are saying you're acting in a childish way this is the reason!

Quote
Do you have anything to say about bitcoin and the felonies I've mentioned? obviously not unless you make another post.  I had to report you to the admins as well because you are not adding anything else other than assumptions and insults towards me.  This does not have anything to do with the topic I have posted to be quite honest.

Where did I insult you in my post above?

Does that mean every post in the thread has to relate to the first one or it gets deleted? This whole topic will get deleted sooner than moderators begin to remove our posts because there's something about you in them that you don't like.

My post was an answer to your previous post about complaining to the mods.

Are you now going to tell us what we should talk about in our posts? Should have started a self moderated thread!

It is evident that there is a problem with many people's words here.

You have a problem not them.

2998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my story: why bitcoin has failed (and keeps failing to this day) on: December 07, 2019, 07:37:52 PM
On a side note.  I'm going to have to inform everyone.  Whoever replied to me on the first page with vulgar harassment and negativity acting like I was butthurt or just don't know anything is getting reported to the admins.  You people really need to reconsider how you treat people on the internet.  I'm not putting up with this.

Admins aren't going to save you from the community.

It's pretty straightforward in here. You express opinions and you get all kinds of answers. Some people will like what you're saying others will not. Asking admins to help you because they called you inexperienced or emotional won't make it all go away!

How are you going to survive in the real world? Are you going to call the police every time somebody calls you out?
2999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sale my old bike and buy bitcoin, what do you think? on: December 07, 2019, 07:29:52 PM
Please don't make your decision to keep the bitcoins or not based on other people's opinions. It is ok to read and be aware of other's opinions, but you shouldn't follow them if you understand what I mean. Do your own due diligence and assume responsibility for your actions. If you are a student or you don't have any other form of income it might be a good idea to reap a little bit of the profits to buy yourself a new bike and maybe use it to save time, fuel(assuming you use a car to move from place to place) or even make money by doing delivery for different venues like Uber Eats, Glovo, etc.

Don't listen to people like the one I'm quoting who are telling you to sell. Sure make your own choice but my advice is to learn from other smart people and hold. Read some predictions, watch Andreas on youtube, or watch some of Trace Meyer or that weirdo Max Keiser and you'll know that holding is going to be worth it in the long run.

Your old bike would just get more rusty in a few years and that little bit of Bitcoin can potentially change your life.

I'm not telling you to hold as a joke. I'm a holder myself.
3000  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading on: December 07, 2019, 07:12:43 PM
Always remember that there is no safe trading. All we know that trading and other activity is very risky. The only thing that you do is to study first all the action  that you make before you make it. That is the only way that you do to reduce the risk in trading but never think that there is an safe trading.

Depends on what he means by safe trading. The platforms you're using can be more or less safe. You can rely on pump and signal groups or not. You can follow TA of others or try to do it yourself. There are many levels on which you can screw up.

There's no 100% safe trading but you can be much better than the average with a little knowledge and effort.
